✓ Great app, but annoying rollback of features in recent updateThis is a review about the recent change to "Your Library". Generally these changes are a substantial UI improvement and navigating between various views is far more intuitive now that the notion of a my library home page, with all relevant shortcuts to artists, podcasts,... only available there. the only issues I’ve run into as of yet are 1. the lack of the a-z navigation scroll bar in the Albums section and 2. the lack of a move to front list of recently played albums. re 2. however, I feel this may actually be useful toward encouraging people to diversify their listening, as the design of defaulting to recently played in my experience makes it difficult to spend time finding something I’d like to listen to (either new or archived in my albums section) when my attention is already so contested by everything else. so yeah, I actually like what I said was my second complaint, and thinking back had thought about that before. being able to scroll quickly through the albums seems like a good interaction to keep, however..PhoenixBirdCityVersion: 8.5.7

✓ Where is the Apple Watch love?!?!Love, love, love this app... it’s literally the app I use most of the time and has become my trusty companion. As such, I travel a lot in and out of signal areas, and remote locations so I appreciate the offline downloads. Two things however; When are the developers going to take the hint, that people with Apple Watch want to download and stream without a phone. If your development goes on peer votes, then there must be a huge number of people wanting this! And you know, this would truly kill Apple Music entirely (and since the API is now open for development, they can’t stop it). Secondly... it’s super annoying when the app re-downloads my music playlists over and over, and daily. I’m not too bothered by the download itself, it’s the fact that you have to have the app open, and active for the downloads... is there anything that can be done to address this?! ✓ Amazing amount of free music; could use some work on "made for you" playlistsIt's very easy to use, and has literally every song I've tried to find (including some extremely obscure ones). I only have two complaints. One is that in the playlists that the app creates for you, it tends to only play songs that you have already listened to multiple times (in shuffle lol) or popular, similar ones. If I follow an artist, there should be an option to mix their more obscure music with the popular stuff. If a playlist is "made for me," it should be able to play whatever it is I like, whether it's a superstar's most popular hit songs, or the most obscure songs released by a guy with 500 listeners. It's not a radio station; it only has to cater to the tastes of one specific person. Secondly, there should be a way to add, if not entire artists, then at least full albums to playlists that you're creating from the app. I follow over fifty artists, and if I like all of their music, I don't want to add all 3000+ of their songs individually. ✓ Love it but..This app is awesome! I love how you can listen to your own music, and share it. But I don’t like how it adds music to your playlist, and won’t let you remove it. I don’t get that I really hope you fix it soon. Also, when I only want to listen to my music it makes me listen to a suggested track that I can’t get out of. What is with that? And, there is too many ads. And only 6 skips per HOUR?! Why? And, when my playlist is making me listen to other songs, I have to go to a different playlist, listen to 1 song in it, come back to my playlist, and there it is. another song I don’t need. ✓ Ideas I wantGreat but hey can it be changed that if u keep a playlist on for all the songs in the playlist it doesn't repeat songs then miss some bc there's a few I keep repeating but heaps that haven't been played in ages. The shuffle play needs to move to the next unplayed song if there is any and that can change every time you change the playlist that's on. This also happens bc when you're on a playlist then you turn of the app for a bit it doesn't remember the song you were on and just starts from the beginning which I don't like. ✓ The ups and downsI would say the app is absolutely amazing but I have premium and I would definitely say it’s worth it because you can get all of the music that you love just like it is meant to. Although if you are not premium and on the 30 day trial which is what I had for a while and I thought that was really good in till it ended. When it ended I was really annoyed because I forgot that u have to pay to have it download and have to go back and have to pay for everything and have adverts. So I would recommend that if you are going to download this app I would recommend paying for the premium other whose u can download it and have the 30’s free trial and than delete or then switch to premium. ✓ Daily drive algorithms glitchyThis is a good app, I use it everyday and subscribe to premium. I’d give it 5 stars if only the daily drive worked more effectively but it’s filled with issues. First, there are no options for news choices, yes, the abc is a no brainer, but what happened to the squiz and betoota? They’re both excellent! Love me Betoota news! And why can’t I choose to remove some of the lousy news broadcasts selected for me? And why not allow me to select news sources from overseas? Second, and this has made it hardly worth even bothering with, it chooses the same fifty or so songs everyday. Most of which have been deselected long ago, but they still show up, so what I end up with is a dozen songs I really like but would rather not hear every single day and a bunch of boring headlines I could read in a Murdoch rag with no real presenter charm or depth. ✓ Reasonably goodThe app isn’t inherently bad, in fact I like it a lot. The only problem I have is the fact that when you create a playlist, songs are automatically put into it based on what you listened to; which in theory sounds good but it doesn’t work properly. E.g I was looking for a song I thought I found it, but it wasn’t the song I was looking for, the song was an anime style song, I thought nothing of it. But when I looked in my playlist 10 new songs appeared in my playlist that I did not want to listen to at all and it took a while for me to change the recommended songs. ✓ Good but ...Ok so had this app for ages and tbh a very good place to listen to your favourite songs and podcasts (even with out premium) But heals way through my songs it would just cut off and fully shut down the app I am premium so I would not expect this to happen I have had this app with every phone/device I have had and I also share a account with my family members . ✓ Shuffle play only for people with the free plan... really?!?!!I really do like this app and it’s cool music but I have one problem with it. People that don’t have a premium membership (have a free plan) are only able to play songs by shuffle playing. You use to be able to choose whatever song you would want to listen to on your playlist and you could shuffle play too but now you are only able to shuffle play if you don’t have the premium membership, and also, when I tap on the list of all of my songs in my playlist and I find a song that I want to play, it only plays a preview of the song. I think the shuffle play is kinda dumb because whenever I shuffle play it and my last song on my playlist stops playing (because the song is over) it moves on to a new song that I haven’t added to my playlist and whenever I hit the button that says “Shuffle Play” it controls if the song is paused or playing. I tried exiting out and reopening the app but the song is still there and acts as if it’s in my playlist. I would give this app 5 stars if it weren’t for the shuffle play only thing. ✓ Amazing app.One of the best apps I’ve ever got, this app helps me deal with my anxiety and I can express myself listening to all different songs, and finding songs that are from movies!! ✓ SO GOOD but the tiniest things that I (for some reason) needI love this app! I literally use it every day since my dad got us a family deal(or something? idk.) There are just the tiniest things that kinda bug me when making playlists. I love the fact we finally got the ability to import images on mobile, it’s made it so much easier to make an aesthetically pleasing(?) playlist, but sometimes I get bothered by the fact that, if I DO decide to import an image, sometimes the background color for my playlist is like puke green. Idk how the app chooses the colors for each playlist, but I think it’d look a lot better if you just gave us a color wheel to choose our own color. I also wish it was easier to search for music (with lyrics or even different variations of the song name) multiple times have I been searching for a song using either, the one verse of the song I remembered, or a botched song name. Usually, if I remember any of the lyrics it will show up. Somehow it feels like every time I look up a song name and there’s even one word wrong, it won't show up. Also would love a ‘fast forward’ or ‘rewind’ button like what you have on podcast apps so that you can skip through 15sec at a time instead of trying to scroll to a certain point clumsily with your fingers on a tiny dot. ✓ My queue doesn’t work properly..Not gonna lie this is a solid app and is one I use pretty much daily and premium is cheap and well worth it, however recently I’ve noticed that my music queue doesn’t work as well as it used, by that I mean I can queue songs but sometimes I like to change the order the songs have gone in so I go and move all the songs around but when the next song comes on, it never plays in the order I put it in. ✓ Bluetooth/wired connection to car, library formatI always connect to my scion ia via bluetooth, sometimes I plug the wire in so that it can charge while I drive, and for some reason, like half the time, buttons like "like" or "add to playlist" or "make playlist private" or "delete playlist" etc just do NOT work at all. I click and theres no visual feedback. I check and the song was not liked and the plaulist was not deleted. Sometimes it marks songs as "liked" and I never liked it before. This is stupid. Sometimes I just want to park and listen to music and want to use those features at the same time and I can't for no apparent reason. Please fix it. It's frustrating and also makes me feel crazy bc I thought I liked a song or added to a playlist and turns out it just never went through. Or I hit add to playlist and it actually does do it, BUT gives me no visual feedback or confirmation, doesn't ask me "this song is already in the playlist", nothing. ✓ My app is having issuesI’ve used this app A LOT. I remember a feature about a year ago where it showed you the lyrics on all of the songs, but it caused my app to crash every time I played a song. It would play the song halfway through and then crash and I would go back into the app and it had restarted the song. It would do this in a cycle until I skipped the song because I couldn’t handle hearing the first half of the song on repeat anymore. Occasionally it would work for one or two songs but that only happened rarely. Basically I could only hear half songs because the app kept crashing, and then I would use up all six of my skips and have to turn off the app. And I was SO relieved when after multiple months of suffering through this. Music means more to me now than it has ever, and here’s why im writing this; because I woke up this morning and saw that the lyric feature was back. I was very excited because I was hoping they had brought it back because they fixed the bugs it caused. Sadly the first song I tried to play made the app crash. Links seamlessly to my headphones, my car, Alexa, my smart TV, etc. But most importantly, it's all about the music. Almost every song, artist and album can be found, as well as suggestions for something new. Only criticisms are the Discover playlist algorithm which can get stuck in one genre endlessly with no method of resetting. And it would be nice to have one playlist on the free app, even with a max of say 15-20 songs, ads at the end if the list. But both are minor. The app probably grabs data but in the era of horrid social media, trolling and online abuse, just keeps it about the music. For starters when you play a song it gets a little ways into it and then it goes to the next song. What I was not expecting was the ongoing problem of listening to a playlist for it to all of a sudden cut off saying “video is unavailable “ or something like that sometimes when an ad comes on. I’ve deleted the app, reinstalled it. It did go away at one point after an update but it’s back. It’s annoying because I either have to hope it didn’t interrupt my playlist to the point I have to start again or listen to a different playlist and hope the same thing doesn’t happen there. ✓ Good but could be betterI’m rating this app three stars because overall it’s quite a good app - you can listen to lots of songs, download podcasts for free, and they have almost every song, but sometimes the adverts can be really annoying and long for the free version, and also I really don’t like the fact that it doesn’t always work on mobile data. It would help with being able to select a mass number of playlists to easily delete. It would also be good to have a similar feature with adding songs. If there were a button that allowed you to add the same song to multiple playlists at once, instead of having to go through each playlist and add the song individually. Also, it would be good if in a playlist you could organize where each song goes like if you want to organize it alphabetically or something on mobile. Finally, it would be nice if you could add a way to view the amount of streams an album has, or make it easier to see. It’s really annoying when you want to play a song so you search it up but the result is a playlist including the song and because it’s a playlist, you have to listen on shuffle and you also have limited skips so you can’t skip to the song you want. What is happening is that when I press on one of my playlists I am not able to pick my songs. I’m even okay with the only six skips an hour thing because I’m not picky and I have multiple playlists I can listen to. I like how when i click on my profile in the top left the menu now provides a better looking UI, easier to get to my settings. Another newish thing I loved is when i add a new song to a playlist, it’s a check the playlists instead of only being able to add it to one playlist at a time, definitely a time saver. Now for some new tweaks. I would like to see more customization with the quick swiping right or left on a song. There should be a setting to be able to change what a swipe left or a swipe right means instead of it always being queuing a song or liking it. The other feature I would like added is to be able to change the order on how your playlists display on your public profile. Let’s be honest, there are definitely better playlists that are created than others. I feel like this could be done two different ways. ✓ Good, but…The app is very popular, and probably the best rated out there, if you’re on a bigger device, like a Laptop or PC, I would mostly recommend using it there. When your on a smaller device, like a phone, as someone who doesn’t have premium, it can be very annoying. It may add extra songs in a playlist, wether you’ve listened to them or not. I like listening to music when I’m writing something, or doing homework, but the song adding irritates me and I always get distracted due to this problem. When I have my laptop around me, for example at home, I might put music in the background while doing an assignment. The adds aren’t too bad in my opinion, they don’t last too long or pop up too often, but you can only switch songs a few times a day, and even then it doesn’t chose a song from that playlist. I do not have too many complaints since it is free and if you are uncomfortable with the free version of the app, there is always the free version. ✓ Great but...At the time of writing this, I have some annoyances with the app. Number one being that there is a major crashing problem with this app. I am pretty confident it is not my phone due to it still being fairly new (IPhone 8). You used to be able to go into an artist album and look at the songs and preview play them, now you can’t, this is extremely annoying when I’m trying to preview songs to add to my playlists. ✓ Pretty good but...It’s a pretty good app, you can get a lot of music and make your own playlists so that’s nice. It also has good sound quality and does it’s best to stabilize sound so you don’t get really jarred by the start of a new song. My complaints are that there is a bug that just stops your music even when your internet connection is great. It often happens when your phone screen is locked, and sometimes when you open your phone and go to the app it has completely crashed, other times it has just paused it for some reason. My other complaint is more trivial, and it is about the auto play of recommended songs. I understand that the app is designed to act like a radio station, where you can’t really choose which songs you play and some will be played that are relating to the genre. However, I just really hate this feature, especially when I am playing songs from a artist that I really like however it is in a genre that I generally hate. ✓ Just one suggestionI love this app and don’t use anything else for my music, but one feature that I really liked from other music streaming apps is that every song that you have added to a playlist (or from a playlist you have downloaded) goes into your song folder. I love having it this way so I can shuffle all the music currently on my phone instead of only the albums/songs that are not part of a playlist. ✓ Love it but....Why I like this app: I like it how you guys have made playlists and let us just pick a song and not just shuffle play well... most of them. Also you don’t have too be premium too use this app ( and please keep it like that because some people don’t have enough money or just don’t wanna waste it on something you should be able too use free). ✓ AmazingThis app is so good. You can listen to whatever you want whenever. If you connect headphones, it automatically appears in your recent app bar in the bottom of the screen. This is very useful because I get lost in my app folders. I listen to lots of music, and I’ve only ever not been able to find two songs, but one was a meme and the other was a remix. I highly recommend this app if you want to listen to music. If an app cancels it out, you can just swipe down at the top right and press the play button and it comes right back. ✓ What have they done, this was my favourite app until...This was my favourite app of all time, until 2018 when the app became just unusable to use on any phone under the sun. It still working great on my MacBook Pro for now, but why did they charge the app for iPhones. This new version is so bad that it kills any enjoyment and is just impossible to use with my iPhone (for the free or paying version.) If it’s not broke, then don’t fix it. Will it’s broken now and has gone from being the best music app ever made to the worst by letting problems into its settings that where not there go begin with. ✓ Free IPad And windows versionThe app is amazing on my IPad and pc. The app has a large library of music from many genres, The audio quality is very good on almost all songs, and the advertisements are not too long and frequent. This review Only applies to most IPads and windows computers though as anything with a screen under a certain size ( for example my Galaxy A10 which has a screen size of 5.5 inches or so) cannot choose the exact the song they want to play. Instead you must shuffle randomly through the album the song belongs to in the hope of finding it, you only get a certain amount of song skips per day without premium. ✓ Amazing but....This app is literally the best thing EVER!!!! (No joke). I love that I can listen to heaps of music whenever I want for FREE! A lot of people say that premium is a complete waste of money, but honestly it is such a good spend. You will not be disappointed. The one slight problem that I have is that for the sleep timer settings, you can only choose from 5mins, 10mins, 15mins, 30mins, 45mins and 1 hour. Their should be a custom setting, where you set your own sleep timer. For example, some nights, I want my podcast or music to play for 2 hours, but I can only have 1 hour. Please fix this. ✓ Amazing app, but a few critiques…Lots of amazing songs to choose from and it’s really easy to make playlists and find what music you like best. Although, sometimes when trying to listen to a specific song or artist it will recommend you a song based off of what you are listening to. Although it’s nice to branch out sometimes it’s also important to me to listen to the music I wanna hear in the moment and not similar songs. I also think that for the price premium is set at it’s not exactly worth the money. They could give more opportunities to interest more people into buying premium and not just what’s already given. Also, on some less commonly streamed songs they do not include lyrics like they would with popular songs. I get that it might be difficult to add lyrics but they should give smaller artists the same privileges as larger and more commonly known ones. Overall it’s still a great app and I love to use it to listen to both music,podcasts, and subliminal to help with sleep. ✓ Please add manual payThis app is great, took me a few years to convert from Apple Music but now that I have i would not go back. However, the one downside to this app is that its impossible to manually pay your bill. Which is crazy annoying because it’s like a game of cat and mouse I’ll have money in my account and try and pay but it won’t let me. Then when they finally try take money out a few days later I won’t have the money in the right account and it seems like an unending loop.
