Seconds Interval Timer for Negative User Reviews

Restricted functionalityApp seems alright. A little clunky when trying to piece together an interval session but you can get there eventually. The reason for the poor review is that by the time you’ve created your interval session you realise this version of the app will only let you you use that interval session once and you’ll need to buy the pro version to be able to use it again which is a big waste of time. This is really just a restricted demo/ waste of time..Version: 3.7.1

Doesn’t work anymoreI used to love this app. It was the only one I could find where I could created a specific name and time for each interval in a set and audibly spoke the name for each exercise when it started. It also gave a 3 second warning beep at the end of each interval to let you know you only had 3 more seconds in that interval. All of a sudden after several years of reliably working it has stopped! It doesn’t audibly say the name of the interval anyone and it doesn’t give the 3 second warning to let you know the interval is ending. Without those features nothing else significantly sets this app apart from all the other interval timers out there. Customer support wasn’t very helpful in fixing the problem as it’s still not fixed and they gave no ideas as to what might be wrong with the app. There are also other reviews of people complaining that the app all of a sudden stopped working and stopped giving audible warnings at the end of each interval..Version: 3.17.3

MusicCan’t seem to set the timer so the music doesn’t fade/reduce as the timer switches from one interval to the next. Maybe I’m overlooking a setting. If not, it’s really annoying..Version: 3.18

I guess you need a watch?I can’t seem to get this to properly log my activity on Apple Fitness. I can see it, but it doesn’t credit the activity. Not a good look. Help area wasn’t useful..Version: 3.22.3

Easy there, learn some UXI took a look at one of the sample intervals, returned to the menu to look at another, went back to the first, and was hit by an inescapable “now you will upgrade for $4.99” screen that I had to hard-quit the app to escape. I didn’t upgrade because I was literally lying in bed while taking my first look around the app, and wasn’t sure that the interval sounds were going to be loud enough to work with my music. In other words, the trial period needs to be a little more reasonable so we can actually *try* the app. (Yes, I saw the “free trial” note before I started. Know what else I saw? Lots and lots of other HIIT apps in the store.) If all had worked out, I would have upgraded, but now I’m back here in the store looking for an alternative. Good luck, and don’t forget to test your app with real users and learn about how and when they will engage with it..Version: 3.20

Lady does count at same speed as the actual clock, rude CSI wrote to CS because the timer countdown voice stopped syncing with the actual app timer. Also, the voice stops counting down if I get a text or anything else happens on my phone. I wrote to the tech support person, Daniel, who said he would fix it on the next update. Then the bot closed the ticket and said I didn’t respond in time. I wrote back because I didn’t think there was anything to respond to and asked if the fix was happening with the next update even though the ticket got closed. Daniel then gives me attitude and says he doesn’t have time to fix every little thing that someone complains about. The tech support guy says this. Maybe he’s the developer of the app? IDK but he was a total jerk after saying he was going to fix the problem..Version: 3.20

Good, but has some flaws/bugsPros - comprehensive timer setup - very detailed settings to create multi purpose timers, not just for sport - keep phone awake and timer always on option - cadence option, super useful Cons - sometimes timer kind stops, more so if it is in the background. Cadence beep stops. Have to bring it to front to continue it - I have taken two stars off for this single issue: the app is ‘sticky’... if you have it open and let the horizontal scroll/swipe bar at the bottom fade then try and swipe the app out of the way or up, it takes a few goes.. SUPER ANNOYING. Please fix this!.Version: 3.20

Great but doesnt work sometimesIt is a great app but it sometimes doesnt work. Meaning it doesnt give me that beep sound when the screen is off. Sometimes i need to unplug my earbud and plug it back in then it works for some times, But if that doesnt work then I will have to reboot my phone for it to work. Hope the developers solve this problem in a soon time..Version: 3.7.1

Crappy tacticsThis app could have been useful. You can customize timers to suit your specific needs but you can only use each timer once before you’re prompted to to pay $5 to use it again. You can’t even reuse the preset timers that come with the app without the same issue. So there’s really no point in putting in the effort to use the custom feature or try to use the presets. The developers are sure to let you know about this limitation but they burry the warning on the third page of information you have to click through the first time you open the app and in the second paragraph of the app description, which the user is actively required to open in order to see. The free version is basically useless. So why not just list the app as $5 to begin with? Because fewer people are likely to download a $5 app. I might have been interested in using the paid version but I think this is a pretty crappy business tactic, so I’ll take business elsewhere..Version: 3.17.2

Not great for exerciseI bought this app because there is an Apple Watch app and I wanted an Interval Timer that I could use in conjunction with the Workout App. But, this app doesn’t work with the Workout app. If I start a workout and then start the timer, it stops the workout. And if I start the timer and then start a workout, the timer is silent and doesn’t continue working in the background. What I thought was the solution for an exercise timer turned out to be completely useless..Version: 3.22.3

You’ll be expected to pay twiceI downloaded this app years ago, paid the upgrade and used it regularly. Then I had some time off, opened the app after a while and found all my timers wiped and expected to pay the fee again - this time £7.99 because the app had upgraded. Would’ve given a good review but that annoyed me. There’s lots of apps that do this for free, so don’t bother. Thank you for your reply, I do appreciate it. I can’t post on your forum. I’ve restored purchases, but I still found that the many personalised timers I’d set up are gone forever and, for a time, I was on a restricted version of the app with the prompt to pay £7.99 for the premium version. You can understand I’m frustrated I hope..Version: 3.7.1

Misleading- this has no free versionThey lie to you that its a free product with a paid premium version before you install it, as soon as you install it you’re informed its just a trial and it only lets you use it a couple of times before locking you out until you pay. I setup a timer to test it and was considering paying to support developers with good products, then wanted to use it once but alas I was locked out. Wont be paying a cent and thought it would be a good idea to inform others this is NOT free at all..Version: 3.20

Disappointing UpdateI’ve been using Seconds for a few years and was always really happy with the features available in the free version. Pretty disappointed that nearly every reasonable feature is now only available through the paid version after the latest update. I would be willing to pay however $15 for an app is a bit rich for me. I’ll be looking for another product.Version: 3.9

Very Flexible, but Hijacks Apple FitnessHave always liked this timer, starting with free version and eventually buying. It is very customizable, with sounds, colors, different kinds of workouts, etc. You can sync your intervals from the iphone to the Apple Watch (not vice versa), and you get great functionality on the watch, if you just run Seconds on the Watch as your sole workout app. HOWEVER, if you run Seconds on the Watch, your normal Apple Watch Fitness/Activity app will not run (or will stop running). Seconds will write your heart rate to the Health app, but nothing else, and your Seconds workout will not help complete any Fitness rings, record calories in Fitness, etc. So basically, you give up the Fitness Watch app when using Seconds on your Watch. So I run Seconds on the phone, and Fitness on the Watch, but that undermines what I thought would be a huge benefit of having Seconds on the Watch (e.g., I wouldn’t have to take my phone on a run). So honestly, I was pretty disappointed that I paid for Seconds and it couldn’t work on the Watch with Fitness (or alternatively, write the same data TO Fitness that I would get with Fitness)..Version: 3.20

Flexible but way too complicated. It’s very flexible and you can get it to do what you want. Unfortunately, customising it to your wishes is overly-laborious and time consuming. Everything takes about 5 clicks more that it should do. For example: do you want a countdown timer that is NOT one of the existing preset times? Instead of just punching in the number, you have to go to the setting menu, find the timer settings, change the presets, then go back to the timer and hit the preset you want. The developers have focused too much on customisability and need to spend more time making the app quicker and friendlier to use, IMO..Version: 3.18

Needs a buzzer optionNeed to be able to switch from speech to buzzer or bell to change time..Version: 3.8.1

This app makes the “workout” app crash or just not workI want to use this app to time my HIT workouts but I also want to record my workout through the “Workout” app on the watch—-but after I finish my workout using the Seconds app, and then hit done, it gives me an error—-something about giving the app access in settings—-the error gives me the option to discard or dismiss. But only hitting Discard takes me out of the Seconds app. While my rings close, it does it not record the workout. I tried activating both the Seconds app and the Workout app at the same time, but after my workout the Workout app someone closed itself and did not record the workout. I’ve tried going online to see how I can “granted it access” and I’ve look everyone on the phone trying to figure it out, with no success. Can someone help please..Version: 3.18

Useless without proJust downloaded and it says that each timer can only be used ONCE without upgrading to pro. Could not see how to set a custom timer. Weird as it has such good ratings..Version: 3.7.3

Misleading - poor Apple Watch functionalityAt AU$8 for this app I am very disappointed that: 1. Phone and watch cannot show the same workout at same time. If you run the app on the phone but move about the gym to different stations I had hoped all the info for next exercise etc would be on Watch. 2. I can not get HR from Apple Watch to work on either watch or Iphone 3. The support website is of little help - seems full of ‘not possible at this time’. Overall I like the iPhone app but it lacks the features I wasted my money for. Reading the descriptions in the App Store it suggests much more, hence my title of being misleading..Version: 3.7.3

Doesn’t sync with Apple WatchHave the right version of Apple Watch but still doesn’t install.Version: 3.22.3

Paid appLocks you out after few uses and forces to pay or recreate your timers. waste of time..Version: 3.22.3

Making me pay again!I purchased this app sometime ago and I’ve gone to use it and it wouldn’t let me sign in, so I downloaded the new version and now it’s making me pay again and it won’t allow me to restore my previous purchase.Version: 3.22.3

Watch doesn’t do it allI was looking for a watch app that I could use to give me intervals while out running and discovered this app worked. However when the run was completed I discovered my workout hadn’t recorded as a run workout so I couldn’t see how far I’d run, calories burnt, or where I’d run and it didn’t count as a run towards my monthly goal (nor could I upload it to Strava like normal runs). I did hear the beeps I wanted to hear and I could still play music at the same time without interference but without being able to record the distance etc it is pretty useless to me. 😫.Version: 3.20

RECENT UPDATE CAUSES APP TO CRASHI’ve had the Pro version of this app for over a year and has been working fine, but after a recent update, the app now crashes several times within a single workout. It usually lowers the volume of your background music when counting down between reps, but now the volume does not come back up sometimes, once it has been lowered. Also, sometimes it will not even beep to let you know that a rep is starting/finishing. This problem has only been present over the last couple of months since the recent update, but the developers have yet to resolve the issue. And based on other reviews I’ve read, I’m not the only one experiencing this problem. I even tried using their new Beta version to see if it would resolve the problems, but after a few uses started running into the exact same issue. The developers don’t seem like they will be resolving this issue anytime soon, so I suggest looking for a different product..Version: 3.16.2

MehI use to love this app because we could do our own work for free now we have to pay for that. so I’m deleting and looking for another app. If not pen and paper it’ll be 😂 Ps could of added meal plans and made that one to purchase or something lol but oh well.Version: 3.15.2

Disappointed.I bought this as it appears to have Apple Watch integration. . What I was expecting was to open the app on my phone, start a timer and that timer is mirrored on my Apple watch and the heart rate monitor on the watch feeds in to the app. When it’s time to move to the next exercise I get a count down which is audible over the music I’m listening to on my headphones. This is not the case. The watch heart rate monitor only works if you start the app from the watch. You can’t select the watch as a heart rate monitor from the app on the phone. If you run the app from the watch and want to listen to music on your phone while you work out there is no audio announcements to tell you to move to the next exercise. I use another app called strong and it does all of the above. I have contacted the developer for guidance and if this app can’t do the above then I will be requesting a refund..Version: 3.20

Unreliable, does not work on iPhone 6This app is so flaky on my iPhone 6s. I set up HIIT intervals to time my run intervals. With an audible beep so I can have the phone in my pocket whilst running and hear the interval ends. Surely that’s what it’s designed to do? But, it is so unreliable. Sometimes it works fine for a few intervals, then it just stops beeping, or the beeps come at random times unrelated to the intervals. Or it skips intervals completely….I’ve run with it in my hand watching the countdown and there’s been no beep, or it suddenly skips forwards or back to a different interval. Totally useless. It might work a the gym or at home and when u r watching the screen, but is entirely useless for running, Very disappointed and annoyed that I paid for this frustrating app..Version: 3.21.8

Wants your money straight away⭐️▪️▪️▪️▪️ The app will let you create your own workout, but then lock you out until you purchase the full app. Very poor and demanding use of in app purchases!.Version: 3.12

Very complicatedVery complicated for me, I am looking for something that beeps each thirty seconds for example and it didn’t work after I tried to create a custom timer..Version: 3.15.2
