✓ My review of BBC sports appI come on here for football. As a long term expat football is one of the few things I hang on to. Sports Report, 606 and five live football daily are a revelation on the internet, a long road from short wave world service of 1975, 15 minutes sports report at 02-15am. However, with short wave wold service with all its crackles, loss of signal and other frustrations, I felt I belonged. With the modern 21st century BBC I do not! With respect to football reporting you are ok. I believe there are certain bias minds. Not the strict neutrality I would had expected from the BBC. A number of pundits use the adjectives of “us” & “we” when referring to the teams they once played for! One or two others express delight or sorrow at a favourite team’s results. Jimmy Armfield would never put forward such sentiments, those following in his footsteps need to learn. Please remember, we as the 21st century world listeners would still like to be welcomed, rather than the “tough luck due to rights restrictions, you no longer count” message we get today..Version: 1.43.0

✓ Feedback on Football AppPersonally, I’d love to see more information about how each team is performing before each match; their present and recent form, important injuries, why they are performing so well or so badly. The tipping is good but a short, informative synopsis on their expected performance against their rivals each week, would be helpful. I love the stats during the game but there is a huge opportunity for a match’s radio commentary to be transcribed into text, so we could read the commentary, especially important for anyone with hearing issues. A big thank you to all the hard working staff behind the scenes, who are doing such an excellent job each week. ✓ Getting out datedWhen the ‘new’ format started several years ago, it was good and informative. The picture format is helpful to identify latest news stories. However, my biggest frustration is that it takes several menu option clicks to get to the lower levels (e.g. to view certain divisions in soccer) or you can’t easily always see results and tables in the same place. There needs to be more focus on actual results, trends, latest scores from multiple sports that are more easily accessible on the side of the format, with key news forming other areas. I also access the site everyday from outside of the UK, and so some of the content (e.g. video) isn’t available. You might want to not show these links if they’re not available. And maybe join forces with other sports agencies to widen your news coverage and scope (think Flipboard or Apple News, etc) but become the global hub for sports news? Just a thought ….Version: 2.1.0
✓ What’s MissingVery little is the answer. However, if there were a couple of things included that are missing, I would have given a perfect 5 stars. I admit that when it comes to sport, I’d watch 5 year-olds take part, and will get out of bed at 2am to watch my team. I’m a committed sports fan. The sport I have the biggest interest in is football, and that’s where a few things are missing in the coverage by BBC Sport News. I doubt if I am alone in my desire to read about Scottish ladies football, and find myself frustrated that if I try clicking on a game or try to see where teams are in the league, I can’t because only English ladies football is catered for. Where are the league tables for Scottish ladies football? I also take an active interest in all of the major leagues across Europe, but try clicking on games that don’t involve the biggest teams and they may as well be a Scottish ladies game, the result is the same, you get nowhere. That includes when games are being played. All of that said the coverage by the BBC is second to none and I wouldn’t go anywhere else to find what I’m looking for….
