✓ So much fasterWas using GooReader, a very good program, to get at my zillions of PC files already. It works but is slow and not very flexible. Installed Remote File Manager and wow, it gets at the files much, much faster, shows you thumbnails of their contents, and lets you sort them in various ways. You can also search for files. ✓ The only Windows Network Video Player that worksI have tried half a dozen video players that claim to stream over the network and this incredibly robust file tool is the only one that actually works. It's a shame the video portion is so featureless. Videos play in portrait unless the rotation lock is off... Fast forward and rewind buttons for long movies that don't scrub well, background play, increased playback speed all would be nice, but the ability to remember playback location is sorely missing. I realize the video playback is a secondary feature, but like I said, this is really all we've got. BUZZ Player constantly errors out when trying to stream and unlike this app, takes forever to start when it actually works. PlayerXtreme desperately needs to use tap and hold to bring up menus instead of popping them up on every tap. Fast folder browsing but inexplicably can't play mp4/m4v. VM Player can't even browse the network as it claims. This app can do what those other players can't and video playback was an afterthought!.Version: 2.0.1
✓ Excellent file management application!This application has allowed me to consolidate files in one location and save tons of space on my iPad Air. Before I got this application I had multiple copies of the same file from opening them in different applications. This application is seen by all of the applications I use for the different file format that I commonly use. Without now once I edit the file in one application I open it and this application and delete it from the original Application that I made the changes in. ✓ Definitely a First Class WinnerReviewing apps is not really my scene however there are times when an app stands out from the crowd. There are so many file transfer apps that allege to do every thing, the actual story is far different. Some do bits, some do a few more bits and parts just do not work. Well this app is one of those few that seems to do just about all of it. Unfortunately I am one of those that needs near perfection in what I pay for and use, otherwise it just gets deleted. As yet I have been unable to trip this app up, it has done everything neatly, easily, and with out complaint. It sees my local Time Capsule, the Cloud storage and other attached drives, all the Macs on my local network and probably the MS PC's as well. The UI is very clean and all the controls are in the right place. One of the main benefits is that it will stream media so there is no need to download files first. A great deal of work and thought has been put into this app, and the developer has tested it to make sure all of it is working. Simply put I could not wish for better. ✓ Well Done App!I have a home network drive that I needed to be able to access via Wi-Fi. This app does the job with flying colors. I can move photos off my iPhone 6 to this drive. I can watch movies stored on the drive. In fact, it streams and plays the files faster and without buffering. Works better than my Plex app. It's so nice to find a file manager app that does what is says it can do without a lot of hassle. This works perfectly with the added bonus of watching media files direct on the tablet first. Ideal when transferring and sorting lots of video clips that just have generic capture titles. Not sure why video does not work. I have edited pages and numbers files converted them to the Microsoft equivalent and have transferred them through quick explorer to my pc drive. It only takes a few seconds all in the confines on my secure wifi network - no drop box or cloud required. I have been able to connect it to an old airport router that was used to backup my mac but has been sitting there unconnected for a couple of years. ✓ Issue with WMV video fileJust saw a new update today that fixes WMV file issues so I promptly downloaded it. Good news is that the sound issue is fixed but the video slider on the player still does not work for those WMV files that originally had sound issues. When I used a different app like Qfile HD, it lets me use the slider control so I know it can be done. Thanks for the sound fix and if the slider issue is fixed, this app will get my five star..
