I'm not sure if I am using an update version from past comments but I started in the middle of the month and was able to enter all my transactions for every day until present day. Also, every time I get paid (random days, no salary, commission payments) I am able to add it to my budget every time and the whole months budgets adjusts. The problem with those overly complicated budgeting apps is you end up spending too much time correcting them auto-categorizing and trying to make things simple, that it's just a drain. ✓ The perfect app for meThis app delivers exactly what I needed from an expense tracker. I have tried basically everything on the App Store but all of them had something awkward. This is my favourite by far. This app lets me set up all my known, recurring expenses, leaving a budget. It also forecasts how much you should spend each day to stay within your budget, taking into account your previous expenditure. It's really neat. You can set up your own categories so there's no fear of running out of categories/icons like in some other apps. One minor irritation: once an expense has been created, you can't move it to a different date. You have to delete and recreate it on the correct day. It also takes a little experimentation with the UX to learn how to view and add expenses to previous days. Only other criticism from me: the pie chart on the app's icon isn't centred!!! They must be aligning via the edges of the shape rather than the centre point. Doh!.Version: 4.0

As a student, I've actually just enjoyed collecting my receipts together from the beginning of the month and watching BUDGT display them in a really simplistic manner. Some small UI elements need to be ironed out. Please could the developer find a different place to put the cancel button when adding an item to the monthly budget as I found myself repeatedly hitting it by accident as the previous screens next button had been there. I would also like to see the ability to change the colours for each category, keeping with the dull colours so not as to spoil the look..Version: 1.1.2

I'm a college student, budgeting is important as I get an extremely small paycheck for working for the school. ✓ Love this app... Only a few minor quibblesI live the idea of a simple app for tracking your expenses. This app fits that description, and does the job well. The UX was frustrating to begin with (for example, when adding a new monthly expense; the top right is a 'next' button on one screen, and then in the next screen it's a 'cancel' button - very easy to just cancel, and I did this out of habit about 4 or 5 times before finally getting that I had to press 'Done' on the keyboard! I would suggest you drop the cancel button from that second screen, it's not needed) and it would also be nice if categories were ordered by either A-Z or by frequency used instead of the order you entered them. Great app though, once you get used to it, you will have a much better idea where your money is going! Recommended!.Version: 1.5.0

But this app is excellent if you want a good look at how your day to day spending affects your budget. I have saved a ton of money using this app, and it has really helped me get my finances under control, in conjunction with Mint. The only thing I wish this app would let me do is look at future dates to see how much money I will have available if, for example, I want to make a large purchase on one day that is going to make me go over my daily budgt. I would like to see how that purchase would affect budgt for the rest of the month. That's why I'm knocking off 1 star..Version: 3.1

✓ Omg favourite app for budget planning!I've been called the budget Nazi by friends because I talk literally everything. Gone are the days where I stuff my wallet full of receipts in hopes of going home to enter it into my excel spreadsheet and hopefully remember what it was I spent $3.99 on!!! Now I enter it right on my phone at the store. No receipt required. I love how they keep adding features to it and app support is great! Now it even exports all your notes so if you need to remember on a certain day what you spent $300 on if you record it, it will now track it. ✓ Great app to see what you’re spending without a hassleI was looking for a simple app which I didn’t have to go to ridiculous levels of detail to measure what I was spending things on (personally) during the month. This took some finding in the app store but I’ve been using it for just over a month and I’m finding it great. Basically you put your monthly revenue and expenses (the big fixed items) and Budgt works with what’s left, calculating what it thinks you’ve got left per day (so if you splash out, this figure drops down automatically for the rest of the days in the month) and also summarises your spending into broad categories which you can customise. What that means for daily use? Well, for me that means: add amount, choose category, then (just for extra non-compulsory details) I add a note with more information. But it could be £10, Work Food, done. Checking the monthly tab, you can see that occasional dining out out experience is actually a huge chunk of your spending when you thought it wasn't. It displays on a pie chart, and a list showing descending categories of spending. The export facility will show the broad summary combined with the daily entries in an easy to read CSV (which iOS will actually view natively - so you don’t need Excel if you just want to view it). You can do a limited amount of “fancy things” like rolling over any budget surplus for the next month’s spending, or weighting some days over others (you might be a bigger spender on the weekends) but I haven’t really needed this. It has passcode protection if you’re feeling the need for privacy. It also has a notification reminder you can set to remind you to put in your expenses/spending - although I’ve been putting them in as I go instead. My main setup apart from the monthly budget, was customising the categories into useful broad categories I’d use and eliminating the rest. The interface is also worthy of a good iOS app - it’s lovely to look at and quick and simple to use. If you’re using it for the first time, and not starting at the start of the month, realise you can “swipe back” to make your past entries on the actual day of expenditure not stacking them all up on the day you started using the app. Great app - it does exactly what I want..Version: 4.1
✓ Awesome app for daily budgetingI love this app. I use it for daily budgeting tho, so like the amount of money I can spend in a month on a daily basis (grocery + restaurant + fun stuff money for the month). I don't include the monthly fees which don't change from month to month and I think that's the best way to use this app. There are other budgeting apps that keep track of that and don't require u to input the charge every month. I only wish I could have multiple 'budgt's so I could use one for vacation, one for work expenses, etc..Version: 4.1

With the ability to create easy, one-time or recurring additions (like monthly additions to a bank account from my parents) or withdrawals (like a credit card bill), BUDGT shows you how much money you have left for the month, how much for the day you can safely spend, and how much you'll have at the end of the month should you continue with your spending habits. After a few months of use, I keep finding more hidden features. The developers are great–responded to an email in less than 24hrs–and show they clearly care about the work they put out. Please update to iOS7 though:) that way you can implement a swipe forward and backward for easier navigation, and clean up that status bar look. But honestly love the icon, love the look. Only suggestion would be to make the done button when typing an expense in an easier spot to push (lower right corner). ✓ Nearly perfectThis app is exactly what I need: a simple way to plan, track, and control how I spend money. It is beautifully designed and a pleasure to use. It doesn't have a lot of frills. It won't keep track of your investments or your savings. Where it really shines is tracking the flux of money through your checking account. Where it falls down for me is in its lack of a good way to browse your history. It is possible to view previous months, but painful to go back more than a few. It also can't display statistics on more than one month at a time. Budgt is an app that lives in the present and does not dwell overmuch on the past. That alone is not enough to keep me from recommending the app. It is focused and functional, and has helped me manage my money..Version: 2.2

A few suggestions: It'd be really nice to be able to add daily cash (for those of us who work in hospitality). Could be improved by: 1) being able to go forward and back days to edit what you've spent if you made a mistake. 2) I would like a drop down box when creating a category that says whether the category is compulsory or optional, for example: Fuel used to drive to and from work is a compulsory expense, however a meal out (Food) is optional.
