✓ Great Learning AppI downloaded the limited version of Kids Academy for my 2 1/2 and 4 year old boys to test it out. The 2 year old just clicks around right now, but my 4 year old loves it! ✓ Fantastic App for Kids With Autism!!!Are use this app with and several moderate to severe autistic middle schoolers and they love it! I love that there are so many mini games within the app and they are all very high-quality. The games engage a wide range of my students and the overall app is designed in such a way that all of the different games feel distinct from each other, but carry over enough design elements across the different games to build a sense of familiarity and confidence when a student tries a new game for the first time. The games cover skills that are actually very key to cognitive development, like sequencing, sorting based on different attributes, and matching. I have honestly worked with several 13-15 year old special needs students who have NEVER been successful with using an iPad and learning with an iPad who were then completely successful with this app!!!.Version: 3.3.0
✓ Great app!!This app is great, I highly recommend getting it. My 3 year old loves it so much and is learning so much from it. However It needs some fixes when it comes to the rotation on an iPad. It seems to glitch out at several times during the activities and the only way to fix the problem is to completely exit out of the app and restart it. Hopefully this can get fixed. ✓ It's worth the moneyMy son was about 2.5 years old when I downloaded this game for him. I did the free trial first, then I wanted to cancel because I was going to go for the much advertised competitor, but my son is NOT interested in that. I saw how he was completing the worksheets and watched the educational videos at first, and then he discovered the activities/games :) He enjoys them, they entertain him and TEACH him words, colors, sorting skills; he can do puzzles, decide what's bigger and smaller, complete sequences and so much more! She understands the content but the items on the worksheet are too small and too close together for her current fine motor skills. I will say, if you do the trial make sure you know how to cancel subscriptions through iTunes (I suggest looking it up with a google search). There are different add ons you can purchase in app, that are very reasonably priced. My girls loved the great graphics. ✓ A worthwhile investmentBefore my daughter was even born I had collected a bunch of kids apps that I planned to use with her, now she’s two and I found that it’s hard to hold her attention with some of what’s offered. The fist time I used the app with her was incredible she was counting aloud and shouting out the different letters and she really enjoyed using it. As a parent I think it’s important to invest in early education. There are some simple games for children to play as they reinforce their understanding. ✓ Very interactiveMy 5 year old just tried the app yesterday.. he was hooked. We started with the chess introduction video and it was an amazing animation that encouraged him to try the next couple videos. He then asked me to try the math and the language arts section and enjoyed the worksheets. It's an excellent feature to scan the kids work and give a response.. made him do his work more accurately. All in all, looks like a very quality app and we can wait to try more. My son will be starting K this year but is doing slightly advanced stuff .. I am happy there is an option to select the grade level in different sections.. so he might be a early beginner in chess but a grade 1 in English and math.. so it's better than other apps in that aspect!!! He has excelled in math as well and can count way past 100! When we started he could only count to 20. He is even doing addition and subtraction now as well! ✓ Amazing ActivitiesI have previous used the Pre-K apps before they were streamlined into one package. My kids LOVE them! Sorting, matching, pairing; each activity brings entertainment and learning into the package. Looking at the older activities, I love the idea of having the interaction and having printable options. It is also really nice to have the apps all in the same location, instead of a different app for each activity. My only reservation with the product is the subscription. I purchased most of the pre-k apps as a bundle for £10.99 for 10 apps while I was living in the UK. While content will always be updated on the new system, $170/year is a really steep price when I can search online for free printables that can accomplish the same objectives, just without the technology medium..Version: 4.0.0
