✓ The best guitar tuition app. Period.Amazing app! grabbed this as i’m a big fan of players like Vai, Satriani and Gilbert and have struggled with my technique for years, also interested as i used to get Guitar Techniques magazine and always loved Martin Goulding’s columns. Have a few apps already but nothing like this, the quality is outstanding with video clips of Martin demonstrating the licks and really great hard-rock, metal backing tracks. After scanning through it, i read with interest the “How to Practice section” and i’ve started to assemble my own practice routine with some of the legato and tapping exercises. Great idea with the scale generators, easy to view the change in intervals as you scroll through the modes while still staying in one position. Text is really well written and very detailed with directions and advice. There is a lot of technical guidance including things i’d never really considered and the whole course may take time to work through! ✓ Invaluable!I bought this app because I have been in bands with 2 of martins students in the past and both are phenomenal players themselves. This app costs less than half the price of an hour with Martin privately, yet there are hundreds of hours of knowledge in this. It's not just for rock guitar either, the sheer amount of content on modes and scales is enough to make this an essential learning and practice aid for anyone wanting to have a better understanding of what they're doing on a guitar. Put that together with all the licks, amazing practice routines, backing tracks and the easy to see fretboards, tabs and demonstrations and you get everything you need to take your practice to the next level. I especially like the ability to slow down and speed up the licks so that I can mark my progress as I play along. Even at 4 times the price this app would be fantastic value. ✓ I ENJOY practising with this app!What Martin has done here is to encapsulate years of experience teaching rock guitar into a wide-ranging and well-organised app. The Theory section, with its explanation of of modes and scales is the best I have ever seen (and trust me, I’ve seen loads of them). The beautifully clear fretboard diagrams and scale generators illustrate everything perfectly. Another great feature is the option to put together your own ‘Practice Routine’. I am really ill-disciplined, but I now look forward to challenging myself every day to try and get the exercises and licks perfect, and to improve my speed and accuracy. ✓ Top class tool for any rock guitarist!Just the app i’ve been looking for! Lots of exercises to develop legato, tapping, picking and sweeping styles. Top class playing throughout by Martin Goulding - excellent quality on the videos and audio. The app is built as a fairly detailed course and moves from technique to technique with lots of interactive toggles, straightforward to navigate and really well put together. Best scale and arpeggios displays including harmonic minor and well explained theory sections. You can really hear your own accuracy (or lack of) when you play along with the exercises, much more fun than playing to a metronome and with everything timed at 5 mins per exercise, keeps you really focussed! ✓ Decent, but I hope more content is added.I have been a fan of Martin's teaching for a while and collected many of his lessons from magazines such Guitar Techniques and his website.
