It is not a flappy game that will make you smash your phone, but a game that will make you question your every decision. Makes you suffer for the steps you took. Makes you panic for the lack of resources, which you should have collected or kept but didn't. All these add up should have made this game unplayable and worthless. Instead, because of all these, the game is fun yet challenging. For every star system you jumped, for every bit of Helium acquired, for every ship taken, relief and satisfaction will slowly creep into your heart. But the game will sometimes reach out and snatch that every bit of joy away by informing you that your engine broke or you lost 20 Helium. After all that grinding, you finally died with a score over 100,000. It will make your day and make you go back and challenge yourself for a better score. And you can't wait to tell friends about your awesome journey in space no matter they know the game or not. ✗ Good game, except...Out There is great, a real step forward for phone games. The writing is top notch and reminds me of the classic RPG-strategy hybrids that I loved when I was a kid. Your decisions have weight and you really have to be careful every step of the way. Yet I can't help but feel even casual difficulty is unnecessarily difficult - just tried the hardest level, and it's just a nightmare that goes beyond the threshold of playing for fun. Combined with the monotony of just mining planet after planet, dodging death constantly... it becomes a drag that loses its sense of enjoyment. I'm a big fan of Dark Souls and the feelings of stress and then reward, but as an adult with a job and a life it's hard to find time to sit down on my phone and do something that does nothing but stress me out for 75% of the time. I find myself wanting to share this game with my little brother, who really loved FTL too - but it's just too inaccessible and too frustrating for anyone who isn't a seasoned strategy lover. My main suggestion is that it would be nice if I could share this game with people who maybe aren't as good with strategy, because the story, writing and feel are genuinely, really fresh..ChooooioioioooooooVersion: 2.5

✗ HmmThis game has a cool concept but is ultimately unplayable due to the fact that the designers fail to reward the incredible amount of effort required to play it. For example, you can do absolutely everything right, and you just barely manage to keep going (the recurring theme of the game), and then at the end you end up stranded with no where else to go.
