✓ Don’t purchase!I want my money back! After getting the app I didn’t want to yet upgrade but had no choice to do so as I wouldn’t of been able to add anything to my wallet which was the whole point in the app. So I upgraded, it told me in the upgrade there would be no more adverts either but they came back. I also then spent some more money to add my bank to the app so it could really track it, only to find out that it doesn’t have my bank on it and no way of adding it. ✓ Loved it but issues with updateEdit: I’ve been using this app for 5 years but with the new update, I can’t see specific items in the report. This means that while you can see how much you spent on a category, you can’t see exactly what you spent it on. This feature is so important that I’m considering downloading a new app and starting from scratch. ✓ HELPI downloaded the app when I went to register I entered my email and created a password. Then somethings seem to glitch so now if I try to register it tells me my email has already been used. If I try to sign in it just says it can’t load. ✓ Updates when it wants, not when you wantPretty good app in general, giving the closest experience yet to Mint. The biggest drawback however is that it makes updates of your bank account details on its own schedule. This means your transaction data is never up to date when you check it. Mint of course runs an update each time you login, meaning you’re looking at the latest data each time. But kudos for this existing in the first place. ✓ Not IntuitiveAs much as I want to like this app, it’s not intuitive. You can’t backdate to set recurring payments and for some reason the next start of the recurring payments shows as 2 months later. Perhaps the wonkiest part of the app is that the wallet amount is different than the report amount. One shows we have a negative balance whereas the other shows we saved money. 🤦🏻♀️.Version: 5.14.0
✓ Latest update (8.0) destroyed budgetsI’ve been using Money Lover for years but the latest update not only broke all my categories but also deleted all the budgets I had set up. I used to have budgets set for each month for the next 12 months. These have all disappeared since the update. This means all my financial planning has gone and I have to re-do them all as well as remember any non-regular expenses that I had planned for in the future as this app was the only way I had noted and planned for them. The way the budgeting is set up seems to have changed too. I used to have a total budget for each month that I could then click into and see it broken down by categories. It would show any money that had been budgeted for the month that still wasn’t assigned a category as well but now it just lists all categories for all months in one big list. A lot less easy for me to use when I was used to being able to plan each month separately. It also allows the sum of all budgets for the individual categories to be greater than the budget for ‘all categories’. This makes it really difficult for me as I liked to set an overall budget for the month and then break that down into categories. This is no longer possible. Really wish I had not updated as it has really broken all my budgeting. May have to look elsewhere for an app that better meets my needs which is a shame as I had been using this app for many years with no issue..Version: 8.0.0

I also was looking for something to replace the old school “checkbook balance ledger,” so I could enter in expenses/transactions as I make them and always know how much money I have. Basically, I don’t want to have to log into my bank’s app. I entered in a starting balance and also my monthly recurring transactions, but I’ve noticed that they aren’t automatically added on the dates I have specified. I have checked the details I entered - repeat monthly, starting on xxxx date, etc., but still never see the recurring transactions, so I have to enter them in manually and still check my bank’s app for my balance. Also, even though I have entered in a starting date for a recurring transaction, when I save it go to my list of recurring transactions, the list has them starting a month after I indicated, although when I tap the individual setup transaction from the list, it has the correct start date. It’s very confusing. I’ve contacted the developers through the app as well as with the email, but have received no response. I paid the 4.99 premium as you can only have 1 account wallet on free app. I started trying to input data and transactions. I noticed that the graph was registering as having income on one account but showing as NIL in the wallet and no transactions to delete. Error. I also noticed on recurring transactions that it was not stating the next time of money going out but the following time. I realised that it doesn’t work and best not to invest any more time in this. ✓ Not as it used to beThis app is no longer provide an excellent service as it once did. Before I could open a support ticket straight in the app but now it needs to be done via email (clear downgrade in user-friendliness). Second, I almost purchased another year of Bank Link service which displayed error when I tried to link ACB bank with MoneyLover. I then wrote an email to MoneyLover in November 2022 asking when ACB connection will be restored for which they answered that if that happens they would let me know. Of course, I heard back nothing until I wrote asking the status of my request for which they answered that ACB bank problem was fixed. (Thanks for letting me know on time…). Nevertheless, this time I couldnt even find ACB bank in supported bank list. Thus, the support agent didnt even know what’s going on. Such a TERRIBLE experience..Version: 7.11.3

✓ Does not work in Thailand as advertisedI am very disappointed with this app- only a couple of the Thai banks are included and even then they don’t sync, all I can see my balance. No transactions show up in my Thai banks. My UK HSBC account also doesn’t sync as their sign in data for the bank is outdated. Only my PayPal has synced correctly and works. I have contacted customer service a few times but no one has responded. I wish k hadn’t wasted money going premium and hadn’t wasted all that time trying to make it work. ✓ Don't Purchase / Extremely Bad Customer ServiceDownloaded the app, bought one month to add my Bank, but it has never let me add it. Every time you try to add your bank it will ask you to buy it again. So i tried installing it on my old iPhone, iPad and Girlfriend's iPhone, no success, there was no way i could add my bank account. After talking to their customer service back and forward for 4 days (each one of them say something different) i sadly gave up, they will try as hard as they can to make you update your device, login/logout, try another devices and on and on... when in fact the SUBSCRIPTION that we all payed for, should be linked to our E-AMAIL ADDRESS/ACCOUNT and NOT to a physical device. If they don't fix on their end, there is nothing that we can do on our end! Plain simple! So i'm advising you, DO NOT PURCHASE IT, especially one year, YOU ARE GOING TO LOOSE ALL YOUR MONEY as they don't do refund and Apple won't help you with it. My only complaint about the app is that about a month ago I noticed when I select a date for a transaction it would be saved as the day before e.g. I would select 21-Jul-2021 as the transaction date but the screen show 20-Jul-2021 and saves it. ✓ After 9 years… down the pan!I have used money lover for 9 years and until today I would of given it 5 stars without hesitation. Today I went to do a manual backup as I often do. Instead the all decided to log me out, I have no access to my wallets and the password reset is not issuing the email. This is simply put, unacceptable as not only do I have no way of now deleting my private information, I have no way to see what funds are in what wallets without having to access all my bank accounts, stocks and bonds etc…. If this is the status quo going forward then I have no choice but to use another wallet which is incredibly inconvenient and disappointing. To the dev who replied, I’ve been a premium member since day 1. I’ve always had it since it was cheap as chips and it’s stayed with my account ever since . It is your cloud service that screwed it up and how it syncs and locks you out of a profile. Stop adding loads of pointless features and junk and over complicating what was, a very good app. Sort the bugs for sure, but you keep adding features that are not wanted or needed and are essentially bloatware and what’s worse, some of them don’t even work as intended.
