Step Out! Smart Alarm Clock for Negative User Reviews

You'd better set a backup alarm! This is the most confusing app ever. You really don't know what to do with some of the options like Autolock and crazy things happen all the time when you open the app or try to take your steps. Saving a new alarm or deleting an alarm is ridiculous in its complexity. BUT I still use it every morning because the annoying "kids laughing" alarm sound always gets me up eventually. Yes, you have to unlock your phone and open the app in order to take your steps and to shut off the alarm. But if you choose Only One Snooze in the options, it eventually snoozes you every single minute, which is what gets me up. But expect tons of bugs and weird things to happen in this app. It's highly imperfect, but it does get me up better than any other alarm clock..Version: 1.2.2

Hardly used itHad to review to change background which is done when setting up. Silly cause I have barely turned it on and used it but it forces you to review.Version: 1.2.2

It would work better if certain things were fixed. This app has the potential to work. I was happy with it on the first day, because the alarm woke me up perfectly. But the next day, it didn't start ringing until I went to the app to inspect why (after the point it was supposed to go off.) On the third and fourth days, I discovered in my half-asleep state that I could just close the app and go back to sleep. Another thing is, I went to the app to check if I still had another alarm set, then the alarm from the previous morning went off. To stop it, I moved my phone as if I was walking around (though I wasn't) and that was enough to trick the app. This is the first app I've ever paid for, and I'm not so impressed with it. Considering it has only worked once all week, I give it 3 stars. They should definitely find a way to fix the kinks..Version: 1.2.2

Great concept, pretty good appI used this app once last week and it worked perfectly, which is why I gave it as many stars as I did. I happened to lose my phone the day after I downloaded it, so I just tried it again for the next time more than a week later. Fortunately, by a random stroke of luck, I happened to wake up 30 seconds before the alarm went off, but I was very surprised to only hear a little ding, and see that it had just sent me a little notification. Because it didn't do this last week, I know it's a problem with how I've configured the settings somehow, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to fix this, and it seems to me that a setting like that shouldn't be hidden, since it's such an important piece to making this app at all functional. When I get it figured out, this rating will probably go up because when it went off properly, this app was perfect..Version: 1.2.2

Great job!!!!Gets me out of bed for sure! Try it, it does exactly what it says!.Version: 1.2.2

Step counter doesn't work wellI spent 5 minutes walking around my house, waking the entire street up as you can't adjust the volume of the alarm whilst ringing, only to be repeatedly told I am cheating and that the counters will reset! Would have been one star but it DID get me out of bed, but didn't function properly at all..Version: 1.2.2

ReviewApparently I have to review the app before I’m able to use it/ before I save my settings?.Version: 2.1.2

Effective but flawedLike many who download this app, I snooze- repeatedly and habitually. When I became desperate and hit the App Store searching for a solution, this app seemed well-reviewed so I went for it. It could benefit from a better step counter as I have to walk in endless circles around my living room just to get 10 steps and often get accused of cheating. I also hate that I have to push "I'm awake" for it to start counting. And the alarm won't go off if your phone is on "do not disturb," which means I have to hear texts and emails as they come through all night. Apple's alarm works despite having "do not disturb" on, so it's not intuitive that I would need to leave my volume on. But overall it gets me up. That's what I wanted. It's not perfect but hey, it was 2 bucks..Version: 1.2.2

Good appIt's gotten me out of bed early often the last few weeks. So it works! :-). Love how persistent it is. There does seem to be an issue though where it won't play sound some mornings, but still sends notifications when it's time to get up. Even though my phone's not on silent or flight mode etc. and there are workarounds to shutting it off - such as deleting the app while its trying to wake you up....Version: 1.2.2

Not good at all, the alarms didn’t even go offGot the app mainly because of the fact I’d need to either take a picture or hit a certain number of steps to turn the alarm off. Upon setting up the alarm it was really confusing. Once I got the time set for when I wanted up than cake choosing the alarm sound. The app showed the option to go into my music but no matter how many times I clicked it it would not open (app was granted access it let me do it one time but wouldn’t work after). I set one alarm to require me to take a picture of something on a different level of my house than my bed and set a second alarm to require me to take 20 steps. Went to go to bed and closed all my apps on my phone when I was given a notification saying if I closed that app the alarm wouldn’t work. I left it open in the background, morning came and neither of the alarms went off. Wish I wouldn’t have spent the money..Version: 2.1.4

Feature unlock for review Blackmail isn’t you’re best option...Since I’ve got to write a review to unlock a theme that doesn’t look like a kindergarten ... here goes.... my 30 seconds of experience using this app have left me feeling like I’ve just dropped the soap.Version: 2.1.4

I'm so confused!Wait, wait! You're an alarm clock that doesn't have an alarm to wake you up! That doesn't make any sense. Your little music will play once and then immediately go to snooze when I unlock the phone. But once snooze is up, the only way you try to wake me up is by sending me silly little text messages, which of course I don't hear when I'm asleep. In order to actually hear my alarm I have to manually tell you that I up before taking my steps. But I shouldn't have to be up and actively working in order to make my alarm go off! Give me the option to snooze once or twice, and then make my alarm go off with actual music that won't stop until I get my steps in. I shouldn't have to press a certain button in order to make this happen. You have a fantastic idea but some serious kinks to work out. Also it is rude to ask paying customers to review their product in order to use certain features only minutes after downloading this app. Give people 2 to 3 days to find out if your app actually works, which it doesn't seem to, before reviewing. Also your website is in need of serious assistance. I had high hopes for this app but it simply doesn't work unless you're already awake. Pretty much pointless..Version: 1.2.2

Effective but unreliableLike most people here, I needed to find an alternative to the usual alarm clock. This app actually does work and does help me to get up. HOWEVER. It does have some bugs, and they are pretty significant for an app that you need to be reliable. There are times the app turns my phone volume down low-thus pretty much disabling any alarms I have set on my phone. There have also been problems with how I leave the app overnight. Am I supposed to keep it open all night? Can I lock my phone? Will it run in the background? Will other apps interfere with this one? These are things that I've tried to figure out, and still don't actually know the answers. So, this is a good idea, and is helpful, but is not the most reliable-which is too bad since the whole reason we try this app is to find a reliable way to get up on time. Hoping that with time things will get better..Version: 1.2.2

Why does this App have to be the last running App for it to work properly?Mail to "Support" got bounced as a not existing email address for me. I came across this App accidentally and at first it looked like an alarm that would fit my needs very well, adding some interesting features not available in Apple's Clock -> Alarm. 1) Why does this App have to be the last running App for it to work properly? Until now I had not come across any App that requires being the last running App for it to work correctly, and it seems like an odd requirement. The chances for me to have an alarm fail is extremely high with this requirement and is probably a deal breaker. Can you tell me why the App won't just work no matter if I use another App afterwords? I don't understand this. 2) How would any user know some of the ways to control its features? I had to locate your website and read about them. I saw nothing in the app that tells me I can use certain gestures to delete an alarm. That was the final thing for me that made me delete it. I could not figure out how to delete an alarm that I set up for testing. To be fair I am likely not your main demographic since I am a senior. However, I am also not a novice Device/App user and can generally figure things out, but in this case I was unable to and found that frustrating. 3) Why did the App automatically dim my screen to its lowest setting? Again, I saw nothing in the App that indicated this would happen, or why it would happen and perhaps more importantly, have a quick, visible way, such as an onscreen slider perhaps, to reset the dimmed screen to something a User could more easily see. I had to go into my Settings -> Display & Brightness to restore my screen to something that my eyes could see. I occasionally struggle with close up eyesight and had to get close to a bright light so I could see enough to restore the brightness. 4) I was completely unaware about the "footsteps and picture" feature to turn an alarm off until I looked on your website. It is quite possible some of these guides are in the App and I just could not find them, or properly understand the minimal pointers If that is the case please tell where I would find any sort of guide within the App itself. Also, many younger people might automatically think of gestures and find the solutions very quickly, however, I suspect many people do not. I think the addition of something like a quick tutorial to swipe through when the App is first opened would be a terrific addition. Back to my first point though, is there any way to remove, or otherwise avoid this App having to be the last run App for it to work correctly? The risk of missing alarms due to this requirement makes it much less useful as a powerful alarm clock I would want to switch to. As well, the only way I knew about the requirement for this to be the last run App for the alarm to work was when I eventually went to your website..Version: 2.0.2

Looks ok so farI like the colours. I like the idea of it. By choosing a different colour theme it made me write a review to have access to it. Haven’t used the alarm yet..Version: 2.1.4

Not bad....I do wish the app wouldn't ask you as to whether or not you're awake because usually I'm not. The app does a good job of forcing you to actually get up and take stabs and take pictures of where you're supposed to go after you wake up. I do wish there was a way to override the lock setting because I don't hear the little notifications that it sends me when my phone is locked. It is a wonderful idea but it needs to be refined a little. I should not be awake enough to unlock my iPhone before it actually starts going off. That's just ridiculous. If the developers made it so that the alarm started going off while the phone was locked, the app would be ten times better. For now I'm keeping my phone plugged in and unlocked so I can hear the alarms..Version: 1.2.2

DisappointedI bought this app yesterday and I’m already disappointed. As an expert snoozer, all I had to do when the alarm went off this morning was silence my iPhone and the alarm stopped playing. It wasn’t even playing the music that I had to set as my alarm... I had to go onto the app for that music to start playing. It’s stupid that the app is designed to only work when your phone is unlocked - obviously your phone is going to be locked after you were sleeping for a night. Also, why aren’t there any instructions on how this app works? I set the app to allow me to snooze for 10 minutes, but I have no idea how many times I’m allowed to snooze because there are no directions and no indications within the app. It’s not very user friendly. I think the only reason I got out of bed was the excitement of knowing I was using the app for the first time..Version: 2.1.4

Is it compatible? It says it is not compatible with my current iOS.Version: 1.2.2

Great idea. But needs some debuggingI have used this app for a while. And it forces you to wake up if you don’t want your wife kicking you out of bed. Just keep the snooze option off. That said, it does behave randomly. Some times when you tap on the notification, instead of making you walk the 20 steps, the alarm just gets silenced, and picks up again after a few seconds, only to be silenced again when you open the app to start the step counter. This repeats again. I have had to delete the app and reinstall it to correct this. When it does work properly, it’s really good, for serial snoozers like me..Version: 2.2

And it's forcing me to write a review...I downloaded this app about a minute ago, opened it and found that it's so desperate for my approval that it REQUIRES my opinion of it just to change a background. I haven't used it yet but I wanna change the background so I'll give it a go. Still haven't used it.... I can neither confirm nor deny my enjoyment/appreciation of this app at this time. Now I know 3 starts would technically be fair but I feel that if I did that then the developer wouldn't learn anything. Like say... Giving me a few days then asking for a review. I mean, I'll change the review to reflect its usefulness once I've actually used it... Maybe. You're looking at a guy that needs this much help just to get out of bed in the morning. What do you think the odds are of me revisiting this review? Probably pretty close to the number of times I've actually used the app the review is based on in the first place. Sleep tight..Version: 1.2.2

Unwanted snoozeThe whole point of this app (I thought) is to make you actually get out of bed when the alarm goes unless you specifically decided beforehand that you want to use the snooze function. Knowing what I am like with the snooze function, I bought this app in the hope it would make me get out of bed and wake me up enough to realise consciously that I wanted to be out of bed and could get on with my morning. This worked perfectly for two weeks until my subconscious mind worked out that by just pressing any button (despite having the snooze function turned off) it snoozed for a while. One hour later and my subconscious wins again. Please fix this bug and let me utilise the whole point of this app ie you have to get out of bed to stop the alarm! A simple button press should not do this. Thanks.Version: 1.2.2

Allows you to turn it downAllows you to turn it down or close the app by swiping up. Great idea though having to take a picture of a different room. If the issues mentioned could be fixed this would be great.Version: 2.2

Not impressedAs a business professional, I never take my iPhone off vibrate. I don't have an issue with waking up to go to work. The purpose of this app was to help me get out of bed to exercise in the morning (instead of after work when I tend to be "too tired"). I'm confused why the Devs would make it so it just sends you notifications (when phone is set to vibrate) instead of goes off as an alarm. The iPhone alarm that comes standard with the phone doesn't have a problem with going off when my phone is still set on vibrate. Even then I had the alarm set this morning for 6am and the phone set to normal (not on vibrate only) and it didn't go off until 8:25am. Maybe something I did triggered it. But I woke up as usual at 7am no problem. Please fix. I'm happy with the walking sensitivity. If it worked the $2 is worth it. But clearly still a lot of issues..Version: 1.2.2

I cant turn music off and no supportCreated first alarm. BIG mistake. I gave access to my music library chose a song and now it wont stop playing music even after deleting created alarm. I tried to contact support and the domain is suspended. I should have known better that free apps with no subscription are going to play up on you..Version: 2.1.4

Broke afSimply doesn't work. At all. Tried playing with this app to get it set up and found: Trying to select your own song makes the alarm not work. Trying to use photo recognition makes the alarm not work. And then - to top it all off - the app started glitching out, requesting that I take 20 steps EVERY 2 MINUTES - . . .including while I was trying to send an error report detailing these glitches. Had to delete it from my phone because the 20 steps every 2 minutes wouldn't stop. Complete waste of $3.00. Don't bother downloading..Version: 1.2.2

It’s been 4 days and the alarm has not gone off onceLuckily I’ve been setting up a back up alarm, but tonight will be the last time I try. I want this to work because I like the idea.Version: 2.2

Good but easily turned off!The concept of this is great - forces you out of bed and on your feet. However, the fact you can turn it off simply by putting your phone on silent means it's very easy to cheat. It would be better if this override wasn't available. Now I know I can override it I know at some point this is what I'll do, so it's somewhat of a waste of money..Version: 1.2.2

Good but...Few flaws, I wish you could combine with “Alarmy” it’s more ruthless. You can’t turn off the sounds or turn down the volume on alarmy because it turns it back up. So if you did that and made the walking harder to achieve or did more steps than 20 it’d be perfect. Right now I can slowly move my arm around and it’ll turn off. Or I can just turn down the volume....Version: 2.1.3

Does not work properlyI had high hopes for this alarm but was quite disappointed. Figuring out how to use it was very difficult. But even once I figured it out, the way it works makes no sense. If the alarm goes off while the phone is locked, which will almost certainly happen because you're asleep when it goes off, as soon as you unlock it, the alarm goes into snooze mode. The message that pops up telling you it's in snooze mode only has one button, "I'm awake," which defeats the purpose of having an app that forces you to move to prove you're awake. If you can manage to keep the alarm going and get to the screen where it counts your steps, you have to hit a button for no apparent reason before it will actually start counting. And it doesn't count your steps, it just counts down a timer as long as you are walking. It also cycles the volume from low to high over and over. Absolutely terribly experience. This is the first app I've ever regretted buying..Version: 1.2.2

TerribleThis app is extremely poorly designed. It doesn’t sound an alarm if your phone is on silent or do not disturb mode and even when it isn’t on those modes you have to open the app for it to go off. I even changed the notification settings which didn’t help.I set it for the first time and slept through the alarm and was late for work thanks to this poorly designed mess..Version: 2.2

MehWhy does it play an alarm and then my song... Also, are alarms getting muted without my help....Version: 2.1.3

No volume controlDid I miss the function where you can adjust the volume. The alarm doesn't give me a chance to get out of bed. As soon as I pick up the phone the volume rockets to full waking up my house mate. There's no need for it to be so loud..Version: 1.2.2

Disappointed with this app its not worth the moneyIts not what i was expecting to see. The features in the advertisement were different from the real app e.g the alarm forcing you to take pictures and also you can cheat on the app by shaking your hand it will think you are walking. I believe there is a room for improvement and I believe the intentions were good . I hope you take this critique as something you need to work on.Version: 1.2.2

Couple of bugs from perfectionIf you hold the mute button provided on the app and hold/ slide your finger away, it will just stay silent until the lock screen, a handy snooze I thought as it only lasts about 30 seconds but now for some reason the screen never locks automatically in app so I just fell back to sleep with the app on and silent, if it could just take out any mute options this would be perfect, and only mute in camera or step mode so I don't wake up the whole house just by walking down the stairs lol.Version: 1.2.2

I hate this appIt's not what is advertised. First, it didn't go off. I luckily had set another alarm just in case and got up in time to start my day. Over an hour later in the car, I opened it to see if I'd missed something, and it started going off and wouldn't stop (which it's supposed to do). The thing is that it doesn't "count your steps." It arbitrarily counts down and took over a minute to shut up, all while making this stupid sound at top volume on the street. I don't know anyone who takes over a minute to walk 30 steps except maybe toddlers, who don't hold truck with cell phones. So, if the app does indeed need to be open all night (and probably burn up a bunch of data while it is), the darn thing should actually have real instructions OR not go off the second you open it when the alarm should have started an hour beforehand OR actually have an accurate way of counting your steps. It should also have a "save" option when setting the alarm--it took me several minutes to figure out that the only way to save is to hit "cancel" so that a dialog box comes up that asks if you want to save...and that's just stupid. To sum it up: I hate this app and wish I hadn't wasted my money on it..Version: 1.2.2

Very badly designedEven writing a review is terrible & it just crashed on me! Good potential but badly designed and ugly. App often thinks I am cheating the sensors when I am not. It defaults at extremely loud alarm sound which is bad when you forget & it repeats & you have flat mates..Version: 1.2.2

Mandatory ReviewI cannot yet review this app. I must review as a condition to use a certain theme. This does not seem appropriate to me, maybe worth fixing as a big issue to ask after the app has been used at least one day?.Version: 2.2

This App Needs WorkThis app is a fantastic concept - by far the most effective alarm clock for those that struggle to get out of bed. But the app needs work. I can't trust that it will work every single time. For example. Even if the alarm says it's set for '6am tomorrow', on many occasions I have experienced it either not sounding at all that morning, or it only sounding once I've unlocked my phone (pointless), and it's even sounded at completely the wrong time - says 7am instead of 6am. An alarm has to be reliable in order for it to be effective. This app is just not there. It needs work and the makers must know that. Once these issues are resolved, I'll happily change my review to 5 stars. But until then, it's just a 5 star idea, with 1 star functionality. I hope they fix it..Version: 1.2.2

It has helped me a lotUpdate: This app won’t work with the new iOS update!!! 😭 I have depended on this app for years to wake me up because nothing else works. Please update it! — I've been using this app for a year or two and it's pretty much the only thing that works to get me out of bed in the morning. I'm a really deep sleeper and with any other kind of alarm I tend to turn it off in my sleep without realizing and then wake up hours late. I do think it could be a bit simpler and more user friendly. The way it's currently set up, how you set the alarm time, delete alarms, etc... I don't think is very intuitive. I also would like some more alarm options as the same ones have been on there for years and are pretty miserable alarms to listen to. Oh, and this is a big downside of this app: it CANNOT be on silent if you want it to wake you up with sound in the morning. I can't explain what a pain this is because I've had to change my text tone so it doesn't ever make a sound. And if I get a call in the middle of the night... Of course it goes off and wakes up my boyfriend and (maybe) me too. That really should be changed so it can go off when it's on vibrate just like the regular Apple alarm..Version: 1.2.2

Great app but not working properlyI was excited to try this app as I always struggle to wake up in the morning and get out of bed. However I've found that the alarm won't actually go off unless my phone is unlocked and the app open, which is a waste of battery to leave it like that overnight. Another thing I've found is it will send a notification but no sound to actually wake me and will automatically snooze even though I had disabled the snooze option. Would be such a great app if this was fixed.Version: 1.2.2

BackgroundI haven't tried it I just want a different background lol.Version: 1.2.1

GreatThe app does what it says, and really does get me out of bed- no easy feat some days. There should be room for more than 8 alarms, as a shift worker this would be really helpful. I also disapprove of holding features to ransom in a paid app to force users to write a review..Version: 1.2.2

Works great when it works rightWhen it works as I planned it to, it's brilliant, but it has gone off at wrong times multiple times. Setting an alarm seems strangely complex. I've not had difficulty like this with any other app. Once I've figured out how to work its settings properly it'll be really great..Version: 1.2.2

First time. I haven’t used it yet. I’ll let ya know!! 😊.Version: 2.1.4

Haven’t used it yetHopefully it’s good!.Version: 2.2

Great idea yet to be perfectedGreat idea yet to be perfected. "No snooze" option doesn't yet work; I can still snooze as many times as I like. It'll be great when they manage to override the mute setting. Otherwise, the program seems to run well..Version: 1.2.2

Filthy slopsI am forced to submit a review in order to enable particular features, even though I have paid for the app. It also isn't very well designed and not worth the price..Version: 1.2.2

App bugged out!!!Used this app for a year and this morning had the app bug out and come on at 5:30am even though I hadn't set it up to come on. Walked 20paces until it said deactivated and alarm stopped. Then it started again 20seconds later. This happened 10 times until i had to delete the app to stop the alarm!!!.Version: 1.2.2

GOOD!! But could be better...I'll start out by saying I have a snooze addiction. Before this app, I'd have to set my alarm a good 45 min (or more) before I had to get out of bed because I would snooze my alarm 4-5-6-7-or more times!! No joke. I like my sleep and don't like to get out of bed. This app has cured that! I use the photo feature and it works great!! Every morning to shut my alarm off, I have to go out to my living room and take a picture of my bookshelf. It FORCES me to get out of bed! I still use my phone's alarm on the occasion I can afford to snooze multiple times, but my average work day, this is what wakes me. It's really good, but not perfect. I'll echo a few other reviews by saying it's easy to silence. I have to check my sound settings every night. There have been mornings where I've not woken up in time because I forgot it on silent and it was sending a notification and vibrating a short burst every 10 seconds. Not particularly helpful. Like another reviewer, I would also like the first alarm to be able to be my custom music. Please fix! Right now, it wakes you up with some built in ring tone, then you either snooze (just once), or tap "I'm awake"... THEN your custom music kicks in. It works, but not my favorite. Despite my negative comments, I would still recommend this app! It's great if you're someone like me who has trouble forcing yourself to get out of bed!.Version: 1.2.2

Somebody fix this problem! As soon as I close out of the app it doesn’t work.... the app needs to be open in the background, I’ve sleepily picked up my phone and closed the app and that ends the alarm instead of getting up!.Version: 2.1.2

Doesn't workToo easy to get around: double tap home button, swipe up on the running app to close it and then lock the screen..Version: 1.2.2

Really not the best. The clock to set the alarm is kind of silly and impractical. I’m putting my alarm before going to bed therefore tired. The last thing I want to do is draw stupid lines on my phone to put the time. Seriously it’s a very important detail. Plus you’re supposed to walk but if you tap a lot on the button it counts it as a step. So you don’t really get up. Basically I tried this one out of curiosity and I’m going back to the other alarm app. I do like the music selection though..Version: 2.1.3

NewDoesn’t work if phone is on mute - doesn’t work if the app isn’t open - operates under very specific conditions- kinda useless- don’t waste ur money !.Version: 2.2

Awful user experience, terribly buggyThe UI is all over the place. Some buttons don't work sometimes, other gestures do weird undocumented things. The "start walking" button don't need to exist at all, I just kept forgetting to press it. Photo recognition is extremely easy to fool/bypass - and difficult to use compared to e.g. Alarmy's implementation of the same feature. And 10 steps is the lowest setting? That seems like a lot when you live in a relatively small apartment. Nothing personal, but some good ideas executed very poorly. I am in no way affiliated with Alarmy, it's just the one other 3rd party alarm app I've tried so far, and it's basically what this app should have been. Can I please get a refund?.Version: 1.2.2

It’s okI love when it works but sometimes it malfunctions and doesn’t go off or doesn’t make me walk. So I need to have back up alarms just in case..Version: 2.1.4

No sound now!Upgraded and now the alarm is not making any sound when it’s supposed to go off. I think it may be related to the phone being locked. It’s a pity it’s buggy as it’s a great idea and I did love using it. Could one of the developers let us know how to fix the issue ?.Version: 2.0.2

Great clockThis is a beautiful clock with great features.Version: 1.2.2

Needs improvementTutorial is too short and incomplete so I could not work out how to start counting steps without a great deal of trial and error. I was told I must write a review to access all features despite having paid for the app, and I cannot get rid of notification badges or find out what they are for. Does the job though.Version: 1.2.2

Make sure your phone's not on silent! The concept here is fantastic, but the apps design is a bit clunky and leaves a lot to be desired. For example, when your phone is on silent, the alarm will not sound (unlike the apple alarm and other alarm apps) so if you try to get a good nights sleep, you may never be woken by this app at your desired time!!.Version: 1.2.2

When it works, it works...The core features of this app are great and have really helped me develop better habits of waking up. Forcing me to walk around or think through taking a picture makes it much easier to resist getting back in bed or hitting snooze. However, this app feels extremely glitchy/touchy. You have to remember to: hit all the right check marks to set the alarm, make sure the notification flag for the app is on, turn your phone on loud or it won't work, make sure this app is open and active all night, etc... And even then I still wake up an hour after the alarm is set every few days only to hear it sending quiet text notifications. There are no instructions on using the confusing format, so expect some trial and error. I have to use along with a regular alarm to be safe, in which case I have to voluntarily choose to open this app for it to go off..Version: 1.2.2

Great idea but kinda buggySo I'm one of those people who turns off my own alarm when it goes off in the morning without even waking up enough to realize I did that. I'm constantly late to everything because of this which was getting me in trouble now that I've started college. This alarm has a great concept of either forcing you to take a certain amount of steps out of bed or taking a picture of something in your house to turn the alarm off. However it has some bugs. Like it won't play your personal music when it first goes off. It only plays it after you unlock your phone and open the app. Also if your phone is on silent it only vibrates to wake you up. Which wouldn't be a huge problem but even when I made sure my phone wasn't on silent, it still only vibrated. Not sure if maybe it happened because I didn't leave the app open? Still definitely some things need to be fixed..Version: 1.2.2

Forced to reviewCan't change background unless I review the alarm that I haven't used. Pretty annoying since I paid for it. I should be able to review after using the alarm for a few weeks. Seems pretty good though hence 3 stars..Version: 1.2.2

Avoid 💩Something is very wrong with the app. It has woken me up at 6am, even though I have only one alarm set for 8am. Not only that, but when I successfully did my 30 steps to shut it off, the alarm rang out again straight away. I repeated the process two more times before deleting this thing so I could just go back to bed and wait until my real wake up time of 8am..Version: 1.2.2

Good app, needs some improvementsI really like this app when I use it. It absolutely gets me out of bed so I can get my day started and be up on time. As other users have mentioned though, recently there seems to be some functionality changes that have enabled a couple of loopholes to the alarms. Which yes, it's still our responsibility to not take advantage of them, but let's be honest - if we could do that we wouldn't be in need of this app to get us out of bed. The app also needs to be updated for iOS 11. I've been getting that notification since the last iOS release that the app wasn't updated for, so now I believe it's at least two releases behind. Perhaps that's related to the functionality changes / loopholes? Not sure..Version: 1.2.2

20% Chance of Actually WorkingLike a few other reviewers, I have had problems with the alarm ever going off. I have left the app open and active, kept my phone off silent, and do not use Do Not Disturb. Just this morning, after the alarm was supposed to wake me, I unlocked my phone, double tapped the home button to see all my open apps and there it was, sandwiched between an open Chrome browser and Facebook, the clock displaying "9:51 pm". I tapped it and THEN it displayed the notification that it was snoozing, but am I awake? Because then it will actually work as intended. So, I tell it I'm awake and do the walking in circles thing and it turns off. I sent an email to the provided support address explaining by problem. It came back as undeliverable because the address doesn't exist. I'm guessing that since this hasn't been updated since 2014, I'd best move on, find myself another app to help me with my snoozing addiction. Sad..Version: 1.2.2

UnsureUnsure how I feel about app, as it’s asked me to review it before I actually used it. May re-evaluate after actually using it..Version: 2.2

ScamThis app doesn't work. The alarm never goes off. I've even tried to email the support team and the email just bounces. Don't waste your money on an app that doesn't even work..Version: 1.2.2

Worst App In the History of AppsHands down the worst app I have ever used in the 10 years I’ve been using apple. Never hated an app enough to write a review, either. Out of the 7 days I’ve used it, the alarm has only successfully worked once - and even then it didn’t make me take 30 steps. Right now, as I type this review, it’s glitching and has been sending me a notification saying “hey, it’s time, please wake up!” approximately every fifteen seconds. This has been happening for 20 minutes and I can’t make it stop. Honestly, if you’re thinking about downloading this app I want you to know it’s about as useful as a blow to the head..Version: 2.2

Good app, needs workGreat idea for an app though I find myself turning my phone on silent and that cancels out the sound alert which means the app then doesn't wake me again, meaning I sleep in and am late for college most days! If it could be where that the app would play the sound alert at full volume even when the phones on silent then that'd make it's a 5 star buy.Version: 1.2.2

Worth the couple of bucksGreat concept not 100% reliable yet even when my phone is not on silent and have the ringer as loud as possible it doesn't always go off, I still have other alarms set incase it doesn't work, but when it does its makes getting out of bed without a snooze a whole lot easier...Version: 1.2.2

BuggyI originally gave this 5 stars but since I updated to iOS 10.1 and beyond the app no longer functions correctly. For some reason it doesn't go off when you want it to and when you open the app to find out why you end up strolling around the room as it decides to wake up and set the alarm off. I haven't been able to use it since these issues have occurred please release an update!.Version: 1.2.2

Hmm..Not happy that I have to submit a review in order to enable certain features. Understandable if it was free, but I've paid for this..Version: 1.2.2

This app is not goodThis app forces you to review there application in order to use features, i still use it but it gets really annoying.Version: 2.1.4

Redefine sensors - applicable to 3GS?I've only tried out the step counter alarm, but as of now, my impression of the app is, at best, a waste of time. no matter how many steps I take with AND without my phone (where I literally went downstairs twice and circled around my house), the alarm won't shut off. When walking downstairs without my phone doesn't shut it off, I brought it with me; I angled my phone so the back camera can see me taking those steps, I placed my phone in my pocket and walked another 50 steps---and I even tried to stop the app from running in the background, but to no avail. In the end I had to remove the app to shut the alarm off. Overall, it's definite that this app WILL wake you up (because you won't be able to turn it off or stop the app from running --- at least in my case) but perhaps it is better for the developers to redefine whether those that have only back cameras (3GS, specifically) and smaller sensors are applicable to the 'state of the art' sensors they so proudly talked about in the description..Version: 1.2.2

Easy to silence & stay asleepPut quite simply a determined sleeper will find multiple ways to turn this off, Such as silencing your phone or turning the volume down, extremely simple ways which makes me think the developer hasn’t even tried to make this work properly, I have already found multiple other apps that make it impossible for you to override and force you to wake up. Also you can’t simply type the time you want to wake up in, the developer has tried to be too clever and it’s actually incredibly frustrating to add a wake up time..Version: 2.1.2

Didn't go off? But I still have to review??I just got this app yesterday after a coworker told me how much she liked it. I paid actual money for an app, which I never do, but figured it'd be worth it because of how much she talked it up. I set it up last night and it didn't go off, or if it did I didn't hear it. (It was right next to my head, so if I didn't hear it then it is way too quiet of an alarm.) Thankfully I didn't turn off my regular phone alarms or I might've overslept by a lot and been late for work. Normally I would try it out for a few days before reviewing, but it made me write a review before changing the background color. I'm fine with apps asking you to pay before using an unnecessary feature, but asking me to review after only one day of having the app? Well here you go Step Out! developers, here's a one star review. This app needs clearer instructions that are readable after the first use, and an alarm that actually goes off. Then maybe it will meet expectations. As of right now, I regret wasting my money on this..Version: 1.2.2

Want my money back! This app does not work! This morning, the app went off and I was somehow able to silence it without doing anything. I have no idea what I pushed cuz I was half asleep of course (maybe the home button), but I was not taken anywhere where I would have to walk around or anything. This app is a waste of money. I’ve never paid for an app before and this was NOT worth the $2. It’s also very quiet, so I set the regular Iphone alarm app for a minute before so I can actually wake up. Also once I was trying to set the alarm (I was choosing which sound I wanted) and it just wouldn’t stop making the alarm sounds. It’s frustrating that this app is so unreliable because that’s the whole point of an alarm. The interface is also confusing. And you have to push certain buttons which are stupid to begin your walking or to set the alarm. But there’s no words or instructions to help you understand how to use the app. I saw that there were bad reviews like this before and bought it anyway thinking the bugs would have been fixed cuz the reviews were YEARS old. Nope! It’s STILL a garbage App! They get one star for trying to make an good app..Version: 2.1.3

Could use some workThe notification bubble on the app when you have an alarm active is annoying and the alarm is not persistent enough, and you can trick the sensors. It's not even remotely 'uncheatable'.Version: 1.2.2

Bad AppThis App doesn't work and isn't worth the money. Firstly you can just double click the home button and shut the app and it will cancel the alarm. Secondly the alarm barely goes off in the first place. The first time I tried it I cancelled the app and the second and third time the alarm didn't even go off. The interface is extremely difficult to use and isn't user friendly. This app has a lot of work and bugs to fix before I bother to even think of using it again. Shocking.Version: 1.2.2

Alarm won't go off when phone is lockedAlarms are not going off when the phone is locked :( app has a lot of potential. Hope this is fixed :) then it deserves 5 stars.Version: 1.2.2

Almost worked...This app was great for a week or two. It definitely got me out of bed more than any other alarm had, limiting myself to a max of 3 one minute snoozes and the photo requirement, I was up and on with my day and I felt good... Then the snooze devil worked out that if you double click the home button and swipe up to close the app it stops. It might not always initially but the second time you do it, it stops. The snooze devil wins again and I'm back to being late for work and stressed. Can this app be changed to override EVERYTHING?! All shut offs, silent buttons, snooze settings? I need to get the snooze devil off my shoulder!!!.Version: 1.2.2

Lost confidence, no support, no update in 2 yearsI thought this app was great because of the reviews so bought it this week. Was going great then it has failed a couple times making me lose confidence in it. I should have checked the last time the app was updated since its been almost 2 years. The alarm has failed a couple times to go off for no reason. Sound on and DND off but still it didn't go off. I thought it was going great but anytime I test an alarm app, I keep apples built in alarms for a while just in case. Glad I did. Tried contacting support through the in-app email address (support@) then through their website (contact@). Both of them were rejected that the user doesn't exist so guess their support is completely dead. Gonna contact apple for a refund and about the bad emails..Version: 1.2.2

Wake me up...everyday please.I love this app and it id great at forcing me out of bed; however, I have to make sure I have backup alarms set as sometimes it simply does not go off. Sometimes it goes to the alarm screen but makes no sound, other times if I get a notification the app shuts off. Setting the alarm is not very user friendly so no efforts I make in the settings resolve this problem. Would love an update with these issues sorted..Version: 1.2.2

Currently trying it outI’m trying out the app, I know for it to work you need to keep it the app open, it’s hard to say if it’s good or not, but I tried playing with the settings and still nothing that amazes me, hopefully is not a waste of money.Version: 2.2

Needs improvementI was an early adopter of this app, then deleted it because of problems with operates, and then eventually reinstalled it. I like the idea of having alarms that require you to get out of bed and be in a certain location, but the snooze function doesn't help to get you up and out of bed sufficiently. For example, if your phone is on, then alarms only show up as three-note pop up notifications, rather than an actual alarm—it's only when you actually address the pop ups that the alarm sound activates. I have taken to using this product's in conjunction with standard alarms, that the standard alarms will be loud enough for me to hear, but that this will cause me to have to get out of bed. But I can tell you right now that the first alarm that I have set up was able to be snooze or ignored long enough that by the time I actually got up to take a photo, the second alarm was ready to go off..Version: 1.2.2

Annoyingly perfectThis is the most annoying app... It's prefect 😜 *half awake zombie* Just be careful to turn the volume down when you set the app or you'll be wandering around your house half asleep with your phone screaming at you..Version: 1.2.2

Had to review to use all free featuresHad to review to use all free features.Version: 2.2

Despite reviewsDespite all the positive reviews, I never got this app to work properly, even once. I made sure my phone wasn’t on silent, the the setting were correct with the volume up, and that the app was always open, but still never woke me up once. It would just vibrate for hours whilst I slept in instead of getting ready for work..Version: 2.2

Haven’t used yet.Haven’t used yet..Version: 2.2

Not loud enoughThe alarm on this thing is not loud enough. Also don't love the background/user interface and can't figure out how to add another alarm when one is already set. Other than that it's effective and does what it says.Version: 1.2.2

Love it already! **Updated****Update- Dropped from 5 to 3 stars. I did love this app, but now it lets me snooze over and over no matter what the settings are. I wake up with the phone on the pillow next to me and I've been snoozing it (for 1 hr 45 mins this morning) :( Something has changed** This is only my first day to use it, but I love it already. I normally hit the snooze button for up to 2 hours with having to get up to my dresser and just can't get up. I'm awake first thing today. I used the option to take a photo of my coffee maker out in the kitchen. Because the big light was on for the original pic, my little light was not enough for a matching picture, so by the time I walked out there and had to retake the pic with the big light on, I was awake. And I set the coffee maker to auto, so I filled my cup with the fresh brewed coffee while I was there. This is a great idea for an app. The only draw back is no instructions with it, but I googled instructions for the app and found a pretty good overall review that told how to use it. Make sure you go in to the main app options as well as the ones to set alarms. And you can disable preset alarms if you are off schedule. Just swipe down on the set time and it will change to disabled or back to enabled. And you can set multiple ones, more than just the three at the bottom. Happy waking!.Version: 1.2.2

Got me upOnly used once so far but doesn't seem to have volume control (or maybe I just missed that part as tutorial was so quick). I don't need a really loud alarm just one that I can't keep snoozing. The volume of this alarm means it's unfair on others in my house that don't have to wake up at 4am. I will play a bit more to see if I can find a way to adjust volume but if I can't I won't be able to use this app :-(. Shame as it did get me up..Version: 1.2.2

New userNot what I thought it out to be, the idea is great I hope they make some improvements and I will use this everyday for the rest of my life!! Don't find alarms to be loud enough Evan with the volume turned up, and the step counter is shocking I have it set for 20 and think it takes me 40 steps to get it to disarm the alarm, if that could be improved Even so I can run through my house in the morning and capture the steps would be great, most exercise apps have a step tracker so add it to this Hope they make some small improvements and make it worth the $2.00 I payed.Version: 1.2.2
