SonoPad for Sonos for Positive User Reviews

Awesome replacement for the stock Sonos appAs of May 2024 Sonos has broken their app — read the many unhappy reviews. Most of the time it cannot even find the Music Library. SonoPad works great and has a better user interface. You don’t have to give up your privacy to this app. No complaints — all kudos!.Version: 1.13.26

Sonos remote on steroidsIMHO the original Sonos remote iPad software is all over the map and not intuitive to use. Fortunately I can't say the same about SonoPad. SonoPad is so much easier to understand and use. Zone management is a pleasure. There's so much less tapping needed to play a tune..Version: 1.7.0

FantasticHad an old IPad 2 on the fridge that I didn't use and replaced with a whiteboard and decided to make it the dedicated Sonos controller in the lounge. That was until I was reminded that Sonos don't actually like or respect the early adopters who put them where they are today. Was on the verge of tossing the IPad and cursing Sonos when I discovered this. £3.99 later and it only goes and links into the system with ease and proves to be more functional than the Sonos S1 update on my IPhone. Bloody Marvelous!!.Version: 1.11.4

SonoPadGreat App, gets around Sonos stopping the support on I Pads 2 and other older devices. As we all don't have the money to always by the latest Apple product. Very easy to use and well recommend.Version: 1.10.2

Fantastic AppEasy to use and navigate, visually good looking and works every time! Great alternative to the Sonos App. Excellent customer support too..Version: 1.11.2

An essential app for iPad 1 users...After Sonos decided to drop support for the iPad 1 with their latest update, without thinking it was worth mentioning in the update notes!!! Rendering my 3 iPad 1 controllers useless, I was pointed to this app. I installed it last night and have to say, not only is it an essential purchase for iPad 1 users, but also for users who hate the new official Sonos app, which is a complete mess imho. I have given it 4 stars out of 5, when a timer and sleep function is added it will get a 5. ;) Nice App mate, well done..Version: 1.7.4

I'm very happyI have just dipped my toe into the world of Sonos and purchased a playbar, ok I have an IPad 4 and an iPhone but my iPad 1 was almost redundant this wonderful app has given it a new lease of life, as for the app it's early days but it works perfectly, the layout is great what more is there to say.. If you have an original iPad just buy this..Version: 1.8.0

Great Replacement for Horrible New Sonos AppWorth every penny. This third party app is even better than the original Sonos controller--- much faster, for one! I haven't been listening to music for the last month or so because the new Sonos app is so non-functional and counter intuitive. I was furious whenever I used it (just like everyone else) so I just stopped listening until I came across this app. It's weird to watch a company like Sonos crash and burn with no clue what its customers want......maybe this app developer will take over the company when the current owners have run it into the ground..Version: 1.7.3

Works for us unlike latest Sonos ‘upgrade’The new Sonos app was a disaster for us - we mostly listen from NAS. Sonopad fixed all the big issues, browsing, searching, queue editing and it’s easy to use. The big cover art pics are a bonus and love the integrated linking through to Wikipedia/lyrics. Simple, effective, responsive - may never go back to the Sonos app..Version: 1.13.23

Fixed! -- SonoPad for Sonos solved my problemI've used Sonos speakers for approx 6 years with my music library on my iPad. I used the Sonos app on my iPad 2 (iOS 9.3.5) as the controller until Sonos dropped support. For a year I was stuck then I found the SonoPad app. It works and solved my problem. I can again use my iPad 2 to control my Sonos sound system. I did have to copy my music library to a USB drive and connect it to my router. I used the Sonos S1 Controller program on my desktop computer to add my music library connected to the router. Now I play my music from the USB drive using the SonoPad (iPad 2) app. Thanks!.Version: 1.13.17

Better In Some WaysMuch better UI than Sonos controller, particularly the positioning of touch controls. Also doesn't waste screen real estate like Sonos does with the huge white space on the left. Nice to have volume control on the "album art" screen. However, it struggles a bit with interface to the Sonos data, as there are noticeable delays. And the Sonos search function functionality is far superior. I use both controllers, Sonos for setting up a playlist and Sonopad for playing..Version: 1.7.4

Best third-party option for Sonos speakersLike many others I find the Sonos May 2024 so-called app 'update' is a disaster. This app is much nicer and faster than any app ever offered by Sonos. Sonos hardware is amazing and brilliant, but for some reason their software has always been a bit rubbish. With the v80 'update' it is complete rubbish, removing many features that people use, despite the advance notices saying it wouldn't. Sonopad has a few things it doesn't (can't?) do (see description) so you'll still need the official app to link speakers (but this app can manipulate groups), to tell the system where your music is on the local network and to do Trueplay, and it doesn't do alarms. However, for the majority of people who had a working system before the v80 'update' this app brings back the joy of seeing all your local music and gives you full access to your playlists, which apparently are stored in the speakers so are recoverable. For me, the v16 app had flaky access to playlists and v80 'lost' them altogether. Best £3.99 I've ever spent in the App store!.Version: 1.13.24

Works with old iPads (and new)Slick interface and works well with any iPad, not just the new ones. It also is updated regularly to keep up with Sonos!.Version: 1.13.3

Better than than Sonos’ own appThe good • Works on iPads and iPhones running old versions of iOS, so you can repurpose old smart devices you still have • Better zone linking, using drag and drop • Direct link to Wikipedia for whatever’s playing Needs improvement • I’d like my favourite radio stations to be closer to the top of the nested menu structure • Touching the zones bar (at the top) should take you directly into the drag and drop zone linking *combined* with zone volume setting.Version: 1.9.5

Very goodWhat a relief! Got my Sonos kit yesterday and have been getting lost in the sluggish and confusing official app. Keep up the good work! Could we have a search text box at the top of every list view to progressively filter down that view as you type? That would be a useful and intuitive addition..Version: 1.7.4

This is your answer !Sonospad is the answer to all the questions you may have.... Older generations Sonos equipment? Yes works great. Use premium streaming services? Yes works great! Need an app to run your Sonos system permanently on an iPad on the wall? Yes this is your solution!! It works so well it can and will replace your Sonos app !.Version: 1.13.12

Saved My SystemSonos obsoleted all the hardware I use. They just stopped supporting it without warning. I would have to have replaced four devices. Also, every time the force their dysfunctional updates it crashes my system, and I have to reconfigure it from scratch. With this app, all my hardware works again, and I am free of the clutches of Sonos! It is also a much cleaner and faster app than the Sonos controller, and works great!.Version: 1.11.1

Love this app, so much better than Sonos S1I was a very early Sonos fan, and I continue to use their hardware. The original Sonos app started off well, but over versions (and let's not even get into S1/S2 mess), the app UI became cluttered and non intuitive . Since I do not use everyday, I found I was struggling to navigate in the Sonos app. The SonoPad app is laid out extremely well, and I use it only now for music. Plus it runs on older iOS so I use an iPad mini 1st gen as a controller. This is a fantastic app that is so much better from a user perspective than Sonos S1..Version: 1.13.9

Great app. Better than Sonos standard appClean, fast, easy to use. Love the way this app reduces the number of clicks needed to do common tasks. Sonos just updated their app to provide faster access to favorites and their app is still much worse than this one, when he gets single touch favorite buttons on the home page it will be perfect :). Really like the look of it too..Version: 1.2.0

Works great on my crappy old iPadWell, wouldn't you know it? I have this perfectly good original iPad and the Sonos app doesn't work on anything older than iOS 10. A good friend of mine recommended this app for me and I tried it. Absolutely perfect! In fact, there are features and capabilities in this app that I wish Sonos had in their's. Definitely worth the cash for the purchase – try it out for yourself!.Version: 1.10.2

New life for old iPadLike many, was annoyed that the latest Sonos controller would not run on the original iPad and the older version would not connect at all. Loaded Sonopad, took a long time to load all 15 zones, contacted Stefan, got a prompt reply, manually entered the IP address of one zone as he suggested, bingo, loads in a second! We only use online sources, so can't vouch for other features, but works great for us. Well worth the price and glad developers like Stefan can save us when Sonos makes a mistake..Version: 1.7.4

Great for people that don't have the latest IPadGreat for people that don't have the latest IPad!! Find it more friendly almost then the real Sonos app. Thank you to the developer!.Version: 1.8.4

FantasticThank heavens I found SONOPAD it has saved my system. After the disasterous SONOS app update that broke my system, I can’t believe how brilliant this SONOPAD app is. I downloaded it, opened SONOPAD and it found my speakers, my library….everything straight away no fuss. This is how software should be, it works wonderfully. Thank you.Version: 1.13.26

Great for meI have a single s3 and wanted to use my 1st gen ipad as a controller still. This does the job perfectly (after sonos support was withdrawn) and the support is quick and efficient ( i had some issues that turned out to be due to a router bug rather than the app!). Highly recommended..Version: 1.7.4

Only works via airplayI wrote an unfair review taking out my frustration with Sonos on this app. The info clearly states it only works with AirPlay. Speedy response from developer who offered refund when none is due as I bought it without reading about how it works Great response from developer who (unlike Sonos) cares about users.Version: 1.10.3

Great appGreat app, thanks for the update..Version: 1.7.4

Great appFar more logical than the official app, easy to use and very easy on the eye. Really like how zones has been implemented..Version: 1.9.4

Simply excellentHaving been annoyed and frustrated by Sonos bricking controllers with a software release and the frustrating way software changes are implemented, I was going to replace my equipment with a competitors product, but then I discovered SonoPad and SonoPhone. In short they are a breath of fresh air and work far more intuitively than the Sonos company software. Better still, the Sonos products do not all have to be on the same firmware which suits me perfectly. Well worth the asking price..Version: 1.13.22

Works on old iPads with S2My old iPad works with Sonos 2. The web access is great for music nerds. Good support..Version: 1.12.1

The king is dead, long live the kingI was wondering what the heck Sonos were playing at and were they testing our allegiance by rapidly producing new software that was worse with each new revision. Salvation. Germany produce amongst the best cars, now they rule the Sonos GUI market. Back to basics but with useable features that we need and can use without hunting high and low. A few tweaks required but Stefan has it in his locker to deliver..Version: 1.7.3

Works great!I lost the ability to use my Sonos no thanks to Bell’s upgrade to fibre which requires a certain router that does not, for some reason, allow the Sonos controller to be installed. Fortunately, I discovered SonoPad. I gave it a try and it works perfectly. Thank you for creating this app!.Version: 1.13.22

Wow!Like others, I was extremely annoyed that I could no longer use my older iPad to run my Sonos system. I did some research and heard about this app. WOW... is what I said when I first opened it. This app loaded with no issues and has my 13 zones running perfectly. But the design and ease of use is what really makes me say WOW. Definitely a step above the standard Sonos app. Job well done and thank you!.Version: 1.7.4

SonosExcellent app. I had a few problems at first but after it started working I've not had any problems with my sonos system; even the sonos app works without any problems!.Version: 1.7.4

Finally love my Sonos againThis app is well worth the investment. I have an old iPad glued to the wall to use with Sonos. This became completely unusable with the Sonos app. Now my system works reliable and quick again and doesn’t Drop all the time. I finally can use my system again. If I hadn’t spent so much money on Sonos speakers I would hav ether own them out but now they work perfectly again..Version: 1.13.7

Great appI'd been using squeezepad which is this developers first app for squeezebox since its very early days and watched it grow into a fantastic app from its early days. When I moved over to Sonos (due to the same reason as the app writer) I was pleased to see this app available which is perfect to compliment the sonos main app. I find the web interface nice to use, and a number of friends enjoyed squeezepad and I'm sure they will enjoy this as much. I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops over time as other features are added..Version: v1.3.1

Restored my sanity after battling with new SonosI can actually now use my Sonos, the new app was driving me mad, slow, disorganised, intermittent and mostly did not work. I can now just select the music/radio and it just works !.Version: 1.13.24

Nice alternativeSo many excellent tweaks compared to the sonos app. Fewer clicks and better use of screen real estate. Love the integrated browser for info and lyrics. App Not 100% functional, though. Not every music source available. No alarm control..Version: v1.6.0

Finally!Until I found this app I had stopped buying any more Sonos speakers. There are too many simple functions missing from the Sonos app, like the ability to sort by song title or band. There have been requests on the web for years asking for that simple function, but Sonos doesn't listen. The maker of this app did listen, and he nailed it. There is also a function that lets you see the Wikipedia page for the artist - Brilliant! This app is making music fun again..Version: 1.8.7

Fantastic SolutionI can only concur what others have said. Running two Apps to control my Sonos system was a nightmare. Plus being told my Five play 5’ Gen 1’s were ostensibly junk by Sonos and now they work as they should. Thank you..Version: 1.13.2

Focus is on the musicThe official sonos app for iPhone is okay but the one for the ipad feels like it gets in the way of the main thing I ant to do, which is find and listen to music. This app solves that and includes very cool stuff like links to meta data which are very nice..Version: 1.7.3

Just brilliantThank you so very much for creating such a fantastic app for us poor souls who look after our gear and don’t go out buying new stuff all the time. First Sonos removed some functionality from the official controlling app and then stopped any ability to play music from any iPad or iPhone with less iOS below 10. They don’t care about the users who helped them in the past. They continue adding so called improvements which move away from their core purpose. But this app is very refreshing as it is so I intuitative and works beautifully. A great improvement and worth every penny. Works and is visually good. Thank you.Version: 1.10.4

Brilliant, Beautifully Executed App.The absolute solution for properly controlling Sonos. I was able to revitalize my older Gen 1 & 2 Sonos incompatible iPads using this fantastic app from Stefan Hansel Solutions. After a brief session I converted all my iPads to this easier to use and far more informative app. Well done and highly recommended, its a bargain!.Version: 1.8.5

This rocks! So Sonos produced this clusterphuqed v.80 iOS app for iPad which bricked my Sonos kit because I stream from a music library held on a NAS drive. Stefan was super helpful pointing me towards how to get the Sonos app on the Mac to see the drive (upgrade to latest version) and check the version of SMB. Which worked. I’ve been impressed by the SonoPad app which has brought my Sonos kit back to life. If as and when Sonos promote (or fire) the architect of the v.8o debacle and produce a working v.81 then I just may stick with SonoPad. It’s feature rich and easy to use. A little money, well spent..Version: 1.13.26

Works exactly like its supposed toI was looking for a way to use my original iPad with my new Sonos speaker. This app was easy to set up and works as described. When I did have a couple questions Stefen was very responsive and helpful..Version: 1.7.4

Rescued my Sonos systemAfter Sonos butchered the control of my system with their dreadful new 5.0 app I had practically stopped using it until I came across Sonopad. It is exactly what a controller should be, easy to use, quick to find the system on startup, displays full album names, controls easily accessible etc. everything that Sonos removed from their previous app. The developer is on to a winner at the moment with so many unhappy Sonos owners looking for a sensible way to control their systems. I look forward to the app progressing as the developer seems to know what a controller app should be. Saved my system from ebay..Version: 1.7.3

ExcellentThis app is tailor made for folk who want to escape from the forced-upgrade system at Sonos. It just works with all your components, new and old. I froze our firmware so our existing hardware would not get intentionally-bricked by Sonos and have been happy with both the iPad and the iPhone based versions. Yes, the UI is different from that of Sonos, etc. but for day-to-day use, this App is pretty awesome. High quality album art can really shine on the iPad..Version: 1.13.22

THANK YOU!The last SONOS update stopped my daughter's iPad mini from controlling SONOS. Was causing uproar in our house. Best $6 I've spent this week..Version: 1.10.2

If you have a Sonos system buy this app.I have a 8 Sonos speakers and this is much better than the official Sonos app. A little confusing at first, but the more you use it the easier it gets. The clincher is less finger tapping to play selected music. Works great with Pandora, SiriusXM and Calm Radio but compatible with almost all other music services. Tech-support answered my email within 48 hours. Well worth the $$$..Version: 1.7.0

Excellent AppAfter being left unable to use my Sonos system on iOS 9.3.5 by Sonos I found this app that offers a great solution. Just want to say a big thank you to the developers of this app. Great functionality that is easy to navigate and use. Well worth the money, 5 Stars..Version: 1.10.2

Very seamless and good alternative to Sonos appAlways nice to download an app that works as described ! I prefer the interface to the actual Sonos app. If it let me access my account, add devices, and use my iPad playlist I’d add a sixth star..Version: 1.11.4

BAMIPad 1 has purpose once again. All i wanted was to be able to run it as a dedicated device for downstairs music control. Can't creating playlists but who cares, I can do that on the computer which frankly is the best place for creating play lists. This is a great Job and app..Version: 1.7.4

Great appDoes what's needed and works on older iPads. Songs need to get a reality check and stop trying to force people who have invested heavily in their music systems down the forced upgrade path. They will lose business if they keep it up : I've already ditched Apple..Version: 1.9.4

Good and GreenHow many people are there using older iPads for remote controls? Sonos are not exactly showing their green credentials in making those units redundant. A big thank you to Sonopad, it works perfectly. It is more intuitive than Sonos's latest release, and I really like the zone management and the wiki link..Version: 1.7.4

A brilliant appI was having problems trying to set up two systems with the original Sonos app, one for S1 and one for S2 components. SonoPad sorted it immediately, integrating both systems into one. Why couldn’t Sonos do this - especially as their equipment is quite pricey? A great app!.Version: 1.13.15

Really great appThis app is everything the May 2024 Sonos app update is not - stable, reliable, logical UI, detects all my devices every time. Sonos should be ashamed that one talented guy can upstage a whole team of their engineers. Wishlist: display of bit depth and sample freq would be nice :-).Version: 1.13.24

Excellent controllerI have never reviewed an app before, indeed never even rated one, but I had to comment about Sonopad. It is just so astonishingly better designed than the official Sonos one it beggars belief that Sonos haven't employed the developer, or at least stolen all his ideas! The zone control management, in particular, makes one smile with its clever functionality. Sad as it is to say it, I actually found myself describing it as beautiful. Surely Sonos are aware of this app. For them to stick with their embarrassing effort in the face of Sonopad's existence shows just how contemptuous they have become of their customers..Version: 1.7.4

Clever, useable, sometimes elegantI got this app in the hope of replacing the overly complex Sonos App, and so far am impressed, mostly. There is a shallow learning curve before one can successfully add to or delete from playlists using SonoPad. But it is generally more intuitive than the official app. One thing that is took me some time to do was add tracks without accidentally starting them playing. All a matter of touching and holding, in the right place. Like making love to a beautiful woman, as Swiss Tony might’ve said back in the day. (-: Unlike Swiss, I would love for there to be a stop button that is easily reached, but the developer tells me that this is not currently planned in order to ‘keep the interface simple + pragmatic.’.Version: 1.13.22

PerfectMy 2013 ipad mini is my remote, but the 'real' Sonos app no longer supports older devices. Sonopad isn't just a replacement, it is a significant improvement. Definitely worth a few bucks..Version: 1.10.4

Great appLove this app been using it for years it's very well updated. Now it's the only way to se my old iPad to control my Sonos system as its updated to S2. This app is easy to use and has features not available in the Sonos app that make it well worth having especially now that one of my iPads is useless for Sonos without it. Thanks for years of enjoyment..Version: 1.13.13

Great startThis App is a great start, definitely easier and faster than the Sonos App. The graphics could be better, perhaps more like the MOG app. Keep the upgrades coming..Version: v1.6.0

Dustin sonosSo happy with this. Way quicker and works with my iPad 2.Version: 1.10.2

New life for iOS 5.1 devices!Love, LOVE this app -- as a long time Sonos and iOS device owner, it is awesome to be able to run my system using my original iPad 1 as a dedicated controller. The continuing support (and enhancements!) for older versions of iOS is much appreciated. If you have Sonos and want to re-purpose an ancient iPad as a dedicated controller, this is the way to go..Version: 1.9.2

Awesome app! Best one available!Best app available for Sonos systems! Great customer service. Design is simple and intuitive and also works on older devices! All the 1-star reviews are due to ignorant people not reading the limitations before making their purchase. This app does not have all the same features as the official Sonos app. As for people experiencing crashes, well, I have never had a problem with it crashing..? This app is fantastic!.Version: 1.8.1

Auto dickDoes what it says use it all the time.Version: 1.6.7

ExcellentMy old IPad one had been retired to the sitting in the living room as a Sonos controller. It worked very nicely as a controller, big screen, an easy to use keyboard that anyone could pick up and use. I resisted updates on my Sonos system until a new Play 1 forced me to do it. The IPad one was rendered useless. This app is great. I downloaded it expecting a bit of a 'faff' trying to get it to recognise my system or to be recognised. No problems at all. The interface is nicer than the Sonos app. The artwork seems to load faster and the feature which enables the 'search the web' is a great idea. Good job!.Version: 1.7.4

Finally!I'm a high end AV professional and huge Sonos advocate. I use it every day. This update is the one that finally will replace the factory app for me and my clients. Outstanding work to the developer. This is a massive undertaking and you nailed it!.Version: v1.4.3

Much better than new sonos appThis is the answer to Sonos' terrible new app for the iPad. This one has a great layout and logical navigation. You can see everything you need at once. It's just missing a sleep timer, but that is supposed to be coming. I also wish the up and down arrows in pandora worked more like the sonos app. Otherwise I'm very pleased..Version: 1.7.4

Finally a way to play Sonos on outdated iPadsSo grateful to have come across this app that now let's us use an "old" iPad that Sonos was not compatible with. This will be our Sonos command system now. Thanks to the developer. Wish they would develop an app that would combine Sonos, lighting from Philips hue and nest products. All items the manufacturers won't allow to work together.Version: 1.11.4

Great jobSonos is excellent but this app gives it even better control. Thanks and please keep improving it. You have a customer for life. I will tell my friends as well..Version: v1.6.0

BrilliantAfter despairing that Sonos had stopped supporting my perfectly good IPAD 1st generation with their Sonos app, I eventually found this wonderful app. I had almost given up hope of hearing my Sonos equipment again without spending a king's ransom on a new IPAD, or a controller. Thanks a million. Highly recommended. Why Sonos could not apply its corporate mind to do the same beats me..Version: 1.7.4

Does the jobSolved my problem of running Sonos from an old IPad and IOS 9. Worked instantly..Version: 1.10.2

Totally Worth It1. works seamlessly and easily. 2. worth it alone for in-app access to lyrics via www 3. ... or in-app access to Wikipedia info on artists 4 ... or finely granular volume control which massively beats native Sonos volume control. On top of all this, the programmer takes suggestions and is adding new features - great app, great attitude. I use it in tandem with Sonos app and am 100% glad I bought it. had Sonos since 2006 and wish I'd had this app all along..Version: 1.6.7

Thank you Sonos for stopping iPad1 supportSearched for an alternative so that iPad1 could continue to be used as Sonos controller and found Sonopad. Not only does it work on iPad1 -- it is better than the Sonos controller. Way better. Would pay double. Don't hesitate to download. Thank you Sonopad!!!.Version: 1.7.4

Even if you don’t need this spp it’ll make you happyI tried this out because I was curious and and after a week I only have good things to say about it. It’s got a very intuitive interface. and I love that I can fid out more about a track or an artist without leaving the app. Also, when I had a question they got back t me right away, Good job..Version: 1.8.4

Loving this app!Far better than the official Sonos app. Great interface. I especially appreciate the ability to easily look up artist info. A great feature for those of us who use Sonos and streaming services to explore new music. Keep up the great work! Worth every penny, and far more..Version: 1.8.4

EssentialWith the release of Sonos May 2024 app update, this excellent independent app is not just great, it is ESSENTIAL..Version: 1.13.23

GreatHaving used Stefan’s Squeezebox app for many years, I was very pleased on transferring to Sonos to discover this app. It is a much smoother experience than the official Sonos app. Works flawlessly too. If possible, I’d love it if I could see my Qobuz/Spotify libraries sorted in alphabetical artist/album order rather than when I added them to my favourites. An option to see them in a grid with the album art (like the standalone Qobuz app) would be nice too. However, these options aren’t available in the official app either, so maybe it isn’t possible to implement. One for the wish list rather than a criticism. Great job all round Stefan!.Version: 1.13.9

Easier to UseI really like the app. It is more intuitive and I find it much easier to use than the Sonos. Great job and keep up the good work..Version: v1.4.0

Excellent appThis app works exactly as promised. Good design and performance. A much better alternative to the recent Sonos app and their removal of features. And a really prompt and helpful support function as well. A good buy!.Version: 1.13.26

Works!Yay can use my old iPad with my sonos again!.Version: 1.11.0

Great App; GREATER customer support!!!NOTE: I wrote this the day before he updated the app. Since it doesn't show up under "current version" reviews, I have reposted. I am very pleased with this app. I find the interface more visually pleasing than the Sonos app. The quick access to Artist info is very nice. The GUI for Zone Managment is very nice, as is volume control. However, by far the greaest part of my experience has been with support. I had an issue that caused the app to freeze frequently. I wrote the developer, who responded in about 12 hours. I sent him the requested logs, he found the problem, and had an update issued--all of which happened in less than 48 hours from my first email. This is superior service!!!.Version: 1.8.6

Worked immediately no issueI have an older sonos amp based system and play 3’s that’s s1 . An old iPad 2 from a drawer that’s iOS 9.3.2 does not work with sonos s1 I turned into a controller in a few minutes with this SonoPad app. Works great. App is intuitive and simple. Even displays more information than the sonos S1. Only thing I can’t seem to find is a search functionality. Five stars overall however. Regarding the search , I just got a response directly from the developer ( thank you Stefan ) …Search is there, it’s part of each menu item, just not global. Great product overall I’m using it on a very old iPad, and latest iOS 15.2 on newer ipad and my iPhone. Definitely recommend..Version: 1.13.15

Better than the OEMFantastic App. More reliable and feature rich than the OEM app. Worth every penny..Version: 1.7.3

Very happyNow I can use my old iPad again. The design is actually good too, I like the interface, better than the Sonos app. Easy to use, added functionality, like searching for info about artist. I didn't even have to set it up, it worked straight away..Version: 1.13.3

Better than Sonos App!This app is so much better than the Sonos app. I just bought it and I already love it. I can play my own music and lyrics are just a click away..Version: 1.13.1

AmazingThe factory app is already satisfying but this one is even better! Easy navigation, finer controls, full screen album cover... And so far no bugs! Kudos! Worth the price!.Version: 1.6.6

Better than the SONOSAnother victim of SONOS ios9 end of support....I was so angry for several days and then bought this app. LIFESAVER !!! Better, faster and worked straight out of the BOX. Come on SONOS don't do stupid things like this again....This app has saved your life and reputation...just hope this app just gets better so we don't have to put up with SONOS arrogance towards your users ...Best 3.99 I have spent for stress !.Version: 1.10.2

IPad1 HeroI was pretty disappointed when Sonos decided that they were going to stop supporting the original iPad and iOS 5. I use my iPad to read email, to surf the web, and to control my sonos. I don't need a new tablet (and I don't want to spend the money for a new tablet). This $4.99 app is the PERFECTsolution to the problem, it gives me control of my Sonos again, and the interface is far better than the latest sonos interface, it is more intuitive, buttons are where they should be. 5 stars for this $5 iPad saver..Version: 1.7.4

Best of the batchFor sonos. App needs improvement but it’s my favorite:) Please keep up the good work. Sonos is a nightmare, wish I never invested but feel stuck now after thousands of dollars… Blessings Jorge.Version: 1.13.22

Best app I've ever downloaded! This app has it all. I have had it now about 30 minutes. Works seamlessly and very intuitive. Set up is automatic. Found my system faster than the real sonos app on my iPhone. I have an older iPad so I needed this app. Well worth the $4. Highly recommended..Version: 1.12.1

Sonos is working againThank You very much. This works much better than the original Sonos. I really thought that my Sonos system was destined for a shelf in the basement.Version: 1.11.4

Perfect solution! As others have said, this is a perfect fix for using Sonos with older iOS devices. I had one small issue in that it took a few minutes on opening to detect all zones but having emailed the developer, and getting a response in 24 hours, a simple fix was identified and this works a treat. Thanks Stefan!.Version: 1.11.0

Very coolI use this on several wall mounted iPads which are also used for home automation. Very impressive app I would give it 6 stars if possible..Version: v1.4.0

Listening to music againMy wife got a new phone and got the sonos app, it automatically updated and my iPad 2 and iPhone 4s is now unable to control our sonos, I read about the SonoPad app, and within ten minutes I'm controlling my music again, I agree the app is better than the original. Danke mein Freund. X.Version: 1.10.4

You get to control your equipment, not the other way round. After endless messing about with the “official” Sonos controller application and spending more time trying to get endless updates I don’t need installed before it would work I was about to give up and ditch the lot. I would quite often try to listen to a quick half hour of music before bed and waste the next hour trying to nurse-maid every single piece of Sonos through firmware updates before any of it would work at all. SonoPad saved the day with its simple interface and simply letting me play music. No updates unless you choose. Absolutely vital if you have low bandwidth internet that fails updates with the official controller. Developer is a fine fellow who even added a feature when asked. 10/10 well worth every penny..Version: 1.13.13

Great app for those fed up with the native Sonos appI’ve always wanted to upgrade the default Sonos app. I stumbled across SonoPad during a search and gave it a try. I love the app. It is so much user friendly than the Sonos app. I did have some issues initially and reached out to support. Stefan was able to narrow it down to an issue with my music library and thoroughly helped me solve the issue. Can’t wait for the warm weather and normal life to return so SonosPad can lead the music during out get togethers. Thank you Stefan..Version: 1.13.11

Awesome.....I just wanted to say i have just downloaded this app and it is totally awesome....it blows away the rubbish new controller from Sonos .... The look of it is great no hideous amounts of white screen.....no inappropriate placing of icons .... The user interface is intuitive and easy to navigate and has everything exactly where you expect.... its quick to respond and limits the number of clicks or scrolls to a bare minimum...exactly how it should be.... Sonos take note this is EXACTLY what you should have done with your new app.. Great job Stefan....my only request would be to be able to play music on my ipad so i dont have to have my computer on constantly..but otherwise the best £2.99 i have spent on the app store....Version: 1.7.0

Much better that Sonos AppHaving spent hours faffing about resetting older devices, reinstating, updating them so they work again, having to use two official apps to operate one household system and forgetting which speaker belonged to which app (Sonos what were you thinking?) SonoPad is a Godsend. What a surprise learn that having downloaded SonoPad all my devices, music services, playlists etc were already installed and ready to use. Still getting to know SonoPad but one particular favourite is ability to call up Wikipedia and other sites to get further information, lyrics etc about track and artist been played. Who now needs Roon? Highly recommended to any Sonos user..Version: 1.13.12

Excellent! After becoming sick and tired of Sonos attitude towards older equipment, particularly making two tablets and a CR100 controller obsolete I was preparing to junk my 5 room system. Then I found this app. It works beautifully and works on older iPads. My Sonos works as I originally paid money for it to do. Excellent app. Terrible Sonos customer care. Buy this app NOW!.Version: 1.10.1

Great App !I am really happy it works with my old iPad 1. I can now use it as a dedicated Sonos Controller and I love it !.Version: 1.8.7

Very COOLI was having problems with my Sonos CR200 not finding any on-line music after another upgrade so while looking for an upgrade or fix I ran across SonoPad and gave it a go. I can now access my on-line Music and even have access to my saved favorite stations and my Sonos controller is still not working. I have a ZP-90 connected to some nice AMPs & Tower Speakers as part of my system and SonoPad makes the listening experience more fun as I no longer need my reading glasses to browse Music. For a fist shot this app is very cool and I'd like to see the ability to make changes to the Sonos Equalization and possibly a few more tweaks, but please don't let it get so complicated it becomes another menu intense app..Version: 1.1.0

FantasticThis is a brilliant app. Just what you need to control your Sonos system with an older iPad. Easier to use than the Sonos app as well! Totally recommended.Version: 1.13.2

So much betterMuch better than the factory app. Well worth the money. It's actually a joy to use. Thank you for writing this!.Version: v1.4.4

Seems to control both Sonos S1 and Sonos S2I’ve had to split my system into new and old and no I don’t care too much. Unlike a lot of people I fully understand that things, especially tech things, move on and yes they could have handled it a LOT better but there we go. Anyway back to the app, so I now have to have 2 official Sonos apps to run my system, OR ONE unofficial SonoPad app - nice work Stefan..Version: 1.11.4
