✓ Metal slug - a great conversion, with a few issuesMetal slug was first released on the neo geo in 1996 and was a arcade hit. Now it is on iOS, so it will of course be a little different. First I will point out the bad things. First of all, the sound is a little off. It sounds slower than the original. Second of all, the controls take a bit of getting use to. Now on to the good stuff. The game retains the same gun gameplay and graphics. There is also multiplayer and Game Center rankings. Overall, this game is a pretty nice conversion and is a must have for retro gamers who aren't at home with their neo geo's..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Great game BUT needs updatesThe game is as great as I remember it and I love it. The many continuous lives/credits is perfect. No complaints about that. HOWEVER The game needs to be updated before it stops working on the next OS update ANDDD the controls are overplayed so largely over the screen that they cover the graphics, you can't see enemies very well especially once your fingers are over the controls. ✓ Great Game but please update!!!I downloaded the whole set of Metal Slug and it is amazing. The only negative is that it only supports 32 bit. Once iOS 11 requires 64 bit, these games will be gone unless we receive an update. I really hope one gets released soon..Version: 1.1.1

✓ Really good game, but some drawbacksWhen I bought this game at a discount price, I immediately love it because the gameplay is really good. However, there are some drawbacks for me to give a 5-star rating. First is the frame rate, when there are more enemies and big explosions the frame rate drops immensely while less enemies have no drop. Second is the physical controller support. When I use the gamevice for this game, most of the buttons worked such as the A button for firing and the B button for jumping. But, there is one button that doesn’t work at all which is the X button for grenade. On the gamevice live app, it shows that the X button is mapped for grenade. But, as I keep pressing the X button repeatedly. It does nothing at all. I would gladly like to give this a 5-star ration if these problems are fixed..Version: 1.3

✓ Great portVery faithful port. Despite what other reviews say, it is somewhat optimized for iPhone 5, if you switch to 16:9 stretch in the video menu. Not the best optimization, as it's just stretched, but still, it fills the screen. It's also great that it supports iCade, and the game is a joy to play like that. With virtual buttons, it's a typical touchscreen control affair, works as well as any other game that uses that type of control. The graphics are really cool and does the Coin Op justice as does the game play, but the game comes into its own when played on icade! A top class game that's well worth the price. ✓ Pretty goodThis game was the thing of my childhood, it was legendary, this remake of the classic is identical to the original (minus the 5 foot tall console needed to play it) the controls are mildly buggy, but they work. All in all, good game And ps guys at SNK Playmore, you might want to check out an app called 'Contract Killer Unleashed' as they are using images from your games to promote their own game ... ✓ Arcade Greatness !!!As with the other Metal Slug on the App Store; Classic Arcade shmup greatness the Neo Geo way and all in the palm of your hand. However needs update for iPhone 5 screen (NOT just a stretched screen). Maybe a 'Classic/Original' normal untouched screen-format mode setting within options and a new 'Big Action' iPhone 5 widescreen default mode when the game senses its running on iPhone 5 hardware. Naturally a HD version for iPhone 5 would be something that many may desire, however it's understandable that being 2D the painstaking human artwork has already been done long ago and that it would be too much of an epic undertaking to redo. But at least an iPhone 5 screen update would be just some tweaking of software and therefore software generated after (No screen stretching please as it's not the same)..Version: Ver.1.00
✓ Absolute classicI remember drooling over the Neo Geo chiefly because of this game, back when a Neo Geo would have cost you £500 and metal slug another £350 now it's £1.49 how times have changed. One small criticism the B and C buttons are too small and can be missed at the most inopportune moments, really need to be the same size as the A button also the Dpad can sometimes be a little awkward, moving forward whilst ducking can prove frustrating, needs to be higher by default to stop your finger slipping off the bottom of the screen Can't wait for metal slug 2 whilst were on the subject of Neo Geo games what about releasing Samurai showdown and Ghost Pilots too.Version: Ver.1.00
✓ Mixed MFI mapping.First, the good: the game truly is a perfect port of one of the greatest standup arcade games ever made. The downsides are the touch controls are less than elegant and the MFI controls, which would be perfect, don’t map correctly on many devices. Only the jump and shoot buttons work on my two Steel Series controllers. No grenade button. That said, the mapping on my 8BitDo SNES game pad is perfect! Perfect. And so is the playing experience. 5 stars for joy—minus one for imperfect device mapping..Version: 1.3
