The Walk: Fitness Tracker Game for Positive User Reviews

Potential plusI am a huge zombies run fan and got this app without question. Not quite up to Zombies standard but I still enjoy it..Version: 1.2

Fun and motivatingI walk a lot more now :).Version: 1.2

IT IS SO GOOD!Six to start, they never fail to impress by integrating fitness and fun!.Version: 1.0.1

Super cool! It's a really neat premise, and it works pretty well. (I have gone for longer walks just to finish chapters). I don't think the challenges work very well as they force you to wait a full 24 hours until you can progress the story again. It's a very good application none the less, well worth the price..Version: 1.2

This is one of my favorite appsThis app got me to park farther away in the parking lot, always take the stairs, and generally do whatever I could to walk a bit farther in my normal habits. The app isn’t perfect but the story is so great I can’t rate it anything less than 5 stars. I just wish there was another season!.Version: 1.3

Current version too buggyI played through The Walk once before about 2 years ago, and I would have easily given it 5 stars then. I had no problems with it aside from wishing that it would somehow be integrated with zombieslink or something online. But now, it is consistently refusing to track my minutes, even if I make sure it is at the forefront of my apps when I start walking. Some days it does fine. But too many days, like today, I'll go for a 30 minute walk and it doesn't count a single minute of it, but it pulls my steps from my pedometer. So now t is telling me that I walked over 3700 steps in 3 minutes. PLEASE fix this! I'm trying to convince some work friends to get this and do it with me, but I don't want to advocate for a broken app!!.Version: 1.3

Great way to keep activeAnd a great storyline to follow....Version: 1.2

Awesome! The story is so captivating! I find myself eager to walk more every day!.Version: 1.1

The WalkWhat a awesome idea. Gotta walk so this is a great story telling adventure..Version: 1.2

Mrs GGreat little app - I actually want to go for a walk just do I can see how the story will progress. Great motivator to get you off the couch & walking.Version: 1.2

Engaging storyA very fun app, it really motivates me to get out of the office and go for a lunchtime walk so I can find out what happens next in the story -and get some fresh air. I also alternate it with Zombies, Run! in the mornings..Version: 1.2

Saved my lifeThis was the app several years ago that started it all for me, motivated me to start walking after I got a prediabetes diagnosis. I’d never been able to stick with a walking plan for any length of time until The Walk. The story line was intriguing and the voice actors did an excellent job to move the story along. Great and unexpected ending, too. I was totally surprised. I wish this app company or another would come up with another story. I bought Zombies Run but it wasn’t as interesting for me..Version: 2.0.3

Highly recommended!Great nonthreatening app for any fitness level. Adds some intrigue to solo walking. If you are an inactive person looking for an easy start on getting active this is fantastic. The story is engaging with touches of mystery, wry humour and even some touching character development. Game play is simple and easy to understand. The difficulty level is adaptive and will adjust to challenge you as you go through the levels. I recommend this app to anyone wanting to add some interest or motivation to walking, be it for exercise, or commuting or whatever. It will also work while jogging or on a treadmill. For those looking for a beginning fitness app it's an easier start than jumping straight into the more daunting Zombies Run, and a good way to get active and start to build up to jogging or running even if you are completely sedentary. Excellent app..Version: 1.2

And I will walk 500 milesI downloaded this as I walk to work and thought I'd be up for a challenge. I'm not sure the game fully exploits they urge of the human psyche to find out more but I'm loving the idea of a story unfolding as we walk. I'd like it to be a little more interactive, maybe a puzzle or two. An easy app to get around. It really does make you walk more. I need to my phone in my pocket all the time as I know I'm more active than the app says..Version: 1.1

I love itGreat motivation! I love it!!!.Version: 1.2

Excellent all over.Great production, great story, great app. Really impressive..Version: 1.1

FantasticThis is a great way to entertain and motivate yourself into being active. I've played the first 8 missions and the only glitch I've found is that it lags if I keep it open in the background for several hours. However, closing and restarting it brings it right back with no loss of my activity..Version: 1.3

Great app but...This is actually a great app - really engaging ... but please make the audio play automatically as you reach the next story points .... that’s my only criticism.Version: 2.6.2

Another smash hit! :DI don't want this to sound biased so I'm trying to write this objectively but I can't find any problems with it at all! I'm not a fitness freak and lack motivation a lot of the time to carry on. The great thing about Zombies Run!!!! and now The Walk is that as you're getting around there's an awesome story and things to do so it makes you want to go out and exercise so that you can get the next part of the story. I won't spoil any of that part for you but all I can say once more is how great it is and you should really give it a go :).Version: 1.0.1

Music in appGreat idea but such a shame it does not work like the Zombie run which is part of the package I purchased. I have to stop and look at the screen to listen to the commentary. Where as the Zombie run automatically plays as you go along. This is a great motivational app to keep going to see what happens next in the story. Wondering if when you do upgrades you could code it like Zombie Run with the automatic commentary overriding my music?.Version: 2.6.3

Love the storylineStill needs improvement in step count but I love the storyline and the concept. Very motivating..Version: 1.1

Really motivatedI'm recovering from a chronic illness, and this app is really helping me stay motivated, without overwhelming me I love that you can pace your self through the day..Version: 1.3

Good but...Good but I need to touch the app to collect clue and scanning for information, etc. You must have the iPhone, iPad or iPod in your hands all the time to interact with the app... is winter here... In the app description said 'put in your pocket or purse' ????.Version: 1.0.1

So much fun!Really plugs into your imagination. The audio is incredible, storyline is addictive and it's all so easy..Version: 1.2

Fun game, battery drainThe walk is a fun game that will more than motivate you to get off your couch. The voice acting is decent and the story is exciting enough to keep you entertained. On a technical level, there's bound to be visible battery drain on any app that uses GPS as often as the walk does. As a 5S owner, it's nice that the app apparently makes use of the M7, but wouldn't it make more sense to allow the 5S to simply not use the GPS at all and rely solely on the M7 step data? Either way, if you're used to running and walking apps the battery drain won't be a hurdle for you to get passed..Version: 1.0.1

Makes exercise fun. This is a very motivating app. I'm going on longer walks and more frequently. The story is engaging and I enjoy the extra rewards for making the paths longer. Best if all is that the story will last as long as it takes to form a habit, very effective. Some things that need further attention: * the ap eats my iPhone 4 battery power even with tracking and location accuracy turned off * there are no rewards for including all birds etc in the path on 24hr challenges. In this ap a reward should be further information about the story. These days are more boring as I get nothing for a good 80 mins of walking. * it's tricky navigating to the screen that tells me whether I've found all the little tidbits in that day's walk. It's easier to find overall but I'm not interested so much in that. I want to be able to touch one icon from that day's screen and see that day's progress immediately. I seem to have to look around for it and find it hard to remember how to navigate to it But overall, a fantastic ap and well worth the spend.Version: 1.2

The WalkSuperbe joint l’utile à l’agréable..Version: 1.0.1

So Far So GoodI tried it today while out walking with my dog. I do have to play a bit with it more to get completely familiarize with it but so far I have not been disappointed. It's a good Winter alternative to ZR (after all ice and zombies are not a good combination at all!).Version: 1.0.1

Makes walking funFun app makes walking more entertaining!.Version: 1.2

Love the story! App can be a little buggy. This app was a great motivator, I bow to the creative genius of Naomi Alderman and Six to Start! There are things I wish were different (automatically playing the audio, not having to be looking at and tapping on my device to find the landscape features so as to be able to keep walking). But the story and concept are amazing and I'm proud to have completed the mission! Highly recommend to folks who need a little extra incentive to get that constitutional walk in..Version: 1.3

Brilliant start, but room for improvementI love this app, it's so engaging and immersive, such a cool concept! I did find that going for a solid walk it was annoying having to change between my music and the app though-- an inbuilt player like for zombies run would be good. Also, online integration with calorie counting etc. would be awesome. Otherwise fantastic though!.Version: 1.2

Fun motivation to walk with only minor flaws.Having come to this app from the developer's "Zombies, Run!" I knew what to expect: an engaging storyline, good voice acting, and motivation to keep on the move so I could continue to hear more. Only real issue is that after it has been running for a while, the app starts to slow down - but a kill and restart has always fixed that with no problems. And in some of the levels, particularly the ones with snow, some of the collectibles you have the click on can be pretty tough to find. But overall a nice app for walkers..Version: 1.3

Great story but buggyI'm currently 6 episodes in and the story is interesting. The idea behind the app of it works in the background whilst you do other things is great, only occasionally opening it up to listen to some story or find collectables. However the game is buggy and sometimes needs you to minimise the app and reopen it for it to work properly. An update hopefully would fix this but there hasn't been one for a while. It also doesn't record how far you have walked, just the time and number of steps. An estimated distance would be nice. If you want to walk, and to slightly increase it The Walk isn't a bad app. It's just not perfect, which is a shame from the creators of Zombies, Run!.Version: 1.3

When's the sequel? The Walk is an amazing app. The story is expertly crafted and well written and constantly made me want to continue walking and find out more of the story. However, there are several negative points to address. The walking for about 10 minutes for about one minute of story seems like a rough deal and many of the episodes seem like padding and don't really add anything to the story at all. Nothing is achieved or discovered until about the final story segment and then the game'll throw another of the infernal "Challenge Modes". Which give you 24 hours to find a large number of certain things that really are not of consequence. However, despite all this, the story and atmosphere overweigh the downsides and I am very excited for the sequel that I dearly hope is in production..Version: 1.2

Love this appMy favourite app. I find myself walking the long way home so I can open more clues..Version: 1.0.2

Great app for mystery loversThis is a great app. Really gets me out if the house to walk so I can hear the next instalments. Keeps me walking longer so I can unlock more audio clips. Just what I needed..Version: 1.2

Haven't had any problemsI have an iPhone 5s, so maybe that effects my experience here, but I've had zero problems with this app. No glitches or overheating my phone or anything. Also, I *like* looking at the phone to scan the landscapes and deciding when I want to hear the parts of the story I've unlocked, both things others have complained about. I think these features allow you to engage in the game, and to use the app any time you're walking and only hear the story when it's convenient for you. The game is easy and it's encouraging and I like it. 😏 I just wish they'd release more stories for walking. I would be perfectly happy to buy them..Version: 1.3

Amazing for incentiveThis app really helps if you don't always have the willpower to keep going - storyline is great too!! One of my fave fitness apps now.Version: 1.3

So happy about this update!!Fantastic game after long awaited, refreshed update. Augmented reality games like The Walk and Zombies, Run! have helped me drop 33 pounds and counting. Another 45 points still left to go, and I look forward to redoing and finishing campaigns while having fun with exercise instead of it being a chore. The voice acting is fantastic. I like that this app allows me to walk indoors during the cold months. Given the obesity epidemic, we desperately need more games like this. Thank you, developers! :).Version: 2.0.2

Support is second to noneI confess I haven’t actually tried any missions yet. I had some issues getting it going due to the permissions required. I’m giving this 5 stars because even if the missions end up being just a brick wall for me to stare at, the email support is utterly superb. Real person (or really damn good Turing Test-blitzing AI), great response time (I assume they’re in a different time zone to me), troubleshooting, requesting screenshots of the problems and working through it step by step, rounding out with a pledge to feed back to the developers to note for future releases. They clearly care about the quality of the app..Version: 2.6.1

Great Game! Definitely Motivating. After the last couple of updates I find that the step count and walk timing is far more accurate. I find myself trying to find ways to get more steps in during the day, like printing to the furthest printer and taking the long way back to my desk after getting a coffee. Great game and I look forward to finding out what happens next in the story..Version: 1.1

Neat app!Though the interface is a little clunky this is a really enjoyable game that encourages activity and doesn't burn through your battery. HA! Burn..Version: 1.0.1

A suggestion for the next updateI completed a 2.20 hr walk and I was a bit annoyed that using this app it didn't have an option for a self playing feature for the audio when you unlock them. Could you also implement a distance walked in feet/miles/time/km. I enjoyed the story so far; I completed the first two on my trip. Intense, and in depth..Version: 2.6.3

Simply Brilliant! What a great concept and story. Loving it so far. The updated version is a nice improvement too!.Version: 2.0.3

Fantastic AppSaw this app as a suggestion in The Metro Newspaper and on the App Store. I like novelty and I like earning things, and having an audiobook style spy thriller is a fantastic low cost way to keep me engaged. I walk for a significant portion of my travel to work each day and on day off I tend to wander so what better way to be rewarded for my everyday habits. With in app medals for: 1. Completing an episode (certain number of minutes of walking) in 24 hours 2. Not remaining still for 3 hours in a single period 3. Viewing and unlocking all the extras and pinpoint extras in the episode. It encourages you to continue to walk. The early episodes are generally 30-40 minutes of walking, I'm currently on Episode 18 and if you take every detour to collect the bonus items it takes 140 minutes to complete. So before you know it, your increasing your exercise amount without even noticing it. Superb. Only thing missing is some form of monetary reward for the medals. 10p for medal 1, 20p for medal 3 and 30p for medal 2, cash out via PayPal/Amazon Vouchers once reached £10 would be good..Version: 1.3

Loved it, wish there were more! This is a set-it-and-leave-it sort of game, which I personally enjoyed. I liked being able to rack up progress and enjoy the story/bonus pieces at my own leisure. Engaging story! Yes, some bits were frustrating: eg the interspersed design your path chapters, and that the random items along the path didn't do anything (as little hints it was a little too subtle). Otherwise, a fun time and really wish they'd do another!.Version: 1.3

Amazing motivational appBrilliant app! Excellently voiced, I really loved all the characters. When is the sequel out? 😬 I’ve walked over 50 hours thanks to this app and dropped two dress sizes. I work in nutrition and will be recommending this to clients 👌.Version: 2.5.4

Captivant et motivantOn veut connaître la suite... Donc on marche encore un peu..Version: 1.2

Loving the story so far :)I'm on episode 6, and so far I'd say it's A pretty good app, time and distance tracker is accurate and the app itself isn't the battery burner I thought it'd be. One con was that the bonus round wasn't as easy to use as the rest of the episodes, I drew the map and walked drew the map and walked, and somehow failed to engage each time. Also going back to get missed items on alternate routes by walking isn't as smooth and easy, it's feels like you have to convince it to do the episode again. But all in all I'm loving it and my dog loves the long walks ever since we upped the length setting for episodes..Version: 1.3

I love the conceptIt makes me want to walk!.Version: 1.2

Awesome14k first walk. Addictive game and dialogue. I'm hoping that it will somehow tie in with Zombies, Run....Version: 1.0.1

Fantastic appI totally LOVE this app!! I walk all week and save up the story and listen to about 45 min at a time. I have currently lost 3 stone with the help from this app. Nothing spurs me one more to walk than when you reach a cliffhanger in the story!! More than once I've had to put on my shoes and head out just to find out what happens. Great app! A big well done and thank you to the creators! I have a lot of weight to loose and you have helped more than you can imagine..Version: 1.2

Loving every minuteThis app has got me moving and I love it. The story is beautifully crafted and the voice actors are pretty darn great. I will be buying any follow ups without a second thought..Version: 1.2

Motivating AND interesting!!This is a great app! I do a lot of walking by habit (don't own a car) - this makes it interesting. I can see I'll go back and replay sections to get 100% finds/complete in a day. I'm really enjoying the story line too. Have been a follower since Perplex City - I'm not disappointed with The Walk! Thanks for taking the time to put it together : ).Version: 1.0.1

Great but could be betterI really like the app and had no tracking problems on my iPhone 5. The story is engaging and it makes me go the extra mile so I can unlock the next chapter. I actually prefer that the audio doesn’t start automatically (as opposed to Zombies Run) so it does not constantly interrupt whatever I am doing. The purpose of the app is to forget about it and let it run in the background. Every time I unlock a new audio segment of the story there is a notification on my locked screen and it is up to me to find some quite time during the day to listen to the story. I agree that it might be a good idea to be able to control music/audiobooks from the app but it is easy to flick back and forth so I don’t have much problem with that. My complaint would be about the stat/progress part of the app. I know that the app is not for fitness freaks who need to count every second of movement but still it would be nice to have a better way of checking how far I have walked each day/week etc. So far I can only see how many minutes (and steps) I walked today and a tiny bar chart that shows roughly how much I have walked in the past seven days but no information about the distance etc. I am also not sure if the app registers any activity if it is under one minute. If every now and again I get up from my desk and walk or run for 50 seconds or so it does not seem to count any of these steps..Version: 1.0.1

A motivator and story, not a trackerI am a huge fan of Zombies Run, and for those of us who are used to that app, this is a different concept. It doesn't track your activity like Zombies Run. This is a story. A story which you can only unlock and listen to once you have walked for a specific length of time. Thus in the morning, I start the episode/chapter I wished to complete, stick it in my pocket, and try and walk enough to complete the challenges and unlock all the story items. During the day, when I have a quiet moment, I may open the app, check my progress for the day, and listen to any story segments I have unlocked. I figured all that out by the end of the first chapter, and to be honest, I wasn't over whelmed with the idea. However, after chapter 2, the story seriously kicks in, and I find myself taking the long route just to see if I can unlock a segment sooner. I just have to know what happens next. I have had no tracking issues. It's even figured out when I'm running..Version: 1.0.1

Excellent Walking appI really enjoy this and it gets me walking to find out what happens next in the story. I would like the option to play the audio clips automatically but this is a minor point. I especially like the throwback touches to Zombies Run - curly wurlys , a sports bra and of course familiar voice actors (Sam Yao 😃)..Version: 2.6.2

Great gameIt has a fantastic plot and wonderful characters, and is a brilliant way to keep yourself distracted while having a long walk. Would be good if there was a continuation to this story, or even a prequel..Version: 2.5.4

GoodFew issues but overall it's good. I didn't like that it kept running in the background, therefore a drive to the mall had me finishing the section without walking. Need to be able to pause it..Version: 1.0.1

Love itWhat a great way to get people walking. I tend to take one really long walk/hike to get all of the episode done in one go, but you can do it throughout the day. The story is interesting and really makes you want to get to the end. I would recommend doing the whole walk before listen to the sound bites..Version: 1.3

Great app! This app is great! it motivates me to go on longer walks just to finish missions. My only complaints are that to listen to a new audio clip, you need to log onto your iphone and tap the audio button to listen to it, and unlike Zombies, Run!, the app doesn't play your music playlists for you. Other than that, this app is fantastic! keep up the good work Six To Start!.Version: 1.2

Absolutely Love this App!!I can't think of any other way to walk for ages without even realising you've walked for ages! The missions keep you contently engrossed in the task ahead. Brilliant! - Alizé Levy -.Version: 1.3

Mostly good...I came to this app after using Zombies, Run! because I was having trouble with my right ankle after runs, and I wanted motivation for walking in the same way I got it from Zombies, but less ankle strain. I liked the ability to have my steps tracked while in my pocket or purse, and of course, a storyline to unlock and listen to. I found it a little hard to adjust to after using Zombies, where things happen automatically with your progress. The storyline comes in (and the music fades) as you reach achievements, and autoplays so you don't have to keep looking at your phone. Similarly, your landscape items aren't collected automatically either. I'm not too upset with this, however I don't like that you can miss items for not checking your phone frequently enough (I'm not even sure how long you have to get them before they disappear), and I am a completist and would/will redo an episode just to collect the missing items. Related to this, because I'm a completist as I said, I always take the longer path to collect the extras, however, sometimes the app will revert back to the short path, and if I don't notice that happened, I can't always fix it. Sometimes I will notice it before I get to the split and move it back, but sometimes I miss it and am too late to fix. This happened today. I set it for the long path and when I checked in at a time later, I was partway on the short path again. :( The app crashes every so often, which isn't a huge issue for me, but I find there is sometimes a discrepancy between the app when I access it from the main screen vs from the double tap to flip between open apps (and close as needed). This is annoying. This has been a particular issue with the challenges, as the version from the double tap access will have my correct progress, but accessing the app from the main screen will have lost my progress and make me start over. So, I really do like the app, as evidenced by my 4 star rating, but I believe it could benefit from a bit of work. Options to autoplay the audio clips (and integration with music player) and possibly automatically collect landscape items (or at least have them not vanish once available) would be nice. Also, better synchronization between the app when opened from the main screen vs the double tap task manager option is needed. I really hope that this app will have a big update soon. I really like it and feel like it has room to improve. Thanks for taking on the ride!.Version: 1.3

Love it!I'm really getting caught up in the story and it actually makes me walk more!.Version: 1.2

Get this app if you are considering itI’m obsessed!! It has a few issues with syncing perfectly to the amount of time I actually spent walking (especially on a treadmill!!) if it could link with Apple health I would be sooo happy. Like if you could choose if you want it to be counted by minutes or miles (that way you can finish an episode faster if you walk faster). But the concept is incredible. Story is great. Just wish there were more sound bites sometimes! More often..Version: 2.5.4

A fun way to walkEasy to use and it is a great way to encourage walking..Version: 1.2

Love it!Brilliant story, lovely graphics and intriguing concept. Other reviewers have complained about the audio not playing automatically, but that's one of the things I like about it. For safety reasons, I never wear headphones when I'm out walking, so I like being able to pop my phone in my pocket and forget about it and then listen to the story that I've unlocked when I'm home. It also means that I can use it when I go walking with friends and it doesn't intrude on our conversation. I've completed 13 episodes so far and it really is motivating me to walk more. Thank you to the developers for a quality app!.Version: 1.2

Good story even with glitchesThe trick to keeping the app from resetting your episodes is tapping on the amount walked in the upper left before anything else whenever you open the app. That allows the app to suddenly remember where you are. The app still crashes periodically if multiple apps are open in the background. Still the story is good enough that I keep playing despite the problems with the app. I enjoy it. It gets me moving..Version: 1.3

Keeps you motivated!I need to keep walking to find out what's happening next! This is the very most interesting pedometer ever!.Version: 1.2

Great!Much better since the last update, the pedometer portion seems to be a lot more accurate on the iPhone 4. Great job Six To Start!.Version: 1.1

SuperbLunchtime walks became a must to progress this awesome story..Version: 1.3

Really enjoyed.Excellent app, and would highly recommend it to anyone out there looking to buy it, it's worth the money. Best thing I've bought in a long, long time..Version: 1.2

Good excuse to walkNice idea. Gets you walking, gives you a good story and puts you right at the heart of that story. Each chapter is a walk to unlock audio story clips, find items and click on landmark icons to give more detail. I do my app walk while I walk the dog, or do the shopping, or even 'potter' around the house. It also will work while using the wii fit+ free step game (while watching favourite tv show). Only downside - it sometimes sticks. Just switch device off & on to unstick..Version: 1.3

Please make more walking apps!I loved loved loved this app. It really inspired me to walk. The voice acting and story line were superb. Please make more walking apps with this same setup. I clocked a ton steps using it. I prefer walking at my own pace/time when my job permits. So this app type is perfect for a busy office worker that has to squeeze in workouts in snippets. Thank you!.Version: 2.6.3

I am saving the world!I am obsessed with this app! As a lover of all things Scotland, I found this lovely little thing right after a trip to the UK and just as I retired as a school administrator. I now have the time to walk, and this app makes me go the extra mile just to hear the next sound bite. Yes, it can be glitchy, and twice I've had to repeat an episode in order to move on, but who cares? I'm walking my *****ss off, and I'm already worried about what I'll do when it's over!.Version: 1.3

This is really coolAnd you can use endomondo tracking at the same time.Version: 1.2

FantasticWell designed, good story, fantastic concept.Version: 1.2

GreatI am a total book worm, so to be fair the immersive, interactive game meets audio book approach was always going to work for me but this is wonderful. I was already walking quite a lot but since I got this I've increased, and it's nice having something that tracks my journeys too. I haven't some across any bugs so far, I'm about half way though. Big thumbs up from me!.Version: 1.3

More pleasePlease give us a sequel or something! I miss this app! I played this when it first came out and now, years later, I still have fond memories of it and even have a quote saved that I find so incredibly inspirational that I have shared the quote with friends and even patients. “'The sea is like life.' That's what my dad used to say. Sea doesn't care about you. Doesn't know about you. It's gonna try and break you. Not because it hates you... But just because... That's what it is and that's what it does. And you've got to find a boat or learn to swim. And when the big wave come you've got to ride them or you'll drown. That's what happened to you: big wave came, you rode it, didn't drown, might have done, but didn't. . . You were brave and you were strong and you won. Here you are.”.Version: 2.6.2

Works perfectlyThe audio and design are great; the step tracking is as good as anything - on an iPhone 5s, anyway. Which isn’t surprising, everything should use the same data from the M7. It might be less good on older devices, but I unreservedly recommend this on the 5s..Version: 1.1

Great story!... but...The Walk can be gripping - with neat twists and detail creating an excellent adventure. The voice acting and effects are often first rate, and the maps help submerge me in the world game. If you're looking for something to spice up your daily stepcount, this is an excellent option! But… There are times where the game doesn't hang together. In one episode someone declares “we’re back on the road”, talking about walking along it to blow up a car... but on the map we’re not on the road, and not heading that way. Mostly it's well tied together, but sometimes it isn't, and that's really jarring. On a more personal note, I’ve come to this from the excellent Zombies Run. What I’d love would be a “Zombie Run Mode” focussed on in-game play -automatically playing audio clips when you reach them, only showing items when you were near, only progressing “in-game”, and not demanding every kind of access to notifications / motion etc! Personally I don't want a stepcounter - I do want something that gets me out of the house for a good walk… so it makes it less the game for me That said, I do want to find out what The Burn are up to - so I guess it's got me hooked for now :).Version: 2.5.4

Different from Zombies, Run! but just as goodThis is the first day I've been using this but so far it is great! I will have to get used to it, since I'm so used to using Zombies Run. I tend to take long walks on a set route which would finish a Zombies episode per walk, but this is more meant to be taken around with you and run in the background, and then later you can listen to all the clips you unlocked, search for nearby items, etc. I am still using this on my walks and I just check the app every 10 minutes or so to listen to the next clip. It has been smart enough to know when I am actually walking and when I am just standing/sitting - probably by using gps. I'm not sure if I would be able to have it playing on my way to work for example, where I walk a while, then hop on a bus, then walk a while more. Would it think I was moving while on the bus? I don't want to cheat..Version: 1.0.1

I use this every dayI like this app, it took a few days to get used to. As long as you make sure you've selected an episode to play, all your movement during the day counts as progress in the game/story. I dont listen while walking, just check in the evening to see how far I've got, and listen to the unlocked audio. I get the impression the developers have tried really hard to make it engaging. It does spur me on to walk the dog a little bit further, or makes it seem less of a chore when I don't feel like going out, just to get a few 'rewards'!.Version: 1.2

Excellent AppI was not sure I would make use of an app like this in my workouts but I have become addicted. The story is compelling and I find that the minor inconvenience of looking at it every 20 minutes or so is really no issue. An improvement could be proximity auto-play. Not fun trying to move to the next audio clip in the snow or rain. It does work better outside and that is a drawback during dark cold winter months when treadmills etc tend to get max use. Overall, despite these small inconveniences I give it 4/5. Now, give us the rest of the episodes!.Version: 1.0.1

So fun!I really enjoy the -- maybe it's my fantasy of being a secret agent that's makes this so appealing. It totally motivates me to get moving AND I love being focused on progressing through a story versus trying to get out there and focus on time or miles -- a welcome respite! I'm on episode 29 and have had no issues so I'm thinking the bugs mentioned by earlier reviewers have been addressed..Version: 1.3

Amazing GameThis game is awesome! The audio is very well done and the ability for the app to record when and where you move functions really accurately. A must have for all exercisers and fans of Zombies, Run! also.Version: 1.0.1

Love this game!Walking a certain distance to unlock the next chapter is a good idea and fun to do. The story was so engrossing I sometimes walked about in my flat to get the next part! The supplementary audios are also entertaining in a twisted way. Occasionally the app would slow to a crawl but restarting it should take care of that problem. Also you don't get notified when a chapter is ready to play despite setting the notification. Now I've finished I think I'll miss the characters. Hope there's a sequel....Version: 1.3

Great gameThis app already has me walking more every day. My dog loves it..Version: 2.6.2

I love this game.Everyday I’m wondering how I can get out and walk to complete these challenges and get further in the game. I love this game and I don’t even think about the fact that I’m out walking or that it’s cold out. I just want more of the story. What a brilliant concept..Version: 2.5.2

Great story, good stats, really motivating!Like the app so far! The story is good, the maps are fun to click and interact with and particularly like the step counter, smiley minute counter and graph, but it would be good to be able to see your history in numbers as well (unless there's a way and I haven't found it out yet.) I don't mind not hearing the audio as I go as I've found the app works fine with your own music and even 'Zombies, Run!'. I just listen to the audio when I'm getting ready for work or cooking food. Not to mention, I also walk with my family and listening to the story at the same time, as in 'Z,R!' can get in the way of conversation. Although, it seems an option to listen as you walk would be a popular one. Overall, I love this app and it has really motivated me to walk more (in a way 'Zombies, Run!' didn't) -those last 5 minutes at the end of the maps, which I just have to complete, really add up..Version: 1.2

Restore purchase each timeI’m currently on episode 7 and I’m finding the app very motivating. However, I wish I didn’t have to go through the restore purchase rigmarole every time! Otherwise a fun way to walk and while in virus lockdown a great way to do 5 miles indoors..Version: 2.5.4

Enjoyable story!Honestly, this is the best pedometer app ever. I can keep track of my daily steps and walk time and enjoy more and more of the story as I move. I feel like there are ways that this app could be enhanced to make it even more awesome, but it's pretty great the way it is..Version: 1.3

Engaging and funI'm am really enjoying this app, I like the fact that you can walk without the phone intruding on my walk and alternate between this and zombies run dependent on the style I'm wanting that day. The story and voice acting is great and I'm not disappointed with my purchase. I just hope there is more in production for when I finish..Version: 1.2

Excellent way to get movingI'm completely hooked. This is a really fun way to get yourself walking. I'm out and about much more, just to unlock additional story segments. I'll be sorry when I get to the end..Version: 1.2

Love itSuch a good idea!.Version: 1.2

Fantastic!Loving the walk and cannot wait for the next installment. Well written and great idea. Found it doesn't really measure accurately on iphone. 5 but that's not the point. Oh got me out there walking ! .... And checking in constantly !!!.Version: 1.1

Lady WalkerThis is making me walk more than normal so it's doing the job. The app is a little temperamental but when it sticks too much I exit the chapter and start again. Sometimes it's the only thing that gets it going again. Am halfway through, and my guesses on who are the baddies are so far good, but even following the cues I have no idea where this will end..Version: 1.3

Great story, flawed game.If you enjoy audio storytelling, like radio dramas, do not miss this. As a game, it's flawed mechanically and has some annoying but minor bugs. The challenge episodes are particularly egregious. However, the story and how it is delivered elevates all of it to at least 4 stars. I hope Six to Start can take this format and improve upon it in the future..Version: 1.3

Makes me want to walk further!I love this! I'm recovering from an illness and was struggling to get active & this has helped greatly. Ok, it can be a bit cumbersome listening 'in the field' but it suits me best just doing the walking then listening at my convenience. At the end of the day, the App's purpose is to get you walking more & it definitely does this-I am enjoying the story n think the characters are mostly well acted. I check how long I've got to walk to unlock the next couple of segments or whatever & whilst the challenge episodes are frustratingly boring, I find I walk a bit more to move forward to an interesting one. Well done, keep it up & get walking!!!.Version: 1.2
