✓ Incredible sound! Interface steep - learning curve.I came to Neutron from the BBE Sonic Maximizer. It was no longer supported and BBE ignored any requests for help. I downloaded and setup Neutron. It took a little time to do that, as I have a truck and Bluetooth to my dash unit. The first time I played music l was floored. I believe I accessed the help forums three times. ✓ Wow!So here are the steps to make this app so great that separates it from others instead of the normal option of scrolling up and down and turn your equalizer off and on like most music apps you get the option to press and hold down your settings and then customizing it that also includes volume control and surround sound controls plus you get a volume control setting which is absolutely insane! You get upwards of six controls for your bass and surround sound moods I have been messing around with this app for over a month now and each time I use it I get a different setting the best part with this app that I love most is you don’t have to pay for other options in this app like you have to do with others.Version: 2.00.2

✓ Love it, BUT...Love this app. Phenomenal music player. I did have some issues with it under iOS 12, but they have all been addressed under iOS 13. It handles FLAC files amazingly on my iPhone 6s plus and on my iPad Air 2’s. And In lieu of owning a DAC, I simply hook it up to my home stereo system with a standard 3.5 mm aux out cable, and it is amazing. The quality of sound and the righteous adjustability of the EQ and all of its parameters make for quite a remarkably enjoyable experience. I cannot emphasize this enough. ✓ A massive upgrade from the built in player appAfter being underwhelmed by the Apple IPhone music app and the low volume I tried various players on the store and had some improvement but there was always something unnatural about the sound. Then I tried the Neutron Music Player and was blown over by what my music now sounded like on the IPhone 6s. At last it resembled my old IPod. Mass of extra detail and a more natural sound. Love all the options to improve sound but also like that you don't have to do too much to get a very good sound. Also very reliable. ✓ Excellent app, useful effectsI added my webradio channels, and they play fine. NOTE: use the Apple keyboard; it doesn't like 3rd party KBs like Typefinity. It cannot directly access files in other apps, but you can share them to Neutron and they're recorded in its Documents/inbox. I've tweaked the 4-band parametric EQ and it sounds good. ✓ I’ve been a long time fan of Neutron since….. having it on Blackberry. It was, for some reason, better/easier to use on BB. It makes me think it might be something to do with code language used, but I’m not an expert on this front. I think the biggest thing people need to see with this app is: you get out of it what you put in to it.. so, take some time to play around, check out online for reviews, forums, how to’s etc. & train on it. I can’t disagree, it could do with a little ‘modernisation’ touch-up. It can seem a little over bearing to a newcomer who is not used to the GUI, but this’s no reason to give it less stars. It’s a very capable app, has a ‘lot’ of great functions and if used to its full extent, it’s very powerful. I don’t know the team who develop it & can’t remember I’ve ever emailed at all about the app. All I’d ask them, as a very loyal customer whose support they have, is; please consider giving the app a GUI tidy-up, some new, fresh ‘videos’ on how to use it best, & a really good ‘user guide’ with illustrative help screenshots, detailed sections on how to get the very best out of all of the different capabilities it has. If you do this, I feel you can take the app forward into its next phase and, gain a much bigger following/user base. There are hardly any apps out there with the functions Neutron has, you could become the ‘King of The Castle’ if you spend some time shoring up the app. Anyway, great app, with great futuristic opportunities to be No.1!.Version: 2.22.7

Just by utilising only a few of the basic options your music will sound incredible if you play high res files. Take time to get to know the app and you will not regret it. ✓ The Swiss Army knife of music playersWhile every other media player is focusing on simplicity this media player goes the opposite way and gives you much more in depth customisation options than any other player. It is not the most user friendly by any means, but it certainly is a very high quality player. Normalisation using Replaygain (EBU R128) can scan the entire iTunes library on your phone, produces results which I believe are better than Apple’s Soundcheck. And you can even set the target LUFS level! The equaliser can also be set to between 4-30 band parametric EQ. And other DSP effects can be incorporated to tailor the sound you’re after. If you’re after the Swiss Army knife of music players, this is it. If you don’t wish to tackle the learning curve required to utilise this app, use Apple’s Music app instead..Version: 2.04.0

✓ Excellent!I don’t normally do reviews for App Store, but Neutron is SO good, I think it deserves one. Mostly, I work with Windows, foobar2000 and some quite fancy hardware. Many of my audio files are high-rez flacs. Recently, I set up a music server on USBs connected to a router. The normally excellent foobar (mobile) struggled with my NAS/FTP setup, so I looked for an alternative. Having gone through pretty much everything on the App Store, I finally installed a trial version of Neutron. Fabulous! Everything is configurable, plenty of information about the audio itself, a huge number of options. The SOUND is excellent at every hardware level (Amazon Echo to Meridian) and volume setting. And, yes, the output is at a very decent level. I notice that it even causes my DAC to run cooler than normal! Omissions? A manual or guide would have been nice. ✓ Fantastic Music PlayerWhile I love the layout of the iOS stock music player, I find the preset equalisers a bit limiting. Certain albums/genres didn't sound all that good. I thought I'd take a gamble and bought this player based on its equaliser capabilities. The gamble paid off. I'm able to customise the sound of anything I'm listening to, making my music sound near as perfect to my ears. I had trouble with one particular album which sounded like a poor quality recording when using just the iOS presets but now playing through Neutron Player, it sounds perfect. The album wasn't to blame. It is a well produced/recorded album but stock presets did it no favours. I haven't gone through all the different settings and probably never will as they're above and beyond my needs, but they're there if I want to experiment. My only criticism is the UI. It's not as neat as the iOS player and sometimes when I press for something to happen there's a bit of a lag, but this is minor and I mention only as constructive criticism for the developers. My iPhone never sounded so crisp and clear with hi volumes that are adjustable beyond the units limitation with no distortion or quality degradation, lot and lots of controls caters for almost any taste if you are willing to learn and patient. For the true Audiophiles 192kbps HiRes audio never sounded so crisp with an very balanced sound stage. I love learning lots! Needs an update though. Every time I'm using it the screen goes dark-music cuts out. If you can do that, that'd be great!.Version: 1.85.1
