HarmonyWiz for Positive User Reviews

WowThis is a great app.! Lots of fun for an old school musician. Jordan is a musical marvel and tech guru! You will enjoy!.Version: 1.0.4

Stunningly brilliantSo here is a very clever app indeed that does exactly what it has been designed to do - effortlessly. This is so well thought out and easy to use but sounds superb. I soon created a composition and exported the MIDI file to Cubasis for further mastering. Stunning..Version: 1.0

Pretty nifty, but has problems. This app is pretty cool, it has the smoothest design of any of Wizdom Music's apps. I imagine it could be very confusing for people with limited musical experience, and the paint a melody feature doesn't always produce the nicest of tunes. But why are there so many in app purchases? The app is costly as it is, limiting the better sounds for the app is pretty insulting and really annoyed me when I first launched the app. When you compare the vast library of synths in previous apps with harmonywiz you will be greatly disappointed. Still, it's a neat app, and fun to play around in. But for gods sake, cut it with the in app purchases!.Version: 1.0.1

Wow!Such a great tool…I really like the ease to create ideas and to work with them later in a DAW. Ben Christa.Version: 1.0.2

This Is Awsome! One thing, there should be staff lines on the paint surface so that people with some music theory can see the note their putting brush down on..... But....🌟🌟🌟🌟.Version: 1.0.3

Pretty Freaking Cool So FarJust starting to dig into this. Could be an amazing way to compose and harmonize. Seems very well thought out and runs smoothly. Learning curve is acceptable. More to come....Version: 1.0

A great appThis is a great app for composing/arranging, but I have a problem buying extra instruments. I play harp and would like to hear how the music sounds on a harp. It would also be good if it could be available for Apple laptops/desktops as well as iPads..Version: 1.0

Absolute Wizardry!Ive only had this app a few days, haven't got into the nooks and crannies yet. Ive pumped in a few melodies and this has given me some amazing inspiration for alternate chordal structures and harmonies, so very useful for any composer looking to add some variety to their writing.Version: 1.0

Wonderful magic !What a great app. I created a small piece in minutes and it sounds amazing ! I had a query and customer support replied amazingly quickly. All in all if you want to have some fun harmonising this is wonderful..Version: 1.0

Brilliant!!Once more Jordan Rudess has given us an amazing new app to push us & challenge us & provide so much enjoyment while doing so. This might be his best yet!.Version: 1.0

AwesomeI'm an engineer rather than musician so knowledge on harmony is not one of my strong points and something I'm just learning about. This app really helps bring this together for me. A fun and educational app, well designed and intuitive for me at least. Here is a very happy customer. Just what I've been looking for..Version: 1.0

Nice Wiz'As an untrained person with extremely limited music reading skills; but, a lover of music and putting around with synthesizers and iPad instruments, I would say that I really like what this app is capable of even though it is a struggle to "feel" the relationship between the notes painted on the screen and the notes actually resulting from them. Here's what I feel is missing from the app: (1) positive feedback that as you draw, you also hear the notes being selected as you draw them. (2) four bars is simply way too limiting ... I can sneeze longer. (3) I repeatedly tried; but, on my iPad Gen 4 which is up to date with iOS updates, does not scroll to the right as you draw so you are forced to "zoom out" to see all four bars in order to get continuity across the screen. I take this as only round 1.1 in the app's life cycle though and look forward to its evolution. Did mine crash at any point? Not yet..Version: 1.0.2

Wiz BangI have to agree with some of the criticisms levelled so far, but I have to believe that these are early stages in the app and that updates will rectify the bumps. I have all of the other apps by these developers and they're my go-to music-making apps! especially Thumb and DrumJam which are superb. That went a long way to my decision to purchase this app. What I'd love to see is a way to seamlessly link all the instrumental power from ThumbJam do that I can create my own ensembles in Harmony Wiz. Good beginnings..Version: 1.0

Most useful app since ThumbJam or Cubasis.Got the app at 3:00pm. Better than I expected. Decided to use it to help with a soundtrack deadline for the next day. Composed with it after dinner. Imported midi into Ableton, with NI Kontact. Next day the Director proclaimed me a genius. Nuff said. I am however looking forward to the addition of more compositional styles!.Version: 1.0

Very very very nice. This app looks good and sounds good.I love it, and a big thank you to the developers, for ironing out the major bugs, this is a total joy to use and a great inspirational tool that I can recommend to anyone..Version: 1.0.3

Another MasterpieceOnce again, Jordan Rudess has created another fabulous app. Harmony Wiz is easy to use and the results are amazing. If you don't know how to play an instrument, or read music, no worries. Harmony Wiz does all the hard work, and makes you sound like the Maestro of the Universe. Thank you Mr. Rudess for for apps that inspire us to get creative..Version: 1.0.1

Outstanding! As a music major that understands theory, the options to add notes and change chords is a great feature. The paint option is also quite creative. For people saying that it doesn't make them an instant masterpiece, you should've known better. The way I use this app is to get ideas and edit them in Finale. It's like a rough draft and revised draft before you get to the final draft. It simply works as a foundation for any small composition I decide to make for my college music friends. Anyway, the updated version works better with notes and non-chord tones outside of the key. It'd be cool to have more time signatures and an option to only make a harmony for certain parts of the song at a time, rather than having to arrange the entire song again. Thank you Jordan Rudess and the awesome people of Wisdom Music for such an amazing app!.Version: 1.0.2

Another Fantastic Program from Jordan RudessThis is one amazing program from a great team. The technology is far ahead of most music apps. In addition their customer support is tops and is very responsive. They answered my question within minutes of my concern. It just does not get better than that..Version: 1.0

Very fun and great for ideasI love how easy this app is to use and I’m constantly inspired by the suggestions it makes!.Version: 1.1.3

The most important app to dateThank you Jordan !you have opened a door that will not only help new comers to music composition and theory but has been needed as a method of teaching music for way too long!Cheers! I am having a blast with this !peace Christo.Version: 1.0.4

AwesomeVery cool, awesome job as always!.Version: 1.0

AmazingI can’t believe that it’s only $10! The best composition app I’ve used on PC, macOS or iOS! Absolutely superb..Version: 1.1.3

One star short!Excellent and really useful app! A brilliant tool for starting a musical composition and hearing different harmonic variations and possibilities. Only one suggestion for the developer which is really nice and helpful, in due time will earn a missing star! Please please pretty please...give us an option to be able to export the figured bass analysis with the PDF score, even separately on a basic text email form? PDF export of the score is really useful BUT it would be awesome for a student composer using the app to able to get a print out with the harmonic analysis if working away from the device. Thank you!.Version: 1.0.4

Unique and totally inspirationalI was really amazed when I saw this demonstrated by Jordan via synthtopia site. I notice that someone has complained about the lack of sounds and of the default sound set: I totally disagree. I don't expect this app to be a general music workstation, it's designed to help you sketch your musical ideas and harmonise any leads you create. The default sound set is very nice - ranging from strings, flutes to pianos and guitars. You can expand it with synth and other sound-sets, but I like the default sounds a lot. The synth expansion set does have that Jordan dream theater-style though. This app is revolutionary and an amazing sketch pad. Once you use it to create your musical sketch, you would naturally want to switch to a general music workstation app such as korg gadget or any number of others to finish your song. This app will be the starting point for any music I create, and is thus indispensable..Version: 1.0

Quickly score a few measures1. At the top left, click on the score icon ... next to the brush-with-a-star icon ... this turns on the note writing feature. 2. Go to preferences ... the usual icon ... and turn on "expert" mode. 3. On the right side of the screen, the hand is selected ... this moves the page around ... click on the pen tool: the note icons below it will light up. 4. Now you can select a note type and touch the screen to place one on the score. 5. Make a few bars of melody and click the HW arranger. Don't worry about precise notation, the arranger will clean it up. Play it. Press the star button to the right of HW and "clear arrangement". Refine and repeat. Violins and cellos are a bit silly in these times ... a guitar, synth and bass combo would be welcome - and some of the expert buttons crash the app. Otherwise, it's an interesting little gadget..Version: 1.0.4

Good Opportunity For Apple Pencil SupportFun app even for semi-pro and pro musicians. The more editing post art, the better!.Version: 1.1

My new favourite appThis app is simply amazing. I'm a recording artist and this app allows me to find melodies in a semi random way. Lots of ways to tweak it to get it just right. The vast majority of my future melodies will likely come from this app. That said, some of the instrument samples could be improved but it still deserves 5 stars.Version: 1.0.3

Great support, app is excellentThis app is absolutely awesome the harmonies are spot on. This should be in everyone's music writing toolkit love it.Version: 1.1

A stage for sonic immaginationAlways on the lookout for new apps to feed my iPad music dabbling habit, I chanced upon this absolute gem. The age that Pink Floyd spoke about, where anyone with a sonic imagination would have the tools to make music, is here! Only just started to dabble with this app, but was so impressed with what it could do that I bought all the add-on packs. Keep up the great work, Mr R and Co. Nic.Version: 1.0
