The retro look to the game gives it a nice edge and goes together well with the varied and interesting survival levels and game types. The randomness of events is what really makes this game great, one minute everything is fine and the next minute one of your crew is missing, another breaks their arm, the third is infected by one of the many diseases in the game and you run into a horde of zombies. ✓ FunThis is a fun little game, it reminds me of playing Yukon Trail as a kid on my family’s first PC. There’s an annoying bug though where the game locks up after the final boss. I am able to reload, fight him AGAIN and then finish but it’s pretty annoying, especially after spending $6, that the devs won’t fix it. Also, the rating at the end of the game doesn’t take into account surviving party members or time elapsed in game, which seems silly. Otherwise, great game.Version: 2.0.4

✓ Great gameThis is an amazing game and so far I am living but one thing I thought should be added is the ability to walk. Gor instance my car broke down when I was just out of chicago and I kept thinking 'if I could walk back to chicago then mabye if I did aome scavanging I could find a new car' Some ideas I had would be you walk at a slower speed when walking than The slow pace on the car. You use up 1.5x the amount of food than normal when walking and when your car does break down you can chose to walk foreward or back. Other than yhat it is a great game..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Best Game Nov. 2019!!!Best game on App Store! Download this now! Just like Oregon Trail! I loved it! I recommend beating the game with just the $2.99 app with no expansions bought! I liked the original way best I believe but who knows... I may edit this and say otherwise after beating it again on the expansions side... But to me, the original “Organ Trail” at 2.99 felt more scary and I was more enthrawled in my story. Very creepy soundtrack! Soundtrack tends to change in the expansions which I don’t care for due to the mood set in the game.... and you can choose paths in expansion, but honestly I prefer the $2.99 and having to use the station wagon! It is well thought out, fun, challenging, with a wide variety of mini games. I started out with what I thought was a ton of supplies, bituminous quickly got into the "survival" part of the game as my car broke down and I had to scavenge for food to survive long enough to find someone willing to trade for a new tire. Great game! Well worth the money. I'll admit that I'm not the best at long-haul survival games, but I think that's what made it more satisfying making it all the way to the end. One suggestion is to keep adding more variety to weapons and more cool Easter eggs. Also, the end and maybe a few other select moments offer unique combat that I found more fun than the usual grind. ✓ Oregon Trail...with zombies! Yes!Being from the “Oregon Trail Generation” I loved playing the original Oregon Trail on the old apple computers as a kid and now the adult me can play Organ Trail on iOS! These developers took the gameplay of the original Oregon Trail and made it more geared towards adults by adding zombies, bandits, and a dark survival twist to it! Instead of “hunting” now it’s “scavenging”, instead of “fording” it’s “sneaking through horde”. The music is a fantastic mix of ominous rocking chiptunes, synth, and real instruments, and the gameplay is a great balance of being incredibly fun and challenging, you really have to manage your resources just like the original Oregon Trail! If you’ve played Death Road to Canada (also influenced by Oregon Trail), you’ll love this! Organ Trail plays much closer to the original Oregon Trail (it even has keyboard click sounds, yes!) and is much darker than Death Road, as Organ Trail does not have the wacky humor nor the character customization depth as Death Road (Organ Trail does have some dark humor moments though and you can unlock characters “skins” if you’ve purchased the add-on). Honestly, I love both games, and anyone who likes zombie survival games (especially with a retro look) will love this game, Buying the add-ons is a no-brainer (heh) and TOTALLY worth it! 5 stars!!!!!!!!!.Version: 2.0.4

✓ A non game breaking bugWhen you play the intro and run out of ammo, Clements comes on, you lose all ammo, nothing happens, and when the zombies reach you, all the fail screens for regular zombie encounters, and the game over text appear. You then are sent to the menu and when hitting continue, you have a full party, no resources, no one, including yourself are not named. It doesn't affect me, but it's just weird. My only suggestion is to contextualise some of the random events a little more - I realise my friend T-Pain (I named all my group after rappers) broke his arm and got bitten by a zombie, but it could be cool to know how and why. You can no longer investigate events which are going on in the distance, fire your way through the zombie horde, kill a member of your party if they are called "Ryan", and you are constantly hit with a screen-blocking pop-up whenever you kill a zombie. The addition of multiple characters and weapons, as well as a few other improvements, are great, but I won't be buying the Final Cut expansion until these issues are dealt with. ✓ End of game bug is only complaintThe game is effectively the best version of Oregon Trail on IOS. The apple arcade version is kinda trash. If you're okay with the zombie theme it's the best recreation of the game even down to the art style. Only complaint is the game locks up when reaching safe haven if youve fought the boss before hand(happened on normal and hard for me, which is weird because I thought the boss was only even there on hard and up). The first time I played on normal and the boss wasn't there, the game ended just fine. Having your game crash right at the end is always a bummer and it's happened to me twice now. Even my fellow sailors have started playing. There is one problem though once you defeat the final boss at Safe Haven you’re given the onscreen message “You entered safe haven. Tap anywhere to continue” but when you tap anywhere nothing happens. The hot fix is to restart the app but even then you only receive your bonus for distance travelled and nothing else. And that’s only after fighting the final boss a second time. This bug seems to be 3 years old maybe older. I love this game and I would love it even more if this were fixed. ✓ Retro Blast From The Past!This game reminds me of a classic, scratch that, retro blast from the past, with the brilliance of all 80s horror titles in a single 8-bit game. I really enjoyed the sophisticated aspect of food rations, fuel levels and scavenging for anything I could find to keep my group alive - sadly, I felt this game had some odd aspects, such as travelling in the car, suddenly everyone would get a broken arm or be suffering from dysentery... Another very sad aspect was the job opportunities in most towns. Such as taking care of a gang held up in a building; I would waste 15 ammo in trying to perfectly time my shots on the carnival style shoot out, to then be rewarded 4 ammo... Sad to say, some aspects need a good upgrading, but overall it's an entertaining complex survival strategy - described at best. With only yourself as leader doing all the hard work in your group, whilst everyone else seemingly does nothing; literally. So if you're willing to do all the fighting, scavenging, healing, rationing, euthanising, bargaining, repairs and you don't find yourself going bonkers at the end of it all, this is most worthy of your coin. Overall, this game is great! Just sort out the oddities that need tweaking and give members of your group the option to perform jobs!
