PRIVACY AND ANONYMITY
Threema is designed from the ground up to generate as little data on servers as possible. Group memberships and contact lists are managed on your device only, and never stored on our servers. Messages are immediately deleted after they have been delivered. Local files are stored encrypted on your mobile phone or tablet. All this effectively prevents the collection and misuse of your personal information, including metadata. Threema is fully compliant with the European privacy legislation (GDPR).
ROCK-SOLID ENCRYPTION
Threema end-to-end encrypts all your communication, including messages, voice and video calls, group chats, files, and even status messages. Only the intended recipient, and nobody else, can read your messages. Threema uses the trusted open source NaCl cryptography library for encryption. The encryption keys are generated and safely stored on the users’ devices to prevent backdoor access or copies.

✓ Good app but lacks high encryptionOverall this app is really good and I love that you can only be identified by a number or username. No links to your number or contacts. Good verification system for contacts. Clear privacy policy on their website and the server being based in Switzerland means NSA and British Intelligence cannot spy on you or ask the swiz server company to handover information. There are a few things that will improve this app. Better encryption that is doubled in bit as its not as secure as Wickr. Confirmation if your IP location can or cannot be found using this app. Added Security to include a key to unscramble messages as optional two-layer security encryption (which is re-set every month)..Version: 2.4.3

✗ You really need to add sync between devicesThis is almost a deal breaker, and certainly keeps from being able to use it for anything but messages that need to be secure.
