Previously on my Mac I used desk-top versions of AccountEdge Professional Accounting and QuickBooks. I decided to move to a cloud-based accounting program to be available on my iPad when traveling. After trying many cloud-based accounting programs I chose Zoho Books. Other cloud-based accounting programs either could not handle retainers properly and/or could not generate customer statements. Before Zoho, I was using QuickBooks, but they unexpectedly deleted my account, however, they kept charging me.I was so frustrated that I didn’t even bother to trying to call customer service. ✓ Hassle freeI am a self employed consultant and I charge my customers by the hour. Zoho Books allows me to time my work and those recorded hours are logged under each project, by task, for each customer. This makes my invoicing very fast and easy. I invoice monthly and I don’t think I spend more than 2 hours preparing & sending the invoices, which is great! The invoicing templates are fairly easy to set up, but I can’t say the lay out is exactly as I wanted it. But it’s good enough and looks professional. It’s also very fast to log in my expenses and purchase, as there are some option to set them as monthly, bi-monthly etc. I particularly like to home screen which allows me to see my results & profits in a simple and helpful way. I can also track my monthly hours in just 2 clicks. The app took me some getting used to, I had some trouble using the tax report for instance, but apart from that it has made the admin part of work much easier & lighter. I would recommend for self employed consultants..Version: 4.2.2

Still, there is room for improvements like automating invoicing for timesheets and increasing the number of states for payroll integration. Customer service appears to be improving as well. ✓ Has really helped me as a self employed heating engineer!Since using Zoho Books my cash flow has improved, my correspondence appears more professional, my clients respond and pay quicker, my emails no longer find their way into my clients junk mail, I have become more organised in relation to getting invoices out, and the process of writing up a quote for a client has become quicker and easier… overall I’m very impressed with this platform and feel it’s well worth the cost (I currently use the basic subscription). It’s sounds dramatic but my stress levels have gone down big time since using this programme as my “office time” is time I don’t actually have… early mornings, evenings etc, times that don’t interfere with family life and therefore critical for me to maximise my output during these periods and ZB has made my work quicker and slicker during these times 🙏🏼 Things I would like to see: Integrated calendar for managing bookings and tracking back through the diary. Ability to book appointments with clientele. Auto-save to draft for new invoices/estimates - when working on a mobile device the document is lost if I exit to obtain information from a different application and then return to ZB meaning I have to start over! 😡.Version: 4.8.21

It works very well for invoicing both vendors & customers, inputting expenses. The one glitch for me (on the IPad) is when searching for someone by name in the contacts section & the person is not found, it takes a few attempts to get rid of the response. Very annoying....hope Zoho can fix this small problem. Otherwise it would have scored 5 stars.Version: 3.1.3

✓ Great app, some minor improvements needed to make it perfectFirst of all, I absolutely love Zoho. It is by far the easiest, smartest and enjoyable way to manage my business accounts with. The app is NEARLY as good as the main website although I feel it needs 2 additional changes. Firstly, Touch ID. Most apps that hold personal information ask for a login on opening or Touch ID. If someone was to get hold of my phone, they could open up the app currently, send random invoices, emails or simply mess up years of accounts. Please implement this guys! Secondly, I use various invoice templates for different clients, however when on the move I can’t make and invoice under a certain template within the app.... I have to wait until I’m on my laptop/computer to do so which wastes time I could have spent elsewhere if I was able to do from my phone. This would be extremely beneficial. Other than that, keep up the fantastic work guys! EDIT: thanks to the developers who came back to me about the touch ID feature... this is entirely possible to do. They also explained how to assign invoice templates to individual customers via the website. Not a complete fix but helpful nonetheless. I have encountered another problem - Sending emails at a later date via the app seems to not be possible. If this is hidden somewhere within the app, please do let me know. I feel this feature would benefit so much as I use all the time on the website version. Waiting to unleash the full 5 star review!.Version: 4.1.3

Zoho Books is synced with my bank and allows to set up rules that reduces the tome spent on bookkeeping. And in 15 minutes I was able to import all of my QB invoices into Zoho. Only thing missing is the ability to have customers sign invoices on my iPhone when I’m st a Customer’s home.
