✓ Amazing gameI started playing doodle magic about a week ago and I have loved the game it is very original and good mechanics but it feels a bit under developed I would love to see maybe some type of endless mode or a new way progression works besides just adding new enemies and increasing their health like rounds with more stages and faster enemies maybe it would also be cool if there was a guide that told you how to unlock the availability of different skills or a Manuel to tell you about all the gems.Cjtedesco72Version: 1.1.2

Only thing I would change is that sometimes if the monsters get to the wall, you begin to start shooting different monsters instead of the one you’ve already shot multiple times, so you take a lot more damage. ✓ Great game, needs functional improvementsFirst of all, the targeting is often an issue and there are issues such as enemies piling up in a corner, and no skills are targeting corners after the rampart is damaged beyond a certain point for some reason. For the upgrade menu, there are 3 sets of gems you can equip (3 equipment sets), but when you inlay a gem into one of them it gets used up and can’t be used for the other 2. This defeats the purpose of having multiple selections, as you’re forced to just moves gems around anyway. Instead, make each of the “outfits” separate, so each one has all the gems available. Lastly, there is an option to quick combine, but there seems to not be one to just combine. I’m forced to auto combine all my higher level gems to combine the lowest level gems. Also, there’s a yellow currency used to upgrade the rampart but it seems like there’s no way to use it. These are just the issues, but honestly this is a great game, great concept, and it just needs some tweaks. Edit: got the rampart upgrades. Given that there isn’t a wiki, I think some things (like rewards for challengers) should be explained with a hint at least once. Like “this will be used later when you are level x”. On top of that, you can’t buy more stamina after a certain point. You can get 5 stamina 4x (per day I assume, I’ve only had the game a few hours) by watching videos, and you can get 15 stamina for 60 gems 4x. Then, that’s it. You can’t play anymore. Something I think could set you apart from other app games is if you did away with the stamina requirement for entering the main game. People who like your game are going to play it regularly and nothing ruins or reminds gamers that you’re just an app game than the loss of immersion because “you’re out of stamina, please wait while it comes back” When I play games I like I don’t want to put them down to wait for a chance to keep playing, no one does. That’s not to say you can’t have “entry items” for events. And yes I know you can watch an ad for a little bit of stamina, but you have that feature in good places elsewhere. Next I think you should have more mages, witches, or wizards with different abilities. Maybe have them start with one of the other spells like lightning/fire/ice instead of the arcane bolt. ✓ Challenging and funI agree with other reviewers that as monsters are are getting close, the wizard is focused on a certain enemy. But as they reach the wall, the focus changes to other enemies. What this does is take precious time away and before you know it, the wall crumbles. I’m on stage 10 right now and it seems there is absolutely no way I will pass without more time or more powerful weapons. As I recall, in the earlier walls, like 1 -7, my first weapon would take out an enemy in 3 or 4 shots. Now on level 10, it is taking 9 shots to take an enemy out! I don’t agree with that. I think it would be fair to take out an enemy in 5 shots at the most. Otherwise the wall will come down. The reason I like this game is because it is challenging and not super easy. But it is becoming super hard as I pass each wall. I think the weapons, especially the basic weapon that shoots a “bullet” should be stronger and take out enemies quicker. It’s also difficult to understand the strategy of combining gems so when I have an opportunity to do a “quick combine” I just do that. I would be happy to give the game 5 stars if you could remove my frustration with a wall coming down so quickly. I don’t think it should take between 20 and 50 attempts to take a wall. Its also heavily rng based if you win unless you put in time or money. If you consistently get bad upgrades, you’ll eventually get overwhelmed. Y’all get props from not forcing ads, and that’s pretty rare to see nowadays. (Main reason why I gave 4 stars) Though I’d raise how much gold you get per match, since you don’t get a lot after each game. And the daily 500 coins per ad watched doesn’t help when you need 1500 coins to upgrade a single spell from lvl 2 to lvl 3. Each character level grants you a new spell so coins are scarce. To help with the rng, I’d throw in a mini boss around wave 5, just a bit above normal mobs. Gives 1-3 power ups and make bosses always drop 3-5. ✓ My honest review + tips for starting outMy Review: The game’s mechanics are simple. You also aren’t bombarded with ADs, and after looking around the game I don’t think they have ADs apart from the ones you watch to receive a reward. The games mechanics function similar to other games in the genre such as survivor.io. However both games are entirely different in their own unique way. Overall this game is pretty fun, and I do believe it will increase your overall ability to think strategically. I heard a guy in the reviews give the game a 1-star rating, complaining about how the game was hard. But to be honest I think he just lacks any form of strategic thinking. Even poorly thought out risky strategies such as “putting all your eggs in one basket” or “spreading yourself too thin” are able to get you far enough to develop some sort of strategy. My Tips: As you progress it requires more strategic thinking when building your abilities. I’m 90% sure the abilities you get influence your primary ability magic called magic shot, which in my opinion is the best to level up. It has excellent crowd control capabilities, and fast fire rate. Pairing it up with icicle and fireball make a deadly combo. Fireball unlocks the explosive ability for magic shot, and icicle has excellent control for back ranks as well as DPS. Icicle has good pierce, speed and crowd control capabilities. The ability had amazing versatility and you can fit it into multiple strategies. My personal recommended strategy for new players, is to pick and develop 2 extra abilities along with your primary one magic shot. This allows for additional ATK and crowd control when leveling up your magic shot, and also helps repel enemies until your magic shot or other magic ability is able to hold them back. You could go with getting the maximum of 4 other abilities, but I personally don’t recommend doing so until you’re in the late stages of the game and have enough experience to know which abilities have the best synergy. It tells you what skill the gem improves and where the gem goes. However, I wish the game would tell you when you can combine gems even those that are being used. In order for me to know if I can combine them I have to “uninstall” the gems from being active to see if I can combine any. I also think there should be a key for what each set of letters mean. I install the gems but even as a 20 year old I don’t understand what some of the letters mean. Like CD or CH. I think I know but I’m not entirely sure. ✓ Fun, but brokenA recent update (on Dec 21, 2023) completely broke the game. It’s playable, but I can’t upgrade my spells and it crashes a lot. My current review is 1/5 but I’m rating 4/5 because I’ll probably forget to update the review when the game fixes. But when it was working, it’s good. Been playing it for like 2 or 3 weeks, on and off. Progression is a challenge and needs you to replay older stages to level up your spells and unlock new ones.
