✓ Perfect for iPadThe magazine, on the iPad. It's that simple. Worthless without a subscription, so if you don't think you will buy one, stick to the website instead. Swipe page by page, or jump back to the table of contents. Links are great, even to external sites. There is an unformatted mode, which should probably be used on phone screens..Version: 7.10.3
✓ Excellent science newsmagazine!I've been a reader of the magazine since the 1980's (when it was called Science 84, Science 85, etc.) and there is none better for the lay reader that contains solid science reporting in an attractive and entertaining format. The app exactly replicates the magazine layout, a design choice that has its pluses and minuses, but it looks good at the expense, somewhat, of ease of navigation and intuitive interface. I'd give it five stars for content and three stars for interface. Still, I like the app version enough that I haven't gone back to the paper format..Version: 3.1.2
✓ Great appI haven't had any of the quitting problems others have seen. The Discover app works great for me. Awesome photography and editorial. Maybe those with problems should delete the app and reinstall it. I've had those type of problem with other apps like Sport Illustrated and GQ. ✓ Worth it!Note: it takes a day or two for the subscription to go through so that you can download the issues, so don't panic if you can't read the issue right away. I really like this app. I love Discover and I've had a subscription for years, so when I saw this app, I had to have it. Yes, it does cost money, but most subscriptions do. The initial free status of the app is just to let you get a taste. Makes sense to me, it's how the Newsstand works. If you have an iPad and love discover, I obviously recommend this app..Version: 7.3

✓ The application itself is a problem.The magazine is a great read, but why must this app be so difficult to use? Sometimes it doesn't load. Other times it won't let me turn the page. iBooks got it! Emulate their design. If it wasn't for the dis-functionality of the app, I would give it a well-earned 5 stars..Version: 2.1.2
✓ Good but needs improvementI've read my first issue (Jan/Feb 15) and enjoyed it very much. The only problem is "clipping" articles. If the articles are sent through the app, the resulting email can't be read. So, clipping an article requires a screen shot, etc. It would be nice to clip and send a readable article directly from the app..Version: 3.1

✓ Latest update broke the app.After the latest update the app always crashed when opening (both on iPhone and iPad). Uninstalled and reinstalled which solved the crashing issue, but now I can't restore my purchases. I have no access to my subscription..Version: 3.3

✓ In LimboI think this magazine is an excellent source of scientific news presented in layman's terms. I read it cover to cover, mostly when I'm traveling. I was going to send my 2-year print subscription renewal in the mail today but it occurred to me that I should check into getting the online version instead...would be convenient to read it on my iPad. I'm also a bit disappointed that print subscribers aren't given complimentary access to the online version as well. So now I'm going to hold off on renewing my print subscription...will consider ordering the online version though. The annual price for the online version is the same as two years for the print version so at least there's somewhat of a price break..Version: 7.10

✓ Science and Technology, for all ages.I have read Discover, since I was an elementary school student, through the adult I am today. It is at once better that some other, more populist magazines, which while fun, don't present or give access to the hard sciences, and other more academic magazines, which while giving the access, can fail in accessibility. From saving money as a kid for the next issue to now, I, and now my daughters, can't wait for each issue, and use it for our own literature surveys when we get that first taste from Discover. ✓ Problem ResolvedI've been in discussion with Discover Magazine and brought the error with the November issue to their attention with help of another media outlet. This has been resolved and every active subscriber can now download the November issue without being required to pay an additional fee..Version: 7.7
✓ October 2012 issueI've noticed that the October 2012 issue has already been released. But it is not currently available to the iPad subscribers. I'm not sure how long it will take for them to update the magazine for us iPad users but it's a bit frustrating to say the least. Other than that I really enjoy this magazine and I enjoy reading it on the iPad, so I really have nothing to complain about. Overall it's a great application and an excellent magazine..Version: 7.3

✓ One of my all time favorite childhood memoriesMy parents brought me a telescope and a copy of Discover magazine. That day my life changed. It went from being self centered to universe centered one lazy summer day. Discover Mag is by far hands down my favorite.
