Contraction Monitor for Negative User Reviews

Screws you if you are in laborSo it doesn't tell you when you download it, but you can only record 20 contractions and when you go to record the 21st, it tells you you are SOL unless you pay. Really?? You are going to do that to a woman trying to figure out if it is hospital time, in pain, freaking out (first time moms like me.) I get that it's free, but warn me beforehand, not on the 21st contraction!.Version: 1.4

Don't waste your timeHalf way through timing contractions it stops and makes you buy the full version to continue. Lame. Get Full Term instead, it's easier to use and won't interrupt you at the most crucial time you need this to work..Version: 2.1

Terrible that it only allows 20 entries and then you have to pay.... !!!Only 20 entries.Version: 2.1

Ethics?Great, just when I help my wife with her 20th contraction I need to upgrade? This was supposed to be free!! This is misrepresentation at its best..Version: 1.4

Bad timing on purchase decisionDevelopers: You really should ask me to upgrade at the END of my 20th contraction instead of the START of my 21st. I wanted to throw my phone at the wall when the message popped up!.Version: 2.3

The most shameless sales tactic ever employedAs another reviewer has mentioned this app records 20 contractions ( making sure your labor is real and active) and then forces you to purchase to record anymore. If that wasn't bad enough the purchased version does not retain the first 20 contractions you tracked ! Out of pure principle use ANY other app instead of this one..Version: 2.0

Free Version LimitationThis app was exactly what we wanted and worked perfectly ... EXCEPT there was no indication that the free version was limited to recording 20 contractions, no warning that we were approaching a limit, nothing. I don't like being forced onto something when under pressure, so just quit using this app..Version: 1.3

Limited to 20 contractionsI wish this app had stated it's differences between lite and full. I was frustrated that I wasn't in a position to download the full app when I reach the 20 contraction max. I had to delete some contractions and lost data. I like the app and glad when I did choose to upgrade..Version: 1.1

Scummy scummy scummyWhat they don't say is that after 20 contractions they demand you buy the app if you want to continue using it. Just when you have a heavy breathing, contracting wife. I guess the idea is people are committed after 20 contractions and will be forced to buy the app. I don't mind paying for apps but this was so underhand I refuse. Truly scummy.Version: 2.0

This is not a free app!!This is a disgraceful app. We downloaded this app and tested it out before the big day. Wife went into labour, which is a testing time! The app was working fine until we got to 20 contractions... At that time the app would not continue unless we paid for it. I do not mind paying for apps but at least be upfront about it. Very unethical behavior. Do not buy..Version: 1.3

This app is evil!I was using this app to measure my contractions whilst in labour. After a few hours when contractions were stronger and more frequent, a message pinged up in the app saying I'd have to upgrade to the full version if I wanted to measure any more contractions! Taking advantage of ppl at their most vulnerable. Disgusting..Version: 2.3

Should be removed from app storeAfter 20 contractions it tries to charge you to upgrade. Hence it is not free. Very wrong to do this to people in the middle of their child birth..Version: 1.4

Disgusting AppForces you to make a purchase after 20 contractions. The middle of labour is NOT the time to try and sell me something. Totally immoral. Deleted this app. DO NOT DOWNLOAD..Version: 2.0

What?!? A dating websiteSo, not only does it ask you to upgrade after 20 contractions, which happened when my wife was 6 cm dilated and in labor pain, it has advertisements. One of the advertisements on it was for a dating website! There's better options out there, unless when your wife is about to deliver your precious girl you're willing to hit the market. Pretty inappropriate..Version: 2.3

This App Takes Advantage of a Desperate SituationMuch like the hardware store that jacks up the price of snow shovels in the middle of a blizzard, so too will this app screw you over at the wrong time. It provides for entry of 20 contractions for free. That lasted about 1.5 hours, and just as my wife started a really painful contraction, this app told me that I had to upgrade, which of course I did. "What's going on, this really hurts," she says. "Hold on honey, just need to enter the credit card info, you doing okay?" Of course, when you update, your prior information does not port over to the app you just paid for, meaning as your wife is in labor and screaming at the top of her lungs, "What the hell is my frequency?," you can't tell her all that effectively. Bottom line, do not get the free version of this app. Either pay the $0.99 well in advance (the program was working fine while we used it) or avoid it altogether. A little more disclosure by the designer would have been appreciated. My wife thanks you..Version: 1.3

Good ApplicationStraight forward to use.Version: 1.4

Good, but ...Brilliant app and very easy to use but stops working after 20 contractions. I found this out in the early stages so just kept wiping it clean and starting again but it is annoying to have to do that..Version: 1.4

Really? My wife is having contractions and after 20 you THEN make it clear I have to upgrade to continue tracking. I don't care about a buck but come on! Labor is not the time. Now the starting data for the last 3.5 hours is stored on the free version. Way to add to the stress..Version: 1.4

Let me down when I needed it the mostThere I was in the throes of labour using the app to measure my contractions when I got the 'you can only measure 20 contractions please upgrade message'. I pressed the upgrade button and the new app installed but none of my previous data was migrated. What a waste of time and now money! when I phoned the hospital I wasn't able to give them any accurate timings. There was no immediate warning on the free app that would happen otherwise I'd have gone straight for the paid for version. Not like I'm going to need to use it again in any hurry!!.Version: 1.4

Surprise limitVery useful, but you don't find out until you get there that it will only record 20 contractions. Not even after you've recorded the 20th, but as you try to record the 21st. Definitely not a nice surprise for a woman in labor. The limit is fair enough, but wish it was stated somewhere up front. I might have bought the full version if I had known in advance, but not while I was in labor! Aside from that, I thought it was a nice app. Not planning on another baby, but if we were I'd probably use the app again..Version: 1.4

Terrible! This app is awful, after 20 contractions you have to upgrade to use it further? Sorry but I'm a bit busy having a baby! If an app says its free it should be free especially in such important circumstances!.Version: 2.0

Wish I could give less than one starThe makers of the app don't tell you that it only tracks for 20 contractions until you have reached the limit, then they pop up a screen to upgrade.....WHILE YOU ARE IN LABOR!!!!!! I will never download another app from these makers again. I found this disgraceful, and more than a bit underhanded..Version: 2.2

EhNothing more annoying than having full blown contractions and instructed by dr to walk the halls whiling timing them, to find out in order to continue to time your contractions you have to pay for an upgrade.. The last thing I have time for or mental ability to do while in the worst pain of my life. Thanks for the heads up, thought I was prepared before going into labor by having an app.. wasn't expecting that!.Version: 2.2

Limited useOnly allows tracking of 20 contractions on the free version. Only way around this is to clear it out and lose previous data..Version: 2.2

Good app but ads interrupt at very bad timesThis app works very well and we used it in preparation of both our children. But I will say one thing: the placement of occasional video ads is INFURIATING. I understand banner ads and small things to pay for a free-ish version, but if you are timing contractions in active labor, you DON'T want to watch a video before proceeding to the next screen. Designers: Good job on the product and interface. But get a better ad model. Seriously. That's a major UX failure..Version: 3.3

Too much to focus onThere was too much to focus on (setting the timer, intensity, etc) during the heat of the moment, so I aborted using after my initial contractions..Version: 1.4

Wow, got meFree app for first 20, then it asks you to buy it. When upgraded to new app, my info for the free one didn't automatically update. App designers clearly in it to make a buck and probably never been in labour before. 0 stars. Greedy..Version: 1.4

Don't bother to download into a trap!As some reviewers had mentioned, only 20 contractions are allowed in this free version and that was not mentioned at all in the app description! 99 cents is a reasonable price for this app but it is plain wrong to trick people into downloading and only to find out during your painful labor that you cannot track any more contractions! After a few minutes of struggle I decided to look for another app instead even it's troublesome. It is just plain wrong to do business this way and I refused to be tricked!.Version: 2.0

All functions don't workI am not able to open the contacts button..Version: 1.3

Highly frustratingAfter twenty contraction it won't work and upgrade and no data transfer so you lose the history. I hate dealing forced to buy something that way.Version: 2.2

Caution, do not use this app! This app is a vicious con. My wife was in labor and as soon as it got really stressful and I was talking to the doctor, the app hit the limit on number of contractions and required a purchase to continue. This is a common app swindle, but this one puts the mother and the baby at risk. The data you've logged is lost when you download the full version. Avoid this company that uses absolutely heartless and sociopathic marketing. Please do not support this company. Notice that the positive reviews are all very similar. Likely, they are fakes. This is not a useful app, it is worse than useless as it could be dangerous..Version: 2.2

Upgrade now??! Are you kidding? 😖I'm so annoyed with this app. Claims to be free, the word FREE is very clear in the logo but when you are in the middle of full labour..... Ding, dong! Upgrade or we block the app. WTF?! Upgrade now? Are you kidding?.Version: 1.3

Loss of data mid laborApp only stores 20 contractions, then makes you upgrade to keep records of more. Problem is, this really only happens mid labor (when you don't need surprises) and it doesn't transfer the data to the paid version.... Which means all you data is disconnected and might as well be deleted anyway. But, in the throws of labor, you don't know this, so you just pay to upgrade and then you realize your data starts over. I'm sure they list it somewhere, but seemed like a bait and switch to me. If the data transferred with the upgrade and they made it more clear that you have to upgrade to go passed 20, it would have had 5 stars, in my opinion..Version: 2.1

Don't get this app! This app is only limited to 20 contractions and we didn't discover this until my 21st contraction! It's just not ethical or practical, especially this limitation is not mentioned anywhere in the description. Will not recommend it to anyone. Definitely not supporting some bozzo app writer who has no idea what it feels like to be in labour..Version: 1.4

Its good until!I was using this when in labour. Just at a really bad contraction. I get a message. You can only record 20 a day. So dont waste your time just pay 69p for the full version. U will anyway when ur in labour you wont care hahah.Version: 2.2

Useful but . .I downloaded the App and after 20 contractions the app locks to tell you to upgrade to the full version..I didn't and downloaded a completely free app..Version: 2.1

UpgradeAfter 20 contractions it asks you to upgrade. Kinda annoying when your in the middle of labor! Otherwise I liked the app, it gives options for timing, duration, and even severity..Version: 2.3

Dont waste your timeIm currently in labour and have been timing my contractions. All of a sudden it told me after timing 20 contractions that I needed to buy the full version. Made me angry especially as I was in the middle of a contraction!! There are much better free contractions apps out there. Dont recommend it!.Version: 1.3

RubbishWould not work!.Version: 1.4

Just plain cruel.Great app concept. It really is. HOWEVER, in this free option the company does not tell you that you are limited to 20 contractions. I should have read reviews before downloading, but they should also put that in the description. This is a great app with a horrid, sneaky marketing strategy. Contractions and labor are not the time to try and trick someone into purchasing an app after 20 contractions. I will not purchase the non-trial version of this app on principal. Even though it is the one I like the most and have found easiest to use. Tell people this is a trial!!! Really cruel way to reel users in. And looking at other comments/reviews, I am not alone. Way to ruin a solid service with horrible marketing strategies..Version: 2.0

Only 20 contractionsUseless, unless you only have 20 contractions in your labour!.Version: 1.4

Don't buy this appNo mention that you need to pay to upgrade until u have twenty contractions. Apple should kick these a$$hole$ off the App Store. There is no finer example of price gauging than charging a pregnant woman, IN LABOR, to pay to upgrade.Version: 2.3

Horrible on Apple WatchDon't bother with this app if you plan on using it on your watch. It lags and doesn't allow you to start or stop timing accurately. Very frustrating when you're trying to time contractions!!.Version: 3.1.1

20 contractions onlySerious? Are you saying we must upgrade during labour? Thanks anyway for helping us missing contractions until we found another app (baby is coming) which worked ..Version: 2.0

Flawed and gives inaccurate dataVery hard to get accurate data, since it averages your frequency. It makes inconsistent BH contractions seem like real ones. Information is not set up in a helpful or easy to read way. The charts are very hard to read and relevant info is hard to get ahold of..Version: 3.1.1

SadMy wife is in labour and I found it a little sad that with something this important that a human can actually sell something like this , the world lacks good people and unfortunately greed rules . Get full term it's free and awesome and comes from good people that have lived through this and want to share something that can help people..Version: 1.3

ShamefulApp worked great until my wife was 3 hours into her labor. That's when we found out this is only good for 25 contractions. So right when things are important it forces you to buy. Wow..Version: 2.2

UselessPlease know that this app only records data for 20 contractions, which is of no use for any normal birthing process. After 20 contractions, it tells you it's maxed out and asks if you wish to upgrade to the pay version. The app itself is okay, but I don't appreciate such poor business practices and would have liked a little more disclosure about this massive shortcoming related to the free version. It also should be noted that once / if you upgrade to the pay version, NONE of the previously recorded data transfers over from the free version . . . at potentially one of the most critical times of your life. I wish I had known that..Version: 1.3

Great till the twentiethGave this app a go as my wife went into labour. The free version is limited to 20 contractions which we didn't know. When my wife pressed start on the twenty first contraction the app said, sorry would you like to upgrade?. Not what my wife wanted to see as the pain was coming through. She almost threw my iPhone across the room!. Suggest either buy the full version or don't bother. Good graphical representations..Version: 1.3

Waste of timeThanks for wasting my time. 20 contractions and then we find out we need to upgrade to continue. No thanks. People don't mind paying - but they do mind being tricked..Version: 1.4

Just bad!Soon as you get started the app shuts down until you pay for it! Don't bother 😡.Version: 2.2

Do not buy - find anotherI was absolutely infuriated to find that in the middle of very active labor, you can only track 20 contractions with the free version of this app. I refused to upgrade out of pure morals that someone would sell a product this way. My husband, however, didn't feel like dealing with learning a new app and things were moving so fast we needed to continue to track how close the contractions were. If sold in a legit way, I would have probably spent more than $1.00 in the first place... But seriously. Buy another app just out of principle... Do not buy this app..Version: 2.0
