Parallels Access for Negative User Reviews

Way Too PricyI liked this software immediately after I used it. It's superb and works great on my Mac. You have a group of great engineers and a group of poor marketing people. £54 per machine per year is way too expensive. I won't spent that money on it at all. You can by another PC after paying couple years of subscription fee. uninstalling…....Version: 1.0

Doesn’t scale to iPad Pro resolutionThis app unfortunately still doesn’t support the iPad Pro 12.9 2018 screen resolution. Impossible to use PyCharm remotely, picture is blurred and clearly not usable for a prolonged period of time..Version: 5.5.0

PoorResolution is very poor when connected to iMac. Not impressed..Version: 3.2.1

Why do they do this?Just paid a lot of money for the Parallels desktop. It's good, a bit fiddly and it has moments. I think it was worth it. Anyway. Now I'm offered this app for my iPad, iPhone etc. A free trial for a week? What! When I just paid you a handsome amount! Come on. Include this app in the package and stop trying to kill the golden-egg-laying-goose. ***Hi. Everyone. If you need a VNC there are a lot out there for free. If you want a no-hassle one, there's Jump Desktop and iTeleport which do a much better job and for less ps. To the owners of this. You will eventually receive enough ratings to let everyone know how good this app isn't. Pps. Why are people giving this app 4&5 stars and then slamming it in the review. *** Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity***. Get real here. Stop charging, earn respect and kudos and people will buy the main attraction. Carry with this and they may not..Version: 2.5.2

Ok at bestIt is very cool in concept, just lacking in execution. Half the time I've used it, it was waiting for a stable Internet. They are on the same Internet, and home Internet, not mobile 3G network. While I think it is pretty cool to be able to run desktop apps here, it isn't native app responsive, it's more like running a web app on your iPad. Don't know why you need the menu bar on the app with the close and minimize button. Full screen? Plus your computer is render useless while this is at work, the screen resolution will be scaled to to a iPad resolution 1024x768 (even for retina display) I guess that's lighter load for the Internet connection, plus you need to leave your computer on for the entire time. So yeah, this is just a toned down Remote Desktop app..Version: 1.0

Annoying Helper Icon / Causes Sound IssuesTheParallels Access app must be installed on the Mac in order for the iPad app to work, and this is where the problems and annoyances start. The helper icon (in the menu bar) is colorised with the red Parellels bars, and Paralells does give you a black and white option like most other apps. This is very annoying if you only want black and white icons in your menu bar. Running Paralellels Access on your Mac causes the Paralells Audio Driver to be your default sound system. This stops the sound coming through your internal speakers, and this setting does not appear to change back to the internal speakers when the app is finished running - you have to manually go into system preferences to change it back. The app runs on the Mac, but will not allow my iPad to connect for some reason despite the fact that I meet all the technical requirements. This app is more trouble than it's worth, and I definitely do not recommend you install the necessary Mac software (which you need). Avoid it, and use some other option like LogMeIn if you want remote access..Version: 1.0

Poor UI and awful desktop agent. Some of the functionality is really cool, such as being able to zoom in and general touch gestures. However the user-interface leaves a lot to be desired and is very poorly executed. This is also way more expensive than what I would be willing to pay for to have this functionality..Version: 1.0

Screen on computer enlargedWhen using Parallels access on my iPhone, the screen on my computer enlarges and I can’t scroll over to the right hand side of the screen.Version: 7.0.2

Support needs some workIt’s a great app, but there’s no support link in the app... just a non-clickable URL (all in uppercase for some reason). If you go to their website, support seems to be mostly restricted to social media, which feels like a cop-out. There’s an email option, but when you fill in the query form, the only operating system options are Mac or Windows... nothing for iOS or iPadOS! My problem is with the iOs client app, which is suddenly prompting me for a passcode. I don’t remember what it is as I’ve been unlocking the app with Face ID. There’s no link in the app to help this, or anything on their website. All in all, a bit rubbish..Version: 5.1.1

WARNING DO NOT BUY - Product refuses for work & no supportThis is the worst customer experience I’ve had. Spent over 4 hours trying to get support so that the subscription I’ve paid for is recognised by the product. Apple support has been fantastic. Parallels has been non existent! I emailed, I posted to Twitter. I did everything asked of me. What did I get in return? 1x email in a 24 hour period. No phone support - beware everyone, there isn’t any! Only Twitter and Forums! You’ve got to be kidding? For paid premium subscribers? That’s right. And guess what, it’s non existent. I wouldn’t touch this organisation or it’s products if you paid me. Sure they work great unless you need support- and then there’s nothing, zilch. Rating: 1/10 Worst Product Experience in a decade..Version: 5.6.0

Stinking messGot a six month trial as part of Parallels Desktop 9 upgrade, but seems we are just beta testers for an unfinished product. Only been able to connect once, can't connect anymore even when on the same network. And if I have to sit through that mind numbingly boring video every time I install the app on a new iPad I'll shoot myself..Version: 1.0

DismalDo not pay money for this app this performance is so disappointing the remote access on my local Netwerk gave me low resolution extremely low frame rate very disappointing and basically not worth your time. I don’t know what they did to make it so below mediocre but as far as I can tell this app is a cash gram they don’t care about making an actually useful and well performing VNC Viewer. Especially true when you take into account that Google makes their own remote desktop application which is entirely free and performs the best out of any that I’ve tried to go for the free option not this load of dung.Version: 7.0.2

Not over-impressedIt’s good software, but I wasn’t as impressed once I had it downloaded. I can do all the same things this does with Chrome Remote Desktop for free. It’s not bad, but I was disappointed once I had it downloaded..Version: 5.1.1

Does not work on iPhone XWorks fine on iPad (except for major mouse issues), but not at all on iPhone X. Tried to create ticket via support but it won’t let me email, phone or chat. Why? I can’t use Facebook or Twitter. Very frustrating. This has worked great for years until recently. Might have to switch to TeamViewer as support seems to have stopped for this app..Version: 4.0.0

ProblemsLooks good but in the one application I've tried it doesn't allow me to enter numerals into any field that's collecting ages or money, except for the number 8 for some reason. I'll add that the pricing is way too high as well..Version: 1.0

SecurityFor this app to work it opens up your Mac and reflects the screen back to the iPad. This means that everything you do remotely is visible on the host computer. As it also unlocks your computer, someone can simply cancel the remote access app on the host and have full access to the unlocked system. For my use case this is unacceptable..Version: 6.5.3

If it actually worked…I’m sure those who could get this to work have reason for positive reviews, however unfortunately not only is their website portal down and throwing errors to prevent seeing the payment options, remote connecting just does not work. Until they fix their servers and websites, this is a 0 star app..Version: 6.5.1

4 paid years of unreliable serviceI’ve had to install Chrome Remote Desktop as a back up solution. Now it seems like it’s all I use. As I write this I can’t connect to any computers from iPhone and the iPad app can’t even list my computers. Not to mention how often the web browser service is down. I have been a subscriber for over 4 years and I’m over it..Version: 4.0.0

Product Unusable And Support Is AwfulI have a Mac Mini (M1) running Ventura, and am trying to access it from an iPad 11” (4th Gen). The Mac is a new home installed system that was used to replace a Mac-In-The-Cloud VM that could not be upgraded beyond Carolina due to the cloud provider’s configuration. So I bought the new machine, and hosted it myself. Set it up, and can access it with a keyboard and monitor perfectly. Installed the Parallels Access configuration, and have regretted it ever since. Every few moments, it freezes with the message ‘Pasting from “computer name”’, and will not release until I press cancel. About 70% of the time, the screen stops responding to mouse clicks, and I am forced to exit the session, and log back in. This gives me about 5-10 minutes of use at a time. And there does not appear to be any way to configure it to stop trying to paste from my remote machine. I tried to contact support, but they make it very difficult to actually ask them anything, only read their FAQ, which by the way is only a glowing review about how awesome their program works. Very annoying when their program is not working awesome, and simply adds to the frustration. My best suggestion is to skip this program, and go with one of the other Remote Desktop solutions on the market… This one is not worth the money, and their support is even worse..Version: 7.0.2

Too expensiveToo expensive cannot afford after trial period would be good if they dropped the price.Version: 1.0.3

HORRIBLETHIS APP IS HORRIBLE PLS DO NOT GET IF YOU HAVE IPAD/IPHONE 6 OR UP IT WONT WORK.Version: 6.5.1

Still not support the new iPad Pro resolutionAll other Remote Desktop app are already supporting the new iPad Pro resolution, except this.Version: 4.0.4

Right hand toolbar goneThe vital toolbar that auto-hides and you should be able to access by swiping in from the right of the screen doesn’t work any more. No matter whether I swipe from the right or do anything else I can’t make it materialise any more. The app is useless without it..Version: 6.0.0

Rubbish !Don't waste your money. This APP DOES NOT WORK ! Sure it connects to my iMac, but that is all. Ipad just shows black screen while my mac just shows a grey screen..Version: 2.1.0

It’s good but not greatThis app is brilliant for being able to remotely access your home or work computer in a pinch. However I’ve found it’s not particularly well optimised to iOS 13, especially with the new trackpad / mouse support for the iPads. Navigating through your Remote Desktop using the on-screen mouse in the app is frustratingly slow and imprecise. It’s a pity because it’s the only hurdle to making this app perfect. Hoping this is addressed soon, if the trackpad support through iOS could be incorporated allowing for easier scrolling, right clicking and pinch to zoom, I’d never bring the laptop outside the house again!.Version: 5.6.0

Works great and as expected, but not optimized for new iPadsParallels Access works great to remote into my computer. Having a built-in launchpad works wonders and is in a league of its own because of it. However, the screen resolutions that are available and the lack of optimization for the bigger screen on the new iPad Pros make it hard to properly use the remote connection if you are doing anything productive or consuming content. Not only is the aspect ratio locked to the one of the monitor connected to the computer, since the application doesn’t use the full space of the bigger screen, the remote screen is tiny and makes it hard to use. Ideally, Parallels should be able to not only resize the resolution to an aspect ratio better suited for the iPad, but also optimize the application for the new iPad pros..Version: 4.0.4

What a complete piece of crap this is.I load it, follow the instructions and by the time I get it up and running it says “your trial has expired”. Won’t display any but my browser. It’s complete garbage like every other product I’ve used from this company. Don’t waste your time..Version: 7.0.2

Great idea, very poor executionI got the subscription for free and it's worth every cent. It's incomplete and full of bugs on the Mac. Do not pay for this rubbish..Version: 2.1.0

Session Not ResumingUsing the application works great until you switch to another app in the iPad. For example if I am using Parallels then I need to switch to another iPad app and then go back to it it does not reconnect. The mouse is not moving and it acts like it is frozen. I have to disconnect from the session and reconnect to allow me to use it again. This is not functional..Version: 4.0.3

Way too many bugsConstant issues using iPad to access iMac. Not worth the hassles or security risks of someone being able to use your remote computer if they are in front of it while removing in. Even after spending lots of time with support trying to fix. Look for a better solution if you use macs.Version: 6.0.2

Customer Support very hard to reachBasically I gave up trying to activate. My computer could not open the download. Good luck trying to reach support services..Version: 2.0.0

I really want this App to work.........but it doesn’t (on my PC). Consistently crashed and forced a soft reboot. I didn’t want to give it a bad review without contacting their support team, so I emailed them, gave them details of my PC, firewall/antivirus SW, etc, and offered to supply any info they required. After waiting two weeks for someone to come back to me, I have given up. So my verdict: on paper, it looks great and I would love it to work, but due to what appears to be a total lack of customer service, I have to give it a 1 star rating..Version: 5.6.1

Has Never WorkedI have a MacBook Pro and several PC desktops at home, this app has never once connected or been stable when away from the house. I cannot safely assume I can get into those machines using this. Parallels is good for being a windows option on Mac, but not a remote access software..Version: 7.0.8

$79.99 a year!!!!$79.99 a year and you don't find out until after you've signed up and installed everything. I found this to be very dishonest, I didn't see anything about a trial version in all the reading I did. The was a total waste of time..Version: 1.0

ParallelsIdea of app is quite good and layout But is not useable even on fibre wifi using art programs to much lag Can't charge money for it until you get it right.Version: 3.1.4

Excellent idea, poor pricing plan5 stars for the app. 2 stars for the $80 yearly price plan. Justify why this considered as service when I connect to my computer with my internet service provider and the app is sending screen shots back and forth between the device and the computer. It should be charged as a product not as service for a year..Version: 1.0

Does not workI really like parallels, but this app does nothing. My Mac has a green light on "accessible", but the ipad app just has a skinny thing forever..Version: 1.0

Some functionality should be freeI was only using it to transfer files. Basically to skip moving the file to google drive and downloading it from there. I was not aware of the free trial period so once I ran out, I figured going through the extra step is worth 27 dollars a year so I stopped using it. I thought that subscription was optional and only added some functionality such as the ability to edit files (which I was considering paying for but now I’m over it)..Version: 6.1.0

Great idea implemented badlyFaster and cleaner programming than most apps like this so why does this brilliant work fail so much? 1) put a skip button at the start of the demo. We all know how to operate a computer. The beginning video is invasive and patronising. Your software should be intuitive in the first place. If people need help, give them a help button. 2) too many email alerts. I had 5 already. Irritating and invasive. 3) subscription service? Death of your app. Get rid of that immediately. Charge 1.99 and put out a demo lite version too. After 14 days, I and many others will stop using the app. That's bad PR. It's sad to see so much work done that falls flat on its face. Remember the two worst things software can be: CAPITALISTIC and INVASIVE. Ugly Microsoft software should never be your role model..Version: 1.0

The update makes it very slow so badI hate this App but it's so good the last time I installed it. Plz make it faster on iPad and PC.Version: 2.1.0

RidiculousGood product but at a ridiculous price of $80/year per computer. Office 365 at $99/year gets you the suite for a year you get to use it on 5 computers. Over priced is an understatement..Version: 1.0

Not that greatNot that great for the amount of access it requires it seems slow and wont display a VM which the whole point of parallels. Also once it starts to attempt to connect there’s no way to stop it and you must force close the app to gain control again. Worst implementation of Remote Desktop I’ve ever used.Version: 6.2.0

Wot, no Snow Leopard??Sorry, not prepared to upgrade all our Macs to Lion in order to use this. Also, isn't "Access" a trademark of Microsoft, Inc?.Version: 1.0

Nice but way to expensiveNice work well thought through but way to expensive for the average person to use.Version: 1.0

Unusable since updateSine the last update app is unusable. We had our team of 5 using it and no one who updated had any functionality. I have contacted customer support over and over. They closed the ticket and said they would still work on it. Haven’t heard from anyone for weeks. Had to start over with another app :(. Disappointing as we loved this app, when it worked..Version: 4.0.0

Beta isn't very goodFirst of all it wouldn't open - just sat there After 10 min I gave up Had another go a few days later and it worked fine Is very very slow and uses up a lot of bandwidth - I can understand this being the case if streaming video, but for basic navigation it needs to be fixed so that it isn't so slow/clunky Can't see any reason to stop using logmein at this stage - will review it again in a months time DavidR.Version: 1.0

Genuine Reviews? The reviews here are possibly so OTT that I doubt they are all genuine. This app is ok. One of its downsides is that after disconnecting from your Mac it often leaves it MUTE. You have to go into preferences and manually switch back. The company knows about this issue. Parallels are very hard to pin down both in their tech support and in their documentation for the programme. Their data collection defaults also need to change. To summarise, it has some good features but done downsides too. Uninstalling for instance has been made very difficult and will put off a lot of people who don't know how to use Terminal..Version: 2.1.0

I’m just not sure!If you spend an afternoon setting it up sat next to the Mac you want To remotely access it works great right there and then. It is also fair to say that when you actually NEED to have it work it will for about 50% of the time. The other 50% it tells you you need to set it up again! I’ve lost count of how many set ups I’ve done! Gotta do another now hence the review! When it works it’s great, - when it doesn’t work it’s pointless! Obviously!.Version: 5.6.0

Too expensive, barely worksTo use this so-called "free" app, you have to pay a yearly subscription of around £50. Also, it doesn't work very well..Version: 2.5.1

Horrible for CalStateLA studentsI’m a student at CSULA and need to use SPSS program within this application. All kinds of issues trying to connect this with my iPhone. Also, tried using it with my computer and it keeps trying to “find the computer”. I gave up and decided to simply go on campus and use the computers there. This app is not ready for the 21st century of mobile friendly applications. Most business is conducted via mobile phones and this cannot compete with the current market..Version: 4.0.4

Parallels no AccessBought this and kept the subscription for a few years. Will be cancelling as support unable to get it working again.Version: 4.0.4

To expensiveTo expensive for the number of times use it, about once a month. And the fact i have to pay for parallel for all new version update, i to expensive too. I had to pay for mac version and ipad version after about 3 uses on ipad in 4 month..Version: 1.1.0

Too much $$There are hundreds similar and MUCH better apps / tools out there with a 1 flat rate. Deleted. Back to my Evodia Screens!.Version: 3.0.0

No starsParallels and Access in particular has poor support, poor programming and fails continuously. Do not buy the scam yearly fee makes it worse. Spent an entire weekend with the feeble tech support having me do all the actions on their site even I did them already. The iOS app simply collapses when launching a remote program from both my Mac OS X machines and Windows machine. Twenty reports sent to Parallels and no result. Utter garbage do not purchase any license, simply theft of your money for something that doesn’t work and they can’t seem to fix ..Version: 7.0.1

Misleading InfoThis app is only free for ONE WEEK, then you must subscribe and pay. My second complaint is that access to a desktop computer can only be made when\if the Parallel Access is open on that computer. For me—that means no one else can be using my desktop computer. That’s exactly the time I would want to access the computer from my iPad. Bummer☹️.Version: 6.5.1

Total waste of moneyRefuses to connect from my iPad to my iMac. No usable error messages to even indicate why. I actually opened my iPad while sitting at my iMac and tried to connect. I saw a message on the iMac that said “This computer is being accessed remotely” (or words to that effect), but the iPad just refused to show any connection. I guess I’ll just have to keep my MacBook to do offline work..Version: 4.0.0

Ok but to expensiveTo expensive subscription. For Mac only 30 days trail :-( Windows 90 days.Version: 1.0.1

I prefer Splashtop 2I prefer Splashtop 2 and I think that this software works very badly and its annual cost is much too high..Version: 1.0

Junk Beta ReleaseWhen I first downloaded and used it, I loved it. Great functionality and UI. Until it stopped working. The remote computer just shows offline, tried all the knowledgebase troubleshooting steps, even called and wasted 30 mins with tech support. Don’t work. Don’t waste your money. Frustrating when a really nice piece of software doesn’t actually work. I think these guys are more mac oriented, if that side works, they should just drop the windows functionality altogether. (The tech on the phone said Sir can you reboot your mac, without even asking what kind of a computer I had). lol..Version: 7.0.2

Pricey APPPricey APP, 52 dollars for 1 computer and 1 year. not worth the money..Version: 1.0.2

Terrrible technical supportHad trouble connecting to my computer Technical support kept telling me to reinstall software on my computer Trouble was with their server software Never received any help information from technical support and in one case received wrong information (they told me that it couldn’t be done, I assume because they didn’t know how).Version: 5.0.1

£54 a year....?!!Fundementally this seems to be a good product and offers flexibility and control. I love the Mac desktop version and wouldn't be without it. I therefore downloaded this app thinking it would be a good add- on.....but over £50 - per year! ... I'm not sure why there has to be a charge at all given I've spent a considerable amount on the desktop version, and why an annual fee? For me it is simply too much. I wouldn't mind paying £10 or so but how do they justify asking £54 let alone an annually renewable fee? As attractive and clever as the app is I'm very disappointed in Parallel Software's approach and pricing. I'll be uninstalling not because the software implementation is poor but because an annual fee at this level is just plain wrong. Sorry Parallels - I think your pricing for an app is greedy and that you'll ultimately find that out..Version: 1.0

I already confirmed, telling me to do it again! So I created an account for it and now it’s telling me to confirm, which I have!!!.Version: 3.2.1

Too inconvenientEach time i tap on the screen, the keyboard pops up hiding the content I want to interact with. I want to be able to call the keyboard ONLY when I need it.Version: 3.0.2

ExpensiveExpensive.Version: 1.0

Problematic installIf you have an older version of Parallels access and upgrade your Parallels with a new install, you still need to update Parallels Access separately if you are running Catalina. It took me about two hours to figure out the new install did not include Parallels Access’ update. The support site was not helpful either. They need notes for Catalina users, especially ones that updated. Will raise rating once their support site addresses this..Version: 5.6.0

Business edition a bad dealI purchased the “Business” edition because it allowed access to up to 5 computers. That’s fine if you want everyone to have the same login and use that to access ALL (each) of those 5 computers, but if you want to restrict access to any of them, you have to purchase a separate license, and set up separate logins. I contacted support to clarify this or get a refund within about 24 hours of my purchase. They promised a callback from their “business” dept but I’ve heard nothing after a full day. Basically, the app works but the “Business” edition is a complete ripoff unless you just want everyone with a Parallels login to your account to have full access to any computer using the app . We need remote access that can be limited based on the individual device to only certain individuals, which is what we thought we were getting. Rather than trust Parallels again, I’m willing to spend more with a company that can offer this and that actually calls you back when they promise to do so..Version: 4.0.3

It will mess up your windowsI know the Windows client is beta, but when you diconnect from it, your resolution on the PC will be messed up. I tried this in my Windows laptop with two external monitors and after disconnect everything was in one of the external monitors and resolution 640x480. Big job to get everything where it was, especially if you like having your programs open in different screens. Will change the rate when it gets fixed. I also have to try running the client in my Mac. Right now I'm not going to pay a cent for this service..Version: 1.0

Not worth the Subscription or the Business editionNot very up to date doesn’t completely work with the new iPad Pro 12.9 and the speed and quality even on really fast WiFi and the same WiFi as the host is really bad something like luna display is better but you have to be on the same network and IT solutions like Microsoft Remote Desktop aren’t very practical Parallels just needs to update their app and it should become more useful.Version: 4.0.3

Predatory Subscription - Waste of timeYou're asked as the user to create an account or log in using your apple ID. Then, you're asked to install an application on your PC. Then, you're asked to provide a multitude of permissions to this application. Including full read & write access to the entirety of your HDD, Screen recording and control permissions. Understandable, if they didn't immediately turn around and force you into a subscription service the minute you try to launch a remote session. With little, to no prior mention of a subscription service being required. Complete waste of my time..Version: 6.5.0

Good app, need to add support for iPad OS trackpad supportGood app, never have many connectivity issues myself. What needs to be added is mouse/trackpad support, which iPad OS now supports. For example, two finger scrolling through documents parallels access does not work, you still must click the screen to scroll through documents..Version: 5.6.0

Unreliable UseThis app worked great when I started to use it years ago. Lately very chancy to connect with computer. Always need to restart computer or have somewhat else to do it. Finally just bought a new Windows computer to make connections. Still would love to use iPhone or tablet to connect on the go..Version: 7.0.2

Pleasantly surprised but sticker shockThis is the best remote access app I've seen so far. They've really made both OSX and Windows touch-friendly. The only negative is the really high-priced subscription model. I wish they would make a LAN version of this and charge a one-time fee for it. Price is exorbitant..Version: 1.0.1

Currently not usableNeed to wait for updates to see if they can make it better.Version: 1.0

Another Piece of CrapLike the Title says, a piece of Crap, for ONLY $49.00 per year!.Version: 1.1.0

Absolute Disgrace!Incredible a) that the App developer can promote this as a working product and b) that the AppStore will make it available to the unsuspecting public. The product doesn't work and there is no indication from Parallels as to when it will..Version: 1.0

STUPID IN CANADA!!!!Such a stupid app… there is no app on the Canadian Store, so once you installed it on your iPad it’s useless, cause you can’t install the version on your Mac… the agent is not on the app store. SO STUPID!!! I just erased it....Version: 2.0.0

Keyboard issueWhen I leave about 10mins Bluetooth keyboard sometimes not works, Keyboard still can control my iPad but no reaction through parallels access, If i turn off parallels access off and on, keyboard works again, The keyboard I use are magic keyboard and Logitech slim combo, both of these two keyboards are bought from apple official site, and they are full charged. WiFi of host and client are very good..Version: 5.0.1

Not ready for useThere is too many bugs. I can't even use steam it doesn't let me click on anything and always brings up the keyboard But it's nice for the free trial but don't pay until this app is finished. And the free trial will make it not possible to find out when it is finished becuase after 15 days you can't check if it's fixed. It should be free untill it's fixed and remove the trial period.Version: 2.1.0

AlrightIt’s ok. Shame photo thumbnails are reduced to an icon when in Finder mode. Makes finding images a tedious process. Find the various Parallels desktop applications confusing. An app update appeared to remove all my computers which then needed re-establishing, which in turn meant being physically in front of the relevant machines. The app had updated automatically. Luckily I wasn’t away from the office so was able to re-establish my machines on the app. Once everything is up and running, the app works well not withstanding issues with internet connectivity. . Moving photos (for example) when accessing via iPhone is frustrating in that dragging and dropping only gets you so far. The screen doesn’t move with you. Navigating around is like playing that fairground game where you try and grab the prize with a crane but just when you think you’ve got it secure it drops. Infuriating! I think the app does a relatively decent job given the difficulties interfacing iOS with the desktop, but I just feel it’s missing some obvious fixes..Version: 6.0.2

Priced out of contentionDefinitely better than Teleport because of its incorporation of gestures, but no better than Screens which is very responsive and equally effective. The ridiculously high subscription cost of Parallels vs the $20 once only cost of Screens makes rejection of Parallels a no brainer..Version: 1.0.3

Spotty coverageConnection does not reliably work. When I need to pull a file or presentation from my home computer this is a HUGE disappointment, and defeats the point of the app if I can’t rely on it 100%. Go with google Remote Desktop or other desktop viewer with better reliability..Version: 6.5.3

Great app, bad securityThis app is very well built and filled with great features, but any time i want to actually use it, i found i have to login and do mfa all over again. Because Ive always been signed out before i need it, its simply too unreliable to use. You will have better luck with a vpn and a vnc app..Version: 7.0.8

Useless if you have more than 1 display. It only supports the primary display. If you have multiple displays, it’s supposed to aggregate open apps/windows on the primary display, but it doesn’t. Even if you force close apps remotely and reopen them, they open on other displays. But it gets worse, you can’t even access a parallels virtual machine (which might be running on 1 display). Mine, for example, always loads on the 2nd display. I guess if you run 1 display, it’s fine. In 2023, most of us don’t, so it’s an exercise in frustration. Who wants to physically unplug the other displays when they’re rushing out of their home or office? That’s the whole point of Remote Desktop. In the boards, Parallels advises users to just use the web portal. If you do that, though, you need to delete this app or it will load instead. In terms of user experience, web portals are just plain terrible on iOS b.c of browser limitations. They really need to fix this issue that’s been active in the parallels community for years. They have a great dev team (parallels desktop is incredible), so it’s just not a priority..Version: 7.0.2

No WayOver $80 per year, PER computer?! Parallels really have got it wrong. Will be uninstalling - remote access from an iPad is never going to be indispensable, particularly at that price. The Windows host software is also in beta. This is simply unacceptable given the premium pricing of the service..Version: 1.0

Great app but iPad Pro full screen update long overdueThis app is awesome and hugely useful, but unfortunately it is hamstrung on the best device to use it on: iPad Pro. It still doesn't fill the entire iPad screen. That extra screen space would be extremely useful when using this app. Any news on an update, Parallels?.Version: 4.0.4

Pricing itself out of the market? No way should this App - which works well in most respects - be more than say a one-off total of GBP 5.99 max., esp. for existing users of Parallels desktop. True, there are similar apps that charge a similar eye-watering amount, but that''s no excuse. Self-defeating marketing IMHO - a price of the kind suggested would enable this App to sweep the board. So 4 stars for functionality, but zero for pricing..Version: 1.0.1

Very fiddlyJust isn’t very slick REALLY hard to do things like drag or right click with any accuracy.Version: 5.6.0

SlowIt’s a super slow lagging app. The connection is disconnected every so often it refreshes the user interface is cumbersome. It works sometimes on a Mac and work sometimes an iPad or a regular computer but it’s never really reliable. It’s always refresh rate that’s really liking all the time...Version: 7.0.2

Do Not Use - no Longer workingThis app was a lifesaver for the last 2-3 years. I could access my home or work laptop from my iPad Pro and it allowed me to not have to carry either around — Well, it no longer works. Just sits and spins and loads — contacted support via messenger (no response), via chat (no one ever connected) , and via email (auto response promising follow up that never happened). My support ticket says “solution provided” that seems impossible without communicating with the person that submitted it. If you were one of the people I recommended this now defunct program, I am very sorry that the product has failed and the customer service is even worse..Version: 6.5.1

Toolbar missingAfter opening a desktop application, there is NO toolbar to control and go back to main menu. Please fix it.Version: 5.6.0

Contrary to Parallels claims nothing new hereApple failed to post my last review perhaps because this app left me with many negative this to say about the company that sells Parallels, and professional website reviews that give a glowing review to this app. I thought this was a place to state opinion, but apparently expanding too much on a negative opinion becomes "inappropriate" at some point with no official Apple guidelines to follow that I am aware of. I have left out those expanded opinion details and now relate just the facts and my personal view. You can decide for yourself. This is the first time I have had a review not get posted. Apple please post this somewhat modified review, and also post explicitly what guidelines are used to deem a review "inappropriate". I'm expert level at networking. Installed the host app on both my Mac Mini and MacBook Retina, both under OS X 10.8.4. The mini also has the server app. Both show as "available" from the client. Mac Mini never connects, although the MacBook does. No network settings to try to alter. Sent an email to their tech support days ago. Have not heard back. Does not live up to its claim of being "like using the apps natively". Only trick here is they make every app you launch run maximized (not true OS X full screen as they claim). You can simply click on Window > zoom in the OS X tittle bar with any other remote app and do the same thing. Decent mouse gestures yes, but no better than Splashtop Remote which has much better quality video and is significantly cheaper. Decided to uninstall. No uninstall utility to do a clean uninstall off the Mac. Come on Parallels that's not acceptable for an app at this price point. Thought I would go back to the older Parallels remote app for iOS which has been a feature of Parallels 7 and 8. No longer in the iOS App Store. If you have to reinstall Parallels mobile on iOS, you are now SOL. Parallels has taken away a feature from existing loyal version 7 and 8 customers forcing them to now pay for the functionality that was advertised as included with versions 7 and 8. This whole experience has very negatively impacted my formerly positive view of Parallels. Not a company that I want to do business with any more..Version: 1.0

A lot of lag with the recent releasesI have been using Parallel Access (PA) for more than 2 years and generally, the performance is very good. I can connect via cellular and still have decent speed. However, since early 2019, something happened where EVERYTHING is lagging. When I connect to a remote computer, it takes MINUTES to enter ONE character in the login screen. No changes to my network at all and I still have fast speed (see above - was working in the last 2 years). For testing, I purchased Jump Desktop, which offer similar remote access solution and I have zero lag. I even tried to connect when I am using 3G (around 200 Kbps) and I have no problem connecting using Jump Desktop. So SOMETHING has changed with the Parallel Access app (iOS or Mac) that makes it lag so bad. Of course, tech support is clueless and blamed my network speed, Mac, etc..Version: 4.0.4

No good when you have multiple monitors and one is smallI cannot adjust to the proper location on the monitor because one of my monitors is smaller than others... The smaller one is forced by access to use the same display positioning of the largest one when in access mode -- where all monitors are forced to have same display. In that mode the smallest monitor crops the display somewhat and then leaves some space elsewhere so that I cannot get to various places to make mouse clicks. Since it is difficult on the iPad to force safari to directly display the remote.... Because you are forced to go into Access client... You have no option to use browser unless you use Firefox and then you are Missing the controls, and you spiral into u usability..Version: 4.0.4

Use VMware Fusion insteadThis thing is a nightmare. Stay away. Use VMware Fusion instead.Version: 5.0.1

Not what it used to beI originally purchased this because of the ability to use my iMac from my iPad Pro. Then I was conned into purchasing the new version of parallels thinking I was getting the same product but upgraded. However instead I found that it is only good for one computer and now you have to separately purchase parallels access time and have to purchase a separate key to add a second computer. It seems that now the product is not what it used to be and I have realized that it would be cheaper to just get a MacBook than continue with all the add on purchases I will have to make to continue to be able to use this product. Sad..Version: 4.0.2

Halfway there5 stars for being such an awesome product with the greatest functionality I've tried on this type of app. That being said, 0 stars because the price is not only ridiculous for the service, but it's only ONE computer per 80$ on top of that. I'll gladly pay 80$ for a laptop bag and bring it all over the place instead of using it through my iPad. Average, because it's ok for the first 14 days I guess, 2.5 stars..Version: 1.0

Can’t add apps to the listI hit add, and toggle a few additional apps - but there doesn’t seem to be a way to save or get out of the pop up? I end up stuck there. I’ve tried killing the app and launching it again - hoping my selections got saved - but no luck. Am I missing something in the UI or is this broken?.Version: 3.2.1

Not useable anymoreI started using this product when it came out. For the last 2 months or so the product has been unusable. While typing my password from my iPad so as to log onto my Mac nothing appears on the Mac...in other words you type, but nothing is received on the Mac and you can’t log in. I spent a lot of time with tech support, sent reports and logs..only to find out that it’s a known issue. So for 2 months no fix...unacceptable. I cannot depend on them....I had to switch vendors and essentially waste the remainder of my subscription fee...beware. It’s great when it works, but honestly, I’ve had far to many hours spent with tech support to be able to recommend this product. Edit To Respond to Developer... I had read that article, which also says your investigating the issue. I’ve uninstalled Access because it doesn’t work for me and tech support is no help and the knowledge base is no help and the app hasn’t been updated with a fix in over 2 months. I actually need this product and can’t wait any longer..Version: 4.0.3

Discontinued App with no refundApp discontinued on March 5, 2024 with outstanding contract until July 2025. Parallels has not indicated if/when refunds will be issued for service which they will no longer provide, even if purchasers will not get any service after April 20, 2024. Refunds for undelivered contractual services must be processed.Version: 7.0.8

Stopped workingHasn't worked in the last 3 months. Only shows a black screen when connected..Version: 3.1.7

Used to be greatWhen I started using this app, it was great, but since the most recent updates the service has become unstable and the app much slower and less responsive. I also miss a stand-alone app to connect to other computers instead of having to use their web based connection system, which is rather slow. An app with great potential that seems to have lost it along the way..Version: 4.0.2

IPad ProGood, but screen resolutions need to be updated for iPad Pro..Version: 3.0.2

Great product, ridiculous price. At £54 per year I won't even give this product a second thought as I delete it. Which is a pity because if they had the pricing better - i.e. a one off reasonable price - I'd buy it without a second thought. And it's this huge pricing error which knocks 3 stars off for me..Version: 1.0

Need Desktop optionThe Apps great if you like Parallels terrible Access interface. Put a Desktop option on to use the Mac / PC as it’s supposed to be used. Scrapping this app and reverting back to RDP over SSH and VNC over SSH until I can use it as I expect..Version: 7.0.2

Gouge Mark IISo let me get this straight -- I pay for the previous iteration of Parallels' iOS app and find it nearly useless. But rather than improve it, Parallels releases a new app with a new name that does the exact same things but charges an $80 annual subscription? Got it. Thank you. No. I will remain happy with my existing VNC apps..Version: 1.0
