Evidation - Reward Health for Negative User Reviews

WCAG accessible, still needs work with accuracyI really wanted to give this app more stars. I’ve had this app for over a year. Pros: For the most part, it is screen reader accessible. That means, the app is WCAG compliant. It’s not perfect but it’s much better than most of the pay for walking types of apps. It can sync with many apps and that is a good thing. Here is a big huge con, though. And this is why I gave it three stars. Even though it syncs with the iPhone your smart phone or Fitbit, it always shows a different step counter. For example: one day I walked 8352 steps according to Fitbit. But somehow the achievement app only recorded 7000. Yesterday I walked to thousand 365 steps. Achievement only says I walked 21 I think the closer I get to the $10 mark, the less points the app is giving me for my exercises and I don’t understand that. It does give you six points for logging water and six points for eating food and apparently only four points for sleeping. That helps. Still, it is definitely misleading. End it doesn’t record these all of the time. I logged into my Fitbit and even though it is always thinking with my Fitbit, it doesn’t record them. And if I’m out of range or something and I login to my Fitbit and log my water intake or something, if achievement doesn’t sync with it on time within a certain timeframe, I don’t get the points either like I said, it is better than any of the other apps that I have tried. But it definitely needs improvement.Version: 4.0.22

Doesn’t Sync Well with Apple HealthI only receive credit for about 1/3 to 1/2 of my steps recorded through Apple Health. Go for a 3 mile run, Apple Health records 4600 steps, achievement credits me with 1500 steps. Obviously not the end of the world, but a little annoying to have this happen. When I had a Jawbone device, it was significantly more accurate. Update: I purchased a Garmin fitness band at the end of March. I finally started receiving credit for all of my steps. I earned my first $10 reward today. 1 year, 25 days, and 3,667,811 steps later. But hey, $10 is $10. So if you’re having problems with it not giving you credit - ESPECIALLY if you have to use Apple Health because you have an app that isn’t in Achievement’s list of apps to link, the Garmin Vivofit is fairly inexpensive and much more compatible with the app (the band on my no name fitness band broke, so I had to replace it)..Version: 3.2.6

Doesn’t sync accurately.(on purpose)Got this app a year or two ago. so far have only claimed one $10 reward and very close to my second. The only issue I have with this app is that it doesn’t sync well at all. I’ve used this app both with my Fitbit blaze and now currently with my Apple Watch. Both my watch and phone can sync and give the same data for things like my steps, exercise, etc. but when i check the achievement app half or most of the time it only gives me points for a very small portion. I’ve read the reviews on here and it seems that a lot of other ppl have had this same issue more specifically the more active ppl who would have the potential to gain a lot of points a day. I believe that the developers of this app have made it specifically to only sync so much data so that you can only collect so many point in a day. This would slow down a lot of ppls progress so that ppl don’t cash out so fast. For me personally, if I average the amount of points it gives me a day I can only reach 10,000 point once every year. Which I have done. Anyways. With that all being said. This app isn’t accurate and if you are looking for something to monitor 24/7 this isn’t the app for you. But just having it on your phone and checking it every couple of months is alright. Easy way to have an extra gift card or something..Version: 4.0.22

Great app in everything but execution,I enjoy earning points by learning about my health, taking surveys, and by actually working out— especially without bets and any pressure to s as door unhealthy habits to achieve goals. I’ve had this app for years, since it was Achiemint. The problem is, the app signs you out and glitches a ton. Even now, I’m typing a review through the app and cannot even see what I’m typing due to a text glitch. I can’t even sign into the app because, since the recent update, I can’t move the screen to sign in (not sign up) via existing email. Luckily, you can still sign in, sync apps, and complete offers on Safari. I really like this app, but the great opportunities are sometimes obscured by the app’s problems. It’s a co distant issue. I don’t think I’ll delete my account over it, but I’ve definitely had stints not using the app. Maybe it’s just because my phone model is getting old? Try it, and see if you have a similar experience. At least you have nothing to lose and everything to gain from this app..Version: 5.42.0

Doesn’t sync accuratelyI’ve had many issues with the app not syncing to my Fitbit and MapMyRide accurately. There’s been countless times that I’ve checked to see whether or not all the activities I’ve done have shown up on Achievement and they just haven’t been. This app is extremely frustrating in that aspect. And the sketchy thing I’ve noticed is that half the time, it DOES sync correctly but then a week or two later I’ll scroll down my activities I’ve gotten points for in the past and notice all the activities I’ve done disappear...like why?? It was correctly synced the day of and now all my activities aren’t there a week later and the points I was awarded are now taken back? Pretty suspect if you ask me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve emailed them so many times asking them to update my activities while sending them a screenshot of my Fitbit page of my activities along with a screenshot of their app not having the activity listed. They fix it for me but who wants to keep double checking that Achievement got it right? It’s such a hassle screenshotting and emailing all the time. And it IS all the time. If it was only a couple times that this happened it’d be different. This is a regular ongoing problem..Version: 3.1.16

Previously good. Moderna bought it. App malfunctions plus data privacy concernsThe app used to be great way to earn a few gift cards, contribute to health research and even learn a few things health wise. And the developers were engaged and helpful. However 6 months to a year ago Moderna took over and the app completely fell apart. It’s takes much longer to earn a reward but the worst part is the it doesn’t correctly sync with apple health anymore for even basic things like steps. The support is non existent. Took 2 emails and 3 weeks to get a cut and paste response saying we don’t count secondary apps that count steps……ok? Clearly they didn’t read my message(s) saying it’s for apple health syncing issue, read their form which you must fill out to send a message which I selected APPLE HEALTH or bother to look at my account let alone their backend because if they had done any one of those they wouldn’t send an email saying our app will only collect data from Apple health. On side note, I personally feel much less comfortable with my personal data in the hands of a Moderna anyway. I’m not anti-vax or have some major grudge against big pharma but I am a realist and they have one objective and that’s to make money and as much money as they possibly can so naturally there is much More risk of personal information and health data(they even requested to have full access to unified health records…..they must have been high) being compromised or misused..Version: 5.46.0

It’d be a lot cooler if it worked consistentlyAchievement is a good app and if you’re active you can earn those points you need pretty quickly. That’s assuming that the app works the way the developers say it should, and it doesn’t. The app does not accurately retrieve information from the apps you have connected, and it doesn’t do it in a timely manner. I’ve done DAYS that it doesn’t pull my steps from the Health App, and others it’ll pull a fraction of the steps I’ve taken. Update 9/11: I don’t remember when I wrote the review above, but things had been working fairly well for a while. Then September rolled around, and Achievement isn’t pulling data from Apple Health. Do the developers forget to update the app whenever Apple pushes an iOS update? I feel like that would be helpful to getting Achievement to function properly on a consistent basis..Version: 4.0.22

No customer serviceI have had the app for many months now and earned my first $10 back. I then submitted to have that money transferred to my Paypal. I put in my Paypal email address. What I forgot is that in that time I changed the email address for my Paypal. I got a notice days later from Achievement that the Paypal account was invalid. Yet that email did not give me any information on how to resubmit the request with a different Paypal account. I then went to my Achievement page on the website. I noticed my credits for the $10 are no longer available on my account, likely since I submitted to have them withdrawn already. I then contacted Achievement via the help section on the website. This was over 2 weeks ago and have yet to get a response. Due to this I contacted Achievement days later on the help section of the app on my iPhone. Again no response. Then I contacted Achievement via the press email that is given on the website. I realize this is not meant for help but I am running out of options. Again no response. This is beyond frustrating. I realize this started as my error. I have liked the app all along but am shocked how awful customer service is from this company. It's like it does not even exist and I have to question if this company is still in business..Version: 3.1.16

Needs REupdatingI’ve been using this app for a good while now, apparently I discovered it right after the name was changed to Evidation. Anyway, I had absolutely no qualms with this app, and was quite impressed by how efficient it was. I earned my first 10k points in barely 3 months when I started working out. It tracked everything flawlessly via my Health app. And then the update came….. Ever since the update the same hour-long workouts, the same 5 mile walks, and the same water drinking habits are not awarding me the same amount of points. Actually the points are almost quartered at this point. I log about 12k steps on average and I’m only getting like 30 points??? I get half the points per minute of my workouts, as well. (i.e. 70 minute workout gets you 35 points) I absolutely hate it. I don’t know if the app is even working properly at this point but if this was an intentional change I’ll most likely cash out my points and uninstall for something better. I LOVED this app but now it feels like I have to double my efforts for half the amount of points I was getting before, and I already workout pretty hard! I really hope they just make a patch or at least adjust the points because I’d rather not delete!.Version: 5.44.0

Great idea, poor rewards, distracting telemarketing calls.Like my title said, this is fantastic idea. You don't have to leave the app running in the background like Sweatcoins and it doesn't drain your battery like SC either. But, dang, are the rewards slow to come. I feel like I get better rewards with Pokemon Go! It's probably very useful to people who lead very active lifestyles, as three only way to earn pounds is to run, walk or hike constantly. The surveys are very quick and don't require you to answer a billion questions, which is nice, but they don't garner a lot of points either. The only way to earn rewards is to be very active -- I walk about three miles a day and barely got 100 points. Sometimes my Apple Health doesn't sync completely. Not worth it in my eyes... Also when you commented a survey, you have to but an (X) button which is just awkward. And last but certainly not least -- I think they sell your information for telemarketing calls! Actual robocalls. Like, really? Lost a star for the 10 calls I got in one week..Version: 3.2

Points went from 10,070 to 8,866After noticing that, after a year of using the app, I had FINALLY reached 10,000 points; yet I had not received an email or a reward button from the app, I sent a message inquiring about my reward. Within 24 hours of sending my message, my points literally moved from 10,070 to 8,866, and I never received an explanation as to why. I was so excited to be using this app because, all too transparently, I struggle with my weight. I had just begun losing weight. In fact, I’ve recently lost 25 pounds. I have begun eating healthier, and I have been striving to get in more steps and to become more active. I thought Achievement was going to be the motivation I needed to continue on. Now, I’m beginning to second guess my decision to install the app. Needless to say, I’m very disappointed. It really is hard to believe anyone these days, isn’t it? On a scale of 1-5 stars, I give this app a big 2 because of their HONESTY..Version: 4.0.22

Things have changedI’ve had this app for a couple of years now and initially I would have said I loved it, but recently things have changed. In December of 2019 they switched up the point system. The app now only issues 6 points per physical activity that you do per day instead of basing it on the amount of physical activity that you do. I use an exercise bike regularly and based on my mileage I would get a variety of points. Now I’m only get 6 points every time I use the bike, no matter what my mileage is. This change to the point system is ridiculous- it should be based on how hard you are working physically. That’s part of the motivation to use this app. It did take a fair amount of time to accrue enough points to get to the $10 reward, but it wasn’t anything too crazy. Now it’s going to take even longer to get to the $10 reward. I attempted to contact customer service to inquire about the change and have not heard back from anyone. I’m not sure I would recommend this app anymore and that’s a disappointment..Version: 4.0.17

Active But Little RewardI'm an active person. I exercise everyday, and use my Fitbit to log my sleep everynight. I've had this app about one month now and have earned just under 1,000 points. At this rate it will take me over 10 months to get my first payout. I get 1 point for each hour of sleep each night and about 10-15 points for my steps each day, and about 3-5 points for reading articles and taking surveys, which I might get one a week. My point is that the points accumulate so incredible slow the app isn't worth having. The minute or two here and there you devote to the surveys and checking the app while you accumulate 10,000 points isn't worth it. A lot of jobs are paying over $10/hr these days. You'll put a few hours into this before the first payout. This app is a scam to collect free data from people, hoping that people will drop out before they actually have to pay out. Save yourself some time. Just install Google rewards for that couple extra bucks every few weeks. I'll get approx. $5/mo. from it and use it to subsidize the cost of small purchases via PayPal..Version: 4.0.13

Not getting all creditEmailed support December 2017 and January 2018 to try to get points back that they never rewarded me. Days were just completely missing activity even though Apple health and my watch are synced with the app. They responded and said they were aware of the issue and working to resolve it. At this point it’s still not resolved... 9 months?!? Now I just took a look and yesterday I logged in 10,000 steps (according to Apple health) and the app only rewarded me for 5000 steps. I would give this app 1 star because of this but I did just get my $10 reward through GiftRocket. It didn’t take as long as I thought it would to get the reward after I claimed it. But it has taken me over a year to get to the reward - which I believe wouldn’t be the case if you know.. they weren’t cheating me out of points?? I reviewed this app a couple months ago and the developer responded back asking me for details. The details are in my emails I sent that apparently were forgotten. I had listed specific dates that I had noticed were missing activity completely. I’m not going to go through and find those specific dates again. Just fix this issue because it’s still happening. The app isn’t truly synched with your fitness apps. I can understand a discrepancy of 200 steps or so - not a big deal. But a 5000 step discrepancy? 🤨.Version: 3.2.4

Does not Synch well with my Apple HealthI was excited that there is an app that rewards you for walking and exercising! i downloaded the app and it motivated me to take my morning walks but 4 days after downloading, my points are not in so i submitted a request via the app. 2 days later, i got my points credited. then the new ones i did was not reflected so i submitted another request for which i got a response that their techs are working on this bug to synch apple health better but will be done soon. i was advised to reinstall the app which i did, got the credits. and then now, i havent been credited for the past 12 days. im done sending requests every single time. i open my health app and evidation app everyday per their FAQs. read the reviews and i guess im not the only one having this issue, fitbit and garmin users included. so they have to figure out how to fox this or im deleting this app. im not even excited to check my progress on their app, ill just walk and enjoy it. i guess what they have is false advertising or really bad tech.Version: 5.47.0

Easy way to earn extra moneyThis app is a great and easy way to earn a little extra money by doing something I already do. It takes very little extra effort to sync my Fitbit app daily. My only complaints are that the company takes a very long time to respond to complaints/messages and the points payoff takes a very long time. The advertisements made it seem like it would be much easier to earn points but I have been using the app for about a month and have barely made a dent. Only other problem is that if you have the apple health and Fitbit apps both synced the Fitbit will override the apple health if it counts more steps. So you can only earn points on one app at a time. Not sure how it works with other apps but I was very disappointed by that and the company did not make this known when I first synced the apps, which is a little sketchy..Version: 4.0.15

Achievement No Longer Syncs ProperlyI have been a long time user of achievement and it was great for years but the developers have suddenly run the app (starting around end of 2020) and website into the ground. I have runkeeper, strava, and Fitbit which “were” pretty consistent with their ability to sync to the majority of my work out points. February 2021, the app and website no longer sync points. Might get 6 points of credit here or there on certain days if I’m lucky for logging water or food. Workouts worth anything substantial no longer register as points. I have tried everything such as disconnecting my apps and reconnecting, different browsers, and deleting the app and reinstalling. Contacted their support team and get crickets. I see the unhelpful responses on other reviews here which don’t even address the issues. The destruction of myAchievement is very sad and unfortunate because it was very special for a while there. Good bye!.Version: 5.2.0

This app and customer service is garbageI have had this app for about a year and a half and it used to work pretty well. Some three months ago they seem to have “updated or upgraded” the app and now it does not function like it used to. Now you can’t smoothly scroll down to look at all of your data because it jumps or takes a while to load, and that’s if it loads. On top of this there are dates where supposedly no activity shows up. The first time this happened, after trying to manually sync it and that going nowhere I contacted support. This was a waste of time since the only answer I received was that I am supposed to go on my Apple Health and the Achievement app everyday in order to avoid this. I cannot find anywhere that the app states this. But the beauty of this app before the “update” was that I could ignore and forget it for months and still get my points without having to worry about it. I don’t know what the point of customer support is if they cannot input the information. I provided screen shots, but apparently they can’t enter that info into my account. I call BS, I don’t know any company that cannot five points for provable data, and if this company really can’t then it is garbage. The only reason I am leaving the app on my phone at this point is because I am already halfway to my next reward. After that it’s gone..Version: 4.0.6

GypedI’ve had this app for perhaps about 2 years now, and as of a few day ago I had over 8700 points. I worked from home up until a year ago so I wasn’t getting many steps, plus I don’t have my phone on me at all times, but I was patient and knew it would take a while to get to 10,000 points. I felt like the reward was in sight and I was working really hard to get my steps yet I popped on the app last night to see that I had significantly lower steps than earlier in the week. It showed around 7100 points... what is that all about?! But I figured hey, that’s fine, maybe I can work harder to build those points back up quicker now that I work a lot and constantly am running around at my job. But now today I see I have over 200 less points yet again? That’s absolute crap! I checked the terms and agreements, the points don’t expire, I earned every single one of my steps and my points so I give up. This app is ridiculous. So happy it worked so well for others but I’m not totally convinced they’re not bots writing their little reviews from an algorithm. That’s all, I feel better after spewing. Have a wonderful day all. Update: I received a response from the app developer that this issue has been resolved within the app, so I guess that’s positive..Version: 5.0.3

Not workingI’ve had the app for a month. It has never once showed anywhere near the steps that Apple health shows. I weigh myself daily and keep a food journal on an app that syncs with Apple Health. I wear a pedometer that syncs with AH also. In a month, I’ve only been awarded points one time for weight entries. I barely get a point a day for steps because it shows less than 100 steps. Also, the page that allows you to connect apps, shows “1 of 3” at the bottom. That leads me to believe that there are two more pages I’ve never seen. I just updated it and all my apps disconnected and now the add apps page is blank. I can’t connect anything, so I may as well just delete it. I don’t have room on my phone for useless apps. Very disappointed:( Update: I still rarely get points for steps with Apple health. Map my walk always gave me points, but now it’s not showing up either..Version: 3.1.13

Earn extra $Easy way to earn extra money by using your fitness device and taking surveys. It may take several months, but you really don’t have to do anything but sign up and link your device. May only be $10, but it could come just as you need the extra money. It can take some time, a day or 2, to update your daily counts. You even get points for logging activities other than steps like sleeping, drinking water, and updating your weight. UPDATE9/18: as of their last update this site is now missing things or only giving credit for part of your steps, I have an entire week plus I am trying to get fixed. Pretty much have to check it daily to make sure it is correct and send screen shots of what they have and of the Fitbit app to show they aren’t right, still waiting for my first list to get fixed and just sent in another one. UPDATE 9/30: get same response from same person anytime something gets fixed, even if you include the screenshots in you contact. Issue still not resolved and nothing is corrected..Version: 3.2.6

Where is my review?I wrote a review that never got posted and I am starting to get angry!!! Every time I try to open the app it immediately closes. I have emailed you back in January and I never got a response. Are you avoiding me because I have severe autism and my mom has to help me write this review? I am having to go to a regular computer and type in the full website address and answer the daily questions for my account. I am not getting credit for weighing myself 1 or 2 times a month or when I put my iPod touch in my pocket to use for counting my steps. I might just stop trying to exercise with steps and just login to my grandma’s desktop computer and only worry about the questions. I only have an iPod touch and a iPad. My iPod touch is iOS 12.5.7 and my iPad is iOS 15.4.2. Please answer me and please don’t delete my review..Version: 5.35.0
