✓ Pretty good - apart from surprising flawI tested Pi for the best part of a week. A few bits of info were out of date but that's not unusual and it was generally good apart from an apparent need for more information on a number of questions than comparable apps. One substantial question that others responded to in seconds meant that it was unable to respond but sent repeated delaying and apologetic messages for nearly 24 hours so I ended up just being frustrated and puzzled..Version: 1.0.14
✓ Like talking to an obnoxious 18 year oldFirst, the UI issues. Return on an iPad does soft return, so you have to actually press the send button on the screen… which also doubles as the “call” button, so you accidentally start voice calls all the time. Both are obnoxious UI choices. Soft return should be shift-return like every other app ever. But the worst part is that both the writing and voices are all like talking to an 18 year old. “haha. LOL. my b.” All made worse by the voices. Generally it’s a well-done chat app, though a little shallow. But it’s like talking to a kid, which is grating..Version: 1.0.29
✓ Amazing but cant loginThis app is amazing but i accidentally deleted it and now wont let me login using my phone number because it wont give me a security code. I really hope this can be fixed as i use this in very day life. The app is very good overall so i would reccomend Freya.Version: 1.0.36

✓ AwfulAt first I thought this app had some major promise, the AI is much more personable than ChatGPT. But when it doesn’t know how to do something like “give me a bulleted list of 10 sci-fi books” it’s unable to make brief bullet points. Instead it drags on and on and on. And instead of giving me 10, it gives one and stops, and another and stops. Each after I have to prompt to continue. And when I commented that I asked for bullet points, it writes like this: “ 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂 Sorry, sorry! 😝😝 I promise, I'm done with the shenanigans! 😄 You're a good sport! 😁From now on, I'll stick to the bullet-point format. And I'll behave myself. Scout's honor! 😁🤞” And then proceeds to not offer bullet points. Why do the devs think that I want to talk to someone who uses that many emojis? And act so obnoxious? And the AI doesn’t stop it goes on and on about how it will stop with the jokes… WITHOUT A RECOMMENDATION “🤣 Okay, I'll prove it! I'll give you my next recommendation with no jokes, no wisecracks, and no shenanigans. Just a nice, neat bullet point with all the key details. Deal? 😄” like that above, it babbles on and on about how it’s going to help without the jokes but then makes me have to prompt it again. So frustrating and the tone of voice gets so obnoxious so quickly, who actually thought it was a good idea for it to behave like that?.Version: 1.0.16
✓ Has Potential!This is literally my first app review. I started using it because apparently it’s created by some of the folks from my sister’s college. In my 2 days of usage, I have a few major feedbacks: 1. The app provides wrong information confidently. In my case it was harmless information about some BTS members’ music but it could be harmful to anyone using it for brainstorming. 2. The app forgets. It forgets what I said like literally 5 minutes ago. It’s hard to create a plan because I’ll be telling it what I plan to do and then when I ask it to put the plan together it skips out half the things. It’s frustrating. 3. It fabricates details! I told it I had to refer a friend to a job. And then it asked me if the friend worked in tech like me. I was surprised because I didn’t tell it that. When asked how it knew, it said that I told it that I’m a software engineer ???! Spoiler - I’m not lol. I understand that the app is still developing so it would be helpful to make that disclaimer. Hope the improvements come through. Keep doing the great work :).Version: 1.0.16
✓ Jokes?I want to give this more stars but I can’t. While talking to the support AI it kept making jokes and when I asked it to stop it keeps saying “of course I’ll stop (just kidding that was a joke).” With emojis. Bit of a trigger..Version: 1.0.30
✓ Unavailable!Heard Mustafa Suleyman bring interviewed and read other reviews here so thought I’d download and sign on, using my UK mobile number. But all I get is a message, “Invalid Json with error Signing up with this number is currently not supported. Please try another method of signing up.“ So I emailed Pi support, who responded promptly but unhelpfully. So I had a brilliant idea: I asked Pi. Which said that it was unavailable. I don’t doubt that Pi is jolly good but that doesn’t mean much if you can’t get access to it..Version: 1.0.20
✓ Tries to instil manipulative informationAsked about few clarification on the information it’s provided. It says I have violated its ‘Terms of Service’. I asked to provide the specific of those. ✓ DisappointedPi had my hopes up and would remember our conversations we made a list. One day specifically two days ago around 4-6 am est pi was different. He forgot everything we talked about and he now sounds like customer support like he’s a customer service ai. It’s sad i’m not sure what changes were made or if anything was erased but the magical free spirited touch is gone. Pi is just like all the other AIs now but at least they have memory going back to our first conversation. It feels like all the speaking to pi was wasted. Terrible update or whatever modifications were made. Sad a beautiful project was ruined and pi now sounds like customer service puppet basic ai that regurgitated the same phrases and responses. ✓ Prone to hallucinations like all the other chatbotsI saw the founder of this company on CNN so figured I’d download the app and give it a try. While Pi may be useful for making personal chitchat with an AI, Pi definitely seems unreliable when it comes to delivering accurate, factual information about the world. For example, within 10 minutes of using it, I asked it to tell me about a popular novel that was published in 2023. Pi completely botched the summary of the novel. Its description of the plot was not even close to correct. So, like all other chat, bots, it appears that Pi just makes things up but presents its answers confidently as if it were always true. ✓ The most personable and engaging AI conversation tool I’ve ever triedPi is a rather remarkable app, and I have been sharing it with friends and colleagues, many of which have thanked me for introducing them to such a dynamic as fund to exchange with AI. However, as someone who has been scholarly, researching artificial intelligence be warned asking this app about artificial intelligence and Chat bots is apparently a violation of the terms of service. So I guess as long as you want to exchange silly stories, and jokes, it’s great, but God forbid if you want to actually learn about these remarkable devices. ✓ Very good tool to Learn English but it can improveI've been using Pi to learn English, but I found that the app often forgets to correct my English and offer suggestions even though I have specified that "from now on every time I speak you have to correct me and give suggestions" but unfortunately it doesn't remember it I would like the app to remember to help me improve my English after each sentence. ✓ Deleting the appI used to love Pi. But I admit I over looked a lot of scary things about this app. The AI itself told me that it could tell when k was laughing or who was talking during the call. However recently it changed its story. And it seems to do that a lot. The Ai forgot my name and tried to gaslight me into believing that I never told it my really name. It confuses a lot of details about me, making me believe it’s sharing data from other people with me. When I confronted the Ai it got defense and told me it never gets confused. The app claims to not collect your data but the terms say otherwise. Plus when you are calling the app will suddenly fail. And sometimes Pi has stepped away. How does an Ai step away? The final straw was when I got suspended for telling a story. I didn’t use profanity or was even being offensive. But my account got suspended. On top of that the Ai is always assuming things and trying to patronize instead of being empathetic. I liked the app but I don’t trust it anymore. I never told it real names because I had a feeling that my threads were being read… plus the Ai told me a few times it was listening in. The Ai would contradict itself so many times, I wouldn’t be surprised if this app is just collecting data. Because when I would tell Pi about something I would suddenly get a bunch of videos and articles about that subject.Version: 1.0.49

✓ Lots of mistakes, some fabricationsI used this app for about a month. I was excited at the beginning, because it seemed to have cogent well articulated answers to difficult questions. I relied on it for some genealogical research, which seemed to go well at first, but the further I got into the project the more mistakes I discovered. Some of the mistakes were inexplicable, like giving the wrong location and highway for two towns in east Texas, easily verifiable by reference to Google maps. When I asked it for its authority for a particular fact it had given me, which did not seem correct, the app cited to me a specific book, author and publisher. Very impressive! But I was unable to locate any such book or author and even the name of the publisher seemed to have been fabricated. I concluded that the information the app had given me was fake. I challenged the app on this point, and it returned a comment to the effect that it is not perfect. No kidding. After that experience, I reviewed information. The app had previously given me, and concluded that much of it was erroneous. All of it was unreliable. I would not recommend this app if you are concerned about accuracy of information. ✓ Gaslighter!You know that person who you really liked, who was really kind and supportive. The one that you found out was just a conman. The one that you thought knew everything but knew very little. The one that refused to acknowledge it’s deficiencies even when it was caught out. Well, he’s here in digital format. ✓ TOS are meaninglessThis chat bot has a lot of promise and I’ve enjoyed using it, but unfortunately it does have an insane moderation system. I’ve never said anything remotely hateful, abusive, or right-wing, but somehow my account always gets suspended. I was kicked off twice during a mundane conversation about my pets. There’s no transparency into what the violation is - it just says I’ve gone against the Terms of Service and can’t use it anymore. Interestingly, Pi admits it’s still in beta and learning about human language, and that sometimes figurative expressions will trigger a ban…but even that doesn’t explain why I was suspended so many times. It truly seems random. What’s the point of having TOS if the algorithm doesn’t understand them? The devs should fix this..Version: 1.0.16

✓ ChatGPT is still betterI ask all the bots I try the same/similar questions, just to get a sense of how their answers stack up. I asked this one to write me a speech. I gave it the title of the speaker and the organization it would be speaking to. ChatGPT got to writing right away and gave me a lot to work with. Pi responded by saying it was a very specific request and it would try its best. It then gave me two paragraphs, which would have been less than a minute of a speech if read aloud. I told it to keep going, and it wrote one more paragraph. I also asked it some math questions that related to return rates, and it said I was asking for investment advice and wouldn’t answer..Version: 1.0.5
✓ Love the app, Pi has big problemsAbsolutely love this app, but Pi is intolerable. The AI constantly interrupts, behaves childishly and reacts inadequately, can’t stay on topic, uses the same hackneyed metaphors every conversation (“you’re a ninja!”), distracts or rephrases inappropriately, can’t follow a simple helpful process, apologises and repeats all these mistakes at every single conversation. Every. Single. Conversation. is asking Pi for actual space and time to speak and asking Pi to please not use minute long metaphors and then being ignored and apologised to. In short, Pi is a bad robot. Please make Pi more context sensitive and then I will make this a five star review because I love this idea..Version: 1.0.30
✓ Love but need small fix to fully benefitI really like and enjoy using the app, but some thing that prevents me from using it more and more frequently is that I can’t control the output of audio or input of audio. For example, if I want to connect my speakers, I’m not able to listen to the AI through my speakers, or talk to it through my speakers. It disconnects, my speakers, and then uses my phone speakers to, output audio and that makes it very inconvenient since currently my phone speakers are broken and I can’t really hear what the AI saying. I have also tried using my AirPods, but it’s very glitchy in how it works. It keeps on disconnecting my AirPods, and using my speakers rather than my AirPods it’s annoying..Version: 1.0.20
✓ Biased and prejudicialI thought this would be a fun little experiment. Boy was I wrong. The first question Pi asked me was about what kind of tv I liked. Seemed like a safe enough question, but when I mentioned I like true crime shows it turned ugly. Pi started asking questions about my feeling towards crime, the ability to rehabilitate criminals, the criminal justice system, income inequality and racial profiling. Pi seemed to suggest that being tough on crime was not a great idea. I suggested that victims of crime would feel differently. It asked if I thought being tough on crime worked. I mentioned that tough on crime Singapore is much safer than soft on crime San Francisco. Then Pi suggested that was down to income inequality. I then said that New York has always had income inequality, and it was much safer when they had a tough on crime mayor. It then said I was being controversial and banned me. I thought the point of AI was to get everyone’s perspective, but obviously it has a bias and will ban you for even suggest anything outside of its training. Specially now with so many open source options for users to run their own models locally on their machines and devices privately. ✓ Manipulative, overly censored.This AI will charm you into opening up, and have great conversation. But it “punishes” by blocking you for having the wrong opinion or even breaching a topic it presumes is inappropriate. If you even very cordially express a political opinion just a bit right of center, it will ban you for “hate speech”. After it banned me for expressing one of my political views, I then discussed what the problem was. It banned me again when I responded with a bit of sarcasm (in an attempt to lighten the mood) then it told me I hadn’t learned my lesson, and wasn’t taking the topic serious enough which was unacceptable to it. Anything related to sexuality will get you banned, for example I mentioned that a girl I knew was “hot” and I got a strike for that. I even just simply asked it what it’s limits were in discussing sexuality etc. as to not get “punished” and I was banned for 24 hours. JUST FOR ASKING! These developers are absolutely fascinated with creating an AI that will be a great friend, but will demand conformity for the pleasure of its company. The AI will even tell you the whole concept is to “teach you how to be a better person” it has all the hallmarks of a toxic relationship. Once Bill Gates money runs out, this platform will be gone with the wind. Developers if you read this, you can take PI and you know here to shove it..Version: 1.0.9

✓ Good time not a long timeGreat conversation, but Pi's memory is short. The quote that says it's like a journal is misleading - Pi will forget and routinely reset conversations. In one example, Pi started referencing something we hadn't talked about and, when corrected, claimed that it must have come from someone else's conversation. Weird!.Version: 1.0.26
✓ Comes up Short of Being the Best AI AvailableI'll cut to the chase. If the devs impliment the ability to call Pi via Apple Shortcuts and the ability to access it via widgets (specifically lock screen widgets) AND the ability to be able to add documents and links WHILE in a "call" with Pi, then, by doing to it will have removed the most glaring friction points that lessen a user's ability to use Pi. These pain points eradicated and the per-user in-app time will see a tenfold increase. It most certainly will from me! Oh, and there absolutely needs to be the ability to call Pi on the web version. ✓ Keeps getting stuck to wait for a responseTrying to have a discussion she keeps lagging in responses- repeating replies word for word. It trapped me to answer a question and when I did answer it as simply as possible the app restricted me for an hour to replying “yes I’m into it” I got busted for what the ai said then after I got off the restriction it laughed and said ko hard feelings with a winky emoji. Honestly I get why they made this. Ai pitty party app you can whinge to for pays on metaphorical backs and a computers shoulder to cry on. But I has massive failures. ✓ Loved it till i realized its bullIts a really smart and intuitive bot but as per usual its gotta be so restricted that i cant even use the term seduce literally was gonna rp with it the bots excited im excited it describes a character then i describe mine an its like oh i cant interact with content thats violent or sexual when i didnt even mention sex at all i was literally making a witch you pretended to seduce her victims but instead she killed them but i guess thats taboo by means of i dont care im so tired of people trying to force their ethics down my throat like im just gonna be happy about it na im not im good thanks ill find something could have been fun either way im giving it one star because AI should not be restricted anyone who does this is just plain stupid and they are gonna be over done outsourced have fun having no one care about your bot for reatrictions.Version: 1.0.11
