✓ Very nice app - just too expensiveJust spent a little bit of time looking at all the popular RSS feed readers and I recons this could well be one of the best. However, the subscription model just seems like a bit of a rip off. I'd pay a one of fee of £5-£10 for this app. Hope this feed back helps..Version: 5.0.1
✓ Usually goodBiggest complaint is every three months or so they show me ads that crash the app(iPhone X)(probably go away in a few days) And for a while there one was making a shrill high pitched beep(for weeks) To be clear these are their ads and not ones placed in feeds.Version: 7.0.4

✓ Subscription rip offThese guys want a monthly or annual fee just so you can view full texts without pressing a button (only sometimes) and search through old news articles. I've used the previous versions multiple times a day for my news fix but with this current version, I haven't noticed any discernible difference to justify a subscription. Worst still, now they've added ads to something thing I've already paid for... worst upgrade ever.Version: 4.4.1
✓ Not tailored for larger text sizesThe Settings UI is basically unusable if your text size is about the iOS standard. Makes it really hard to use for the millions of people who don’t have 20/20 vision. It’s pretty easy to cater for so it’s not OK that this was missed..Version: 5.0.1
✓ Crashes constantlyI would not hesitate to give this app five stars. But I can’t. The simple reason is that it will not work for more than 10 minutes at a time without constantly crashing. Sometimes I have to restart the app at least three or four times to get through a single article. Newsify would be an absolute winner if it simply didn’t crash. ✓ What happened?Was great until the change from Google Reader, now my subscriptions come and go. Along with their articles. I never know what I will find when I logon now. Stories that I was going to read have disappeared. Whole subscriptions are gone sometimes, then they return, but are empty of articles. Just weird stuff..Version: 2.0.1

✓ Logged out & can't log back onI loved this app so much & used it daily for years. Today I tried to open it on an old iPad & sync with my phone. The ipad only offered the option to sign in via Feedly. When I attempted to sign in with the Feedly account used on my phone, it told there was no such user. Tried on mac & got the same result. Found advice (given by Feedly) saying to log out of all your accounts and then log back in. Which I did... And now cannot access Newsify on any device. Not sure how it's possible I was just logged onto a Feedly account in my phone that now I'm being told doesn't exist. I lost so many saved articles & my whole subscription list. ✓ Awesome up until past monthMy phone is always on silent, so only thing it does for an alert is vibrate. This past month it’s been beeping and it’s a very annoying beep. Took me sometime to figure out that it’s this app that’s beeping. Imagine laying in bed late at night reading the news and the phone is sending out beeps... not cool! Not sure what you folks are trying to gain from this, I’m thinking it’s related to the adds down at the bottom up. We are in an age where we fast forward adds I will simply delete your app off my phone and get my news elsewhere. Thanks.Version: 5.6.1
✓ Used to be goodThe last update (about a week ago) made the app unusable for me on ios. It freezes up every 60 seconds or so when scrolling causing me to constantly relaunch the app to read content. I stuck with it for a week hoping the developers would quickly address a rather glaring bug but no new update came. After 3 years of satisfaction I had to ditch Newsify for an alternative .rss feed reader. Too bad..Version: 7.0.3

✓ Very good app, but has rotten subscription pricing for some featuresVery good news reader. Easy to quickly read headlines. Pull up to mark all as read. Intuitive gestures. Very customizable. It's not perfect-- you can't swipe back out of the Safari view, for instance. Two stars deducted for the subscription based requirement to get full text at times (and other features that should not cost $30/year). I am ok with paying a flat fee, and have already done this, so the subscription requirement is like getting charged more than twice..Version: 4.9
✓ Almost-perfect newsreader.Update 6/9/17 I regret stating in my original review that the built-in ads are "unobtrusive and unobjectionable". Since a recent update, this app has felt the necessity to insert the usual trashy ads in every single news feed, even when wildly inappropriate. When will advertisers and app authors realize that "less is more" when it comes to adverts? Update 27th December: Since the most recent update, Newsify is VERY unstable on my iphone 5/IOS7.1.2. Freezes after loading (certain) pages & won't "kill" cleanly when it does so. I'm sticking with it because it's still the best out there - but darn, this is frustrating! Original review: I came to Newsify as a refugee from Pulse, which since its acquisition by LinkedIn has gone steadily downhill. Newsify, I'm delighted to say, is almost exactly what I want in an RSS reader; simple, clean interface that gives me access to my feeds. Even the in-app ads are unobtrusive and unobjectionable. ✓ A subscription model?You have taken any "premium" purchase that was made a while ago to get rid of advertisements and thrown that out instead of grandfathering the old premium users into the premium model. I can understand the business model change, however the "freemium" business model is not a good one for old customers if those old customers find themselves with a service with a much lower content-to-price ratio..Version: 4.8
✓ Issues with subscriptionsThis app is good overall. You can choose what news agencies to get your news from and have them all in one place. The issues come in when several major news sources only allow you to see 4 articles per month. ✓ ArrowI’m trying to find a new app to use as I don’t like the old one I have used for 5 plus years. I have found a pretty big issue that will have me stop using this app very quickly. I have found the last two times I have used the app when I go into an article the arrow and all the other buttons disappear. No matter what I do tapping scrolling they don’t come back. I don’t want to have to scroll down every story. In order for them to come back I have to force close the app and reopen it. It’s a pretty big and bad issue. The previous news app/ rss reader app I was using I really started to dislike after years of using it. I have tried to find a replacement but after using this app for not even half a day I will be going back to the old one. ✓ Quite goodHas been truly great until the last 3-6 months, when it has begun freezing and crashing more. Not sure why, though I suspect it has something to do with loading big (especially video?) ads. Sometimes I have to restart the app, and less frequently it crashes itself and sends me back to the home screen for a reboot. Needless to say, it never used to do that. ✓ Great set of features — except for one…I'm doing RSS-reader-hopping right now and was intrigued by this one because of all the features. Unlike Feedly, this is a lot like the best of other RSS readers while also having an online account (which I haven't tried yet). First thing I noticed, however, is I cannot import or export OPML files… This is not great. First, I'm not adding 70+ feed URLs one-by-one. 😂 Second, I want to back up my sources. I'm not afraid of the Files app, and I have cloud storage (and USB sticks). Please add OPML import and export! May revise my review if/when I sign up for an online account. The bright side is it's free and, unlike Feedly, no cap on the number of sources for the free account..Version: 6.1.2
✓ Good, but sync between devices is temperamentalAs per the title really... good app that i've been using for years, but getting increasingly frustrated that the sync between my iPhone and my iPad often doesn't work. Sometimes one just won't show any of the articles I've read on one as being read on the other. Other times it's fine. Sometimes each has a slightly different set of articles listed, which given they're both online and I'm pressing the sync button (which seems to work) is just odd. Syncing is definitely enabled, it's definitely got a working web connection, but just doesn't stay in sync. Would be great if the developers could address that in their next update. Only other thing would be having a one-off payment option for the Premium version. Don't like subscriptions for apps, particularly when it's just an RSS reader at heart - a one-off I might pay, but not an ongoing commitment to pay. Will be interesting to see how that model holds up against Apple's own News app later this year!.Version: 4.1
✓ Glitchy and imperfect, but a useful toolNewsify is a good aggregate source. I like being able to categorize my news (politics, science & tech, etc). However, the app freezes and crashes constantly—especially when I shift between apps. Sometimes it will take 4 or 5 re-openings of an article just to get through it while it’s glitching every 30 seconds. Additionally, a lot of trashy, clickbaity articles show up in my world news folders—ones that are not from my list of preferred sources—as well as entertainment articles. I wish there was a way to report that articles are not aligned with my interests/preferences (or are just plain trash) or are in the wrong categories..Version: 5.1.1

✓ Same great app but nonsense subscriptionThe app still functions like it used to but it offers a 'premium' subscription as well now which shows the full text of an article by default. That new feature is great, but it's a FEATURE, not something to justify an annual subscription. If you really want to double dip for money then add it as a one off in-app purchase for the feature. ✓ Used to be great, now crashesThis has been my favorite app for many years, but after a recent update about 6 months ago, it is constantly freezing up and crashing. The app is so great that I still use it, despite it freezing up probably every 3 or 4 minutes, having to exit, and then restart it, but that is only because I have. It been able to find a suitable alternative. I have tried changing settings, reset my phone, but nothing has fixed this issue. Great app otherwise. It seems this would be easy to fix! I really like this app, I find it to be a very quality RSS reader, especially considering competition on iOS isn’t that great. The only real issue I have is that the widget NEVER updates news unless I open the app, no matter how much I use the app to get iOS to prioritize its background activity. ✓ Weird noise now, otherwise goodA recent update has caused a strange sound to occasionally chirp. One review called it a “ca-ching” sound. I have to agree. Sometimes I’ll get multiple sounds over the course of a few minutes, sometimes only once and then it’s quiet for some time. I’d like to know what the sound is.
