✓ Good app, but....This is a pretty good app but....I find myself not using it as much as I’d like to even though I paid for it. The issue for me is that when you input a dollar amount for example, $5.89 or $5.99 it will round it up to the nearest dollar ($6.00) and because of this the app then starts to reflect the wrong dollar amounts that you have available in your accounts. My concern is that using this app for budgeting my finances will reflect in me over drawing my account all because the app rounds up to the nearest dollar therefore it shows I have more money available than I really do. Also because of this, it makes it difficult to reconcile your financial accounts each month..Version: 3.7.1

✓ Nice except exported reports are useless for spreadsheetsThis would be perfect except when you export the data in CSV etc., it isn’t just a raw list of transactions with date, category, and amount on every row, that you could then use. It has the category totals on a row after a variable number of rows depending on how many individual transactions there were. And the category name only appears on one row, apart from its transactions. So you can’t use a sumif function to get just a list of category sums, without all of the other individual amounts cluttering them up, to then do other analyses with. You can’t use the individual amounts or the category totals for any automated analysis, like vlookup, index/match, or anything, because of the variable number of rows without any category names being on the row. So you can’t use this for a spreadsheet that shows your cost of living over months and years, or anything really useful beyond just one month. This could have been so useful, with so little effort..Version: 3.7.1

✓ Great app, some suggestionsGreat app. Have been using for years on and off. Four suggestions: 1) Don’t delete the transaction when you delete the budget 2) Don't categorize transfers as income! Transfers between two accounts should be budget neutral. 3) There should be an option for a default filter when viewing reports. ✓ Indispensable!I don’t remember if I paid anything for this app or not; if I didn’t I should have and if I did it was worth it! I switched to this app about 5 years ago after another financial app I used for many years stopped being supported. Once I made the adjustment to this one I was completely happy with the functionality and the additional features it offers. I use it to keep track of my checking account, multiple savings accounts, retirement accounts and annuities. ✓ Best ledger I’ve foundI’ve tried a few ledger apps. I need it being self employed and this is the most comprehensive I’ve found. It has bills with a calendar view you can alter so many details such as auto pay or if the transaction has cleared and tons more I can’t think of right now. It has a budget tab and it can tell you how much to put away per week to meet your quota. It has a bit of learning curve but after an hour I understood basically everything. I’d recommend to anyone and actually I do recommend it all the time.Version: 5.2.1

✓ A couple suggestionsI sent an email to them through their website but haven’t heard back. Hiding reconciled transactions works, except if you choose to reconcile the account, all the cleared transactions are displayed. In an older version they weren’t, and they would disappear as you cleared them. That’s not necessary, but previously cleared transactions shouldn’t appear. My other suggestion is for the Bill Pay section. When clicking “Add a payment” instead of “Quick Pay”, the starting value should be zero ($0). Otherwise, you have to erase it before entering a value..Version: 5.0

It’s also a great trackers for paying bills on specific days you’d schedule for reminders. My only feedback is that with this recent update I am not a fan of the auto-population of the long list of category types being expanded on every added entry or scrolling through the list of options because the font is larger now. Other than that this is an extremely powerful resource to keep track of your spending, savings, and bills! I now use the iPad version and love it as this is my detailed money tracking app. It keeps me on top of bills due, up coming bills and my balances for all of my accounts. I would recommend it to everyone. No need to waste time testing other apps. I've done it and like this one. One thing really surprised me is when I had a problem with the app in the earlier years, I got a quick response from the owner who helped me. The issue was resolved in the next update. We have used other localized apps--I don't like the idea of a web-based service for finances. This app has helped me to see 'where the money goes' and to understand our spending habits. The reports are very well laid out. I like that you can see every piece of information you put into the app in a report form--really gives you a grasp on the details. You do have to manually add your vendors--which is best. I like to add a 'cash' & 'check' payee; this allows a little more fluidity in how you operate your cash budget. Transferring between accounts is also very helpful-though there is not a report for that. All in all, we love it and will continue to use in our budgeting..Version: 3.6.3

This app is the only one I found that can do everything, except the personalized reports (hence 4 stars). I love that I can easily keep track of my finances and also reconcile my entered information with my bank. Customer service is very helpful, too. I was having a hard time transferring data from the free version to the paid version, so I emailed the creators. They responded with detailed instructions helping me transfer the data. The customizations are very flexible as well. The backup feature ROCKS. The one thing keeping it from 5 stars is the need to have a budget report that is in the future so one could see everything budgeted for the next month before any transactions are recorded. Should work ok if the current date is the 1st and nothing is recorded yet, but being able to see the next month regardless of the current date would be super helpful. As someone whose income comes mainly from tips, I had trouble with most of the mainstream apps that connect solely to your bank account. They often do not let you input manually any cash income so, what’s the point of using them if they aren’t an all encompassing, accurate view of your finances? This app lets you do it all yourself on a simplified interface for just a few bucks. The visual charts are awesome and make it easy for someone who is visually inclined to stay on top of things. ✓ Better than expectedI've used Quicken's desktop program for years and now Money Monito for years instead. Quicken was too hard, and reconciliation never came out right. Money Monitor is not a Quicken substitute, I use it for budgeting purposes. It is easy to set up a budget and see where the money goes and how much is left for the month. I can pull reports per month with dollars and percentages by category or by location. I didn’t realize how much I spent on online shopping, especially the online giant that promises 2 day shipping. The latest update kinda of muddied things up by adding features, which will be useful I guess, but all the last entries have an Unknown category now. So, unless I go back and change each entry manually, they won’t be updated. I wish there was a search option when choosing an account. Currently one must scroll through the list to the account desired. Not a problem unless the list is as long as mine is! Would be helpful to be able to start typing the name and have it show up. ✓ Love itGreat finance app. I like how you can quickly look at different reports such as categories, accounts, weekly, monthly, etc. I like writing in the note box what I purchased at the store and I love that the note is visible on the transactions so I don't have to click each one and go to the details just to see the note. My favorite thing about the app is at the end of the month I export the category reports to an excel file and I love that each category is separated with all the details and total for each. I've used other apps where they just list all the expenses in one list and the categories are all mixed. This app organizes the report very nicely. One thing that would make this app perfect is being able to do category budgets. Right now you can create budgets, but they aren't linked to your categories so you have to add each transaction individually to the created budget which makes it really inconvenient. I really just want a place to track a few of my budget categories (groceries, gas, and mad money), my vacation fund, and extra money I get like tax returns and stimulus checks. I don’t want to link my bank account and sort every transaction I make, or to do a zero-based budget. This app does everything I need it to, and I really appreciate the utilitarian design. ✓ Great app for an amazing price! Must try!I have been always a person to manage my money since I was young. Trying different app after app and finally coming across this one. I tried the free trial and couldn't resist buying the pro features. For the price it can't be beat to buy but the quality of the app is outstanding to the various ways to track money. One area I would like to see changed is that when saving a payee, it would automatically save and go back to the menu unlike it does now. It does this on most screens when adding an entry. ✓ Updated app wouldn’t workI loved this app before the update. After the update the app wouldn’t work, just continually said reopen app until app works. I tried this many times. I restarted my phone and tried it a bunch more times. Finally I had to reinstall the app, and all my data is gone. Not pleased. Though I suppose it was stupid of me to not make sure it was backed up to the cloud (I thought it was). Edit: I really like the new features. This may be seen as an inconvenience to many people. But to me this is perhaps one of the best features. This forces you get involved with your finances. You have to sit down and virtually balance your accounts, budgets and books. Something that a lot of people need to learn to do. It can be annoying, gut turning, shameful and scary but it will force you to take your money seriously. How it works is you set up an account (not one you log into or anything) to put a starting budget balance in, then you make categories, and then can set up separate budgets for bills and necessities and stuff. ✓ It was the best until recent upgradeI had been using this app more than 3 years now. I was very happy with all the features so far and was excited to see the recent upgrade with more features. The first thing that disappointed me in this upgrade was that they removed feature to attach bill receipts (images) with payment. Then I noticed few things like even if I had set a bill to repeat monthly and delete a bill for a specific month, it stopped showing me for future bills too. I was so depend on this app and because of not showing my bills in next month, I missed payment. I would give 5 stars for the previous version but 4 stars for this version. Some of the newer features are a little awkward (the payer is the most prominent text on every transaction, so if you’re like me and prefer to organize your spending by category without adding a payer for every individual place you spend your money, get used to reading the word “unknown” as the title of everything you do...) but everything works, and can be made to work for you.
