Rhythm Calculator - Advanced rhythm trainer and metronome for Positive User Reviews

Boom!!Great app, really helpful, would recommend to anyone who is in to music...Version: 2.0.1

Functionality of this appThis app works as an answer key to basically any rhythm in any time signature you need help with and is missing basically nothing (has all options for time signature, tuplets, and articulation styles including ties). An amazingly helpful app to the rhythmically struggling!!.Version: 2.1.2

A great, simple appI find this app to be a really useful tool when transcribing. It includes loads of different rhythms, rests and tuplets, and you can change tempo and time signatures. It's dead simple to use - just insert the rhythm like a calculator. I sometimes find that the screen showing the rhythms doesn't show enough of the entered rhythm, but you can scroll along as the rhythm plays. Some of the beams of the rhythms connect together in an awkward or incorrect way. Anyways, this a great app - and it's free!.Version: 1.1

Great app! Just one thing. This app is great. I bought it seeing that it looked good and had good reviews. I worked great! Until I reached my problem. I had 2 rhythms saved, and next time I went on the app, they were both were gone!.Version: 2.1.2

Please make compatible for iOS 9The app crashes halfway through a measure. This could be a very useful app if it only worked..Version: 2.1.2

Great, but hurts my OCD in one way. When I create a tuplet, the bracket is only above the first two notes/pulses. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Also, an option for conventional tuplet notation would be nice..Version: 2.1.2

IOS standard for Rhythm appsThis is quality app and never had any problems with it. Everything is nicely laid out and works as expected. Very well executed..Version: 2.1.2

Great app, almost thereIt's a great app, love practicing with it - 4 stars. Would love to see multitask ability (sounds shut off when my screen sleeps) and a swing function before I rate it 5 stars. Thanks for the app, keep it up.Version: 2.1.2

Just what I neededI am a returning trumpet player, and was having a hard time negotiating the rhythm especially on pieces that included eighth, sixteenth, doted notes etc. This app has been a jewel. Recommendation: add the ability to number the measures..Version: 2.1.2

Just what I've been looking for!I often find myself looking at sheet music and realizing that I'd be better off if I could hear the rhythm rather than just seeing it on paper. This app allows exactly that. Love it!.Version: 2.1.2

EpicRhythm Calculator is like the best app ever. I feel like somebody just gave me music in my brain. It took a little while to figure out how to work it but I can now literally note rythms digitally. It's SO FREAKING AWESOME AND LIBERATING..Version: 2.1

Great, but some suggestionsThis is an incredibly useful and versatile app, and I was very pleased to find this. I wish I had found it sooner, as I regularly work with odd rhythmic groupings. When you come up against one you're not sure about, it can be very difficult to work it out. This app jumps to the rescue, and let's you hear the rhythm with the pulse and allows you to internalise it. I do have some suggestions, however, to improve the user experience. 1. Introduce a "keep screen on" feature. I have found that, when practising along to a rhythm, the iPad auto lock activates and silences the app. I would like to be able to have the app keep the iPad open without having to change the settings on my iPad. 2. Enable us to change the default sounds. Every time you create a new rhythm, the sound defaults to a grand piano for the rhythm playback, and a hi-hat for the pulse. You then need to manually navigate a long list to change the sound. I would like to be able to select the default sounds for new rhythms. 3. Pulse marker - it would be very useful to introduce a feature that visually marks the beat, which coincides with the audio cue. 4. Stability improvements. I have experienced a few crashes within the first few minutes of use. iPad retina, iOS 8. Overall, a great app that will become a regular part of my practice. With the improvements, and maybe a slight graphical facelift (it isn't the best looking app around and the interface is a little clumsy), it would be a true 5 star app..Version: 2.1.2

It’s an Ok AppI mean it does what it says and it’s pretty good it’s just I can’t figure out slurs on here I can only do ties but overall I’m not really disappointed.Version: 2.1.2

KC🎸Had some issues of the application freezing up prior to the 9.2 update. Great application since 9.2 update. Works great.Version: 2.1.2

Great AppI'm interested in seeing a few improvements to this app if possible. 1)A clearer way to write triplets based on the duration you initially want. So you want a triplet quarter note in the duration of a half note then it would allow you to write that. Current version isn't quite there for the more complex rhythms. 2) a way to accelerate and decelerate to a new tempo would be useful. 3)Being able to write a sudden tempo change half way through the excerpt. 4)change what that speed is based on. Instead of always having a quarter note be the measure it would be nice to be able to use in 8th or 16th. 5)Having the pitch of the beat change would help when trying to keep in a key. Instead of a drone it would be a pitched beat. 6) polyrhythm writing by adding another line that is completely independent from the first. This would help percussionists with more complex works. That's a just a few things I think would help this app. It's useful as is but it could be a lot better. Still 5 stars..Version: 2.1.2

Love this appReally handy tool. Love it. :).Version: 2.1.2

It works again!!!I used to love this app but I had to give it a 1 star review in November because it completely stopped working. I'm very happy to say that it is working again with 9.2. Really great app for writing out and listening to rhythms..Version: 2.1.2

A must for music teachers, pupils and enthusiastsJust the app I was looking for to help me improve my sight reading. A perfect accompaniment for any musician. I have been looking for something like this for ages and v2.0 is definitely an improvement. Love it!.Version: 2.0.1

The curser doesn't workAMAZING app. i love the idea. there is a bug in the editing system, it doesn't move when it is dragged. sometimes it will bounce to the front, but it wont follow where the user moves it. besides that, excellent app..Version: 2.1.2

Within the first hour.....I finally have rhythms worked out for several of my in-progress compositions! Phenomenal tool to test out, write out and play out your rhythms in you own music or that really difficult part in the song you're working on. Doubles as a unique metronome and fantastic compositional tool. Check out the website, it's a great overview..Version: 2.1.2

Great training app and resourceEasy to use, great app. Simple format, playback is concise and helpful. As a long term pianist, I find this more useful than any other aid or metronome. Comes into its own when learning small phrases of complex music. Would have been great to have when I was learning years ago! Highly recommend..Version: 2.0.1

Awesome app!I've been wanting an app like this for ages! Really helps with my sight-reading when I get stuck practicing on my own. Great app!.Version: 2.0.1

Great toolSame layout as the ios calculator, exactly what I was after..Version: 1.1

Amazing!!This app is amazing and I love it, but I noticed one mistake. A whole rest is supposed to be under the line and a half rest is on top. In the app, the whole rests are on top and the half rests on the bottom which is wrong. Other than this I love this app..Version: 2.1.2

Exactly what I was looking forGreat app for my rhythm training class. Everything is laid out for you. It took me a second to figure out how to get back to the screen where I could erase notes, but it didn't take long to find out how. Highly recommended for music students!.Version: 2.1.2

Great Rhythm Aid!!!Thank you so much for creating Rhythm Calculator! I’ve been looking high and low on the App Store for this application. It’s difficult, if not impossible, for a student to be insured that their Sight-Reading is correct when learning to sight-read. This app enables students and pros alike to insure that their reading is accurate!.Version: 2.1.2

It's greatI use it all the time as a high school music student learning new rhythms in class.Version: 2.1.2

LOVE ITIt really helps me visualize the sheet music. Maybe a way to add a different sound, like a marching sound or bass hit..Version: 2.1.2

Tap TempoI originally downloaded to test some weird rhythms, and it worked well. A utilitarian app. I generally open it now when I am having a panic attack, and I use the tap tempo to get my heart rate. It reminds me my heart is probably not exploding..Version: 2.1.2
