✓ My daughter likes itBe patient. At first, my daughter just randomly poked at different answers, but after two weeks she is choosing right answers on purpose. She loves it and calls it her game! I would recommend headphones. As a adult the sounds can be annoying--but they're perfect for kids..Version: 1.71

✓ A really fun app !The whole series of these apps are superb. My 3yr old especially loves this one as he is mad about planes! ✓ All good on iPad, but small problem with Kurio tabletMy son really loves this app, but after tracing the letters so many times he doesn't want to do that anymore. I can turn that function off in the settings when using my iPad, but it does not show that function on the Kurio tablet. It just doesn't make sense because all the other options are there. I checked the developers web site and could not find a solution so I just emailed them today. I'll post if they provide a solution. P.s. ✓ Cute and fun!Update: Thanks for adding more new features! We just love that this educational app has a story to go along with all the learning fun! The graphics are so cute, and the sections are broken up into manageable amounts, which is nice with shorter attention spans :) very fun way to learn the letters and sounds in upper and lower case, well worth the purchase!.Version: 1.71

My children are so inspired by the bright colors, user friendly interface and rewards this app presents. ✓ Almost perfect.This is a great little game and really educational. My only criticism is that once you have reached a level then you should be able to access it as a when without having to start from the beginning. My son sometimes gets a little bored of having to repeat the same levels to get to new ones. Some more bubble pops would be good too..Version: 2.1.3

✓ Smiles with LearningI was showing my son how this program works and started getting into it myself. We both agree that earning the stickers is the best part, but secretly, I like the fluid graphics for dragging the items across the screen. ✓ Good game, but has problem that needs to be fixedThis game is great and my kids love it! They love tracing the letters, putting the animals in the train cars, and my almost 2 year old son absolutely loves to pop the balloons. One problem that I have noticed with the game is on level 6. When you get to the second part of placing animals in the train cars it asks for the animals that begin with either Q, Y, or Z, but there is only one animal that begins with the letter asked for. Once you choose that animal, the game either freezes or there is no other animal to choose from so you can't complete the game. If this could be fixed, that would be great..Version: 1.6

She loves the game where she can pop the balloons with letters on them as well as the one where she puts animals whose name begins with a particular letter into the train. I am a demanding parent when it comes to high-quality educational media for children and I am more than happy that I downloaded this app for my 4-year-old daughter. The app is very engaging and easy to use for her, and she has already learned almost all the letter sounds. If like me you have a child who is just beginning to read, Phonics Island is the way to go to get them started. ✓ Nice app, please change the "start" screen adsThe app gives kids two main tasks: There's a matching game, in which the phonic value of each letter is sounded whenever its card is turned over, and there's a section where animals need to be put into a train based on the sound you hear when saying the animals' names. The graphics are nice, and you can skip ahead easily if you've already heard the directions. What I don't like is the "start" screen, which consists of a sun which you push to start the game -- but its surrounded by a dozen other apps that CF Corp is trying to get you to download. It's aggressive marketing, it's a distraction for any five year old using the app, and it irks me every time I see it. Once you get to the rest of the app, though, everything's great. The memory game is a great way to learn phonics values; my kid loves it..Version: 1.4

✓ Everything great but the tracingMy son loves this game and it really is a very good game. My son is learning and he thinks the game is fun. The problem is the tracing. It is so sensitive and frankly difficult for my 4yr old and myself. He's starting to get so frustrated that he wants to quit that whole game over this one issue. ✓ Fixing the no sound problem on payed appsDouble click home button..swipe the apps on bottom of screen from left to right and you will see a music control type looking thing come up. On the far left you will see a volume button that most likely will have a slash through it meaning its on mute. Click on it to un mute it. Now it will work..i followed their app support here and thats what they showed. It worked for me on all my apps that didnt play music that i bough..Version: 1.3

✓ Nice app, but at least one bugI generally like this app. I haven't been through all the levels yet, but there is a bug on level five. When you get to the very last set of exercises on that level, the train grows as animals are selected. However, once you select one animal for each sound, the train asks for more animals and you are unable to select any animal. And even of you could select more animals, there is no train car to put them in. On that level the train never pulls out of the station. As a result, it's not possible to complete the level. And the poor kid never gets the prize. My four year old was disappointed..Version: 1.2

He is 2 and the letter sounds activities were so much fun for him. He laughed while popping the balloons and seeing things fall. So he definitely had fun while learning. This was just the first night so I am sure he will spend lots of time learning on this app. He was very upset because I made the dreadful mistake of introducing him to the app close to bedtime. ✓ Phonics from A-ZMy 3rd year old son has honed his literary skills, which are constantly improving in areas such as letter sounds, letter recognition, names of animals, sounds of animals, etc. He is also engaged at all times and works hard to earn those animal sticker rewards after each subsequent level. He really likes "exploring" the island and has gone through the entire alphabet and is replaying it over and over learning new animal names and earning more and more stickers!
