Harmony® Control for Negative User Reviews

Just avoid itUser interface is still slow and unintuitive, even on brand new hardware. I don’t use activities as no matter how much I’ve tried, it will not turn my TV on, causing me to have to use the “fix” function, yet when the TV is turned on from the devices tab, it turns on fine first try. Fair enough, just use the devices tab then, but you can never make the app open devices first and will always open on activities even if there are no activities to show. With the death of the OSX app, and being forced to use this, just buy anything else. You’ll be less frustrated..Version: 5.7.7

Needs an updateSince the most recent update I can no longer control my denon amp, was working great for ages but now useless to me, I have 2 hubs in the house and have tried setting both up both to control the amp and they do not work. Other 3rd party ones work as well as the original amp remote, so deffo something wrong on the software side of things. Hoping they bring out a software update and fast!! I’m using the harmony ultimate.Version: 5.6.2

Needs some fixingWorks most of the time, occasionally it takes a lot longer to do certain things. The widget barely ever works anymore, it was my favourite thing about the app as it’s convenient to turn on something without having to open the app.Version: 5.4.4

Complete garbageAbout one in ten times, the app finds the hub. You can then access the activities and I reckon do everything the app has to offer. Here's the kicker: after this one in ten moment, the app starts reporting that it can't detect the hub. Re-scan, still can't find it, restart the app, still can't find it, restart the hub, STILL can't any find it. Hub is connected to WiFi no confirmed no problem. Then I just go back to my other remotes until a month or so later thinking hey maybe they have this pile of trash working. Nope. I actually bought the add-on remote thinking well let's just use a physical remote directly supported and integrated with the hub. But because the hub doesn't work you can't set up the gd remote. There should be a lawsuit about this line of products. It's that bad. Stay away from the hub and the app..Version: 5.6

SlowNormally a great app but the extremely slow firmware check that happens late when you get in deep. Not sure why the app cannot check for firmware when you startup app or in the background. The firmware / update checks just occur at the worst times and they are never quick. Other than the slow / sluggish performance, the app is generally good and easy to use.Version: 5.4.4

I hate this appShouldn’t have to hope and pray the app will work every time I go to turn the TV on. Looks like I’m in good company with leaving a 1 star review..Version: 5.7.13

Cool idea, good product, terrible appThis app is clearly not native. Every now and again a title bar will disappear. Scrolling is pathetic and slow, and without inertia. They have this bizarre backward and forward convention up top that breaks all other well understood convention on iOS. If you add or change a device be prepared to recreate all activities and remove the old ones because the activities are tied to the initial devices. Hope you don’t want to customize the buttons shown after you pick an activity like you could do with harmony of old because I haven’t found a way (there is a chance this is possible but their user experience is just that bad). This app is a hot mess, only redeemed by a pretty great idea that generally works once you labor through setup..Version: 5.3.2

User experience poorThe user experience is quite foreign as an experienced iOS user, plus feels firmly behind the times. The experience then falls apart altogether when dealing with multiple hubs and trying to set them up anew - it’s all too easy to fall into infinite loops. In the difficult process of resetting one of the hubs I ended up having to delete all the activities previously configured, which somehow deleted all the activities on my other hub. It’s fine when it works but getting there is a misery..Version: 5.3.3

Terrible AppIve had the Harmony Hub for about 2 years and its probably worked for half that time. Constantly loses connection and will not connect, prompting to go through setup again only to be told its already setup..Version: 5.7.11

Can’t set up my hub!Bought a harmony hub for Christmas, (HUB ONLY) when trying to set up using this app it asks me to place remote in cradle. I don’t have a remote! I can’t advance beyond this screen, therefore the hub was a complete waste of money and cannot be used. Please redesign this app to cover all your products. I tried to contact you before writing this review but could only find trouble shooting which doesn’t cover my problem..Version: 5.7.11

No longer works.Crashes testing activities and cannot connect via Bluetooth anymore.Version: 5.7.14

IPhone app has no menuI can set up new devices but no menu button or access to change activities. If I turn my device in using another controller none of the buttons work until I start an activity. Having everything linked to activities is a stupid idea. I have a universal programmable remote that costs $20 where I have activities buttons or macros and can still control individual devices all the time!.Version: 5.7.9

Harmony is a JokeMy dislike for Logitech or Logi is at its pinnacle. For the cost of the remotes and hubs one would expect a functional app but sadly this is not the case. I have one Elite Remote, Hub and Home Automation hub that work so so. This morning I was going to add a second hub on the other side of the house to control another audio system. Apparently that isn’t possible, the app can’t find the hub during setup. The hub turns green at the end of everything but the app still says it needs to be set up. Having to log into my Harmony account EACH TIME IT REATTEMPTS SETUP is ridiculous, EVERYTIME. Hey Logitech, it’s me, the person who two minutes ago entered the correct 24 character password. They’ve made the whole user experience so poor that I’m going to sent the hardware back and go with another solution all together. Stay away from any Harmony product unless you have time and energy to waste..Version: 5.7.3

“Improved SSO” should mean broken SSOI’m unable to SSO into any of my 3 Hubs which I could do 10 hours ago. Normally it wouldn’t update but the app wouldn’t function without it. App is unusable just like the Mac desktop app. UPDATE 2+ weeks going back-and-forth with support (One response daily from them) i’ve been given the exact same troubleshooting instructions six different times. And asked to provide the same information for five different times. All three of my Harmony hubs are not working which were all wrekonf before the update. I absolutely regretting buying the two additional hubs this year since the one had worked for me for at least five years with no issue. Nightmare support and a ridiculously repetitive process to solve the simple obstacle of logging in which worked fine on the previous app..Version: 5.7.10

Can’t add/edit devices and activitiesApp has always worked well for me, but in the last year I’ve had the greatest challenges. It fails in its fundamentals. My hub is connected to WiFi and works as it should, sending signals to my devices and controlling them, except when I attempt to edit or add devices or activities. I keep getting a pop up window telling me I need to be on the same WiFi network as the hub in order to do this. Well, I have only one WiFi router pushing one network through my home and my phone/tablets are all on it, as is the hub. So, I’m stuck. I’ve tried visiting the myharmony website for answers or an ability to access my setup from there, but I’m just directed to download the app I already have, so that’s not helpful when the app can’t function. The “universal” applicability of the harmony hub remote is lost when I’m degraded to using separate remotes to control multiple devices..Version: 5.3.3

Clunky to set up and now frozenI've been trying to edit my devices for days now. The app will not get past 25% download where it sticks forever. Having paid over $300 for the device I expect better backup and some response to pleas of assistance on numerous social platforms. Logitechs ears are deaf..Version: 5.7

Works, but completely counter intuitiveThe app works, and I can control my devices using the app or companion remote. But I’ve never seen an app so poorly designed in terms of usability. Options and editing are done like six different places with no rhyme nor reason to where things are hidden. There is no manual, and the support web site is also unfriendly, so I end up doing internet searches every tome I need to do something beyond the basics. It’s like four teams each designed a part separately, and then they had an intern glue it together into one app. For remote control, use the physical remote. Trying to swipe though screens on the app is frustrating, and since there’s no physical feedback, I have to look down to use the remote. So 4.5 stars for the hardware and a negative 3 for the software..Version: 5.7.5

The most frustrating app. Harmony was better on Mac or PCConfiguration shouldn’t be as tedious and FRUSTRATING as this, especially for such an expensive product. I simply had to change my TV terminal, it’s been 3 hours and i’m still not able to do so. Fake errors with the Logitech Server that seems “OK” online, cannot simply connect to the hub or reset it properly without accessing its settings by LUCK. This is the absolute worst experience with a product. Harmony was WAY BETTER AND EASIER CONNECTED TO USB ON A COMPUTER!.Version: 5.7.14

Adequate at bestWahoo they’ve fixed the widget. The app and system generally needs a massive UX overhaul. Actually, too far past that stage, make a new app with a new name probably the best way to proceed. This thing is a UX nightmare. The syncing of your configuration between remote, your local computer and Logitech servers is confusing and convoluted. Pretty sure there’s still that massive bug/issue of not being able to have the same favourites lists across activities. Either way. It’s just a nightmare..Version: 5.6.2

Okay, but unreliableApp does a decent job of controlling the harmony hub, and is essential for setup and configuration. Unfortunately setup process is slow and clunky. Once everything is setup, the experience doesn’t get much better. App frequently disconnects from the hub, then asks for a login. This means you have to disconnect the app and then reconnect it to the hub. Additionally on the iPhone the app randomly turns the tv volume up and down when it is opened and closed. Finally there is no ability to customise the interface, so you are stuck with whatever Logitech gives you. That means for some of my devices you need to swipe around a lot to get simple things done..Version: 5.3.3

One of the worst apps in historyOne of the worst apps in history, slightly better than its desktop counterpart. Unfortunately you have no choice but to use it. Confusing navigation, random logins to the harmony server, and lots of other annoyances. A company of Logitech’s caliber should be ashamed of letting this out of the gate. The actual hub however is impressive and supports many devices. Solved a lot of problems for me..Version: 5.6

Removed supportCan’t use safari so doesn’t work in iPhone anymore since you can’t login.Version: 5.7.7

Don’t update to 5.7.8It wasn’t great to begin with, but now it doesn’t even load since the 5.7.8 update a few days ago. It crashes immediately after loading..Version: 5.7.8

Too slowTakes to long to connect. Need to be as fast as dedicated remote.Version: 4.7.4

It couldn’t be worseGarbage We have had two remotes with hubs for a number of years. If you had to change a command it was easy. Now you just can’t login to their servers using this app, and customer support is useless. Two throw aways due to this useless app.Version: 5.7.13

Simply AWFULDifficult to convert just how badly designed this app is. Whoever put it together write down a set of use cases, didn’t consider that some people might have very different user cases, and ONLY CONSIDERED SUCCESS PATHS. If any thing goes wrong at any stage, chances are you’re totally screwed. A lot of the time there’s no way to cancel or go back, and no way out of the completely inappropriate sequence of steps they’ve decided you are going to take. And when I finally DID get the horrible thing set up, it then refused to connect, just saying “checking for changes” over and over again. With – of course – no way to cancel or reset. Horrible and useless. Don’t waste your money like I did..Version: 5.7.4

Pain in the .....Not a very user friendly user interface, requiring paging back and forward to get things done. Then after a while insists you log in again (why??) and when you do it refuses to accept your password. A waste of space. Just stick with the supplied remote, which is much easier to use anyway. And no, I didn’t change userid or password. Further, while the app appears to offer a work around via Facebook or Google sign on neither work. After sign on with either of these services i simply get circled back to to the point where the Harmony password must be entered. Recommendation: once setup is complete stick with the hardware remote and forget the app..Version: 5.4.2

Incredibly poorly made app/productI rarely leave app reviews but this app/product is so awful I feel it's my responsibility to warn others. It just doesn't work properly. I have spent hours configuring various 'activities' within the app to do things like turn on my TV, change video source, and raise/lower sound bar volume. These activities rarely work well, and frequently only part of the command will run, resulting in a situation where maybe my sound bar turns on but my TV does not, but harmony now believes both devices are on, so I have to go find my old TV and sound bar remote controls and manually sync everything up. When I try to control harmony via my Google home mini speaker, you need to be perfectly specific with your commands or harmony will not understand them, but harmony sometimes will just tell me that it's 'refreshing my account' instead of doing what I asked. This app and product have made my TV experience vastly more complicated and I'll probably end up throwing it all in the garbage. I am a software emgineer for a living, the people Logitech has working on this should be ashamed of the work they've turned in, it's a truly abysmal user experience..Version: 5.3.3

Clunky and terribleIt’s bad enough that the app is clunky and terrible to use. Once I had the hub set up I never used the app again. Except I got a new device and wanted to simply add it to the setup. All of a sudden it starts asking me for all these logins and when I fill it all out my entire setup has been deleted. Great hardware. TERRIBLE software.Version: 5.7.9

Refuses to Stay Connected to My NetworkI have tried about 10 times today and hsve had go delete all devices and settings including resetting the hub just to enter everything again, get an Activity set up then the app circles back to try and re-connect to my Network. That fails and I am forced to start over. Incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I expect better but am not surprised. Logitech consistently produces solid hardware but their software has always lagged behind going back more than a decade minimum. I completely agree with DaPlatter’s review This on iOS 16.Version: 5.7.13

Good but not goodThe best part of the system is the ease of programming. The app itself is painfully slow to load, needs watch app. As for the physical remote, love it!!! It’s small and simple.Version: 5.3

Update and supportAn iOS update killed the app on my iPad Air2 I reported it to logi support and they responded with an explanation and had a bug fix in a couple of days. I have a Harmony Touch paired with a Harmony Hub, took a while to configure but was worth the effort. Thanks to the support team 🇨🇦😷👽.Version: 5.7.9

AvoidThis is a seriously flawed app. The desktop app does not work, the iPhone app freezes at one point. Different wifi networks tried, different devices, different accounts - always goes to one point (place handset in cradle) and will not continue. Logitech is NOT Mac friendly.Version: 5.7.7

JUST Don’t Bother !!!Picked up a harmony hub and downloaded this App. Followed all the steps on the app. Device learnt the power on/off buttons and a few others showed green ticks next to them showing they were successfully learnt . Get to the inputs part. Fill in option that says it uses the up and down keys to select input. Get to the final part and EVERY SINGLE TIME creates an error in the app and I have to start from the beginning. IVE TRIED about 30 times and tried selecting different options but even after I test the power on/off it doesn’t work. I’ve spent the last 4 hours trying to set this hub up without success and the app is lacking and is buggy. Back for a refund..Version: 5.7.4

Great idea but frequently doesn’t workThe single biggest issue with this app is that it works about 50% of the time. Sometimes it won’t connect to the hub, sometimes it won’t start a device. Editing activities is a bit hit and miss - randomly erases some or all of you startup activities so you have to start again. Great idea. Poor execution and UX..Version: 5.6.2

Great - while it works!Good app when it works. Works perfectly for a while, then suddenly it will not connect to the hub - and it is a major pain to get it to reconnect. This has happened several times, and it is really frustrating!.Version: 5.7.13

Primitive but usefulI like having the hub to control from my phone when the kids lose the remote, but only works half the time with Alexa (ex: changing volume) and the app lacks cognitive functionality. Also, what brings me to this review today is there is no help section on how to add missing features: like why when customizing the remote there is no “power” option within the sequences? I need to power cycle my speakers sometimes when I get back feed, but I have to manually do this because I cannot create a custom action. So - Pro this app and hub brings simple tech to common headaches. Cons - it creates new headaches (sadly for a tech savvy person like myself and it comes with a constant reminder of the new headaches from my wife)..Version: 5.7.10

AppallingI can't believe how poor this software is. Logitech should be ashamed of how slow it is and how often it crashes. Why not allow offline setup and then download to the hub instead of downloading every last change which then has to sync to the remote and phone app. zzzzzz. Also why can't i edit the sequences like add a step or delete a step? To make a change you have to delete and start again. Really really bad..Version: 5.4

DisappointingI recently received the harmony hub with a basic remote for Xmas. It’s something I’ve wanted for a long time because I’m always fumbling with multiple remotes in my living room. But sadly, this implementation is way more clumsy than I anticipated. So far I haven’t been able to get the Harmony app to recognize my 3rd gen Apple TV. Also, there’s no easy way with the remote to switch between controlling devices which makes it pretty much just a replacement for one remote, and who needs another remote to add to their pile? The app is not optimized for the iPhone X screen and looks terrible. The app should be rebuilt from the ground up as the UI is counter intuitive and very confusing. It would be nice to have a screen where you have all you devices side by side at the bottom of the app (like iOS normal bottom-screen menu) and controls on top. Simplify. Overall the functionality is there to have an awesome universal remote app, but the implementation and execution is sloppy, ugly and clumsy..Version: 5.3.3

Terrible app - limited functionality and Alexa integration is uselessI purchased the Harmony Hub to enable a set of equipment in my living room be controlled through my phone and Alexa. To start the large support for equipment is false, because although they are in the database it’s not supported correctly. A few examples: 1) I have an air conditioner but it’s not supported, I had to create a complex configuration to make it work. Furthermore to control it through Alexa I had to create an activity since it doesn’t add a device to Alexa only an activity. That also means that if I start another activity the air conditioner gets shutdown, since the hub and the app only can have on activity on at a time. 2) I have an onkyo receiver that is in the database, but important features such as controlling zone 2 and 3 are not supported. And if I add it as an activity to control it by voice my AC gets shutdown. 3) Apple TV - it’s in the database but does not support many of the commands of the new type of remote such as turning it off with one button. Conclusion, 1) to use it to work with Alexa is not viable because it only add activities and not the devices to Alexa and activities do not work concurrently. 2) to use the app as a Controler also not viable because the usability is bad and the support to control devices is limited..Version: 5.5

Needs a ton of WorkThis could be a great app but to many problems! Can’t delete functions from a device because you have to move forward to sync but no option to delete the function. How stupid, there should be a button to sync remote in any screen the moment you make a change if you so choose too! Navigation is a nightmare plain and simple! Have to go through three menus to change anything! Can’t change home screen of remote. Most importantly it can’t even do the primary function of a remote and that is turning off my tv! If I choose to use remote the app is useless, if I choose mini blaster + hub it won’t turn my tv off! Turns it on just fine!! I gave it 2 stars because I can actually turn things on with one press!!.Version: 5.4.4

Not recommendUnfortunately as others have expressed during their review, this is not a working app. It seems to be a beta version with trial and error, in progress waiting for customer feedback to tweak it. I had this for several years now, and I had to constantly install/uninstall to get the basic functions working.Version: 5.7.13

Could be greatHad my Harmony Hub for years and the software has got much better over time but a few updates have really let it down. My single biggest gripe, let us remove sequences from Activities. Just because you switch from one activity to another doesn’t mean you want to switch off all the devices if the previous activity. Let us remove steps from a sequence, sometimes you switch back and forth and it’s painful that the Harmony Hub switches things off every time you switch. Please sort this and the all will be great again..Version: 5.7.7

Ok if it worksOccasionally it will refuse to connect for no reason for a period of time. Then it will decide it will connect.. the iPhone volume buttons don’t work. I have to use in app controls..Version: 5.7.11

Awkward, but functionalThe Harmony Hub concept is great and the dedicated remote works really well, despite the lack of activity buttons, but this app is very poorly executed. All the functionality from the old Harmony system is there but it’s buried randomly in hard to find corners. On top of that, the non-native UI is ugly and awkward. Having said all that, once you get it set up and install the Today widget (do that!) it works pretty well. The Today widget, which lets you start/stop activities without unlocking your device, is great. For some reason it uses white text & graphics instead of black, unlike every other Today widget, but I can forgive that minor quibble. Every now and then the system will go off the rails and require a reboot, but that’s just the state of gadgets today. (See my previous review below for my experience of such an occasion.) Previous Review: This app used to do the job, barely, but lately it’s gotten worse. The Today widget, which was the best thing about the app, now just says “Failed to load”. When I try to change the settings on my devices it complains that I’m not on the same WiFi network as the hub. Well yes, actually, I am. Lame..Version: 5.2.2

Harmony is not what it used to beHarmony remotes used to be the cadillacs of universal remotes. Now they can’t even control my tv wich is exactly the jobs that it’s supposed to do. Terribly slow app, keeps trying to sync to cloud everytime you try to do anything (why does it have to sync to cloud just to open my tv?) then it doesn’t work and throws an error so i end up using my original tv remote. Sometimes the hub freezes so you press the activity button multiple times because you think it didn’t get the commands then after 10-15 seconds it unfreeze and does everything at the same time so my tv turns on and off like 4 times. Logitech discontinued the Harmony lineup but said we would still get updates and support yet they clearly don’t care about maintaining the harmony servers so they can run properly. This is exactly why cloud devices are a terrible idea . If the company decides they don’t care about a product you paid for anymore, it just becomes a paperweight and there’s nothing you can really do.Version: 5.7.14

Lousy interface, great productLogitech has always had the smartest of smart remotes. Most universal remotes give you access to all your devices, allowing you switch between and sometimes have a universal volume control. With the Harmony series, once everything is set up, a single press on your app, or companion remote starts an activity and gives you access to all the functions you need. We’ve used it for years with few problems. So why only 3 stars? This app works for the initial guided setup and for control inside the app. But the user interface for setting up or changing things later is terrible. It takes me 10 minutes of plinking around to find out to how assign things to the remote. Every time. They need a UI specialist to go through trying to use this in a home environment over a period of time and make recommendations on changing the interface. I hope they continue to support this. I know they sell a lot more keyboards than remotes. But with a little more work, a lot more publicity, and maybe a slightly better price point, even with streaming services, these remotes could take over the market..Version: 5.7.7

Shameful.Logitech is a large electronics company, who has the resources to create wonderful products. Which makes the interface, bugs, and overall lack of polish related to this app and the hub software is astounding. Unfortunately they are the “leading” home entertainment control system, and therefore I have to use this terrible excuse for software to configure my remote/ hub. I plead with any Silicon Valley (and beyond) engineer with too much free time: Make an Eero styled version of this system (without gimmicky remotes) and force Logitech to buy you. Or Logitech (I write this knowing your 3rd rate “support” / “customer service” will never read this) spend the money on fixing this dumpster fire and do right by your customers. Your app has 2 stars - fire the product manager on this and put a 12 year old in their place. I’m willing to bet it’d be better..Version: 5.5

YikesThat’s a lot of 1 Star reviews. I’ll add one to the pile, this app sucks.Version: 5.7.7

Needs updatingCan’t edit channels. Not a great app fix the desktop version is a better option..Version: 5.7.5

PleasePlease allow us to customise activity screen. Only do half a dozen things but I can’t put them on a single screen have to page through useless options..Version: 5.7.4

Fundamentally flawedI’m throwing my Harmony hub in the bin the moment Google Home has full control with my shield. An awful process in using Harmony software and the programmers should be summarily executed for this blight on modem humanity..Version: 5.3

Horrible user experienceThis is not a refined piece of software. There are typos in central parts of the UI. Coming from the software industry, this screams lack of stringent QA process. This is also evident due to the lack of ability for the app to properly connect to the hub. In my case, the app endlessly loops through sync in progress and checking for changes. No option to cancel or otherwise escape this loop without quitting the app. If you’re reading this review, you’ve probably recently purchased a Logitech remote and hub package. If you can get this to work in your use case, then you should celebrate. In my situation, I have burned through more than three hours in the setup process and am planning on returning this mess. All of this hassle is due to Logitech’s abysmal software. Even just creating an account within Logitech’s online service is an infuriating mess. Like in their desktop app, somehow it prevents the user from typing an @ symbol yet is asking for an email address. How does that get through QA?!? Answer: Logitech has no QA for software development..Version: 5.5

Lacks an important featureIt is such a shame that the Harmony hub/remote is so great but the Alexa skill is not up to the same standard. For example, why is it not possible to edit device friendly names without disabling and re-enabling the skill? Come on developers, bring the app up to scratch. It’s such a pain in its present form..Version: 5.4.4

Nice remote ruined by rubbish appThe web based app was questionable but actually worked rather well. This version of the app has ruined a really good product. Mine has been trapped in some loop that means it is constantly trying to start my Blu-ray player. Further than that it isn’t very intuitive, awkward to use and is a massive step backwards from the desktop app. Logitech have managed to make a great big of kit virtually useless. Worst thing is I have 2 of them, soon to be on an eBay near you.......Version: 5.7

Horribly thought out use casesHad the app for a couple months now and its mind boggling why so many features either don't work or have certain caveats that make it unusable. For example, why can't users insert a delay anywhere in the sequence, I have my power strip connected so that when my TV is off so is everything else. This means I need a delay build in so that the stereo and other devices can get power to receive their ON command. Half the time I turn on my system the tv turns on and nothing else. Another problem is the app is completely unintuitive. You have to click through terrible edit menu's just to update an activity. The connectivity and concept are great but this app needs a ground up reboot with some serious reengineering . It looks like it was built as an afterthought..Version: 5.3.1

Painfull to use no improvementFor a company as big as Logitech having years and years and years of poor reviews why don’t you make the app better it’s so slow!!! So much paging back and forward it takes hours to setup and if you have to delete something from an activity oh boy... set aside a day to set it up... When it works it works well but this app is so bad!!!.Version: 5.7.7

StuckI made the mistake of wanting to edit the activity. Stuck on connecting to harmony servers.... Tried restarting app, the Hub, etc all in vain..Version: 5.6.1

Continuous crashes on set upThis app is simply not working in setup mode so I swapped to setup on pc. App still doesn’t work properly. This needs to be fixed!.Version: 5.7.1

Poor softwareI’m onto my fourth hour now and still can’t figure out the details. Might’ve ok for dummies but isn’t good for detailed automation. It’s a pity because the Harmony products used to be brilliant but this app is unusable and the $200 device requires the app. Maybe I can sell it on eBay..Version: 5.7.5

A crippled product from an abandoned appNice work removing the harmony widget. I would never have bought this product if I’d known you were going to not only abandon the app’s development, but also take out features I use every day. Cheers guys! Great work..Version: 5.7.6

We love Harmony, but...We’ve recently bought a harmony hub with the touch screen remote and it is great. The app makes it simple to set things up. One thing I’ve noticed is that the widget both for 3D Touch and the side bar seem to have white icons on a white background and are a little hard to see. Opting for black icons like the rest of IOS would be better in my opinion..Version: 5.2.2

Had high hopesAwesome idea, tons of functionality but rarely connects on my iPhone. Bought a Samsung tablet as a universal remote and it works there consistently but for some reason the connectivity on my iPhones (as I’ve had the app for many years and iPhones) rarely occurs. So frustrating..Version: 5.7.13

Broken Feature(s)In a previous version of the app you we able to group philips hue light and set brightness levels etc within the app and for different scenes. Logitech have removed/broken this feature and now you can't do this. What the hell guys? This feature was awesome and actually really useful, why would you remove it?.Version: 4.0.4

New Phone? Tough LuckI’ve been a Harmony customer for many years and I’m seriously considering selling off all three of my hub/remote combos. Why? Any time a phone in my household is reset or changed, getting the existing, already configured and fully functional hubs to be seen by the Harmony app is near impossible. I’m currently on a new phone wondering if it’s even worth the trouble to get this app working on it or if I should just rely on my wife’s phone or iPad foe this purpose. This entire issue would not exist if this app, which is mediocre at best when it works, would prompt for login to your Logi account at first launch. Instead you are forced to go through a ridiculous process of discovering your hubs, which simply doesn’t work correctly if at all, THEN you can log into your account. This entire set up is ridiculous and the user experience is poor. Come on Logi, don’t you think it’s time to fix this?.Version: 5.4.4

Great but...If id have reviewed this app on the 1st few days of using it I may well have given it 1 star however when you figure it all out and it takes a while everything ends up working just fine. Aesthetically it needs looking at and could do with some interactive graphics like when you tap on favourite channels would be nice if there was some visual acknowledgement that you've tapped the channel you want or an audible click. One side effect of this app is it now makes my Harmony Elite redundant. Now after a few months of use: CRAP!!!.Version: 5.2.2

FailSub par - constantly loosing wifi signal - often slow response. Could do A LOT better..Version: 5.6.2

HorribleI had this app for close to 8 years and it just got worse and worse. The app gets stuck I. Downloading the configuration. The app stopped working the last two years or more I only tried the app last the last two years I cannot use the app anymore. It just gets stuck on downloading configuration. The Harmony hub does work with the remote, but I want the remote and the hub course out of sequence you’re screwed you just got a shut down everything and start from scratch..Version: 5.7.14

Years later.. still so badActivities still need simple improvements or an advanced mode to allow more granularity for advanced users. E.g the simple ability to not have on/off at the start and finish of activities. For multi zone or multi room you need multiple hubs but there has been no effort by Logitech to allow hubs to sync device status or for a better integration for common scenarios like two rooms. The Hubs are terrible.. Incredibly slow hardware and unreliable connectivity to POP bridge or apps.. even after years of firmware updates. There are clunky slow waits while the remote or app “syncs” after a simple activity change.. Don’t expect a nice experience.. it feels like 1990 again... The “elite” remote has 1-2 day battery life at best when just left doing nothing. Integration with Logitech POP is laughable considering they’re both a Logitech product. You can only get smart buttons to start activities not perform individual commands or sequences within an activity... So many people want a smart button to mute their amp especially if they’re using analogue sources like Vinyl. Workarounds like creating a “mute” activity are useless as too slow to respond and you have to have a “fudged” setup with activities wrongly named as a command or multiple device configs with “always on” power setting and reduced timings to try and make it faster. Logitech you don’t deserve to have the monopoly in this area.. it astonishes me no one else can be bothered to do it better..Version: 5.6.1

Setup is a total nightmareI have the harmony remote hub I bought from years back, and I’m stuck on a loop where attempting to setup and configure the hub. It fails to connect and gives me an error code which the website cannot answer. I can’t even get it up and running. This remote is garbage.Version: 5.7.7

Unable to access simple featuresOverall the remote app works with all my paired devices, however I’d like to add a custom wallpaper to my harmony remote and can’t seem to do so from the app. Also, the layout of device controls on the app is baffling, I have to swipe through multiple pages to do simple tasks, could you possible add an edit function so I can have the controls I use regularly on one screen?.Version: 5.7.14

Dread Making ChangesThis is the worst app I’ve used. Nothing feels fluid. It’s buggy, slow, clunky & fragile. Feels like what swimming in toffee would be like. Every slight change starts a synchronisation automatically. Wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t take so long each time. This just worsens the already painful experience slowing it down even more. A good customer journey would be “make all the changes, let the user synchronise or discard them at the end”. The app gets slower and slower the longer it’s in use and eventually grinds to a complete halt - needed killed and restarted. Editing activities often screws with the order of the steps - or removes some altogether! Changes often don’t appear until you force kill and restart the app. Its a great idea, but abysmally implemented. I waited over a year before writing this review hoping it would get better - it didn’t..Version: 5.7.4

Handy not having to find a remote and just use your phoneBUT after some use eventually it will no longer connect to the hub. The fix is uninstall/reinstall of the app and it work again until it decides to do this again. I use a iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s and it does this on all these devices..Version: 5.7.5

When it worksIt’s great when it works. However, I am tired of of the extremely unstable connection the app has with the hub. I have to reset the hub constantly following the dreaded spinning wheel ‘connecting to hub’ and then the failed to connect to hub message..Version: 5.7.9

So many problems, so little time...I got the app to work with the Harmony Hub to control my TV, PS4, etc. with Alexa. Setting all of this up took an unreasonable amount of time and Logitech need to drastically improve their Harmony interface, setup clarity and add some tutorials with example activities. Here are some of the problems I have come across using the app: 1. The app is horribly designed. It looks like some kind of default Windows XP program made by a first year CS student. 2. Integration with Alexa is unnecessarily convoluted and requires you to program all of your ‘activities’ first in Harmony, then make those Alexa friendly, and anytime you add a new activity to Harmony you have to redo the whole thing. 3. The Harmony server is slower than molasses. All your commands are on the cloud so you can use either your iPhone or iPad to control your devices. Awesome! Except their servers are constantly down or too slow to be reasonably functional. Just... why? 4. This isn’t their fault, but Sony doesn’t allow the PS4 to turn on with other remotes, because... reasons. There is a workaround though! If you have a CDC HDMI capable TV (like a Sony Bravia) you can boot your PS4 by creating an activity that turns on your TV > “sync menu” > “select”. You will have to play with the delays around a lot tough to get it working right..Version: 5.3

Good product, terrible software!Great piece of kit, let down by a poor design choice in the software. You can’t control individual devices independent of each other, meaning if my RF air con is on, and I’m watching TV, turning off my TV will turn off my air con, or turning off my air con will turn off my TV. You can manually control each device, but not using Alexa, as that only works with ‘activities’ where one ‘off’ command triggers everything to power down. If Logitech fix this, (they haven’t in years) this product will be the best consumer IR smart hun. Until then, it’s a half baked product stubbornly refusing to fufill its potential, and this app is largely to blame. Disappointed..Version: 5.4.2

Horrid app!Who wrote your app? I’d guess a monkey but that would be insulting to them. I’ve come across some pretty poorly written software but this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to comment. Do not buy this product..Version: 5.7.7

Very buggy on the an iPad Pro.Buggy and frustrating. Slow. I’m disappointed I hoped the harmony system would be more user friendly seeing as this is its main selling point..Version: 5.6

Kees Getting WorseJust when you think this company can’t possible get worse, it does. Our hub remote, which we’ve had a couple of years now, rarely works no matter how many times we’ve tried to reset it. It’s so painfully slow “connecting to Harmony servers”, which it has to do for every single adjustment. It can take us an hour to add a device, and that’s if it even succeeds. Now I’m no longer even able to log in to my account, and there’s no option to reset my password or anything. This may be the worst tech company I’ve ever had the misfortune to interface. Looking into different smart remote options now; there has to be something better than this. Money down the drain. Such a shame as our old Harmony remote previous to the hub worked almost flawlessly..Version: 5.7.7

Programming activities is just an exercise in futilityBasically, it seems the app is built around the idea that the end-user needs to cajole and fool the app into saving the steps they want. When I first got my Harmony a couple of years ago, I banged my head against programming the activities for a long, long time. Eventually I managed to trick the app into actually saving all of my steps and the activities worked pretty well after that. Recently, Apple decided it wanted to change its menu on the Apple TV. So I had to go in and update my Harmony activities to accommodate this. In trying to add or move any step within an activity I find random other steps are deleted. The disaster seems to be most prevalent if you have the temerity to try to move a step around within the activity. Which pretty much becomes a requirement when other steps randomly vanish and you need to replace them. I just finished another session where, yet again, while trying to add one of three steps that was randomly deleted from the top of the sequence, I found most of the steps had vanished from the bottom of the sequence after I had dragged a new step up to the top. I know if I redo the activity a dozen or so more times I might make everything stick, but there is no way an app in the 21st-century should have these kinds of glitches, especially from this company. There really is no excuse..Version: 5.6.1

TerribleI can’t believe that Logitech have released this product it is absolutely terrible it potentially could be really good but I’m Fortuny the software for the device is rubbish. The app doesn’t seem to work properly at all it took 10 times for me to get the hub to connect to my Wi-Fi and once it got connected there was just nothing but problems with dropouts things not syncing save yourself time and money and don’t buy this product with any luck Logitech will realise the mistake and release a new version is probable that actually worked correctly..Version: 5.6

Latest ‘defect fixes’ updates breaks widgetDon’t install this ‘fix’ update if you use the Harmony widget, as it is now broken. The widget now keeps trying to connect and then says “connection to hub failed”, even though the app itself connects and appears to work fine. I must also say that, when I originally bought the Harmony hub and remote, I was getting a top high-end system. But aside from many bugs and problems, the Harmony remote control system has been extremely disappointing in the overall way it works. It is extremely slow overall, it lags in its response between the remote and the action it takes, you can only do one thing at a time, and it ignores any button pushes or commands you give it if it is busy doing something else. I think the worst thing is the lag in response. For example, if you push the volume down button on the Harmony remote, or an arrow button, compared to pushing the same button on the manufactures remote, there is a huge difference in response time. This happens with every single device I use with Harmony. The next worst thing is no command buffering/queuing. For example, if you need to turn down a blasting loud sound system, but harmony is still busy turning on other systems, or even sending multiple incremental volume adjustment commands, it ignores anything you do on the remote until it’s finished so you have to keep pushing buttons hoping it will finish soon so you can finally send a mute command. I would not recommend or buy a harmony remote control system again, I’ve since found there are much better, faster, more responsive systems out there..Version: 5.7.9

AgainIn less than a week, deleting and downloading over and over again this app to make barely to work, worst experience ever.Version: 5.7.14

Latest version completely broken. The latest version of this software is now utterly broken - I can’t make a change to the configuration of my Harmony remote now. I log in... and then I get a message telling me it’s downloading my configuration. This gets to 25% and then hangs indefinitely. They’ve ditched support for Apple computers; apparently writing a 64-bit desktop app was too much of a challenge for their programmers. Support is abysmal... much of the website is incompatible with iPadOS and is a pain to navigate from a phone. There’s a telephone number if you want to spend over half an hour explaining your problem to someone... otherwise you can send an email and wait weeks for a response. I’ve been buying Logitech equipment for many years - they always used to be a guarantee of quality. It’s a shame to see a once-great company fall so far..Version: 5.7.5

Needs update ASAP Shortcuts force touch GoneShortcuts open app now whats happened is this going to be fixed ASAP this is why i use the app its quick ur app is to slow to open so i use the hold on icon feature but when i turn volume up or down it closes the shortcuts and opens the app not happy.Version: 5.7.5

Not for the techno impaired.Dropped to 2 stars. I have the expansion installed. I’m having to reboot the hardware almost daily. After a reboot, I have to go in and fix half the stuff. It’s just not getting any better. I still stand by my comment the interface needs some work, funky and not intuitive. Forget about reordering steps, I have to do that on the PC. The over all system is sensitive to change and doesn’t respond well when devices are controlled outside the app. An exception is the z-wave support that manages to maintain state due to the nature of the protocol, but it too can be sensitive. The most annoying thing is that I find my self continuously ‘fix’ing steps in activities and rebooting the hardware as it just stops working. As a side note, I use the system almost exclusively via google assistant/home voice integration. Adds an additional challenge as a slight change in the wording of a command can mean the difference between it recognizing the command or not - multiplied by two systems. Over all the integration works pretty well once you understand how to ‘communicate’ with the two systems. But the constant need to power cycle the hardware is getting very old. Again, 30 years in IT, the offer to find quality developers and product managers still stands. This product will die if not seriously reviewed..Version: 5.4

Awful appAwful is being kind. It often freezes and stops running sequences or responding to buttons. It’ll only get worse now that they’ve discontinued the harmony remote. Not sure how useless apps like this one get approved but someone should pay for wasting our time..Version: 5.7.13

Alexa and Harmony.Harmony works well through the app. But add Alexa to the mix and things go down hill pretty fast. It is very hit and miss and trying to get my Sky q to work through Alexa is hopeless. Working my Sony tv through Alexa and Harmony is very poor. Sometimes it work and most of the time it does not. Bought this hoping to be able to use my tv etc through Alexa but proving to be very frustrating and poor. Waste of my time. Alexa works fine with all my other products other than harmony..Version: 5.6.2

Wish activities had separate start and stop buttonsI really wish activities had separate start and stop buttons because it’s easy to get out of sync if someone uses another remote to turn off/on devices. As it stands, if someone turns on my tv and receiver without using the app, the app thinks everything is off. So now if I actually want to turn everything off, I have to start the “watch tv” activity (aka ‘turn on’ the devices that are already on) and then stop the activity (to actually turn them off). Also, occasionally an activity may not fully start (say for example someone was blocking the TV but the other devices turned on or off fine) - it would be nice to press the “start” or “stop” button for that activity again rather than cycle through on/off with a single button per the current model. I realize it’s possible to control each device outside of an activity but it’s a pain. One other small complaint is app button configurations do not transfer to other iPhones using the same hub..Version: 5.4.2

Absolute embarrassmentThis app is an absolute embarrassment. Either they need better backend servers that actually connect or they need a complete overhaul of this app. To sell the harmony product and use this app to configure it is just robbery. Logitech, you should be embarrassed with this junk.Version: 5.7.9

Still Cannot Produce a Usable AppIt will not allow changing the sequence of steps in an Activity. You cannot drag even though the "hamburger" is there to do so. Maybe they have not updated the app for iOS version 11.2. So how is it supposed to work in the Google Home eco-system?.Version: 5.3.3

Fixed Alexa Integration; eventuallyHi guys, Just like everyone else, my Alexa integration broke a few days ago. I’ve spent hours trying to fix it, & eventually found a solution. I’d tried all the standard things to no avail; Alexa integration disable/enable, reboot Hub, etc. This fixed it for me: Disable the Harmony Alexa skill first. 1. Install My Harmony desktop software for Windows on a laptop ( not desktop, it must have WiFi). 2. Login to your account. 3. Select your device. 4. Click Settings 5. Click Update Software. 6. Click “Having trouble? Recover your remote and hub. 7. Follow the process to the letter, firstly plugging your hub into the laptop using a micro USB cable, then your Harmony remote (the Elite will plug in to USB at its base). The software will also update the firmware if needed, & will reset the devices. 8. Uninstall the Harmony iOS app & re-install. 9. Setup the hub using the Harmony app. I had problems with my ubiquiti WiFi here & had to connect direct to the router. NB: Both phone & hub need to be on same WiFi. 10. Enable the Alexa skill, authorise & link. 11. The remote should resync when in its cradle. Best of luck!.Version: 5.7.13

Good Remote, Awful App!Like many others on here I too find the app a horrible mess which is a shame because the remote itself is not a bad bit of kit. Hopefully the developers are working on iPhone X compatibility and rewriting the app from the ground up at the same time. If they don’t have the development team capable of creating a fully working app with a decent, user friendly, intuitive interface then they shouldn’t be including it in the marketing spiel..Version: 5.3.3

Needs more supportI’ve had this for about 2 years. Lack of updates have been disappointing. The app has barely changed or made any improvements in that time. In fact I am having more disconnects and times where I need to restart the app than ever before. Disappointed. Better app support would fix these issues but it seems like they just want the initial cash from device purchase with no desire to improve the software. -Updated this to one star. If I could give it zero I would. I am floored by next to ZERO updates to functionality, just look at the version history - “bug fixes”. Logitech / Harmony, this truly makes me question buying any of your tech for the future. Will you support it? Add new features? Probably not, this thing has been mediocre at best with little likelihood for improvement..Version: 5.7.1

UselessHave a setup from a few months ago that currently controls the devices from then. Added a new device to the home and trying to set it up with the app. It connects to the harmony servers and checks for updates to my hub but then when downloading it never gets any further than 25%. Have left for 2 days in one instance, and have also tried numerous times leaving for an hour or so with the same result. Further to this, any attempts to add/edit any setting via the app locks me into this updating the hub cycle that never reaches beyond 25%. If this should continue will return the hub and remote to Logitech as utterly unfit for purpose because of this appalling app..Version: 5.6

TERRIBLE INTERFACE!The older versions are better. Why did you change it?! The new one looks so tacky!!!! Terrible! Extremely terrible!!!.Version: 4.0

Long lag recentlyHas become a lot less usable as it takes up to 10 seconds to respond. Especially frustrating when adjusting volume..Version: 5.7.13

Terrible app with potentially decent hardwareThis app is so bad on iPhone 11 and iPad... (how bad is it?) ... it is less frustration and time for me to plug in and use an older laptop with Windows 7 to make any changes than it is to *try* to use my up-to-date iphone or ipad. This is coming from someone with 15 years in tech support, sysadmin, sql admin, developer, and now devops release engineer. (A dhcp reserved ip definitely helps a lot of connection issues, but there’s no hope or help for the app itself.) After 6 months of trying to have the smart hub interact with the ps4 in various ways, I gave up and removed the ps4 from its list of devices... It took 4 hours of trial & errors to figure out how to get the app to stop changing the channel when it started the Watch TV activity (the device-specific remotes were fine). The width and angle when aiming of the IR signal from the hub is so narrow that its hard to find a place which isnt blocked by a person, chair, couch, or other object; I resorted to using a camera mount stand just to get the height and angle correct. I also ended up taping the IR blaster to the wall. Within a 12x19x8 ft room, the IR beam either isnt strong enough to bounce off the ceiling or the beam is too narrow, or both, to consistently reach the target devices..Version: 5.7.1

More like "illogitech disharmony"The functionality is consistently inconsistent. No matter what you are trying to do, whether setting it up or trying to use it afterwards, you will randomly and frequently fail to accomplish the task. Things will work perfectly sometimes while other times, for no apparent reason, the same thing that was just working a moment ago simply stops functioning. Even when it's behaving properly you will not be having a good experience. Everything is just so poorly designed and engineered, it's a nightmare. The app is ridiculously tedious to work with. Trying to set up and configure your remote is ten times as much work as it needs to be thanks to the incredible redundancy introduced by layout and design of the software. I wasn't kidding when I called then illogitech - Nothing about the interface makes any sense. Seems like absolutely no thought went into the creation of the layout, completely disregarding the notion that 'Human Beings' will actually be using this necessary piece of software to operate the $300 thing you just sold them. It's like trying to use a non-alphabetical dictionary and every word is on its own single page and each page takes 30 seconds to turn. ..wait actually it's even worse!.Version: 5.7.7

Great hardware, rubbish softwareUnfortunately, like all Logitech products, the hardware is great and the software is rubbish. The Harmony Hub app and the website/server system are no exception. Would be great if the developers tried to use their own products..Version: 5.7.7

Harmony remoteAs a Logitech programable customer since the early days I thought to return to a central remote solution. The hardware as always is excellent. However as usual Logitech’s software is never logical nor technical. The Wizard setup is oversimplified and the expected ability to tweak the app interface is lacking. As smartphones have conditioned us to usability the interface and options on both the web GUI and the app are unintuitive and limited. Use the hardware remote and save your time..Version: 5.4.2

Defect Fixes LolAnd there’s a lot of DEFECTS because this software, iOS and web and remote, ARE FULL OF THEM!!! Cannot COUNT the amount of times I’ve had to rebuild my hub FROM SCRATCH. DOZENS!!!.Version: 5.7.11

OkayThis isn’t the greatest app, but it’s not completely useless. Most of the time, I am able to get it to work, and then the app works just fine. All of the controls work, and it is nice to be able to change the volume using the volume buttons on my phone. The one issue I’ve experienced is that sometimes it won’t connect to the TV, and when it does this, it tries to make me login to this account. The whole app doesn’t do anything, and the only way to fix this is by deleting the app and re-downloading it. It usually works after that. Sometimes I have to ask family members to try it on their phones because it won’t work on mine. This app is an okay app and could use some improvements..Version: 5.7.5

This app is terriblePlease stop forcing your products to be so much worse than they are.Version: 5.4.4

Oh god, it’s sooo painful.Couldn't get past the setup. Everything was going well until it couldn’t recognise my Bose Sounddock. That’s OK I thought, I guess I’d work it out manually. Then it wouldn't recognise my Virgin media from the serial number. C’mon! Logitech claim to have recorded 225,000 products and it won’t recognise a common device probably found in tens of thousands of homes. Then it proceeded to take me through a manual set up of both. Fine, but the questions were completely unintuitive... and turned into a total farce. I was booted back to a setup page and now it won’t connect to the hub. My last Logitech Harmony was pleasantly easy to setup but this app is far from OK. Incredibly disappointed with Logitech..Version: 5.5

From love to hate...Prior to this most recent update, I loved the harmony app and the functionality it enabled within my smart home. I have a hub for my theater and one for the den. After updating to the latest version of the app, my Den hub is no longer discoverable in the iOS app. I was receiving a warning stating I must be on the same network (which I am), so I long-pressed to forget and now it can't be discovered. The remote and Alexa control still function for existing activities, which implies that it's connected to the network. I've tried every fix I could find online and it's still not discoverable. Reboot everything, delete app, ensure 2.4 connection, ensure SSID's are unique for 5.0 & 2.4, manual IP entry, etc. Also, when I click Add New Hub, it traps me in a redundant loop of watching the video. Icing on the cake: My Theater hub has the exact same configuration (aside from devices) as my undiscoverable Den hub, yet I can connect to and edit the Theater hub just fine...Please Help!!!.Version: 5.2.2

Please repair volume controlsCould you repair the volume controls please… When the app is open, using the volume buttons on the iPhone used to control volume on my receiver, but it no longer works.Version: 5.7.10

Very poor usability and buggyWas looking forward to replacing a few remote controls with the harmony hub but it is such a tedious and frustrating experience to set it up via this app that I am likely to return it. The UI/UX is clunky and hateful at best (pausing and spinners/wait at most steps during setup). The app keeps crashing when I try to set the input method for my TV to “input list with up and down keys” and I open the select box for “selects the highlighted input”. Since I cannot set the appropriate input method for my TV the harmony is effectively useless to me unless this gets fixed. The UX of this app needs a complete overhaul. I work in building application user interfaces and consider this app to be a great example of a genuinely atrocious UI and UX design and implementation. I had expected more from Logitech. 1/5 stars..Version: 5.7

Widget fails. Annoying refreshThe app and widget has to sync each time it's brought into the foreground. Widget now always says "Please Connect To Hub over Wifi" even though the app is fine..Version: 5.6.1

Needs workDevelopers should be forced to use their own programming output, then some of the functionality might get fixed. If you’re going to do an Activity programming session, it has to contact the Harmony Servers everytime (not quick), and re-check the Hub Firmware (even if it did that 1 minute ago), which makes hopping in and out of a programming session *extremely* frustrating. And don’t do your Activity programming on an iPad, because adding something as simple as a ‘Delay’ can cause the whole app to freeze & crash (consistently). And for this privilege I paid AUD$500 to get the Elite unit + extras. Poor form Logitech, lift your game and your developers skills..Version: 5.4.1

Good idea... terrible applicationBilled as the only remote you would need for everything around the house, but unfortunately can’t live up to the boast. If you only want to turn you TV on and off then you’ll get on fine. Anything smarter than that (ie setting up Netflix/Amazon Prime) through your smart TV and you’ll likely throw it in the bin and go back to your original remote!.Version: 5.7

Worst app I have ever experiencedThis app is just awful. If for some reason you delete all the devices on your hub, say because you want to set it up with a different TV, it gets into a mode where it stops responding. You then have to uninstall and reinstall the app, and then reset the hub, to get it working again. Operations frequently fail. Once they fail, retry never works and you will have to restart the app. The problem is exacerbated by the flakey Harmony hub, which frequently has WiFi connectivity issues. I just spent 2 hours (that’s right, 2 hours) fighting this app to set up my hub after I swapped out my streaming device. I ended up having to completely hard reset the device and set everything up fresh, including all the failures and flakiness. It took me four attempts. Then because I have two of these turkeys, I wanted to rename the hub so I could distinguish it from the other one in the software. You can’t do that from this app. You have to install the desktop app, change the name in there, and the. come back to this app to sync that change. Honestly, I don’t think I could make a worse user experience with an unlimited budget and unlimited time. It’s that bad..Version: 5.7.7

Update = BrokenVersion 5.7.14 may have broken my hub setup. When I try to set up my hub (that I’ve had for years with no issue) the loading icon continues forever without communicating an error. The red light on the hub stays red and I can’t access any of my account data through the app or on my PC. What the heck did this update achieve? Everything worked great for years and then suddenly - nothing. Red light of death. Not cool. Fix it..Version: 5.7.14

Makes things easy but...I’m disabled, this makes my life much easier, the only problem is, every time they update it stopped working properly. If they just fixed it and left it alone then that would be great. At the moment, it’s more trouble than it’s worth.Version: 5.3.2

Shockingly bad appUpdate 2: widget is completely broken Update: Trying to update one of the (fairly complex) activities I have configured and it has, several times now, decided to remove half of the steps just because I reordered or changed an existing step. If I hadn't spent so much on the remote I would have given up long ago. Original: I suppose investing in the app might risk cannibalising remote sales but the fact you have to use such a poorly thought-out, confusing app to configure such a premium product is embarrassing and frustrating..Version: 5.6.1

Harmony is horrible!I have owned three Generations of Harmony devices and currently own three of the hub devices.I am very technically savvy. Each time I have upgraded I have hoped that the new models will work better. However, the products continue to be horrible to to program. I have to say that this product is the most poorly designed, poorly supported, and buggy piece of electronics I have ever owned. I’ve literally spent hundreds of supremely frustrating hours programming and re-programming these devices. They get out of sink and stop working properly. I’ve had to reprogram them several times. I don’t know if it’s the latest version of iOS but my app can no longer connect to my hubs. It looks like I’m going to have to reset the hubs to factory and start all over again. The Mac OS version of the Harmony app does not work on the latest macOS. Do not buy this product..Version: 5.7.12

No longer works with my accountAfter almost 10 years the account associated with my hubs are no longer connected. No changes can be made through the app, it needs to be done through the PC application and synced manually. Looks like logitech is finding ways to finally end all support for their harmony products, just like how they killed their logitech alert systems and ended up with a class action lawsuit..Version: 5.7.13

Poor appThe remote works fine, but unfortunately the app is not great. It’s not too user friendly and some of the complication might come from the way the app uses its own design instead of using an iOS style experience. Buggy: one example - when programming in a long routine, the app often fails to remember the button commands, and when moving them up and down in the list, sometimes ignores the ordering you set. The Home Screen widget needs to be updated to the new style..Version: 5.7.7

Deeply frustratingThe app is a confusing mess. Options to configure an “activity” are spread around different menus in bizarre ways. Settings that affect control using the remote (Harmony Elite) vs control using the app are completely separate. Settings for the app from one phone don’t move to others, forcing a redo of customizations. And every activity starts showing a bizarre telephone numeric keypad that has to be swiped away to access useful controls (volume, etc.). It also crashes regularly, and often crashes the hub. My basic setup process has involved about 10 reboots so far. Suggestions for Harmony: please treat the phone app as a “remote”, and break configurations into Device/Activity/Remote. For when the app is used as a remote, please give us a set of bitmaps with configurable “buttons” (that can be mapped to commands, hidden, and optionally labeled); the current grid layout is atrociously ugly. And please make everything delectable (eg the telephone keypad is bizarre and the directions/ok aren’t editable). Finally, please make it possible to add additional devices into an activity and clone/copy an activity. I’m giving 2 stars since (after a LOT of fiddling) it’s barely functional..Version: 5.7.4

Seriously poor appErratic, poor UI, doesn’t integrate well with remote or base station..Version: 5.7.11

What an absolute shocker of an app.Terrible user interface, throws unexpected errors all over the place, and a real step back compared to the old desktop app (not that the app was an example of stellar user-centric software, but hindsight makes the heart grow fonder). No way to edit sequences when you swap out a TV, for example, and support is lacking for modern devices with constrained IR command sequences, meaning that it's seemingly impossible to set up macros to work around missing dedicated commands. So, disappointment and regret all round then..Version: 5.7.7

Shame about the crashes!I thought it would be great being able to program my Harmony Ultimate from my iPad instead of having to go to my computer. However, apart from the unwieldy app design, whenever I want to do something even remotely useful, the app crashes. Oh well, back to the laptop. (The remote itself is mega - just the app that stinks). (This is a later addition) The app is even worse than I previously thought! I wanted to change the channel number of one of my favourites. I can’t explain it, but nothing made sense! I just gave up and went back to the computer application..Version: 5.5.1

Worst software everIt’s unimaginable that software could be this consistently poor and buggy for a device that costs $399. I get a series of errors any time I try to update or change any devices or routines.Version: 5.7.7

Dreadful product, dreadful appWithout going into excessive detail, this really is a waste of your time and money, and will tax your patience to breaking point. PC based setup instructions simply don’t match what’s in the box, so forget the Logitech remote. No mention of button function either, and since the box doesn’t mention model name or number, you can forget online ‘help’. I set up the hub, but the software incorrectly flags the function of some devices, so of course you can’t control them. The app is hopeless. Baffling, counter intuitive and of course it doesn’t work. Logitech used to be good. Not any more. Truly, you’re better off with lots of remotes, which you got with the devices, so of course they work!.Version: 5.7.5

Worst app everWow this app doesn’t work at all. They released a new version recently and it’s still not working properly on iOS 11. Love the remote but the app version is deceiving.Version: 5.3

Complete garbageLord help you if you have to change the network settings. Ridiculously bad..Version: 5.7.14

IPhone volume buttons still not workingIn version 5.7.11 the use of the iPhone’s physical volume buttons is still broken. They will work temporarily when starting up the app, but navigating away from the app severs the connection and he only recourse is to restart the app..Version: 5.7.11

Save your moneyThis is an App sold on reputation of good Add on solutions - this App makes me more angry than any other App, PC or iOS add on App I have ever owned. It will fail, stall, cease to operate at will, it’s a ‘delete now’ and move on App. Shame to the developer for producing and delivering this piece of junk..Version: 5.4

Set up new devise using app failed. Simple won’t workSetting up using app is a pain just doesn’t work. Still have to use desktop software to set up everything then use the app later for daily use..Version: 5.7.13

Update Mac Desktop App to 64-Bit!I love my Harmony Elite remotes/hubs but I primarily use the Mac desktop app for programming them because it’s much easier and has features you simply cannot do in this app, such as custom learning new IR remote codes, custom activity icons, etc. I recently updated my Mac OS to Catalina (you know where this is going). Now my Harmony Mac app has a slash through its icon and will not run on the latest Mac OS version because it’s still a 32-bit app. Could someone there please flip the XCode compiler switch to 64-bit and at least try rebuilding your Mac desktop app as a 64-bit app? Please? If you encounter any issues transitioning from 32-bit to 64-bit, they’re probably minor and easy to fix. I really want my Harmony Mac desktop app back! Thank you!.Version: 5.7.2

Your 1st problem ... you got too many remotes and hubs and remote hubsMine didn’t harmonize .. I think it’s a solo act. (Bad-a-bump!) Ok so I’m pretty good with tech and figuring out little complex things like this but this was literally ridiculous. I got the harmony touch .... but then I saw somewhere it’s also called the harmony One..(. it’s just the remote with touch screen and no hub.) anywho, 1st problem...Buying it , 2nd problem was it doesn’t work with with the new Apple anything. When logging on and making an account I have the remote saying “put me on the cradle” I have the computer telling me I can’t download said app because it’s not 64bit and is directing me to some forum of people complaining. You can’t do anything with the dang remote until you download the apps and software, so although it’s mighty and has all this power ... I can’t even flip a switch or push a button to connect it to ANYTHING on its own. That’s absurd. Slim down your product line and focus on customer experiences. I had to load parallels on my mac because Even the iPhone app is locked down until the remote connects to a hub (flashes on phone ) that it doesn’t even come with..... bam 💥 too much frustration for a simple device with a few buttons. I’m going to the clapper 🙏👏👏.Version: 5.7

It's pretty badIt is incredibly slow and everytime you want to add an activity it does the whole sign in to Logi thing, so a good 5 minutes before you're even started. Would definitely buy a physical remote to use on a daily basis instead of this steaming pile..Version: 5.2.2

Useless - cannot edit commandsVery poor. No capability to edit command sequences. Try adding a step and it tacks it on the end. Can’t alter the order of commands. Basically have to delete the entire string of commands and re enter from scratch just to alter the order or add a delay. Make changes in the app and save and then check and its reverted back to the old commands. Really, save your money. Logitech have so restricted the software in the mistaken belief they know what i want to do i cannot get the command strings i want saved.Version: 5.4

Worked until I deleted a device, then won’t work at allI’ve used Harmony for years and the app has always been fine. Then today I deleted a device and the app has become unusable. I tried removing the app and reading and everything else I could think of. But now it starts up, shows no activities, and just my device icons. The buttons and menus won’t appear, or flash on for a second before disappearing again. I can’t add, edit or remove any devices or activities, the app’s menu won’t appear and the whole thing is effectively dead..Version: 5.4.4

Worst setup that does complete everI have companion remote that doesn’t have any cradle or screen but the app keeps me asking to place the remote on cradle and I have no other choice than quit app. WTH. How am o supposed to setup my remote?.Version: 5.7.7

Does Not Do What I ExpectedJust had the Elite version for Christmas and apparently since the latest update there has been big problems with the Alexa setup, I cannot get it to enable the skill at all, it recognises it but will not “save” also the fact that you appear to only be able to have 1 activity on at any one time it is ridiculous, everything else turning off because I want 3 other items on is strange!.Version: 5.5

Terrible Setup ProcessThe app works ok once it is setup but that setup process is horrible. Make sure you have the exact make and model number of every AV component you want to use before you start. Then set aside an hour or more because you probably won’t get it right immediately. Don’t even think of just adding one thing to test with because it don’t work that way. This setup was so stupid i avoided working on it for five months before I got tired of seeing the partially open box next to my TV. Then as I’m testing the tv power control, I accidentally activated some other components that caused my tv to stop working until I figured it out. The IR blaster turned on a different TV in another room of my house and partially activated an HDMI bridge between my two TVs. This would cause the signal to my main TV to drop after a few seconds. I only figured it out when I noticed the other TV was on. I was so frustrated with this I got into an argument with my wife and all she was trying to do was help me. Just be prepared for a stupidly long setup process..Version: 5.6

PasswordWhy dictate what someone’s password can be (minimum 10 characters) now locked out and can’t even reset. This is an expensive remote with an interface that is not intuitive. Frustrating!.Version: 5.7.7

Just incredibly convoluted and terribleThis app (and harmony remotes generally) never cease to amaze me with its awkwardness and bugginess. The really awful part is that it’s still the best unifying remote system I’ve tried out... and it’s absolutely TERRIBLE. You can be sure that a “bug fix” will cause at least 2 new ways for the iPad app to crash. They have effectively removed any other way to edit/adjust/update your hardware and settings, other than the app. The app will not work without checking and rechecking your firmware and “connection to server”, frequently crashing during that connection, shortly after, or just completely forgetting your hub and/or stored password. Current newest issue is that trying to re-order operations in an activity with drag and drop (the only way to do it) freezes the iPad and then crashes. Every single time. Not sure about my iPhone. That version of the app refuses to login to servers, and therefore you can’t control your local device. How could they possibly let you control your device without trying to store some personal information about you online, eh? Just, well, terrible..Version: 5.7.5

Unbelievably frustratingFor a company to have such a poorly designed app on the market is astonishing, unstable functionalities & poor connectivity, you will experience frustration like never before trying to set this up! Do not buy any products requires this app! If you do, you will be back here writing a single star review just like the hundreds of who already have..Version: 5.7.13

Logitech doesn’t care about its customersI have several home hubs and they all stoped working correctly or are inconsistent now. Logitech has done something on the backend and they are sabotaging the things that I have purchased not happy that you’re tinkering with things on the backend breaking the things that we paid money for to own. I can’t use my set up now because of this, you people should be ashamed of yourself for what you have done to your customers I will never buy another Logitech piece of equipment again for my personal usage or for any of the business and commercial ordering that I do..Version: 5.7.13

Worst software I’ve ever usedConfusing and bad UI? Check. Slow? You bet. Constantly syncing with servers instead of letting you use the app? Constantly. Crashes? All the time. Well done Logitech, you’ve managed to ruin a blinking infrared light. University students doing a computer science undergrad could do better over a weekend..Version: 5.7.12

JunkAll I can do is add a device. That's it the whole app. Junk, the app and the crap remote. What a scam 150 for nothing and the store won't return it. Edit: I ended up figuring out that you have to set up all the devices or you can't continue past that in the app. Seems silly. I had to delete all devices but one then set that up to get past. There is no leading you through or letting you know what is going on. Very bad User Experience. The other issue is once I got the hub set up the remote still wasn't set up and of course no direction. Back to scouring the web. Finally got a simple turn on tv set up and though it does it the app and the remote takes like 15 seconds. What is the point? You wait so long you end up picking up the old remote. Yes I know there is a setting for that but it doesn't go any faster. Like I said in the heading Junk, Junk, Junk!.Version: 5.7.5

10+ years Harmony customerBecause of the quality of the management software, I would use any other product if it existed. I hate setting up my Harmony config, and there are pointless arbitrary restrictions on device count, and everything is SO SLOW and talks to the cloud way too much, and breaks and goes down a lot, and can result in not being able to control your tv with your remote when there are connectivity issues, which is absurd. I work in product, and I think the way Logitech treats Harmony is unconscionable. I can’t believe they think it’s ok to put out broken junk and charge an arm and a leg. But yeah, it’s still pretty much the only game in town for controlling a bunch of things with a remote. Oh yeah, the light brightness controls don’t work. Worked for like a day. Can’t add my new HDMI switch. Can’t update my volume control preferences. Randomly stopped turning off my tv when I hit the power button a few days ago. No idea why. I have been a customer of Harmony products for over 10 years, and I really resent how my self and my time and my money have been treated by this company and this product team. Shame. Shame. Shame. Not cool..Version: 5.7.7

JSC1111iConnecting to the hub is like waiting to die... new set up process for a $550 remote is disgraceful. 3hrs and still no where on set up.Version: 5.7.5

Poor setup and bugsBought a second hand harmony ultimate and the attempted setup was a bit of a nightmare. Lots of setup errors etc. Finally got it all up and running but the setup of activities and adding steps has bugs. I’ll spend ages getting a whole activity setup and then I’ll lose half the steps I just added. Very frustrating. As an app developer myself my small company would never get away with this how had a company this big? If you need a better app give me a call..Version: 5.6.2

Not awesome. This app is generally ok. Up until you need to reset your modem due to the awesome NBN network dropping out. Then the app cant connect to the hub. The solution is to uninstall and reinstall the harmony app every time you turn off the modem. I also reckon the app would be better with customisation of what standard buttons do after the activity has started. Eg. we use a set top box to watch tv and the change channel button changes the channel on the tv rather than the set top box. I could be missing something there though..Version: 5.3.2

IOS iPad rubbish, iOS phone greatI iPad version of this app is plagued with failures. The widget hasn’t worked since installing it. The interface is difficult to navigate. Load time is incredibly slow. The iPhone version, no problems. Works wonderful and as it should. Widget is updated as I use it, controls such as volume work. Why have I written this review? Trying to provide feedback to Logitech on these errors - I believe storming the gates to the White House would be easier. The process to submit issues is incredible difficult on the iPad. It’s like they have tried to alienate themselves from their customers. Well, this is my experience of this app..Version: 5.7.7

Not good enough now Mac app deadCatalina has rendered the Mac app useless and Logitech say use this app instead. It simply isn’t good enough to do the job. Activities cannot be reordered (or rather they can but it does not sync) and we can’t add icons to favourites either. Last time my remote died setting up a new one using the desktop app was a simple sync. There is no option that I can see to do this via the iOS app. The Mac app was clunky but it did the job. This is clunky and it doesn’t. Frustrating as the kit is solid..Version: 5.7.4

Works okPlease add support for iPhone widgets to make it easy to control devices without always having to hunt down the app. Works great otherwise.Version: 5.7.7

It's ridiculously badThe UX Designers responsible for this app need to consider a career change. They're shockingly bad at their jobs. This is the most badly- designed app I've ever used. You can work your way through it and get things working but my-god it's an absolutely horrible process. And why can't we rename hubs? I've got 5 of them listed. They're named as follows: "Harmony Hub, Harmony Hub, Harmony Hub, Harmony Hub 2, Harmony Hub 2" I need to guess randomly until I find the one I need and they're never in the same order. Just painful..Version: 5.7

Not working with iOS 8Please fix.Version: 4.0

Latest UpdateWhatever you did on the latest update, you have caused my Harmony Hub to now increase or decrease the volume until I tap the opposite instruction to stop it. It was perfect, now it isn’t. Please put it back the way it was prior to this update..Version: 5.7.12

Don’t waste your money on the Harmony Hub!!!!Don’t do it, this kit and software could but good if it actually worked, I have set up commands to start netflix sometimes they work but most of the time it takes me to inputs page. 90% of the time my Alexa just says that it can’t connect to the harmony or is syncing with my harmony account and will be ready in 30 seconds, funnily enough those 30 seconds are more like days.... seriously regret giving logic a penny of my money for awful tech..Version: 5.7

What a joke.Tech people thinking they have made something that ordinary people will understand. The setup is a joke. Multiple times trying to register with multiple logins and in the end setting up multiple accounts on different devices to try and setup. Back for a refund. Don’t waste your money or time. What a joke. I never write reviews as I am 9 times out of ten able to setup and make things work. This not intuitive.Version: 5.7.1

Not bad, but needs workI really like the easy layout, but if you want to get detailed, you can’t do it in the app, you have to get the Mac version (which is terrible). Once set up it’s all good. Tell you what though, it’s crying out for an AppleWatch app!.Version: 5.3.3

Constant loopUnable to connect to my hub, using iOS 14..Version: 5.7.7

SketchyLoses connection a lot. Also gives me a "tip" that I can use my volume controls (which has never worked on my phone). I don't need to see the tip every time. It's just annoying..Version: 5.3.1

Very goodI bought the Smart Control hardware and set it up with the app on my PC and my iPhone. It was fairly easy to set up because all of my devices were known to the app. I didn't need to 'learn' any commands. However, I moved to the Harmony from the Red Eye hardware because the Red Eye IOS app is 32 bit and IOS 11 will no longer support 32 bit apps, and the company went TU, so updates will be forthcoming. I do miss a few things the Red Eye had however. The set up was via a web page, just like routers have been doing for ... forever. If Logitech was smart they would switch to a web page set up. It is far easier to maintain than multiple apps for multiple platforms. Also I miss the ability to connect to the hardware via IP address from a web browser and have the same control screen as on my iPad or iPhone. Red Eye also had a scripting language that allowed finer control of your devices. That was an awesome feature. In conclusion, Red Eye is a superior device and app and it's too bad it will no longer work under IOS 11. The Harmony is adequate..Version: 5.2.2

Dreadful app score: minus 5 - use desktop version insteadIPad Harmony app is just utterly utterly awful. Took over an hour of faffing about trying to simply connect to new wi-fi router - just impossible. Able to do on desktop without much issue. This is the most non-user friendly app I’ve ever used. Now got 2 versions of same user on app & have no idea which is right & if connecting to wrong one will undue all the painful work getting the unit to work in first place. Oh, & ‘long press to forget...’ etc? Does nothing! Worse than useless. Shockingly bad..Version: 5.7.7
