Word Shaker allows you to play simultaneously with others... no turn-based silliness here. This is a solid app loaded with features and should stand as an example of how Apple Apps should be coded. The ads aren't really intrusive and easy to dismiss. My only pet peeve is I wish the board size and timer options were in the settings menu rather than solo play menu. They were initially hard to find since I started out playing multiplayer. It seems counterintuitive to play a solo game just to configure settings for multiplayer. Well done!.Version: 4.2

✓ A Good GameHere we have a Boggle-like game that has all the rewards of a Boggle-like game. And, like Boggle, there is only one drawback -- the words that can be made, for the most part, are prosaic ("tills," "till," "list," "still," etc.). And like Boggle and Scrabble -- if getting a high score is your goal -- there is a premium for spelling idiotic two and three letter words that nobody's ever heard of. Ever. Let's say "bef" is a word. Maybe it is. Speaking for myself I could care less, even if it means "orangutan with unusually small digits." Well, maybe that's not a good example. It would be so much better if the premium was for long, elusive words, like "pentimento," or for that matter "pimento" or "palomino." So much, much more satisfying. That's an algorithm that's waiting in the wings, I hope. All that being said, this game is a good game and lots of fun..Version: 4.2

✓ Addictive!I play this every day, trying to find all words in a game. Some words are quite odd so expect not to always reach 100%. And, it's clearly uses American English as it does not always respond to more internationally known and accepted words. Having said that, once you identify these quirks, the challenge remains. An updated dictionary of words to account for what is most current would be great, but doesn't detract terribly from the game and it's enjoyment. I look forward to any improvements, including a wider more internationally flavoured set of word options and a little less encouraging messages at the end of a game when I clearly have not done so well! The clock starts running - it's down to you: scan the letters and make up as many 3 or more letter words. If you can't find anymore words press the Shaker button to get another selection - you can do this three times. When your time's up you get a score and comment plus a comparison with all the others playing the game. I have found one or two minor problems with this game which I have passed onto the game team. They responded personally very quickly offering solutions or promised to put it on the list for the next update. Nice to have such great support for what is a free game. None of this 'word not recognized' nonsense which you get with so many other word puzzle apps.
