✓ No longer workingThis app had been working perfectly, but there seems to have been an update since when the app no longer seems to work. Very annoying after I've bought it!.Version: 1.6.6
✓ Stopped working correctly no response from developerI started using the free version, liked it quite a bit went to the paid version and it was working fine for many months and then all of a sudden stopped taking transcriptions longer than one minute. It just give me an error. I contacted the developer twice via their email app and still not have heard back after several weeks. frustrated that is not working correctly and no one will respond to my request for help..Version: 1.7.2
✓ I want my money backHad high hopes for this app but was disappointed as the voice to text failed multiple times. Paid the $8.99 to transcribe and then submit weekly reports without having to write it out. Attempt after attempt I was received “null” errors and finally gave up. There’s an app on my phone called voice recorder that said it something similar to what I was looking for if I upgraded (with a free trail period) which I did and that worked perfectly. So I’m out the money for Activate Voice but at least I solved my new. Buyer beware of this app!.Version: 1.7.2

✓ Great app - but needs some improvementsI just started using this app, just for voice to text *no translation, and it works great - very few typos! There does need to be some improvements: 1) It records less than 1 minute of text (it needs to be *much* longer - that's only a couple of paragraphs of an email!!) & then it abruptly ends without warning you. So, besides making the length longer, they also need to add a beep sound when it stops recording so you know it's ended, especially if your multitasking & are not watching the screen...like we all do. 2) there is no way of saving your text if you have not finished & all can be easily lost! 3) there's no way to pause it if you get interrupted or need to collect your thoughts. 4) there needs to be a way to teach it your pronunciations or common words (like other voice recognition software) or allow it to save common words you use - like your family names..Version: 1.6.3
✓ I would give a zeroI got this thing for free. Otherwise, had I paid 9.99 I would be having a fit. This thing only catches the odd word if any at all. ✓ Needs Update for new IOS.This is the best voice to text app ever. I gave it one star because it seems to need an update in order to work with the new iPhone IOS. It simply won’t record and reports problems with the cloud. I’ve used it for years and love the app, so its very discouraging that it stopped working. ✓ Frustrated...I just bought the app. $9.99 - so not cheap. I record a few short test sentences and all went ok. Fairly accurate. But then I recorded what I really needed to (likely about 5+ minutes of talking), and talked less than 2 minutes, and every time, I get an error message and everything I said was lost and didn't get recorded. Nothing. What happened? It's impossible to even find out or ask questions. There's no instructions link. There's no troubleshooting link. There's no contact for support link. Nothing. As a disabled person, I was excited to find this app. It would help me immensely. But right now, I feel I got screwed. $10 may not be a lot to some, but to others, it's can be everything and can change their lives immeasurably..Version: 1.6.6

There is nothing on the website listing the commands used for dictating, example; "new paragraph" works but so many common sense commands don't. ✓ Should have taken notice of last reviewIt does not allow you to stop and amend as other apps do. I was happy with 1 I bought called speak and send which was only 69 p but I thought the email facility on this would be good. Without the stop recording and then add to its useless also no auto stop recording which other has. Accuracy of picking up recording also not as good as 69p app. There are absolutely no instructions or help and the face book functions just says error. All this for 2.49 not a lot but I feel robbed all the same. I am impartial and not connected to any of the producers. ✓ Garbage 111Very disappointed with this app. My biggest issue is it is no good for long dictation. With the active text screen open, once the page is full the page does not scroll up and you can not see what text you are dictating without stopping to minimizing the keyboard. Also found the fact that you cannot see the text queuing as you speak rubbish, Then having stop and wait for text to load is "rather annoying". If you want to save what you’ve recorded it needs to be shared somehow. ✓ Don't waste your money!!!Frustrating to say the least. No way of correcting the mistakes the app makes without having to do it manually, and it always makes mistakes. Cannot access the address book with speech, need to do it manually so driving and messing around with your phone is still a reality. ✓ Like it when it worksThis is a great time-saver, especially when recording my diary. However, too often it says "try again". It doesn't punctuate well, and it confuses quite a lot of words which I then have to correct..Version: 1.6.3
✓ Good at it's core, rough on the edgesThe speech recognition in this application is good. For me, it seems to be some of the best I've used. I particularly like that it will process large blocks of speech, rather than halting in the middle when I pause to gather my thoughts. But, saving text is precarious. I've accidentally deleted long passages by closing the application or just the document. I must be very diligent about saving blocks of text promptly. It's like the olden days of hitting CMD-S every few sentences when writing in Word so that a crash wouldn't wipe out much work. And, "yes, I walked five miles to school uphill both ways... in the snow. So you kids better stay off my lawn!" Yeah, the aspects of this application for saving text do make me feel like the grumpy old man I've become. And, even though this application is updated frequently, this significant downside has not been addressed. The core speech recognition function is great..Version: 1.7.0
✓ Sometimes it works…I paid $10 for this app and I have gotten about five dollars or somewhat less worth of value. When it works, it does a reasonably good job of translating my voice, about 90 to 95% accuracy. But three times in the past week I have dictated A fairly long note and at the end received a message “ Error in cloud transmission“ and the whole message was lost. I see that Nuance company is a contributor and my experience with them has been abysmal. Think PaperPort and Dragon Dictate. Both of these programs had much promise and started out well but the customer service was so poor and the lack of progress in the company Was so invisible that I had given up on both. ✓ Extremely useful but freezes and crashesThe app is extremely useful as my job is busy and fast paced. The more you use the app the another it becomes as in terms of dictation and voice recognition. The reason I haven't been using it is that it doesn't allow the user to save the texts as a file, not save it to an existing file. I bought this app so I could easily take notes as I review properties for sale, then file the notes for future reference. ✓ Barebones speech to text app that lacks basic featuresTranslating speech to text is fairly accurate and fast (American English) but overall this is a very barebones app. Curse words (I had to try) are sta**ed which is silly but not a deal break by any stretch. The app lets you send text to e-mail, SMS or iMessage and Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp, but there is no way to easily save your text other than copying and pasting it into a Notes.app note or another text document. When the app is closed the recorded text is deleted so you can't take a break and continue where you left off. Built in iOS dictation offers more features than this app and I wouldn't pay money for this product (it was a free promotion when I obtained it)..Version: 1.6.3
✓ Good, but needs improvementGreat app, but it's annoying that you can't do full stops of a meaning, you have to add them manually after. Plus when you dictate a longer text, the end of the text is not visible anymore on the screeb and you have to switch off the keyboard to see it - then the page automatically loads to the top - so you need to scroll all the way down to the bottom to find your last sentence. ✓ Mixed emotionsI love the app and it’s functionality. I like speaking and seeing what I said on screen. Then being able to edit any mistakes or mis-interpreted words, then being able to continue. However, the app easily loses connection then freezes up and loses everything you have written. I learned this the hard way losing my daughter’s whole wedding speech that I had written. It was a masterpiece if I do say so. I never had a bigger kick in the gut then when the app froze and I lost everything. Fortunately, I had most of it in my heart and I winged it. I was told it was beautiful. But I still feel the one I wrote was better. I was bitterly disappointed.
