Arccos for Negative User Reviews

Expensive annual subscription for clubsIf you got your sensors built in to your clubs e.g. via Cobra Connect then the app (which is free otherwise) won’t work without a subscription after a trial period which seems to vary in length depending on where you look. They’ve also put out quite a bit of info that makes it seem like this is no longer the case. It is. I have been told that by support today after one year of using it. The sensors themselves do not have replaceable batteries and are quite expensive for what they are, so you’d be looking at an annual subscription on top of replacement sensor costs. The app is reasonable and worth using despite some frustrating bugs, but not worth anything like the kind of money they want for this solution when you look at the alternatives like Shotscope v2. Personally I think the way they are trying to add on subscriptions that aren’t immediately obvious is scummy. Most people won’t discover the cost until after purchasing their clubs. It’s clear to me their business strategy involves extracting as much subscription revenue as possible from customers that have already paid a premium for cheap plastic sensors. Avoid and go for an alternative that doesn’t want to get its claws into your wallet forever more..Version: 3.5.5

Apple Watch dies mid round de-connecting issueMy draft review from June 2022 When Apple Watch is set to capture and it dies during the round the app cannot complete the switch to iPhone. The rest of the game needed to be tracked manually. Painful experience, you need to switch with 10% battery then carry your phone. Option to switch to Link would also be desirable improvement..Version: 4.20.0

Don’t know who it’s for.I’m a 12 handicap. Been using this about a year. Wanted to track how far I hit my clubs which the app does reasonably well. During a round, the app frequently misses shots/clubs, especially putts and wedges near the green. It also misses irons from the fairway and sometimes even the driver. Other times it adds shots I didn’t take, especially putts. Have to keep score on paper to double check the app which is annoying and twice the work. Doesn’t make good club recommendations. Shows your score in relation to par which would be fine maybe if you are a single digit handicap and competitive but I just want to see my number. Doesn’t seem to be a way to switch to number view. Hard to edit shot locations to refine the position of the shot because you can’t zoom in close enough to get it right. Doesn’t track shot quality so a sculled shot rates the same as a well hit shot if they go the same distance. Only tracks the first putt distance so if you leave a 30-foot putt 5-feet short but make the 2nd it’s just a 2-putt. No “attaboy “ for making knee knockers. Will be canceling my membership..Version: 4.4.10

Just bought a set of $1300 ironsKnew they came with cobra connect, was admittedly a selling point for me I was interested to see my real numbers. Now I’m stuck at a pay wall and it wants my credit card info. Seen scams like this too many times. Not saying it is a scam but is a bit odd that I’d be locked out from the app before giving some credit info. Can’t even experience a pinch of the app before signing up & giving credit info? Odd!.Version: 4.9.5

David ThomsonRubbish app. Tells me that my email is wrong???? Really clever!!!.Version: 4.3.2

Seems to not be evolvingUsed to love the app- but now seeing other apps out there progressing further. Feels like arccos is forgetting about the stats tracking and displaying of information in a nice easy to read format, and is instead focusing on their “caddie” feature- which they will charge a premium for.. The “taylormade my round pro” displays the stats in a much easier to read format. Worth looking at. Thanks.Version: 2.5.4

Terrible - stay awayApp doesn’t work as it should. You have to give your card details to set up an account which gives you a free trial. The only way to opt out of this is to email the developers. That’s ridiculous. They also don’t allow you to remove your card details from the app. So even after cancelling I still got charged. Do not waste your time or your money. The app doesn’t work well. There are better options out there..Version: 3.9.9

Useful for in round gps, but other features not accurate enoughI bought new clubs last year with the arccos sensors so I figured I might as well try this app. The GPS is useful for getting quick distances and the “plays like” distance is reasonably accurate and useful in making quick club selections. That alone might be worth a one time $100 charge- or whatever the subscription price is. The shot detection is bad enough to make the rest of the related features (handicap, scorecard, etc) mostly useless. At the end of 18 holes its any where from 5- 25 shots off and even less accurate hole by hole. It misses at least 25% of shots so when I check the app for a distance I usually have to adjust the hole I’m playing on because it thinks I’m still playing a previous hole. There would be so much manual adjustment and entry to make things accurate it’s just not worth it. I use the watch app for the GPS, but I just use paper cards to keep score. If this app were a one time purchase, it would be worth it, as an annual subscription, it’s not. It still needs a lot of work- also it eats phone and watch battery to the point that even at 100% charge it’s a toss up whether you’ll make it through a round.Version: 3.9.7

Better than it used to beIt seems to work so much better that it used to. Given up trying to use with my watch as so often play in a long sleeved top and cover the microphone rendering it useless not mention watch battery drain! My biggest frustrations are an inability to scroll back to the tee box when adding missing drive shots, there is no where near enough map zoom when adding in missing chips around the green. I miss the single tap for flag placement and constantly have to adjust my putts and flags so know the putting stats will dodgy unless I physically measure each putt. New stats are great and more than enough to help the average golfer..Version: 4.10.1

If you want data on your game - Get ArccosBeen using this system since it launched 4-5 years ago. Works very well with iPhone on your pocket. Allows you to identify your distance gapping and parts of your game to work on. If you want data to help improve your game - consider this system.Version: 3.9.7

Honest Review After Using For 1.5 Years CanadaI really like the idea of Arccos, I like using it and for the most part it works well, but there are a few things that can be improved. IMHO, unless you want a lot of frustration, you need the Link sensor. Apple Watch integration works, but you will need to do a lot of editing after the fact as it misses way too many shots, seems to freeze from time to time and very rarely tracks putts. All of this was alleviated for me when I switched to the Link sensor. The stats are great - but I can’t trust them. I can see on one of my scorecards a round with 7 one putts, yet under personal bests it shows a round with 5. Average distance for a new club was 202 yards, but the yardages recorded were 234, 226 and 259. These just happen to be two categories where you can glance at the data and know it’s wrong, what about the multitude of other calculated stats that are harder to verify? Take them with a large chunk of salt. The summary display has a weird margin shift on iPhone - which they attributed to my display settings, but I haven’t changed them from the default. Lastly, there is USGA integration, but no Golf Canada integration which would be great to have. Arccos is a really great tool, but should be better for the price..Version: 4.49.0

Works okay, UX design needs improvingPlayed my first round using this tonight and there are some obvious bits that could really do with improving. Pairing clubs the flow is rubbish, forces you to pair clubs in a certain order and tells you to wait for the circle to go green… yet there is already a green circle around the what will be green circle. On initial look it’s not clear what the UI should do or that it is forcing you in to an order to pair. Once paired it’s not easy to do club diagnostics, they really need a bit of the UI where you just pop a club out the bag and it tells you which one it is. Even if they make it a debug option to save battery life. Playing my round I noticed that the 4 Hybrid wasn’t paired so all my shots were missed and I had to add them in manually. I also couldn’t then fix this or access the menu easily to check the club diagnostics. I’ve also found my stats aren’t showing in the front page despite playing a round of 9 holes so something is wrong there. The good bit was the interaction with the apple watch, that worked really well and it generally picked up all the shots for my registered clubs, the UI on the watch was easy to get used to and the yardages were easy to read and understand..Version: 4.11.12

FrustratingI got the app mainly to help me on figuring out my stats for what I need to improve on. The app can do just that which is great. However, every round I have played with it I find that I constantly have to EDIT (add) shots to the hole as it doesn’t always register the shot. I’ve also been having linking problems once the round is done. I’ve tried re-pairing my clubs and clipping my phone to my belt to improve the connection but that didn’t even help. I also just experienced an issue where last year I played a course that was tracked on gps but apparently the app couldn’t register it this year when I went to go play the course again. So I’m not happy about that. For the amount I pay on an annual basis, this app is not worth it. I find myself getting frustrated every round due to this app not working properly. Only good thing about it are the stats it provides you after the round..Version: 4.1.1

Great app when it works....but I almost threw my phone in a pond the other day!I think that this is an awesome program and tool, when it works. Over the last 1.5 years it has helped me to develop more consistency with each club and develop a good understanding of how far each club “actually” goes. Lately though it seems that the app is having quite a few issues. I have had to delete the last 2 or 3 rounds that I’ve played because a few holes into the round, the arccos system will lose its way or start missing shots and when you try to edit your shots, to keep up with your round, the app starts flashing and bouncing screens worse than a flash mob at a disco!! I play golf as a way to de-stress from work and have fun with friends but the last few rounds I have had to shut the system off mid round because I just couldn’t take its added stress anymore!! The other day I contemplated throwing my phone in the pond as I was that frustrated. I really hope they find a way to fix these issues as this could be a really great tool but we are not there yet. Good luck!.Version: 3.0.0

Apple Watch stopped running ArcossSo ! Last week I played golf early in the week and used my watch alongside my I phone. With the two running side by side , I have never seen such a powerful golfing app. Come Friday on a day out to play 36 holes my Apple Watch is suddenly not compatible with Arcoss caddie as it now requires OS 7 for watch and this is not available to my Watch. I think this is disgraceful to make changes to an app that make certain watch models no longer usable. Fortunately for me this has happened before my subscription is due and I shall not be subscribing. I paid for my new G425 to have the Arcoss grips as I had the technology a month ago to be able to use it ! GONE! Ian Watson.Version: 4.4.6

New subscription charge $99 per yearI have been reviewing these products for months and since a family member bought this and with the functions the app has I decided to purchase the same. The service was good with next day delivery. I paired all the sensors to the phone, the next step is to subscribe at a cost of $99 per year after the first year. I spoke the family member who does not have to pay this additional charge. I contacted Arccos who have said this is a new subscription charge they had introduced last month with the new gen3 sensors. Although the ‘new’ gen3 sensors are identical to the gen2 sensors except the firmware asks for a subscription of $99 per after the first year. The sensors last approx 4-5 years therefore an additional $300-$400 over and above what the sensors cost. Bear in mind this additional cost when deciding on the shot tracker you are buying. I am in the process of sending these back for a refund..Version: 3.8.11

Misses strokesI’ve played 20 rounds and have had to edit the strokes after every game. It misses strokes with several clubs, which means the analytics are skewed. I’m taking the sensors off my clubs..Version: 4.4.3

Not Working in CanadaI filled out all the information previously as you have already sent me the sensors and you took my CC info. I paired all of my clubs and I went to to start round when I was at the course and it said “Completion Kit Order Required” even though that process has already been completed. When I go into it it asks for my info, again so I fill it out again, click and “Something Went Wrong” comes up. Most likely cause I’m in Canada and I don’t live in a state or have a zip. I’ve seen some of the other reviews and it seems like everyone in Canada is having the same issue and yet it hasn’t been corrected in a long time. If this doesn’t work my subscription is useless and I will be canceling as soon as the trail expires. Please fix and hopefully not in November as there’s not much golfing up here that time of the year..Version: 4.0.4

Too power hungryI found the app to be way too consuming on power. Started with 95% on battery and didn’t even get to the 13th before my phone was out of battery which makes the app completely useless..Version: 3.0.9

Rip off lolJust payed $800 for a driver that came with the censor then another $800 on a Apple Watch just for this app then paired it to the app because it says it’s free then It won’t let you check the app out unless you pay for more censors and opt for a yearly renewal with payment hahahahaha I was really excited to try this because I’m new to golf but this almost makes me not want to be apart of this sport..Version: 3.9.6

Simple - doesn’t workGot new clubs with sensors and got additional ones for those that they didn’t come with the clubs. I love tech so was excited to try and see my numbers. But didn’t work. I’d have to adjust strokes and I felt distances were off. Plus annual price was extremely expensive. Canceled and removed..Version: 4.21.0

Increases Golfing FrustrationsThis app seems to lose its mind during a round more and more. On a number of occasions now the app gets lost during my round and doesn’t know what hole I’m playing any longer. And manually telling this app what hole you’re on doesn’t seem to correct the issue. When I’m playing golf I prefer to focus on my game, not an annoying app ! And if you want to EDIT a hole, good luck 😉. There’s no zoom in function for a hole and trying to add or correct shots on a relatively small smart phone screen can be another frustrating challenge. In short, if this app didn’t get lost during a round and had a reasonable edit function with zoom it might be better. But combine a malfunctioning app with 6 failed sensors in my first 2 months and I’m beyond frustrated with Arccos. And several of my golf buddies have stopped using this app and sensors as well for the same & other reasons. Sad ......Version: 4.4.3

Very disappointedI have today deleted this awful app, I was so hoping this would be great, I’ve played around 10 rounds using the phone, Apple Watch and the sensor. It’s all pretty rubbish missed lots of shots and found it difficult to adjust during play. I understand missing putts but every club has been missed at some point, on average I would say about 10 shots missed a round. The idea is great but the tech just does not work..Version: 4.55.0

Doesn’t even work.Took my credit card info but won’t accept my shipping info. Can’t use the app without continuing and I don’t even need the sensors. Just terrible.Version: 4.0.4

DisappointedTrying to be as objective as possible, very disappointed with this app. Use Apple Watch to detect shots. Shot detection is ok, misses the odd bunker shot and shot from rough where there isn’t much sound. Terrible on chipping and putting. You would think the sensors would play a part in motion detection but from what I can tell these are no more than RFID that let you know which club you have. Everything else is done through the mic in the watch/phone. Going round the course is difficult, it’s supposed to auto detect the tee. But doesn’t always work and seems there’s no way to manually move it on. There is far too much manual input to get accurate data. The interface isn’t easy, Golfshot is much better and keeps my score. I see no benefit in the auto handicap if you are a club member. So far only thing I do like are the insights but these are useless with out accurate data. I’m willing to give it a little longer but I think I’ll be returning my sensors if I can, as all I’m now thinking about on my round is whether I’ve captured everything on a hole/how do I get it to start the next hole. I just can’t trust it. Right now it’s no better than a £25 app..Version: 4.11.2

Apple IOS phone app broken with Apple watchWould be nice to use both the phone app and Apple watch at the same time. Iphone 14 and Apple watch 7. Currently the phone app does not open if you are using the watch for club tracking. I believe this was broken when they rolled out the smoke sensors, which I had purchased above and beyond and only used them once due yo all the phone app issues. You cant look at yardages to objects with the phone app if the watch is tracking. Apple watch misses too many shots. You cant edit shots as you are playing. I do like the after round analytics. That is top notch. I do like that you can set the location of the pin, on the watch. Doesn't record chip shots very well so their is skewing of some of the numbers but oddly enough you can edit the chips on the watch, if you remember to. Support is terrible. Basically fill out a survey after the round! IMO the analytics are excellent but not worth the money as this product currently stands. Too expensive for the frustration you have working out all the nuances. There are other apps that are better at club and distance tracking using the apple watch but the data analytics cant beat arccos. I wish they could get the app right with the apple watch. I would still be a customer!.Version: 4.53.0

This is not good enough in 2021Buggy as hell. User experience needs to be improved..Version: 4.3.2

Steals money off credit cardLoved using the app. But two weeks before my free trial ended they took $208 off my credit card. Even tho I signed up for monthly not annually. Currently waiting for my refund..Version: 4.51.0

TerribleThey app will take your credit card information and won’t let you use it if you live in Canada. Not impressed..Version: 4.0.4

New version glitchy with watchThe new version has some good features but the interface with the Apple Watch is a lot worse. Setting up a round takes an age and frequently the watch and phone have sync issues. When you select a round on the watch vs phone it drains the battery extremely quickly, rarely getting past the 14th. When the battery dies the handoff is extremely clunky and most times I haven't been able to use the phone in the last few holes. Now, I only play on the phone in case it dies. When you play on the phone, maybe half the time the watch draws a blank on the yardage and reports it as zero. I've found the only way round this is to reboot the phone and the watch. Obviously this kinda screws up the round and last time I couldn't make them sync until around hole 6 or 7. On the plus side, shot detection is for sure better. Hardware definitely better, but software defintrky needs a lot of work. Almost tempted to go and buy a rangefinder, messing around with both devices really screws up your concentration and rhythm..Version: 4.2.7

Great technology too cumbersome to useThis technology is really fabulous and insightful. Unfortunately until there is a better way for this device to detect a shot than having to keep your phone in your left front pocket it’s simply too cumbersome to use on the course. Constantly removing your phone to check yardages and to make sure the shot is detected and put it back in your pocket, especially if you wear a glove on your left hand is just too distracting. I don’t own an Apple Watch which is the only other method of shot detection I’m aware of. If you just leave it in your front pocket and use some other device to figure yardage to the flag it might be useful but then all of the features in the app are useless..Version: 3.9.7

Zip codeCouldn't use App because it wouldn't allow me to enter a Canadian postal code to register. Keep asking me to enter a valid zip code. But it took my credit card information..Version: 4.0.4

Course downloads are not workingCannot downloads are not working, really frustrating when you go to a new course.Version: 4.16.1

Old course layoutThe app works well but my home course is not updated on the app. Which means you have to do a bit of editing after your round. Please update Half moon bay Australia.Version: 4.28.0

Great app but time for my Apple Watch to do the listeningI love this app but having to have my iPhone in my pocket to listen for the shots is actually having a detrimental effect on my game! Would be be great that the Apple watches with cellular could be added to app.Version: 3.0.9

Useless appCan’t accommodate penalty shots. You need to manually add putts to your hole to make up for the deficiencies.Version: 4.59.1

App has a long way to goBeen using the app for a couple months now and it has some great features and insights but is lacking basic functionality. For example, want to see all your previous rounds at a particular course? Well, you can’t. No filter options for previous activities, just a chronological list. Garmin is great at this. You can view stats overall or by course. The Arccos course preview caddie is also very disappointing. Yes it’s nice that it suggests clubs and a strategy based on your club stats but I want a course preview too. I want to design my own strategy and drag markers to show me distances between points in the same way that other apps do. All you get is an incredibly basic graphic overlay on Google earth images that you can’t do anything with. So frustrating. Give it a go, it may be good for you but not as good as the Garmin app in my view. It does have potential to be way better. Especially as they charge £100 a year for a subscription and Garmin is free with a device..Version: 4.76.1

Regularly loses location since last updateRegularly loses location since last update. Tried following the instructions to fix it but makes no difference, problem still reoccurs on a regular basis. App then doesn’t allow you to select and ‘move’ to the hole you’re actually playing, which would at least allow you to play out the remaining holes..Version: 3.8.8

Star Rating pendingI’m going to play my first round tonight and have set everything up which was straight forward. The sensors are slick and look great and don’t really add any recognisable weight to the clubs to make a difference. So far only criticism is that I’m unable to get the app on the apple watch. I’m not a fan of having my phone in my pocket so was excited to test the watch app. Help and support would be greatly appreciated..Version: 4.11.7

Terrible UI and ExperienceI received these free from Taylormade to demo. I played one round with them and the experience was bad enough to make me write a review, which is something I don’t think I’ve ever done before. The shots are recorded maybe 60% of the time and it’s incredibly difficult to add/edit shots. Playing with a phone in your pocket is annoying for me as well. Arccos invented a problem to sell you the solution by making an option to buy the link clip or use a watch. I don’t like to play with a watch on and I refuse to pay a single penny for this system. If you want to keep track of your stats, it’s honestly easier to use a range finder and a pencil — you will get much more value and performance that way. Definitely don’t buy these. I received them for free and still feel like I wasted my time. Golf is hard enough as it is, don’t let this app distract and frustrate you!.Version: 4.11.0

The best but Apple Watch support flakeyThis is the best app of its kind however I often find the Apple Watch app won’t start a round once I have started it on my iPhone and it says in the app description that it supports HealthKit but I cannot workout how to turn this on. Rather confusingly when I wrote to them they said it didn’t support HealthKit but they still haven’t removed the mention in the app description. Other supper interaction have been fantastic however. This is a great app and product and if you are serious about improving at golf it’s a must have, however, for the price I’d expect everything to work more seamlessly and the guidance to be less confusing.Version: 3.8.11

Okay but needs a lot of workMost importantly, I took my watch off the charger just before my round and it was dead by the 8th hole. That’s just ludicrous that it uses that much battery. Developers need to think about this first and foremost. Tapping the crown to set my pin location was rarely working. Post round, the web and iOS app were COMPLETELY out of sync. Editing a shot and then hitting the done button would consistently drop me on a random hole. UI/UX is glitchy and not very user friendly. My very popular clubs aren’t even available to add to my bag but the newer and older versions of the same clubs are available. I think it’s pretty comical that my stats have a 350 6i hit yet nowhere even on the app or the web does it show this shot. There are so many problems with synchronization. Being a long time iOS developer myself who’s been around the block more than a few times, this app feels like it was rushed out the door to meet a customer commit and just jamming in features to get it close without not much, if any, QA..Version: 4.59.0

ExpensiveWhy would I spend all this money on a driver just to spend another $10 a month to use this app?.Version: 4.4.3

Can’t recommend no matter how much I wish I couldI really want to like this system, but it’s performed too poorly to recommend it. Worked fine using the link for the first 7-8 rounds, but then would consistently lose the GPS connection and no longer capture swings. Even switching to the iPhone didn’t help capture swings. And there’s no way to switch to the Apple Watch during the round. That said…even getting a brand new watch didn’t help as it wouldn’t consistently capture swings. After the 3rd or 4th hole it was useless, if it had started getting them at all. Trying add all the info during the round made it stressful and no fun to play. And finally, when I wrote in asking for a refund I was given instructions on how to re-pair the sensors, and an offer to buy new ones. They never told me I was outside the refund window…until another month had passed. A waste of time and sadly…a waste of money..Version: 4.66.0

Mildly interesting toy, terrible serviceThe product is mildly interesting as a toy, but adds very little in learning your club distance and it's distracting to use. The 1* rating is due to the TERRIBLE customer support and interactions. after (1.) no success in reaching anyone or finding answers to install questions (very poor website, app and company design). No effort at all in simple navigation design, customer support or contact options. (2.) No ability to contact them to change an error in their database regarding my home course. (3.) They WOULD NOT cancel my trial even though I cancelled in writing 5 business days before the trial expired. This kind of trickery is unacceptable and further shows they deal with me as a commodity, to see what they can get away with with the least effort..Version: 4.4.2

Won’t work with Apple WatchGirlfriends bought me these for Christmas, played 36 holes and unlocked the Apple Watch feature but when I go to sync the course with my Apple Watch nothing happens. I’ve done everything the website says keeping both my iPhone and Apple Watch screen illuminated but still nothing happens. Really disappointed to be honest as I was starting to like these sensors. Will be going back to the Golfshot app that works with Apple Watch perfectly if I can’t get this to work..Version: 4.2.7

SensorsI used to use this app but found the sensors too many times did not pick up the shot.Version: 4.73.0

$218.21 charge on my creditOne week after I cancelled my account they charged my credit card $218. Got roped in after my cobra irons came with these ridiculous things. Just buy a range finder. Seriously this isn't worth the cost..Version: 4.50.0

Great app with a couple flaws!I’ve been using Arccos Caddie for about 60 holes now and for the most part the app has been great. I have the Arccos Link but I’ve only used my phone and my Apple Watch to track my shots. The Arccos app got the Apple Watch worked great and I love the features on it, the only problem I have is that it drains the battery for you watch pretty fast before you can complete a round and the app for the phone makes it difficult to switch to the link or disconnect the Apple Watch once it dies mid round. An issue I’ve been having today is the app has been continuously crashing while I’m trying to view my stats. Hopefully this get fixed next patch..Version: 4.4.10

Super buggy and awful supportThe app is incredibly buggy, especially on a brand new iPhone and brand new I watch. The link never works and picks up the sound of the golf club. I have actually stopped using the link that is brand new as of the last 20 days because it never picks up a shot during a round. I would never recommend buying the link. I’ve reached out to the Support team three times now and nobody has helped me yet. It’s incredible how unintuitive the platform is. If you run out of battery on iwatch or the link you can’t choose to start up the round on the other device other than phone. Incredibly bad user experience. Also, if the wind is 20 miles per hour one day it’s logging a shot at 80% and factoring that into your club distances….Version: 4.43.0

Wait its not free??Bought a whole set of cobra clubs to use Arccos now to find there’s a annual fee and it’s not cheap! $120usd a year! That’s wild..Version: 4.10.1

Watch App poorI’ve been using this app since my wife bought it for me as a gift years ago. It really helped my game and I enjoyed it. I was really excited when they expanded to having the watch work stand alone and it seemed to work for a while. The last two seasons the watch app has really taken a turn for the worse. Lately I can’t even finish a round without it stopping to track my shots. VERY frustrating. When I called support about the issue it seems they are having issues keeping up with Apple’s updates. As a consumer, I hope they fix it soon. I have begun looking into alternatives but hope they get it fixed sooner rather than later. It really is a good product when it works..Version: 3.9.6

Watch doesn’t last a roundThe new update which includes shot detection on Apple Watch is a very good feature but having started a round with my 6month old Apple Watch series 4 which was on 85% it was working great up until I got to the 12th tee in which it said I had to handoff the round to my iPhone as the Apple Watch will soon run out of battery, if I had 100% as I started the round it would still have only had lasted another few holes so it’s totally pointless.Version: 3.4.0

Very disappointingI got the caddie system as a gift for my birthday as I love things technology. Unfortunately this tech simply does not work well. I miss tons of shots every round. I have already replaced 7 sensors that stopped working and now I have to replace another one. There is no point to using this app since you will spend more time editing your round then analyzing it! I can’t believe this app got 4.6 stars. Most people who wrote a comment on the App Store wrote a very negative one. Also, the app developer doesn’t really care at all since they don’t reply to any comments. I am going to try to get my money back from Apple..Version: 4.4.11

Was a 5 star App till…Please make the Apple Watch ultra able to detect shots. It’s always been hell setting up for the Apple Watch to work but now the ultra doesn’t even recognize shots. Keep up the great work. Will be back a 5 if I can use the Apple Watch before the end of the season..Version: 4.16.1

Love hate relationship with ArccosTee to green works fairly well 4 1/2 stars. Green and around the green. The pin location needs to be addressed. Mark pins some located off the greens. Difficult to address and edit…..Version: 4.10.4

App errors too manyFor the money developers really need to sort out the standard options - measuring club distance - it excludes rounds no idea why, it missed too many puts and on some rounds the link disconnects, some rounds I need to turn of my phone and start to get the app to work and distances incorrect . This has been very distracting playing. If this continues will need to considering cancelling. I love the concept but the app and it had been helpful but the link has gone down hill and not sure if it is due to a latest release which hasn’t been tested properly but please sort it out!.Version: 4.31.0

Cool idea - inconsistent executionI've been using sticks Arccos for about 3 months with my iPhone as my primary sensor. It gets most of my shots, but is about 50/50 on putts. I've used two different putters - one with the superstroke attachment that I paid extra for and another with the regular sensor attached. The superstroke sensor barely works - really disappointed with that. Today I used the Apple watch app to try to track my shots. It was beyond awful. It registered maybe two shots all round. Had a super clunky sync process before and after the round. I don't even know why an Apple watch app was made if it clearly doesn't work. I spent so much time manually adding shots. The caddy feature in the app is another great idea that isn't executed well. Despite all the data points it claims to factor, it doesn't factor wind direction correctly, so it'll recommend too much club on downwind holes and not enough on holes into the wind. I got this system for easy data tracking. It certainly tracks data - but it's far from easy..Version: 4.2.3

Does not work on Apple WatchThis App works great with the sensors, but you will have to pull your phone out of your pocket every time you want to check distances! Have had the sensors and App for over a year and it’s never once worked on either of my two Apple Watches. Really inconvenient and I would recommend some of the better free Apps that work well on both Apple Watch and iPhone..Version: 4.5.5

DOES NOT WORK WITH APPLE WATCH!Ive had enough of this now. Two years of issues and now with an iPhone 12 and Apple Watch 6 it just cannot be trusted to register shots without intervention on each hole. Left alone it will stick on one hole and every future shot will be registered against that one hole! It doesn’t even use the Apple Watch’s native GPS! The statistics aren’t really giving me any more than I really know already and I’ve found a fantastic GPS app called hole 19 which the free version uses the Apple Watch native gps too. Amazing there’s such a great free app out there and yet these guys are charging a huge premium annually for something that just doesn’t work..Version: 4.4.5

So much potential but disappointingThis app has the potential to be 5 stars but it continues to disappoint. The new format of strokes gained is way to busy and down right confusing to follow. Why did you change from the old format? It was simple and straight forward and a much better user experience. The play from Apple Watch is glitchy and barely captures my shots. Friends I follow I am unable to see their data. Until Arccos works these bugs out save your money. I will say their customer service is great but their IT team has no clue what they are doing and slow to resolve issues...if they even can. Please fix these bugs and make this app what it can be. Track our putt stats, how many putts in each individual round would be nice to see. Allow users to switch to the view we had before strokes gained was pushed down to us. It’s frustrating with the potential the app has for me to even have to write this..Version: 4.1.1

Clunky GPSI actually find the sensors very reliable and really enjoy the stats afterwards. I think the GPS is just really clunky to use on the course. It’s hard to drag your target around to get distances to hazards or pick a landing zone, there’s no zooming and the app controls often cover the tee box or part of the green, sometimes I can’t even get the target action to come up and I don’t understand why. I end up running Arccos and 18 Birdies at the same time so I can use their GPS to get around the course, which my phone battery doesn’t love. Improve the GPS usability and I would switch, but it’s usually just frustrating on-course..Version: 4.11.10

Very buggy and have taken features outStruggled to get a full round in today, after about 12 holes it crashed every hole (when checking my score. I had to input the data myself for some holes. Also they’ve removed the recommended club feature from the Watch app which syncs with this. Really handy and was available by itself before their new caddie feature...why remove that feature?.Version: 2.5.6

Do not use or buyThey charged my card when I haven't even used there product it's a scam 215$ gone and I can't get a response on there number or email.Version: 4.79.0

Not greatFirst time I used the app, and at my home club the course length is wrong by about 600 yards ! Not a good start. Also didn’t realise you need to have your phone in the front pocket the whole time. Got the sensors free with a new set of Pings, but I won’t paying for a subscription after the 3 month trial ends..Version: 4.4.5

Quite buggy for the money paidFrequent issues with the app not picking up shots, averages not including latest rounds, link not detecting shots and there doesn’t seem to be any real way to account for temporary changes to the course layout during maintenance etc. don’t think this service is really worth the money they charge..Version: 4.31.0

Good but temprementalWhen it works it is great and easy to use however 50% of the time it freezes and/or doesn’t load as it doesn’t realise a game has been started on my phone to which I then don’t use as supposed to as find it a pain to keep taking my phone out of my pocket. If they can make the watch app work more consistently and be able to load it and connect to the phone app whatever whole you are on then it would be 5 stars all the way..Version: 4.2.3

Good start, but too many issuesThe idea is sound, but there are serious issues that have me on the edge of abandoning it. I've used it for 4-5 rounds so far. The worst issue is that the app disables the use of wireless earbuds. I have earpods now, but I also used powerbeats 3 for one round. All audio output is diverted to phone speakers, EVEN THOUGH THE HEADPHONES ARE CONNECTED. I frankly can't believe Apple allowed the app into the store with this flaw. The play/pause function in the headphones works, but the audio only comes from the phone speakers. Next, many strokes are not detected, especially putts. Putts are trivial to add or subtract, but regular strokes are not. The Editing function ballows you to edit the strokes on a hole, but it is poorly done. I am an iOS developer so I understand and can figure out a UI. This one is poor. One simple thing is that it prevents you from zooming in enough. This is a purely arbitrary and silly restriction. Lastly, stats are not displayed well at all. There is not even a straightforward scorecard view of the round!!! The Golfshot app has a much better UI. The sensor functions paired with that app would be an almost ideal solution. I'm so close to going back to it. I actually spend more time editing each hole in Arccos than I do in entering my stats by hand in Golfshot..Version: 2.6.3

Data is awesome, but lots of finicky aspectsFirst off I’ve used this for about a year and the attention to detail at times is good and at other times is severely lacking. First off, the app itself doesn’t have a way to play to a temporary green. The course I played on had a fairway temporary green but the app didn’t allow for the flag to be moved off the green. This would be useful if a temporary fairway green is in place or if GPS isn’t being precise enough which can affect putt distances. Second, I’ve had 8 sensors of the original 13+5 replacements die on me from 2 separate batches. It always seems to be from the same clubs at the bottom of the bag. 3rd I’ve encountered issues with the sensors staying in the grips. I’ve had to resort to glueing the screw in sensors in because the sensor grip kit doesn’t make economic sense. They’re 2 times the price of the normal grips and don’t offer replacement grips only. You’d have to rebuy a whole new smart kit set from what I’ve seen. At least hot glue can be removed and the sensors moved once my current grips fail. And finally, having the Apple Pay button in place since it’s required but setting the price at $0 and failing on the backend is a dirty workaround to not paying the 30% Apple tax. Not everyone wants to manage their subscription through your app with a difficult cancellation process. In fact, this practice may become an FTC violation soon with the click to cancel rule in which case you’ll need to change your policy. Also, the beta dashboard still hasn’t been shipped in >6 months. There’s also very obvious opportunities to start publishing better data about which brand clubs are more consistent, forgiving, longest, etc but we’ll probably never see that data. This has me wondering what the actual purpose of the subscription is for if we’re getting a snails pace of upgrades and fixes that make this questionable if it’s worth using anymore..Version: 4.60.0

Embarrassing ProductI have an iPhone XR. The app crashes constantly, it is slow and glitchy, and almost half the time doesn't open at all. The concept sounds great but this is one of the worst executions of a paid product I have ever seen. I can't even use the free trial because the app doesn't work. Don't waste your money. Luckily the sensors came with my F9 irons. If I paid for this, I would be livid..Version: 3.9.6

Locked out in CanadaDL the app and scanned my new Cobra clubs. Said I needed more sensors for the rest of the set to be accurate. Got them in 2 weeks and scanned them in. Went to the course to start the round and it’s saying I need to get more sensors to finish the flow. Then when I tried that it got as far as country and wouldn’t let me get pass zip code as we have something else in Canada. So now I’m not able to access the caddie portion and am losing my trial period. Thanks, please help here in Canada..Version: 4.0.4

Latest version is garbageDoesn’t work - either iPhone or Apple Watch. Played 18 last week and it missed a bunch of shots. This week played 9 and it totally refused to connect to Apple Watch. I have a Link on order but may cancel as this is one of the few apps that seems to get worse with each iteration. Deleted and reinstalled a bunch of times so it’s not that....Version: 4.1.7

Apple Watch app wont turn offThe Apple Watch app wont turn off and as it uses tons of battery this is a major problem! I have restarted the watch and phone, removed the app and added it again from the watch but the app keeps turning itself on!! Please fix this my watch is useless while this happens it’s like a battery virus!.Version: 4.10.4

Worked well at first, now it’s terribleFirst 2 or 3 rounds I found this an absolute doddle, kept the phone in my pocket and went round, just added the odd gimme putt here or there. For some reason this app will randomly half way through a round delete my round, or simply not log shots or delete the last few shots... it’s not like you can go back and add these with any ease either, without this app working flawlessly the whole thing is pointless!.Version: 3.9.7

Debit money incorrectlyThey debited $230 from my account a year after I’d already cancelled the membership. Absolute BS. Also the product is super glitchy and doesn’t record 30% of your shots. If you want to spend half your relaxation time being frustrated with your head in a phone as you re-enter shots that were missed go for it, but I play golf to spend as little time on my phone as possible..Version: 4.11.1

Not quite hands freeThe first round worked acceptably, but every round since has been a misfire. The biggest issues appear to be putts, switching from hole to hole, and it particularly has issues on 9-hole courses. It will go from hole 1 to hole 11, then back to 3, etc. Disappointingly requires a lot of babysitting during the round, otherwise you’ll be reverse engineering your round to get the data input correctly. If I’m going to do that I may as well use the scorecard like the old days; at least when I input data afterward I’ll have something correct to reference, and I won’t rudely have my face in a phone while my partners are playing. Has potential but it’s a ways from hands free.Version: 4.54.0

Flakey app- crashed on day 1 and won’t work on iPhoneWhat a let down- got the sensors, got the caddy, and the app just keeps crashing. Lasted 14 holes then froze. Re load, lasted 5 minutes before freezing. Reload and only 1 minute. $500 for the kit, and the $100pa- I expect MUCH better than this..Version: 4.4.8

Misses too muchBeen using Arccos for over 3 years and have over 300 rounds in the app. Sometimes it performs well but more often than not it misses shots through the round, this ain’t a huge drama but is a little annoying. More recently I have been having issues where the app seems to fail part way through the round which is very annoying especially if you don’t notice for several holes..Version: 4.11.3

Works 90% of the timeI have 63 rounds in this year with the Gen 3 sensors using only an Apple Watch Ultra as the sensor. The the stats work great if you remember to set the pin location every hole and you play each hole like you should. The yardages seem to be within 5 yards which is acceptable for an 12 handicap. Some shots out of the rough might not register along with some soft chips. The putting is hit or miss, I have gotten use to checking to make sure each putt was registered. There are some glaring issues and missing items I wish I could change: I know that I have to advance the hole manually to the next on two of the holes on my home course since the tee box is close to the greens. If I attempt to open the app on my phone during the round while using the watch as the sensor I end up with double the strokes because it logs each shot twice, I don’t even touch my phone during a round now. The last thing I would change/add would be distance to a hazard if it is in the direct line of play, the last thing I want to do is mental math when I am paying for a subscription to give me yardages. Overall I am probably at 75% on renewing just because I’m not sure if I want to start building data all over again in a new system..Version: 4.69.0

Terrible Experience. This app and the product are a huge waste. For starters, it took me 15 minutes to get my watch to connect because when I lower my watch to hold up the phone the two don’t sync. I have to hold up both my watch and my phone for the app to recognize the watch, because the watch goes to sleep when you lower it. No other app needs to have the watch raised for synchronization. Next, after hitting the driver and iron I look down and no strokes were counted. This happened over and over. Finally, when finished with the hole it doesn’t have a selection for done with that hole. You have to go to the next hole and the nonsense starts all over again. I used this app at the end of the summer last year and had problems and once again this summer having problems. I’m done. Too many free golf apps that do the same thing for this headache..Version: 4.11.5

PriceYou can't make people paying full year price and not having a monthly options,I stop using it because of the lack of option for the membership,,will use it again if they give us the option to paye as I need the app......Version: 4.11.5

Can’t even connectWhen I log in and pair the clubs, it freezes and the app won’t open back up until I reinstall. And by then my clubs does not save and I have to redo it and it keeps freezing. Bought the whole driver hybrid and irons for this thing and doesn’t work.Version: 3.9.6

RubbishGot the app thinking it would be helpful. It has a couple nice features. Even paid extra for the Superstroke putter sensor. Problem is, it misses too many shots, app is cumbersome and a headache to work with while playing. Also, if you cancel, they lock you out of the app but are not refunded for the prorated rest of the year which is odd, and borderline theft..Version: 4.15.0

App crashesApp no longer loads after update from 2 days ago. Please fix ASAP..Version: 4.4.7

Waste of moneyBought a new set of clubs with Arccos sensors to find out that there’s a ridiculous annual cost and the batteries in the sensors are fixed batteries with a “2 year life expectancy”. Just another way to scam you into unnecessary and useless smart devices. Ill just go ahead and delete this app now.Version: 4.10.0

Would be awesome….Would be awesome if it recorded strikes properly. Perhaps the new generation will be better.🤷‍♂️.Version: 4.11.9

Missing shotsI have the Accros Grips paired with the app. There’re always missing shots. Sometimes a high 80 round will become 72! I once had a round of 55!.Version: 3.3.4

Great for data but has some flawsHave been using Arccos for a few years now. Love the data and willing to put in the time to adjust pins and correct (undetected or improperly located) shots but today was extremely frustrating. Not sure if it’s a simple bug that’ll be fixed soon but it added a drive on a hole and wouldn’t let me delete the shot like I’ve been able to before. Then after I walked off the green it would let me adjust the number of putts. Couldn’t get to putt screen at all. I have an iPhone 14pro and updated all my firmware. It should work better than this. It’s becoming too much of a distraction for me than an asset..Version: 4.78.0

GolfNe se connecte jamais avec ma Apple watchOS.Version: 4.4.5

Doesn’t cater for female competition teesApp doesn’t accomodate a player who’s handicap is above 20 or for female competition tees.Version: 4.3.2

Great data, when it worksThe club data is awesome, but the app is clunky and glitchy, and it takes FOREVER to start up and even worse when syncing with Apple Watch. More often than not it never is ready for the first hole. You can’t start up the app while you are still warming up because it starts tracking shots. The app eats battery on iPhone XR because it REQUIRES location services to be set to “Always” and my Series 3 watch is dicey for making it through a round. Use a separate GPS or range finder if you don’t want to keep referring to your phone in the event the app drains the watch battery. Having said all that, I renewed after the 90 day free trial, because of the shot distance/location data that it collects when everything works is eye opening. No longer fooling myself on how far (short) I really hit. We’ll see if they can improve the sync and battery issues over the next year. It won’t be the worst $100 I’ve spent on golf gadgets..Version: 4.1.6

Terrible!Where do I start? When I first got Arrcos , I was told how great it was. My first round was unsuccessful. It only picked up a few shots, and no putts at all. I was told I probably need a new phone. I had an iPhone 7, so my wife and I upgraded to iPhone 12’s. Again, a few shots recorded and zero putts. And yes, they were paired correctly Then I was told I needed to take off my Otter Box so the mic would work better. Same result. Then I was told I needed to clean the clubs and the attachments for the grips. Same result. I was told to do several other things to make it work. Same result. Finally, I was told I needed the Caddie. Okay I spent the $125 plus shipping for that. Finally, something different happened! It picked up zero shots and EVERY putt!! Don’t get me wrong. I was happy to shoot an albatross on every par 5 (For those who don’t know, that was dripping with sarcasm). It recorded a 55! Not bad for an 18 handicap! Even if somehow I finally got it to work, it would take the fun out of the game completely. I’m happy for those of you that got it to work. I want my money back, but that’s not happening!.Version: 4.5.1

Variable Quality of ball trackingThe idea sounds good, but the variable quality of ball tracking from the clubs makes the whole product difficult to use and of limited value when compared to cheaper less fancy ball tracking available on Golf Shot and similar. When it works or after you have spent the time adjusting the shots, you get some useful stats, but not sure it is worth the effort..Version: 4.12.0

Great tool. App needs workThe arc is caddie is great but this app really needs work, especially when it comes to using an Apple Watch with it. I tried to end a round and it forced me to sync the data from my watch. When I did, my entire round’s shots became out of whack. It appeared to add 25+ strokes and messed up each hole. Round and stats completely lost as I’m Unable to manually go back in and fix my shots. When I try to do so, it thinks I’m adding a shot from miles away. The app needs work and isn’t quite user friendly. It should be more like Golfshot+, which I use in tandem with the arccos caddie. Again, love the product, but the app is kind of a mess..Version: 3.9.9

SpottyMy last round on June 25, the App was very spotty. Was not picking up the holes properly and location. When I finished the hole it did not recognized the howl being done nor starting the other hole. It lagged behind quite a bit..Version: 4.53.0

How easy was that?Received sensors yesterday. Downloading of app was faultless and all clubs and sensors paired within 2-3 minutes without any problems encountered. Have just played my first round with them. No preparation apart from downloading the course…..then played. Used app on phone to view the hole layout, and watch to record hits. Watch and phone worked seamlessly and every stroke was recorded, including putts. Mark the pin feature was simple to apply. So far, extremely impressed..Version: 4.50.0

Fantastic system but super buggy appReally love Arccos, when out on the course it gives you so much useful info. If you like stats, this is for you!! Can also genuinely claim that it’s taken a few shots off my handicap. However the actual app is so buggy and crashes regularly. I’ve had to reinstall it about a dozen times. If this didn’t happen I’d give it 5* for sure. But until they fix it...just the 2* I’m afraid...especially at the £200 price point...this shouldn’t happen!!.Version: 2.8.6

WatchApp closes multiple times during a round.Version: 4.18.0

Can’t cancel membership via appThere should be a way to manage the membership via the app or iCloud subscriptions..Version: 4.4.7

Almost the right appI’ve been using Arccos for a year and a half, and I’ve found it to be a great tool to help a new player (2 years) with a high handicap understand the analytics of my clubs. Club recommendations are great, and post game statistics are things I really like to monitor improvements and areas that need work. However, these things are only good for yourself. The things this app lacks are big let downs for playing with friends when compared to GolfShot Pro and 18 Birdies. There’s no group scoring. Social sharing is awkward and very limited. Sharing a scoreboard with family and friends requires basically screenshotting the front and back and texting them separately. I really enjoy playing with my friends and it’s always easier to run GolfShot or 18 Birdies side by side with Arccos which drains your battery. Or just use a pencil scorecard. Finally, although I like the Arccos handicap breakdown, I would still prefer Arccos use the slope scoring method to give me a true GHIN handicap and ultimately a NET and projected score like those other 2 apps do. Arccos says I have a handicap of 16, where everything else says I’m a 19???? I don’t understand why there’s such a difference..Version: 3.0.10

Not for LadiesI've found that having to carry my phone in the front pocket of skirt, shorts or pants very difficult. Pockets in ladies clothes are not deep so having my phone in my front pocket restricts me front crouching or bending. It also doesn't always move from hole to hole automatically. I have to keep checking it..Version: 3.0.10

Now it says Apple Watch 7.0 or later originally said series 2Bad information.Version: 4.11.7

Good in theoryGot a set of sensors with my new driver I got for the holidays. It also came with a free 3 month trial. To get the sensors sent I had to sign up and activate my free 3 month trial. That was at the end of November. I live in Nebraska and was not able to play till the beginning of March when we took a trip to Arizona. So long and short of it, I didn’t get to play any rounds through the free trial. I do not like how active on the phone you have to be on every shot. There are too many missed shots not to check after each one and then the time it takes to enter missed shot. It took away from the game, the companionship of the people I’m with and the scenery around me. Played 10 rounds with it and averaged a score of 97. Played my next 10 rounds without the system and went back to my range finder and averaged a score of 91.5. There is some great information available, but ensuring accurate information takes way too much time and effort. Chalk this up to paying $10 a round for the 10 rounds to figure this out. Really wish I didn’t have to start the 3 month subscription in the winter. Would have saved me $100. As I said, it’s a good system in theory, just not for me until there is a better technology between the sensors and the phone..Version: 3.9.5

Good first impressions but poor performanceInitially I thought this was a great app. I had the free 90 day trial and, although there were minor issues, I thought it was worth buying the full subscription. A few months on and I don’t think this is worth the money: 1. It kills your Apple Watch battery. I have to turn all fitness tracking features off and put it in theatre mode to have any chance of the battery lasting 18holes. 2. It repeatedly misses chips and putts 3. Information around the green is not sensitive enough. I would say in excess of 90% of holes I have to adjust the pin position and putt location. 4. If you just play a round and don’t alter the shots on the app it can send arccos into a frenzy where multiple shots are incorrectly recorded and then you have to retro fit your shots to the round. This completely destroys the attraction of having the app. 5. It’s not clear to me how to get the basic functionality of a gps system eg “how far to carry the fairway bunker”? I might be missing something here. 6. The gps seems a few yards out compared to other gps or laser devices. This is fine for your own purposes as you have consistency, but if someone else asks you for a yardage it might not be accurate. Overall I think this is a great idea and I really wanted to enjoy the product. But in all honesty it’s too problematic to recommend. I’m giving 2 stars not 1 because I do think the strokes gained analysis is helpful..Version: 4.5.5

Tracking unnecessarilyThis app insists on having tracking always without sufficient explanation. According to Apple diagnostics this app checked my location 4 times last week while nowhere near a golf course and not using the app. Not at all happy about this and have had to constantly turn tracking off And On as required..Version: 3.7.0

Won’t connectI downloaded the app a few days ago but my driver won’t connect to the app.Version: 3.9.7

Distant to pin not showingDistance to pin does not show when close to the green. Even when quite far from the green Also, got a new iPhone XR and app no longer syncs with my Apple Watch 3 so I cannot use the app without looking at my phone.Version: 3.5.5
