✓ Great iOS CCTVI’ve been looking for an app that can turn my iOS devices into home monitoring cameras. I’ve used many apps of similar nature, by far this one has the clearest and simplest interface and is the most stable..Version: 2.3.2
✓ Works well with older phonesI use this app with a couple of 4s’s on iOS 9. The phones have been running 24/7 for over 1 year now without issues. I like that you can view live stream from the app and the web. Overall, a great idea to be able to repurpose older phones. ✓ Super Cheap Security AppWell you can't argue with free. Actually I pay the next tier up to have two cameras and 2 days of storage. It's excellent. People might quibble about having to pay but for £48 per year for two cameras and the ability to download any relevant clips for permanent storage is possibly the cheapest security solution I have ever come across. The alerts are responsive enough that you can open your phone for a live stream and will see what's happening. The quality is only limited by the capabilities of the camera and the bandwidth of your broadband. I sometimes find that my iOS devices drops the network when Apple sends it an update but the app keeps recording away and uploads all the footage once it's connected back to the network. The system alerts you to the fact the camera is no longer online so I know when to investigate. I can now see who comes to the front and back doors as well as what's happening in key areas of the house. Overall a super cheap and easy way to get CCTV into your property AND it stops you dumping old devices into Landfill or recycling..Version: 5.0.0

✓ Keeps getting better.It was a wee bit of work optimizing my two old iPhones for power consumption, but their instructions were easy to follow. Once I got it set up right it has been a better security camera system than my old laptop/usb cam setup. Over two months without interruption so far and an iPhone can survive longer power outages than a laptop. The "live" is about 30 seconds delayed in my case. Not as quick as Jumi but it does the trick. I see the new version shows the battery level and that the charger is on. Maybe the next version will push a notification for power outages and/or low battery? Thumbs up on their customer support..Version: 4.0.1
✓ So far so goodMy rental company has been doing a ton of maintenance and workers are coming and going fairly regularly so I wanted some sort of surveillance while at work. I love that continuous mode allows live streaming and that the video quality can be raised or lowered, and that more than one device can be used at once (although you must pay a higher price for additional cameras). Motion detection recording appears to have good response time, however I don’t know yet if there are any limitations..Version: 5.7.1

✓ Soooo easy to set up!Firstly, l need to confess to being horrific with technology! This was super easy to set up! Even for me! I've only had it one day and the only thing I think it needs is night vision, oh and unless I'm doing something wrong...the ability to talk back to the person (or animal) that you are recording. I recorded my dog jumping up at the counter top and wanted to tell her to 'get down!'.... But haven't found this as an option? I'm worried about the end of the 'free period' as I think it's fab as it is and hope I get the same-ish standard of service. ✓ Simple and worksHave tried many of these security video apps and most crash frequently or just don't work. Motion detect works well and you can set movement sensitivity. You can also set video quality. Running on iPhone4 and a Galaxy Tab as cameras and an iPhone6+ as viewer and performance and quality so far pretty darn good, highly recommended..Version: 4.3.2

✓ Simple and superbI read about this app online and it sounded too good to be true, but it wasn't it is simple and effective. I use it to keep an eye on my rescue Labrador as he settles into his new home. The configurable nature means you have complete control as to how often and at what level you set things to. The events page is a master stroke. ✓ Great free appThe idea of using old devices as cameras to monitor your home is great. The app is free with four hours cloud recording and just a few pounds for up to 30days recording, making it much cheaper than its competitors! There is a delay when watching the stream from another phone of about 40seconds. The app is great the only thing that I would like to see is motion detected recording purely due to the reason of bandwidth and then it would be perfect!.Version: 3.4.2
✓ Best iPhone security app.Brilliant. Easy to set up, easier to use. One small thing needs to be added and that is time stamp on the recorded video, but apart from that it's faultless. If you can connect by wifi then do it, I have mine set up in a car in the drive, so have a SIM card with unlimited data so it's not an issue. Future updates, focus lock required, also the option to turn on the light for a preset time would be useful..Version: 4.7.1
✓ [Updated] No longer working on iPhone 3GS[Update] When I last tried Manything on my 3GS in November, it would not work, however it appears to be working fine now, not sure what changed. The app has worked well in the past and because of the developers quick response I changed my review to 5 stars. Original review: I have two iPhone 3GSs that I used as cameras for awhile, but it seems that something has broken it on them. They will still send alerts when they detect motion, but I cannot view live video from them anymore. The app can't be updated on iOS 6 anymore, so it's not like an update broke it, it must be a problem on their end. ✓ Used during California forest fireThis app has been a life saver! I set up an old iPhone 6+ in my back yard during a very scary time as a forest fire was closing in on my neighborhood. I was able to watch from a safe distance with my family and able to give the whole neighborhood updates through the next few days. For something as simple and free to use it's given me real piece of mind. ✓ Manything was really useful to monitor my pet bird while I was on travelI'm back from my trip to the U.S. Even though I'm back, ManyThing worked so well keeping an eye on Monta, my java sparrow, and even letting me talk to him (!) that I will keep the subscription going. When I'm out I can still check on him, and my partner can check on him from work. Plus I've been able to download a lot of cute clips to upload for FaceBook. The 2nd day I was gone it stopped working for some reason, but my partner was able to get it working again. Other than that one incident, it's been working flawlessly since April 1. ✓ Great for what I need, but not perfectI got this app so that I can keep an eye on my 3D printer to make sure the print is coming out well. The remote flashlight function is great so that I don’t have to keep a light on all the time, and the clarity is good enough so that I know what’s going on. My main complaint (which is pretty minor) is that the recording disconnects every few minutes, even on the continuous recording mode (both when connected and not connected) which means if I want to download a video longer than just a few minutes (like for a time lapse) then I’d have to figure out how to combine multiple clips. I was hoping that paying for a subscription would improve the quality, but I just have to do any time lapses separate from the app. Again, not a big deal, this app is great for what I was looking for.Version: 8.0.2

✓ The best app I’ve ever foundI’ve never been compelled to write a review for any app previously. But Manything is so utterly amazing that I am going to do so! The functionality of this unbelievably brilliant app, even on the basic free version, is just fantastic. Making use of an old iPhone that was just in a drawer doing nothing, we can now monitor our pets when we are out and about! We can even use the ‘talk’ function to chat to them when we are not there! The motion sensor which sends alerts is great and it gives such great piece of mind to be able to see the Pets happily plodding around the kitchen when we aren’t there. I am telling anyone who will listen about this app and when I show it to them they cannot believe how brilliant it is. Fortunately, I can still open the app and see if there have been any events recorded. Seems to be working OK, just haven’t been getting any alerts. I have been using Manything for over a year. Customer service is very attentive. I started using the app after getting threats on my life. This app made it possible for me to sleep at night. Although the app is less expensive then a home security system, it is a lot more expensive than most other app camera security systems. ✓ Awesome app so far!I’ve only been using the app for 5 days but so far it’s been great. I needed a way to keep an eye on my foster dogs while I’m out of the house and I needed an app that would work on the old iOS on my iPad 2. This app is perfect for my needs. Video is clear and it does a great job at picking up sound and motion events. No issues running it on an old slow device. ✓ Really great app!I have used this app for a couple of months now and I just had to write a review, it is very much deserved. I wanted to monitor any activity on our property and purchased and trialed Flir FX, it was $ 270 + and it was hit and miss whether or not it picked up activity. I purchased RING and it only had a range of 30 feet and I needed aprox. 100 feet. Along came the free Manything app that I came across online when I was looking for more camera options. Thought it was worth a try since the creators are smart enough to give you a free 1 week trial. It was awesome! It caught everything that I was aware of and everything that I was not. It doesn't have the 100 feet range all the time but when the object (vehicle) came close enough to the house at about 75 feet, it started recording! The cost per month is less than pennies per day compared to the other 2 that I tried out. And the ability to set the sensitivity yourself to pickup small to large movements - perfect! I don't need to see the squirrel every time he runs across the lawn but I want to see the truck come down my driveway! And, my unused iPod works better than the 2 pricey devices, what could be better? Oh yes, add to all that the prompt helpful customer service, this more than deserves my 5 star rating. ✓ Great app. Could be improvedI really like this app, its very easy to use and the functionality on the free version is sufficient to enable you to get a good app for nothing. I may even go down the subscription path - but I have one issue (in my early days of testing) and that is that the motion and audio notifications are too sensitive even on the least sensitive settings. I'm using mine to monitor my garage and unfortunately I'm getting a lot of false alarms. Probably mice or something but definitely not thieves. ✓ Stolen DevicesI have been using Manything for quite awhile to monitor my driveway for arriving guests and to make use of old iPhone. I was recently robbed and Manything video captured the car used by the thieves. To retain the video, I was able to upgrade easily where my Apple iTunes account will be charged. In moment of crisis, I didn’t even have to get up to get a credit card. I was able to easily email video to sheriff when he requested it. A few days later I had some login problems which were user error (password protected password list was on stolen computer). ✓ Unbelievably great - revolutionaryThis is going to be the greatest app on the App Store. I read about this and have just trialled it using my iPad. The idea is great and the execution fabulous. I got notified when my cat walked past the camera of the iPad on my phone. Home security in HD. If someone broke into your home even if they stole your iPad which is working as your CCTV the crooks wouldn't be able to stop the video going to iCloud and you'd be alerted on your phone to movement into your house. It even has motion zones on the camera, so you don't get alerts for things that don't matter. If only the monthly service was lower. I would definitely use it. ✓ Great App!I’ve been using Manything for the last 4.5 years to watch my cat when I’m away but also my apartment incase my landlord does some shady business. It’s really cheap to subscribe to when you need it and cancel when you don’t. I love that you can change the settings on the viewer phone for the camera phone and how you can select either full video or just a frame every couple seconds to save data. You can also set it to start recording on movement which then send a notification to you. It’s worked wonders for me and helps ease my stress of leaving my cat alone for a bit. I use my old iPhone as the camera and just leave it plugged in. It’s way cheaper than a actual security setup. I’ve had a couple issues with not being able to download or share videos through the app but Manything support was great and helped me work out the issue. Great customer service! ✓ Transition to landscapeIt’s a great app, very useful. Alerts are nice. Only one complaint I have is, when switching from portrait (upright) to landscape (horizontal) the video you are watching will stop and go to the beginning and then you’ll need to press play again, but it starts at the beginning of the clip. ✓ Clever and better than mostI’ve been looking for a surveillance app that can be used to repurpose old phones. I’m very impressed with Manything. The connection to WiFi is stable. It is the only app of this type that has a sound trigger and the motion trigger is very nice to use with easy deselection of any parts of the scene to reduce false triggers. We’re using it as a wildlife cam, having put an unused iPhone 6s in a waterproof case. Resolution is acceptable but I would like to be able to get higher resolution. ✓ Puppy Training made SO much easierWe’ve been using this app to help train our puppy when we leave the house. It’s so much more effective to be able to correct bad behavior when it happens instead of when we get home some 5 hours later. The ability with this app to talk to wherever your camera is set up is invaluable. When our puppy starts to tug at the roll of toilet paper, we see it and immediately tell her no. ✓ Exactly what I needed!I have a very sick senior cat that I’ve been stressing about leaving alone recently. I wanted to be able to check in and make sure she’s okay when I’m not home. This was so easy to just download and instantly use. I watched her for hours today, and when she started crying I spoke to her through the app and she calmed down. I’m very thankful for this app and will definitely pay for the upgrade because I want to support the makers. I don’t need the extra features but I’m super grateful. ✓ Simple surveillance design by PROsI have used this app for 2 weeks now and I must say it took me 5 minutes to setup without reading any instructions. Footage review is also easy, the timeline has a visual representation of motion detected throughout the recording which enable users to visually summarise the number of motion detected on the recording. Many corporate surveillance software that I have dealt with doesn't have this feature. Ou can only click to skip to the next incident. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up and nothing less..Version: 3.1.1

You can tweak settings remotely. Unbelievable app for the cost of nothing. Get yourself on eBay and buy an old 3GS for around £30 if you don't already have an old iOS device. Worth every penny that way." New update has MASSIVE improvements. Now can directly download events from device. Playback events wit a time slider. Not to mention battery status and power status. The delay is near not existent. This was near real time on a PC but this is now delivered to my iPhone. My most used app as I watch for parking availability on my street. ✓ An excellent app with incredible support (UPDATED)Have used this app a fair bit recently and it does a great job, it has features that are lacking in many more expensive dedicated camera systems - noise detection and the ability to select areas for movement detection for example. I had a couple of problems with one of the “old” devices I was using as a camera after Apple released iOS 11.3 but the technical support has been excellent working to resolve the problem. ✓ GreatI have been using this for close to a year on two iPhones (5c & 5s) I have the 5c disguised outside on a covered porch and the 5s is inside. I have been very impressed with everything. The app is stable. I have only had to reboot the phones maybe 3 times each. I have not had any issues checking footage from another app or PC. I have contacted customer service once or twice and they were responsive and helpful. For the money the 2-cam, 2-day subscription is worth every penny. More days are saved and available online if needed which is a little added peace of mind. Alerts work well, though I've turned them off. Motion detection is consistent, I have or pointed towards the street and it captures every car in the exact same spot each time. Plays well with IFTTT so you can do custom things like "turn of the inside camera when I get home", "turn in the smart porch light when motion is detected", "turn on all cameras when I leave home", etc.. All in all 7/7 would buy again, is a good use of old phones. Requires some thought and setup to get the phones mounted and charging where you might want them..Version: 5.5.1

Well worth the monthly fee to store one weeks worth of data in case you need video evidence. Why pay a security company $50/month when you can do it yourself for ~$5 month ? ✓ Great app, needs a little work.I'll start with the positives. Great app for one, nice ui, well designed. The simplicity and ease of use is very good, you'll be quickly set up in about five minutes. Now for the negatives. I wish the "viewer" could be full screen for one. It would be nice to offer some free iCloud storage. I understand there needs to be money made but the price points are a little steep. In conclusion, great app, download it and you'll be happy.
