G8TKeaperYour program, Maplepop Reader, “looked” so interesting, so I downloaded it. . . I was Definitely interested in yourMain Program, Maplepop Reader SE, that I Bought It. OK So Far. . . Then I tried to Register It . . . . & EVERYTHING WENT SOUTH ! I put in my eMail Addr, a OTP, was sent, when I tried to put the OTP in the space provided ON PRIOR PAGE . . . It Disappeared. . . .F I X I T OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK !!! Pathetic ! I would have give a “0” or a “ “ but the it would no register!.Version: 3.2.2

Excellent, customizable reading environment, crummy service. All I wanted was clear instructions how to transfer the same books downloaded onto my iPad's MapleRead SE app, onto my iPhone's MapleRead SE app. The Help FAQ leaves much unexplained. The Support team's condescending response was to direct me to the Help page, adding, "I encourage you to try things out and learn by doing." Using the app across devices should be way more intuitive..Version: 3.1.1

Why is there a refresh icon every chapter? Why on earth is there a loading icon every time you move to the next chapter in a book? Totally distracting and shows a severe lack of polish and coding talent by the dev..Version: 3.0.2

Second best in a dozen is still pretty goodThis app isn’t the best on the App Store, or my first choice, but it is a strong second, and looking for something to replace Marvin 3, it feels like this might be the only app of the bunch with a real shot at replacing it if given enough to get caught up in features. The good: - highly customizable. Marvin 3 users will recognize a lot of things they love. - Active development. - Lots of solid features already. The bad: - Missing a lot of features that would otherwise make it great such as auto-scrolling or updating your progress on Goodreads. - The interface could use a rethink. Many of the menus and locations for features could be better thought through. Developer should consider brushing up on best UX design practices. - Not the prettiest app on the market. The Ugly: - For some reason, you have to register an account with them in order to add books to your library, even locally. - The app does not make use of iOS’s local file explorer. This means that it can be a great hassle for users to add books into their library as you’ll have to go outside of the app to do so locally, or frustratingly, re-sign in to other external services that otherwise might already be attached and signed into your file explorer, such as Google Drive..Version: 5.2.1

Translate do not work anymoreRecent app updates stoped passing through the word selection to a Google Translate in a pop up. You have to type the selection manually in a popup.Version: 2.0

MarginsPlease allow more fonts (user or built in) and margin settings ! Minus two for huge margins on top and sides like on iBooks..Version: 1.0

Not user friendlyVery difficult to get books into program. Sorry I purchased it..Version: 5.2

Needs a LOT of workOver-priced, geeky, poor onboard instructions, each book needs to have it's user functions redefined, no FAQ, complex in a bad way, and it only has email support. NOT RECOMMENDED if you are looking for a plug and play app...steep learning curve....still prefer iBooks for all its faults..Version: 1.0

Killing the battery of a new iPad air 5th gen?Don't get me wrong, the app in general is good but it appears to be killing the battery of my Ipad Air, which is supposed to have about 10 hrs battery life. I am only reading with Mapleread for about 3 1/2 hrs and I am out of juice. System confirms that the only app using my battery is this one.... With other apps including webbrowsing, video etc I nearly get to the advertised hours of battery life..Version: 4.8.3

Worthless....waste of money.1. Fails while importing EPUB books and PDF files from Calibre. 2. Fails to import a number of EPUB books from Calibre. Shows it there, but cannot read it. Marvin has not issue with any of them. 3. Has trouble with even PDF documents that Marvin and other PDF readers can. 4. IN EBOOKS cannot get the line spacing to adjust regardless of settings I use. Very disappointed after reading some reviews and articles. Wish I had not wasted my money on this product..Version: 3.5.2

Great reader needs highlighting enhancementsI love the reader. One of the best. Great options I plan on exploring soon. However, I depend on colors to identify answers in my ePub articles. I need at least four readily available highlighter colors when preparing lessons in ePub format on my iPad Pro. After highlighting a particular text I tap on "Mark" and it highlights nicely. But there’s only one available color for highlighting. I need a pop up box with at least four highlighting colors to choose from (instead of just one). This functionality shouldn’t be that difficult to make available to the end user. Many ePub readers provide this type of functionality. I’m really disappointed that the SE and CE combo apps I purchased from Maplepop LLC don’t provide this basic highlighting functionality so readily available in other ePub Readers..Version: 2.1

Woeful,Constantly freezes; can’t handle large books; a serious disappointment. Avoid!.Version: 3.5.1

Horrible.More expensive than other readers and it does not work. Tried downloading books from Project Gutenberg and only one out of three would open. Tried getting books from Dropbox and it would not import any. It would start to import and then would fail. I tried it on about 20 different books that all work on other readers like Kybook and Marvin. I had high hopes for this app but it was a complete waste of money..Version: 1.7

Continues To CrashI like to read in Landscape mode and if I use my iPad in portrait and then go to landscape and open the app the book never opens. I have to reboot iPad to be able to read. Although sometimes the paging just gets messed up. It splits the pages in the middle. I really like this app so much that I put up with this..Version: 4.1

Difficult to sync between devicesI love the format of this reader. Especially the book theme. However I stopped using it for 2 reasons. The bar above is just too hard to read in night mode. And most importantly syncing is not an easy task. To down load a book I have to do it on both devices. Then I have to open each one and get pass the cover and extra pages to the contents page. Then I have to sync it. On my other devices e I have to sync it, I can read but before closing I have to re sync it. Nothing streamlined. Wish it flowed better because I really love the layout. I also have to recreate all my shelves and place books seperately into those shelves. Just wish it talked better between devices..Version: 3.6

No CBZ supportCan’t read CBZ. A bit complicate app, but the one that was the closest to my need..Version: 3.3

Not quite there yetThe reader is great, one of the best available on iOS right now. If only the other features would also work properly, this app would easily be worth double the price, but they don't. Sync across devices doesn't work properly, the "download" button is missing completely on some devices for the same book and same calibre server, and so on. TL;DR great reader, poor implementation of other features..Version: 3.3

Sync is brokenSyncing of books to a new phone or across devices does not work. No response from the company’s support..Version: 3.0.5

Good but not the bestOne thing that would make this my only ereader is one click export for highlights / notes to Readwise. Until then I have to use BookFusion for my non-fiction and study materials. Another is the reading position sync; most other readers it’s automatic. With this it’s a pain to switch between iPad and iPhone..Version: 5.0.2

No ICloud or sync support! This app doesn’t allow you to synchronize books or PDFs from iCloud which made it really inconvenient for me to use..Version: 3.0.5

Great reader, horrible for importing booksAs a reader it’s pretty good. The interface is powerful, easy to use, and comfortable to read from. However the interface for maintaining the library – importing books and so forth – is horrendous. It tries to provide thousands of ways to import books from every kind of server, and in fairness it probably succeeds. But understanding how to actually use this feature is gently melting my brain. I want to like this app, I really do. But until the interface is more clearly laid out, and is more consistent with existing iPad apps, I can’t give it more than two stars..Version: 4.2

Pain, pain, pain 😕Still struggling to copy my over 3k of books library from my old iPad to a new one. Keep in mind, fellow readers, it is not easy. At all. Especially if you are not a computer geek, but a regular person who simply loves to read and collect books. Unlike other apps for reading, this one doesn’t allow to copy its content when you clone your old device via iCloud, you will be needing to do A LOT of painful movements. First, if your books are not from iTines, it won’t allow you to see your library via File Sharing. So, it’s not really an option. Second, if you think to do it thru MapleRead own server would be easy, guess what? It is not. They won’t even allow you to copy your whole library at once. So, instead of getting rid of my old device, I have to keep it around because it still stores all my books. What a disappointment..Version: 3.0.4

IPad issuesNormally I love this app very very much however with the latest update I can’t seem to open the app on my iPad I am very reluctant to delete the app and reinstall it because I have a lot of files stored on it and I keep trying to open it and it keeps force closing itself I’ve even restarted the iPad I turned it off and turned it on and it still not working seems to happen every time there’s a major update the iPhone version of this app works perfectly fine there’s always issues with the iPad I can’t even get past the book background to access the settings for this app please fix this ASAP I don’t want to have to re-download all files onto this.Version: 3.1

FormatPretty, but b.master? It only supports epub and my library is mobi! Back to kindle pc and ios apps....Version: 1.2.1

Dont spend your moneyIts too hard to get it back! I have been unableto move books from my computer to this app. The instructions have not been update for years (iTunes is no longer used to manage files on a device). I finally found books in a folder called iTunes, and they couldnt be opened or moved. I do not want to use the web-not all of us have easy access. I was hoping for a replacement for marvin, but it looks like I just wont update my ios ever again.Version: 4.8.3
