Shortwave Broadcast Schedules for Positive User Reviews

Absolutely first rate!I have this app on both my iPhone and iPad, One of which is always nearby when I'm listing to my shortwave radio. This app is invaluable!! If you're a casual shortwave listener it's a must-have..Version: 1.6

Supah! This is a great app for SWLs. Easy to use, quick to find that unknown station. Used on both iPod tch and iPad2..Version: 1.0

Excellent programVery useful and flexible..Version: 1.6

Great SWDX Tool!!I've been using this app for years now (can't remember the exact date I first downloaded it). The best feature is its portability! I always have my iPhone with me, so just a few key clicks provides me with a list of SW stations that are currently broadcasting. I like the display format - easy to read columns, each entry hyperlinked to info about the station of interest. Easy to update, the station list provides almost instant access to schedules, target areas, broadcast languages, etc. Say goodbye to bulky 3-ring binders, clipboards loaded with station schedules that are most likely out-of-date, and manila file folders filled with hard-to-read scribbled notes! If only this app would stream the broadcast audio when you click on a station listing!! Well, one can dream, right? Are you a Kindle Fire user? There's a version of the app for your Kindle Fire, too! Happy, happy, happy!! Believe me, you will not regret downloading, installing, and using this app! 73 & Good DX! Steve WDX5FMD/N5WBI.Version: 1.6

About timeI have two SWL locations. One at home and the other in a Caravan park. For a while I have been taking my books and notes between both of these sites. I thought that there had to be a better way. Having previously used Black Cat Systems software for Amateur logging software and learning morse and a believer in you get what you pay for. I said to myself why not. At first I was disappointed because I changed a frequency using the app and lost the station completely. After a few attempts I gave up and watched TV with my wife for the night. We were at the Caravan park. The next day back at home I looked up the app on line and learnt that one needs to download the latest schedule updates. Once this was done I was a very happy Chappy. I will still be purchasing my WRTH hand book every year. Though this app is so handy. I have a Ten Tec radio as my main transceiver for SWL at home and have a Sony ICF 7600GR with a PK active loop for 3.5MHz to 16 or 18 MHz down at the Caravan park. I only listen to English broadcasts to Oceania. Pretty selective I know. But for other SW listeners there is a whole gambit of settings that I think will be useful to every SW listener. Highly Recommend. Paul VK3ZT.Version: 1.6

Kept regularly updatedI emailed the develop and he confirmed database continues to be updated automatically..Version: 1.6

Very Useful App!I use this app all the time. It covers from 10 kHz where there is submarine communication on the VLF all the way up to the top of the shortwave broadcasting band. There are many ways to sort through what you want, by country frequency time etc. Besides the shortwave broadcasters, I really like the fact that a lot of utility stations are listed. Very well done and informative!.Version: 1.6

GreatLove it..a must .....worth every cent.. Don't be without it..... Although would appreciate country transmitter location and signal strength output added. That would make it 110%.....Version: 1.5.1

Essential AppEasy to use, can’t imagine how many stations I missed before this app. Some of the entries come from obscure locations and rare languages so a glossary of abbreviations used by the app would be helpful..Version: 1.6

Really helpful and important to a newbieStill learning, on a limited time basis. My fault. This app keeps me motivated that I can find a station/s that I can hear. So important for me. Thanks for the app. Bill B.Version: 1.6

Detailed and up to dateI’ve been using this app for several months. It is very accurate. It doesn’t matter if you listen to LW, SW or utilities, this app has it listed. I use it daily and without a single regret..Version: 1.6

LOVE ITI am a ham operator. Sometimes I like to search for shortwave radios stations . I like to find marine, aeronautics and pirate stations. Also it’s call to compare to the frequency band charts. VERY COOL..Version: 1.6

Great app!I have enjoyed the app very much. It has gotten me past my grief over the loss of so many SWBCing stations over the last last three decades. I am especially enjoying the logging ability provided by the app. WPE4AIXSWL.Version: 1.6

Easy to UseIt took a few minutes to figure it out but once you get the hang of it, it is very user friendly and easily laid out. Much better than having to buy a book every year..Version: 1.6

Simple but usefulThis is a very bare bones app. It shows radio schedules and allows you to log what you find (great for DXers). The forced landscape is a little weird, but you get used to it. No ads, no unnecessary fluff, just straightforward and to the point..Version: 1.6

Great aid and love the logging featureDo not confuse the following with a criticism of the app. It's great for finding broadcasts on the increasingly sparse airwaves. "On the air" listings are surprisingly accurate. Is this data crowd-sourced or does it come only from published schedules? You can edit some fields in log entries. If you could change the frequency, you could synthesize logs for new stations. That one field reverts when the entry is saved, though. It would be nice to export logged entries e.g. via email if nothing else. This app is fine the way it is, though – "feature creep" could turn it into a monster, so maybe simple is best!.Version: 1.6

Best SWL tool ever.I hope this is always supported, it's the best and easiest to use shortwave station finding tool ever. Great for identifying what you're listening to also. Long time SWL but I never saw anything this convenient and quick. Love it..Version: 1.6

Excellent Shortwave Radio AppThis app has numerous features (now including logging the stations you listen to) that are easy to use....sort of a Swiss Army knife for shortwave listeners. If I only I had this tool before the invention of the internet. Not only does the developer improve the app but it's also: free. Who could ask for more?.Version: 1.6

Great app for any SWLThe latest update adds the ability to restrict stations by country, language etc. This upgrades the app from great to fantastic! A must have..Version: 1.4.0

Well thought out appIt takes a little getting used to but once you figure out the menu structure and the things you’re able to filter with, this tool becomes extremely useful..Version: 1.6

InformativeA very informative and helpful program.Version: 1.6

Makes shortwave listening more funVery convenient app that helps you find stations to listen to and log those stations and lots more. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.6

Most Excellent AppThis app pretty much has it all to satisfy my needs. The one thing I wished had was the ability to "add" brand new discovered frequencies to Favorites. Very useful app. To the Dev, if I missed on how to add new frequencies to favorites, please let me know. Chow.Version: 1.6

Excellent app for SWL'rI just started using this app and I really like it. Easy to use and understand, with the on now feature makes shortwave stations identifiable even though their non English speaking stations. Logging is super easy, just a push of a button with the ability to make comments and write signal strength reports. At any price this is a very nice SWL utility. Improvements or upgrades that I'd dream of would be a receiving station lat/Lon specific sort. As in "what stations maybe available to the east coast of North America ." Otherwise I can flip open my IPAD pro, sit it next to my listening post and enjoy what's left of the SWL bands. - WI6N.Version: 1.6

Excellent App!!A great App with a huge database of stations & associated info. Info is accurate and up to date and the parameters of all stations are easily accessed. Makes SWL,ing that much better..Version: 1.4.1

The best; the onlyGreat for those of us still listening for ghosts in the ether. Happy the developer maintains such a comprehensive database..Version: 1.6

You Need this app!Very simple to use. You can identify the station and log it..Version: 1.6

Very helpfulAccurate, helpful in knowing what station being received. Makes shortwave listening more fun and enjoyable..Version: 1.6

Dave RGreat information and everything the shortwave listener needs to go with their radio. What this app really needs now is a logbook to go with it so that listeners can log in the SINPO information, it would truly enhance this app..Version: 1.4.0

Shortwave Listening Must HaveEasy, simple to use app. Updates itself for the most current stations, times and frequencies. If you listen to shortwave, this is the perfect companion to your radio..Version: 1.6

Just what I was looking forThis has added so much to my SWL experience. The filter by broadcast target is great..Version: 1.6

Updated Reminders. Not bad at all they update whenever i often checking sw bcb schedules..Version: 1.6

Great appThis app is simply brilliant, just what I have been looking for. It is very easy to use, yet powerful. If you are at all interested in SW listening, you really can’t go wrong with this - it will become an invaluable tool for finding out what is on air, then logging it. Excellent.Version: 1.6

One of the most Excellent AppsHave used this app continuously for decades now. It’s excellent and well maintained. One of our top 5 apps we use daily. Even hourly. Highly recommend this App to anyone who listens to shortwave radio..Version: 1.6

App is as good as you want.Works.Version: 1.6

Blackcat systems SWAn excellent app. Updated all the time. SW listening is made easy . Well done!!!.Version: 1.4.1

Awesome App!Easy to manage and easily updatable!.Version: 1.4.1

Great programLike any app of this style there are always things that will improve it. However for the price this is a great logging program to use especially when on the road. I use it on my iPhone and it works great. I’ve never had it crashed. I have written directly the folks behind this app about suggesting improvements and they appear very open to them..Version: 1.6

Short reviewThis is a really good app. If you like swl then get it. It saves time and is very accurate and functional. I wish more apps were as good as this one..Version: 1.5.1

SWBC shortwave broadcast schedule appHandy little app . Not very exciting but does what it needs to do very well. I only dropped one star as a key to the abbreviations ( country names) would have been useful for beginners to SW. Recommended..Version: 1.0

Really coolI have been using this app for a few months with my shortwave radio and it really compliments it well, it took me a few goes to really work it out, I need to say at this point I am new to sw listening, but when I find a station on my radio I can enter it here and it tells me who it’s is I’m listening to and where they are and the language. It really brings my listening to life and makes it more exciting. I would certainly recommend giving this app a try..Version: 1.6

Great App for SWLA most useful and user friendly app. I really like the way it regularly updates transmission schedules. Very useful on my phone when listening portable and can give alerts when you want a reminder for a certain station start up..Version: 1.6

A vey useful appJust what I needed for an overseas trip to locate English language programmes. However operation is not that intuitive and a more detailed help file would be useful..Version: 1.5.1

Comphensive listings. It actually works. I’m a SWL and ham radio operator since 1967. This is the real deal! I hope they will offer an equally elegant program for scanner enthusiasts.Version: 1.6

Great ResourceI have this app on my iPhone SE 20 and my iPad 2nd generation - works equally well on both. I especially like the “On Now” feature to review English language broadcasts I may want to listen to. Frequent updates keep everything current..Version: 1.6

A must have for SWLSuch a great app to see what is active and when you listen, ,what it actually is. Could not do without it anymore..Version: 1.6

Great AppVery useful and up to date..Version: 1.6

Indispensable!I have used this app for many years and have found it to be extremely helpful in identifying SW stations when cruising the bands, or simply finding out what’s on the air at any given time in a particular band. The app is well thought out, the information is displayed logically, and the logging feature is excellent (no more hassles with scribbling notes on paper). The only small nit I have to pick is that the list of logs is presented in chronological order, which means I have to scroll to the bottom of the list to check on recent logs. The entries should be displayed in reverse chronological order, i.e., with the most recent one at the top of the list. Overall, this app is outstanding; every SW aficionado should have it!.Version: 1.6

SW frequency in a flashVery handy app. Took a little while to understand how the tables were laid out. Now good..Version: 1.6

Great great toolGreat tool for scanning the airwaves.Version: 1.6

Great app just gets betterYou can see my previous raves about this programme, just notices that there has been added an alarm function which is great to remind you when certain broadcasts are on. Some stations are only beamed to area s for an hour a day. Sometimes they only have a short English programme... All good reasons for the alarm. As I have previously said, this programme keeps getting better. Great value for money.!!.Version: 1.5.1

Excellent performerI’ve come to love this app. I I haven’t found any errors or omissions, and no real bugs. For casual shortwave listening from a metro-urban location it’s a perfect companion to a portable receiver. The update-on-demand is particularly appreciated. My one-item wish list would be to export the logs in some simple way, but that doesn’t stop me from giving five stars today..Version: 1.6

Black Cat SW listingThis app has comprehensive coverage of stations from ELF to the bottom edge of the VHF part of the spectrum. It is regularly updated. Search facilities are good with plenty of info available. A very useful app deserving a five-star rating..Version: 1.5.1

UsefulDoes exactly what I wanted..Version: 1.1

Handy and usefulSurprisingly up-to-date; quick and handy logging feature; app continues to improve over the years..keep it up!.Version: 1.6

Great SW AppThe app on my iPad Mini is great when traveling. Easy to use and kept updated with latest scheduling. Well done!.Version: 1.5.1

Shortwave Listening GuideTV Times for the Shortwave listener. Very handy app to have with you at all times to see in an instant what's on where. Paper copies or books no longer required. One button listing update - without any subscription - makes this an app a must-have..Version: 1.3.1

A Must Have for Short WaveI just downloaded it yesterday and have found it to be a powerful tool for any Short Wave enthusiasts. Takes a little while to find all the navigational features, but well explained in the FAQ section. I had been looking for such an app for a while. Glad I found this one. And, an added benefit, it is always current!! ‘73’s WB5LVP.Version: 1.6

Great for beginnersHaving no knowledge of where to start or what to look for, this app is a goldmine of information. I haven’t even had a shortwave set since I was a Boy Scout maybe 60 years ago so I have no memory of even the basics. This is wonderful for anyone with no clue or probably those who know their way around. A great resource well worth 10 times the cost of this app!.Version: 1.6

Great resource and up to dateStrongly recommended for all to desire to monitor the airways..Version: 1.6

Well designedThis is a. Very thoughtfully and well designed app. It not only searches schedules but allows the user to log reception. Read the FAQ to get the most out of it! My only criticism is that the schedules could be more complete..Version: 1.6

Great SWL tool!Works great on iPhone 12..Version: 1.6
