Harmony® Control for Positive User Reviews

WonderfulI have now been using the system for many years. We were successfully able to set this up in no time. However, the setup did require careful consideration of the components and the programming and how everything would function together. You can also always fine tune the programming or also add additional components at any time. Even my 6 year old is well versed at using the app and we have never experienced any issues whatsoever. Most appealing of all is this system achieved what others charge a lot more for and they still can’t get right. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a solution to integrate all their AV requirements..Version: 5.7

Works greatUpdate: I have purchased a second Harmony set up for my basement. Works great. But I wish the stupid app was better. You need to have the option to show multiple hubs on screen so I don’t have to go to “switch hubs”. Have a split screen with at least 2 hubs. Which ever one you power on, it changes to that individual remote. C’mon guys. Less clicks is more. I am amazed. I have had all versions and costs of Logitech remotes. This is the least expensive one I've ever had and the best. The app is lightning fast, it works far better than my $400 Harmony One. I will be buying a second one for my man cave..Version: 5.3.3

Fantastic appGreat app. A little quirky..Version: 5.7.13

Great App for a great remoteI have been using Logitech for years and the Harmony too. This has got so much better with the google integration in the UK which US had way before us. I mainly use the remote or google with the app just being used for trouble shooting. If you have loads of devices and need an all in one remote get the Harmony - once you do you won’t look back..Version: 5.6

Works well.Have had this app for a couple years now. Works well. I’ve even been able to turn my tv off/on from another country (confirmed with security camera). Occasionally looses wifi connection but is easy to re-connect..Version: 5.7.7

Better than I could have hoped forI have steered clear of the Harmony because of PAST reviews, but I guess they’ve got it right because it works fantastic! I have a Denon receiver with separate on and off controls that has always given universal remotes a difficult time...not this one, it operates it flawlessly...setup was simple...i have an LG OLED SMART TV, Direct TV, Apple 4K TV, Sony Blue Ray player, and the Denon A/V receiver...the switching from Direct TV to Apple TV is perfect every time...I only wish they had different appearance themes to choose from or ability to personalize the color scheme/button styles...other than that, better than I could have hoped for...their remote is better than the LG tv remote...and operating from my iPad or my iPhone is great..Version: 5.4.1

Works well for meThe reviews almost scared me away. I’m glad that I went ahead and tried the Hub. It’s worked well with every product and activity that I’ve tried. My recommendation is that it’s definitely worth trying as long as you get the Harmony from a source that has a straightforward return policy. For the most part I’ve been able to put away my product remotes and only dig them out occasionally. In some cases I will launch an activity through Harmony and then switch over to a dedicated app to continue. Sonos is an example of that. Hue lighting is another example. On the other hand the Harmony control of Roku is much better than the Roku app. I consider app switching to be so easy that it can’t really be thought of as an inconvenience. The Bluetooth control of a laptop is incomplete, which isn’t surprising, so I’m still figuring out different uses with that part of the app. It’s another situation where I use Harmony to launch an activity and then switch to another app, such as JRemote or Splashtop to continue. My typical use is to have an iPad and a wireless keyboard, with trackpad, as my controllers for an extensive entertainment network. For now everything is working even better than I ever would have predicted. I do understand the frustration from people who are having problems. I’m glad that I’m not having those problems in my system..Version: 5.3.1

Please enable Apple WatchThis is a good app, but I feel it would be so much better, if there was Apple Watch functionality incorporated. It wouldn’t have to be anything fancy - just Activities and Volume / Mute maybe? I’d love to be able to start the TV by tapping my watch. Sometimes getting the remote or iPhone seems too much like hard work :-) #couchpotato!.Version: 5.4

Would like a little more Interface flexibilityHi guys, enjoying the app as it's made accessing my TV another entertainment systems fun again (I'm quadriplegic and using Remote controls is not an option), after struggling with a lot of really bad Remote apps that are available out there. But the thing that annoys me most is how it defaults to activities which I do not want to have to use. Instead I just wanted to open on Devices and let me press buttons the old school way. I find activities to be unreliable in any case!.Version: 5.7.7

Back to greatWell done Harmony for listening to the reviews after the last 'upgrade'. The latest version is FAR better and, better yet, works seamlessly. A resounding success..Version: 4.0.1

Not as bad as people sayIn my experience this app has got a bit of an undeserved reputation. It’s a bit clumsy perhaps but I did not find it too difficult to set up all my devices (Apple TV, PS3, Harman/Kardon amplifier, LG DVD/VHS player, hue lights). I suppose the caveat here is that I’m an IT professional and deal with different interfaces regularly. Still I would imagine that most people considering the harmony remote should be able to figure this out with a bit of googling of their issues. Now I’ve sorted it all out the harmony remote seems to work great..Version: 5.7

Update your AppHey Guys, firstly want to say thanks for having such a simple idea brought to the masses! Absolutely love the remote and hub setup for controlling my house! I have been a committed user for the last 5 years but over that time I have seen little to nothing regarding major updates or revamping of the app or Harmony platform at all. Im really not sure why you are not investing effort into it as you have a massive opportunity to capitalize on the head start you already have in the smart home ecosystem. Fingers are crossed you are about share all the new refreshing and exciting updates.... but I want hold my breath. 5 stars coming your way once I see dark mode on widgets and also a god dam Apple Watch app... come on guys sort it out please!.Version: 5.7.4

I was wrong 🙁I had previously slated this app but after the help from my son to set up the hub I am now pleased with how it works. But I will say that for the average person trying to set it up may find, like me, it’s too difficult. Not the fault of the product but the very technical times that we live in.🤔.Version: 5.4.4

Credit when credit dueThis app used to be like a house that was added too and added too and not well planed. It was disjointed and confusing as hell. It looks like it’s been consolidated into a more efficient layout and less confusing. It’s smoother and more reliable. I have restored faith that Logitech is listening and working hard to make a smart hub with a smart app! Keep up the good work! There’s still plenty I would change to make it more efficient, but I’m sure you can figure it out from all the other negative comments. The actual logistics behind making this all just “work” must be incomprehensible!.Version: 5.3.3

Works perfect !I was very surprised to see the low reviews because it functions perfectly for me, although it goes without saying that Logitech has under delivered for those intending to use an iOS app full time as their remote. Enhancements I’d like are the ability to emulate the primary remote in both appearance (vertical scrolling is fine) and function (macros and long/short presses). The unrealized value of an app like this is the potential for relabeling the remote buttons to define the function I’ve assigned and change the layout and color of the GUI. And portrait orientation for iPhone unless we receive the ability to design the entire display, in which case I could live with one orientation. But the app does function as designed and for that I must give it 4 Stars and deduct one for design..Version: 5.4

This app isn’t nearly as bad as the reviewsI don’t usually write reviews but it looked like most of the reviews left were by people having their own tech issues. This app isn’t 100% perfect but it’s not rocket science. I’ve got two hubs and multiple devices set up and running through Alexa and Apple Home using homebridge. I’m not a tech person but everything has worked like a charm for over a year now. I wasn’t a major fan of how the system revolves around “activities” but it makes sense now that I’ve gotten used to it. Plus, it’s pretty easy to just click on “Devices” and control devices individually when necessary. Oh, and the finally been updated to the iPhone X UI, which was my biggest pet peeve. Overall, it’s still the best universal remote system on the market right now..Version: 5.4

Don’t understand the negative reviews?I’ve been using Logitech harmony products for years now, and finally upgrading to an ultimate a few years ago. Once the activities are set up it’s a breeze to use. The app gives me the ability to power down the kids watching tv and even set a time limit which is fantastic. One thing which would give this 5 stars would be the ability to have a child lock on the app locking the use of the remote thus the kids can’t switch it all on before bed time! I have zero problems with the app other than things I need to tweak and am too lazy to sort out. Good job Logitech 👍.Version: 5.4.4

Not soo bad. But not perfect. Yet.With a few simple changes this software could be perfect. There is the whole problem that Siri/Alexa can only use 'activities' (turn on TV/ Aircon/ playstation). But if not done correctly- starting one activity will end another activity. So turning on Aircon turns off TV. With a Logitech physical remote or the app/ you can control each device manually. But a bit fidley. Also no desktop software anymore and unsure how to teach/ learn IR from other remotes. Needs simplifying a little or better support..Version: 5.7.1

Glitch in connection set upHello, I like the app, does what it needs to do. The setup config though cannot find the harmony hub after the hub connects to the router on a different ip address. Surely there could be a check built in in the app, otherwise the app keeps searching and won’t find the harmony hub..Version: 5.4

2 Year User Review Harmony EliteI bought the Harmony Elite package over two years ago and couldn’t be happier with it. There are many negative reviews but considering the configurability of this universal remote offering, I’m confident that all the negative reviews are due to user error. It’s a complex consumer offering competing directly with professional remote control offerings from the likes of URC. Unlike URC which requires a professionally licensed technician to install, configure and update, Harmony puts the power in the hands of the consumer. Hats off to them for giving consumers a choice. The Harmony app and remote do exactly what they are programmed to do by the user. If the user does a hack job of programming it, poor results are what you will get. Plain and simple, it’s user error. Thank you for a quality product!.Version: 5.7.7

Works wellWorks well as a companion to the harmony remote. Convenient for when you want to control the TV and the other half has taken over the remote 😋.Version: 5.6.1

Great appYeah it’s a great app so whenever my tv is glitched or my ps4 doesn’t turn on I use this app.Version: 5.7.7

It really works wellHaving had a harmony remote for years and it getting a bit slow and tired we upgraded to harmony hub. It migrated everything and just worked ootb. Using it with two iPhones simultaneously even worked! Very happy, thank you..Version: 5.5

Works Well Most Of The TimeWorks great most of the time, but when it does have issues, it’s not that easy to troubleshoot. But otherwise pretty good..Version: 5.7.8

Volume works nowYou guys are awesome! I’ve had this app for years now. Yes one of your previous updates no longer allowed you to use the volume control buttons on your actual iPhone however the on screen buttons within the app still worked flawlessly. Now you’ve updated the app again so the buttons on the side of your phone control the volume again. You guys rock! Love this app because hubby constantly misplaces the remotes or falls asleep clutching them lol Thanks again for this amazing app that controls everything!.Version: 5.7.11

IPhone volume buttons now workingJust installed the latest update and the iPhone volume buttons are now working. They had stopped working after the IOS 15 update. Thank you for the fix..Version: 5.7.11

Works well!Thanks..Version: 5.7.11

Steep and long learning curveIt has taken me a year to learn how to use this hub. It has been frustrating and dumbfounding at times, but in the end it is a powerful and good hub that can truly control a ton of devices. I have 20+ lights (switches and dimmers), 3 tv’s, 14 Sonos speakers, and fans on this. With scenes galore and geo settings set up thru life 360 it automates a ton of things for us. I use the Z Wave hub as well to control the lights. We also integrate with Alexa and I can verbally control my entire TV sets with cable box and fire tv and Roku even to change channel and adjust volume and music. Of course there are tiny quirks and some small gaps, but overall it is impressive. Occasionally there are app updates that can introduce some minor changes but it is stable for the most part. Logitech has a hard job with all the devices and features and lack of knowledge for consumers so hats off to them. So be prepared to make this a learning experience. It took me a year to get it close to perfect, but I do love it. Learn to research on your own, use google and forums, leverage their Cust service. My wife who is not tech savvy still can make everything work so I’m the end, it’s functional..Version: 5.3.3

Love it. Works well and easy to use. What can I say. Updating to the elite controller as I love this one so much..Version: 5.6.2

A very flexible and long lasting applianceI have been using the same harmony hub and remote for nearly 10 years and it has been able to adapt to two sound system upgrades and the addition of smart lighting. Probably the most comprehensive speeds product updating of any of my many smart devices. This app is critics for its UI complexity but the managed environment itself is complex. My main point is that it keeps on working, year after year and does not suffer from built-in technical obsolescence. That is worth a lot these days..Version: 5.7.13

IOS 14.5Updated iOS to 14.5… now my iPhone won’t connect to the hub…. again..Version: 5.7.9

Finally workingAfter struggling with a major problem setting up, all is now great. Problem occurred when learning a command from an hdmi switch. This was hanging the hub! Now only a minor problem exists in that most of the favourites for roku have no icons..Version: 5.6.1

Excellent!I read some of the negative reviews before purchasing the Harmony ultimate remote with hub. But I took a chance anyway and boy am I glad I did. It took a while to set up. However once I figured out what adjustments to make in the settings in the app and on my equipment (including turning off the Anynet+ feature on all devices which really confuses the remote), everything works flawlessly. I am very impressed with the level of detail that all of the menus have, both in the app and also on the remote. My only complaint might be that the remote control is rather small and which makes it awkward to reach the volume, channel selector, and mute buttons with the thumb. However, after getting use to using the greater swipe functions, these buttons are no longer necessary! I set the hub across the room from my entertainment center and it has had no problems controlling all of my devices. I would recommend this app and the Harmony Ultimate remote highly..Version: 5.3.3

Reliable and stable but...Works really well, connects easily to hubs without wasting anytime and very reliable. A must have when you have a sat receiver shared by two or more rooms I would have given it 5 stars if the device screen arrangements were better. For instance when controlling a directTV receiver the various functions are scattered over 5 pages you have to scroll between, most of the pages being half empty. Swipe to page 4 to find the guide button, then back to page 2 for the arrow or page up/down and to page 1 to enter a channel number. Then back to page 4 to press info. And one final swipe to page 2 for OK. Silly.Version: 5.4.4

Makes the complex much easierHome theater setups are inherently complex. So many different pieces of equipment by so many different manufacturers using a combination of Bluetooth and WiFi and infrared receivers. I got a Harmony Hub and I was impressed with how easy it was to set everything up. It takes a while - there’s no magic way around the complexity - but I can’t really see how anyone could make it any easier than Logitech has done with their Harmony lineup. Now that my home theater is working well, I’m seriously considering - for the first time ever - getting more smart devices like an Echo..Version: 5.2.2

Works greatWe use it to control our complete entertainment system, tv, PlayStation, Xbox, cable box, satellite box and nexus hub. Very rarely have a problem with it..Version: 5.7.11

Does not deserve the bad rapI will admit that setting it up was a bit harder work than I anticipated as I had to do some manual “fettling” of the sequences to get it to work as I wanted, especially timings as some devices automatically switch on others through HDMI, so getting the right devices to come on first was crucial, but nothing that a bit of experimentation didn’t cure. I am controlling an Apple HD TV, Panasonic Blu Ray, Samsung TV, venerable Yamaha DSP-A1 amp and Sky Q box all with no trouble and the entire family use the app and remote with no issues, before that would be 5 remotes and a raft of instructions from me if they wanted to watch Apple TV when they had been watching Sky. I am an electronic engineer, so maybe I am used to not needing to be guided through every step, but in my opinion, Logitech have done their best to make it as easy as they can do, bearing in mind the amount of devices it supports and all the possible scenarios users might want. No technical know-how is needed, just some logical thought, patience and the knowledge that it might take you an entire evening to get it running as you want. Remote, Hub and app fully deserve 4 stars in my opinion..Version: 5.7.11

App review (not a review of the remote)The app is about as full featured as I could want but that level of complexity comes at a price with some post initial setup options buried deep in a nest of menu pages. Once you understand the rational it makes sense but I fear some users may never discover them. Initial setup of a new hub went slowly until I understood I needed to create a new user account rather than log into my (very) old Harmony 1100 one. I was relieved to be able to import devices from that old user account later in the setup. The setup did lead me down the garden path somewhat when it found my Apple TV on the network but eventually I discovered the “Harmony Pro” Bluetooth Apple TV 4k device which gave me more functionality. Still not a complete replacement for the Apple TV 4k remote with my NFL Gamepass app but good enough for many tvOS apps. The app offers an easy to use virtual remote on both my iPhone and iPad, functionality I tend not to use but nice to have. Well worth the download from the app store but be prepared to spend time learning what it can do..Version: 5.7.7

Best out there for the moneyWhen it’s set up right it fantastic👍👍👍👍 Most of the reviews on here is are bad only because they didn’t set it up right.. Time to set up and program should take around 40mins with 8 Devices..Version: 5.4

Love itAbsolutely amazing app , love it. Just want I needed. Keep up the great work developers..Version: 5.4

Life ChangingSo, I may be different than most users, but I think this app is awesome! I suffer from MS, I no longer have use of my arms. I am able to use my iPhone by using a stylus I hold in my mouth. This app is the only way I can control my TV, Stereo, DVD/VHS Player and Computer. I was already familiar with Harmony Remote Controls and their Activities-Based operation, so my learning curve was admittedly a shallow one. I was able to easily find all of my components in their extensive library. Setup was straightforward and logical given my experience with similar products. Once I learned how to edit buttons and upgraded to an iPad (larger screen to manipulate with my stylus) the app became incredibly useful (I’ve changed my review to 5 stars). I had some issues with a stereo system and the good folks at Harmony got in touch with me and we sorted things out, Now I’ve purchased a Hisense smart TV, and found that the app’s commands for <mute> and <home> don’t work properly. I have no doubt they’ll be in touch soon….Version: 5.7.11

Works Fantastic modernize old equipment. This app match with the Harmony Elite and an AppleTV works fantastic. You don’t need the Apple TV but if you have older av equipment that isn’t smart an AppleTV makes modern day media access work trouble free. This app enables you to control all your old equipment that isn’t on the network over your WiFi network from your smartphone or tablet. Have that iPad or your iPhone that is in your pocket, “can’t find the remote” is no longer a problem. The app walks you through setup via onscreen instructions. You don’t touch the harmony remote at all. First step is crucial make sure harmony hub is connected to the same WiFi network as your smartphone. WiFi signal must be strong. Place Router for optimum signal distribution or if it’s older than 6 years you might want to replace for a mimo/beam forwarding router..Version: 5.7.11

Good appDespite the bad reviews I found this app to be stable, easy to use and it does everything I need it to. Lot easier than booting up the PC and running the Windows version to tweak something..Version: 5.5

Was a little worried, but pleasantly surprisedI took delivery of my Logitech Elite and hub yesterday and followed the instructions to download the app. I was slightly alarmed by the low app-store rating, but obviously already committed by then. The app worked perfectly, migrating my previous remote settings to the Elite and helping me set up some new stuff too. I’m very happy with the new remote and the performance of the app too..Version: 5.3.3
