✓ Even better if it had vim bindings and a shortcut for ESCA nice little editor, not the prettiest, but it works well and has most of the functionality I need. It syncs well with DropBox and reloads when the file changes. A lot of other editors with access to DropBox don’t. I mainly use it for coding and latex. Apart from having to forego vim bindings, it’s a great editor for when I’m on my iPad..Version: 19.0.1
✓ Very capable & well presented.I’ve tried a variety of programs in this category and GoCodeEdit is the most impressive. I’m able to SSH into my VPS and code in Python & Golang. I can then test and run these programs from within the app. Amazing! The user interface is surprisingly friendly given the amount of screen you’ve got to work with on an iPhone. ✓ Great price and featuresFor the price and feature set, this app is worth it. My only complaint is aesthetic and minor: I find the font used in the majority of the UI (menus, labels, descriptions, etc.) to give off a very “amateur” look and feel. It’s like if were to have the option of writing this review in Comic Sans font. You would probably take me less seriously. A feature request I have is to add support for importing/ cloning a git repo given the HTTPS url (from GitHub, Gitlabs, etc.).Version: 12.3
✓ Very impressiveTo be honest, I did not hold my expectations high for an iOS editor. But this one is really cool. Aside from the things it claimed to support, the UI is very clean and the short cuts are very rich. They even support most OSX like shortcuts like ctrl + D (unfortunately ctrl + H does not work). Also shortcut like CMD + 1 to navigate between tabs are supported. The file system is also very nice. Tried Dropbox and iCloud, both works fine. Incidentally I tried to connect it to my school ssh but did not work. Not sure what went wrong, my ssh server itself is totally functional. The editting is very convenient. I would not say it is as good as the original ST3, but this level of quality is far beyond my expectation for a iOS editor. Guys, get this, really really good..Version: 11.0.1
✓ Great mobile editor!I’ve tried all the free apps and frankly, they’re all rubbish. I couldn’t bring myself to drop a wad of money on an app like coda either. I decided to give Goco a try and it is definitely a great app - a good balance of price and functionality. The only thing really limiting the app is the janky “file manager”included with iOS. However, the creator of this app has added the ability to specify / bookmark preferred directories which allows you to easily access specific files and folders. This lemon is definitely worth the squeeze..Version: 15.2.1

✓ Amazing app for a fantastic price - Possibly the developer app on IOSI downloaded the app after looking through some photos of it. I saw that it had the ability to use ssh/sftp and allowed the user to bring up a remote terminal in app! I like to develop in python and this is absolutely perfect for me as it allows me to write my scripts and then just pop a shell open using cmd+0 on my keyboard. It makes working remotely on my iPad very fast and efficient, I love it! It’s also perfect for my girlfriend who is currently learning web development alongside a few other things and has the same setup as me, an iPad and a keyboard. ✓ SolidSo far so good. Wish I could edit the top toolbar. I like using the arrows more than the circle but they become hidden in portrait mode. Works great on my iPad too. Actually the only issue I have had is with the mini shell. It’s very buggy and looks really weird. I’ll reach out to the devs though I’m sure it’s just a bug. I wouldn’t rely on this for SSH though. Compared to other Shell apps or Code Editors with built in shells this one is definitely a mini shell..Version: 14.1

It’s great for editing files on a remote server over SFTP without the download/upload workflow used by many other apps. Syntax highlighting, snippets, custom commands, keyboard shortcuts, and the extended “keybar” are icing on the cake. I was surprised at how much I use the “trackball” feature. While you can accomplish the same thing with force touch on the keyboard, the trackball feature is so much easier to use and control. It makes editing on the iPhone a breeze..Version: 15.2

For NodeJS development this is a must since you cannot run a local Node server on iOS. ✓ Fantastic code editor on iPad!I am a web designer and this is the first time I can say I can fully design a website from my iPad without any limitation. All your code is synchronised with your iCloud account, so you can carry on working on your computer later if you want. ✓ Nearly 100% of my jobFor a long time I have been striving to gather enough of the right applications in order to be able to execute 100% of my job role from an iPad, and my last stumbling block was having a decent editor that I could customize in such a way that I could quickly parse logs, highlighting only the error codes, more specifically, having unique colors for each one. GoCoEdit's recent updates bought first custom syntax code, which was the first step, then the very latest update bought the new custom themes. Combined, I am already sporting(thanks to the developer) a custom theme/syntax mode that high lights somer of the error codes. Speaking of the developer, I emailed him regarding a token question, and not only did he respond very quickly indicating that the feature I was looking for would be in the next release, but he also took the time to write a sample theme/syntax mode allowing me to leverage the existing tokens in the mean time. Faultless application, faultless customer service, and I am eagerly awaiting the next release, as I believe it will complete my requirements, and as such, I will be able to carry out every aspect of my job role, productively, and efficiently, on an iPad..Version: 8.2

✓ Great Development App that has many FeaturesThis is a very impressive app, and thanks for the new update, I love the interactive JavaScript console! The only problem/suggestion I have is when entering commands, etc into the new JavaScript console, and I need to type quotes, the keyboard by default types the rich text “fancy” quotes, not the plain text ones... so I get errors. And actually, now that there is the interactive console, I think it would just be a big improvement to have the extra row of ‘keys, on top of the keyboard, (just like when you’re in regular editing a file mode). ✓ Solid editorRarely leave reviews but have to comment this amazing app. Have it on my iPad Pro and iPhone and love it. Amazing code editor with great syntax highlighting. Connects to my SSH server at my host and lets me edit files directly (uploading them after edits). Built in SSH terminal lets me do quick operations like renaming folders and compressing files easily. The preview mode (with a URL in the connection setup) then opens an internal browser which displays the page. Multiple files and tabs open at once. It’s really everything I want to edit web scripts and code. Would change very little. Only thing I wish is that you can leave the preview or shell window open in a corner or half of the screen so you can make minor changes with the output side-by-side. ✓ Incredible, but good luck figuring it out.If you're an analyst, admin, or developer, this is a killer app for making a phone into a mobile office. It works seamlessly with Transmit, and offers a combination of text-editing features for the iPhone I've seen nowhere else on the App Store. The UI is unconventional, and takes about three minutes to understand. Similarly to "Pro" apps, there is good reason for this, as the iOS HIGs are not applicable to serious text editing. There's a lightweight command language exposed in the find prompt that I'd like to explore. ✓ Best coding text editorI've tested a lot of text editors for coding (in my case working remotely on an Ubuntu box), including Coda, Texttastic and others. None of them is perfect, but GoCoEdit is the best at the core task of editing code. Syntax highlighting works properly, language support is good, shortcut keys are meaningful, and it is fast. It feels good if you are used to Sublime or Atom. I use it with SSH/SFTP to a remote Linux box, without the bespoke adapter. One star taken off for the terminal which has some issues with CTRL keys, but I'm sure they will be fixed soon and in the meantime Serverauditor works well as a free SSH client..Version: 8.0

Not only that but the app's UI makes getting up to speed quick so I could get connected to my Dropboxes and SSH/SFTP sites crazy-fast. ✓ Feels like a desktop editorReally useful to have on the iPad Pro for a lightweight workspace to tweak embedded systems via SSH. The only major complaint I have is that it seems to insist on Internet access before it will allow a remote connection. I often use an Ethernet dongle to connect with embedded systems on private networks, so if I’m working in an environment where I can’t also connect to the Internet via WiFi, GoCoEdit becomes useless for no technical reason. ✓ Quite excellent editorAfter using this briefly over the past few days, I'm becoming quite impressed with it. One difference that has been helpful is that it also allows direct editing and server manipulation. (no not production, but great for dev and quick spin up environments.) Personally I realized I don't need to break my phone to allow for all my tools, and and after a quick spin up my phone can get access to everything I'd need. This fits that use case quite well. Because it has direct server manipulation, I don't have to worry about phone or whatever being out of date and constant synch errors and get things done in much faster than with something like coda or textastic (at least so far) Although it isn't well advertised, it does support an integrated SSH shell that is always and readily available. Along with snippets and very good blue tooth keyboard support and support for version control through other apps. Any issues I've had have been readily responded. You'll want to get a dedicated keyboard if you'll be doing a lot of scripting from scratch so this seems perfect for loading up pre-made files for small edits and testing. ✓ BEST app for any type of coding workThis is by far the best app to use if you are looking for a text editor. I work with sublimetext as well as visual studio on my pc, and I love how this included a dark appearance. I am a high school student who works in C++, HTML, Java, JavaScript, and Python regularly. I am familiar with most other languages, too. This tool has helped me on my iPhone, as I am able to work away from home. I connected an old Bluetooth keyboard to make things easier, but there is a feature called "joystick" which allows one to move the cursor around or to select any text so much more effectively, for the days when I am in a rush and don't pack it. I have used other apps and found them to be hard to use, and simply unreliable. I appreciate the work that has been put into this product, and it is DEFINITELY worth the seven bucks..Version: 9.1.2

However, a feature that has yet to make it on that list is the capability for GoCoEditor to compile/preview other filetypes, in addition to its pre-existing capability to preview Markdown and HTML files; if GoCoEditor were to provide this, I can say for certain that it would become ⁓Ꚍℎℰ⁓ ultimate mobile IDE and, as a result, would warrant a rating, in my opinion, of 5-stars. You literally have to delete each file then the folder.
