Denver Post Digital e-Edition for Positive User Reviews

Pleasantly surprisedI didn’t think I would like The Denver Post, let alone in an old time bulky “paper” format. But I do. While I prefer the WSJ, for US and World news, I still read the Denver Post every day in addition to WSJ. Besides, a couple of my favorite cartoons are here as well. If you want information from Denver, I highly recommend you don’t use Meta/Facebook nor Twitter as your source of “journalism”, go Denver Post, I think you will also be happily surprised as I am..Version: 3.5.08

Great app for reading digital paperI subscribe to newspapers around the world via my IPad. The Denver Post is the best. Set out as a traditional newspaper.tap in the article you want to read and it enlarges and becomes easy to read. Love it. Keeps me in touch with all things USA.Version: 3.5.08

Denver post digitalSometimes a challenge to access the desired article… page reverts to page one. However, overall, very helpful & easy to find articles. Would like to have it easier to share articles by sending an article in reading with someone who isn’t a subscriber. Any suggestions on making that easy to do would be appreciated. Thanks for producing a first class newspaper. Patty Mack.Version: 3.3.14

I like the new app! This is so easy to read I get through the paper much faster with exceedingly less frustration. It’s very easy to select an interesting article, isolate it on the right side of the page, and move on effortlessly to the next item . I am enjoying the paper so much more. Good work app designers!.Version: 3.2.46

Like the sharing featureThis app is pretty decent. I like that you can expand on page or open an article to read on mobile devices. Also appreciate the sharing feature - it’s nice to be able to easily send a text with a link to an article. One thing that could be smoother is the launch flow from the daily email preview. It always prompts for “remember my choice?” and I repeatedly check yes which means it’s never remembering my choice..Version: 3.2.46

Great InterfaceI work in publishing, so I appreciate a good user interface that mirrors the experience of reading the physical copy. The app is intuitive and easy to use. I love being able to see the layout of the features as they would appear in the print paper, while also being able zoom in on the individual articles and experience them in reader mode. I highly recommend this app..Version: 3.5.08

Easy to readOnce i got used to the new app, i liked the features & can read & navigate the paper easily. They do still put in a few flashing ads which i find very distracting & don’t appreciate in a paper i’m paying for. Also, i have asked them several times to add an additional font size in selected articles. It jumps from 1 to 1.5 which is too much. One is too small and 1.5 is too big. They need a 1.25 in between. Other than those two small complaints, i like the app..Version: 3.2.59

Ap format is greatAfter an initial get acquainted phase, I’ve really come to enjoy the format. I like being able to preview stories and determine the articles I want to read. I also like being able to get the comics even if I don’t get the paper..Version: 3.6.24

Great contentEasy to read , informative.Version: 3.6.24

Keeping in touch while awayOn vacation out of state and keeping in touch with the state news as well as national and international news on my phone. The DP app is significantly improved over the past several years. Easy to navigate pages and sections and to isolate and read individual articles. Excellent way to stay in touch..Version: 3.3.14

PerfectSince retiring to our new home in the foothills close to Florence, co, this is the first time that I have received the Denver post with out any glitches. I use my I-pad at the kitchen table every morning and love reading the paper at breakfast. In the past I often had to sign in with my password which would be rejected repeatedly which would then force me to open my e-mail to access the paper which was harder to navigate on my I-pad. My husband and I depend on getting our news by reading the daily newspapers. We believe that every citizen should educate themselves everyday by reading,Our country would be far better off than we are today..Version: 3.5.08

Like reading the daily, almost . . .The DP replica App works well most of the time. On a tablet especially being able to go enlarge the article easily makes reading the newspaper almost better than having the paper in your hand. There are times though where the flipping of pages gets finicky and doesn’t wan’t to “snap” to the next page or the arrow buttons stop functioning. Keep tweaking please!.Version: 3.2.52

Old becomes newWe have to figure our THE NEWS for our democracy to continue. Keep the faith as (you pick the metaphor). We MUST survive and endure. We need a national gatekeeper of the 4th estate that doesn’t allow or promote 2+2=5. The 4th estate is in its version of global climate change. I haven’t seen a bellwether yet. WTParker.Version: 3.5.08

Major improvements with the latest update. My previous rating was one star, but I’m taking it up to four stars with the latest updates to the iPad app. Major improvements, bravo! I would make it five except for pages snapping to the side covering text when you expand an article, page turn buttons still often go unresponsive if you pinch to reduce from the expanded view and it’s annoying that the page turn buttons disappear requiring one tap to wake up and another to turn the page. But overall, a much better experience with the updates..Version: 3.2.59

Review of Denver Post online versionI do enjoy the Post online but the funnies used to be a lot easier to navigate by simply swiping to the left to see the next cartoon. Now you have to get out of the cartoon you read in 3 seconds then choose the next one & so on. Swiping to the left or right is much faster. I wish it could be improved to the way it used to be..Version: 3.6.24

Denver Post Much Improved AppI’ve subscribed to the e-version of the Post for 13 years. As the technology has improved there are now very few glitches in my daily news. I love the various ways to navigate through today’s edition or previous days’ editions..Version: 3.3.14

At long last…… a stable, easy to use app that displays well—and fast—on modern, hi-resolution tablet displays that checks all the boxes: sticky authentication, check; quick loading (depending on your connection, of course), check; multiple view options, check; save/print/export options, check; and an option to translate articles into 11 other languages. (!!!) Finally, a simple but welcome change to the startup screen from the industrial bathroom floor texture to a simple deep red panel with the Post logo..Version: 3.2.52

Late Oct. 2020 update is awesome!!I think it is so important to support local newspapers and planned to do my reading on my iPad (though still sometimes browse the Sunday hard Old app was really bad by today’s standards. But to my surprise in late October there was an update and it is a complete overhaul. Liked it so much I posted this 4 stars for app rounded up to 5 because of good local coverage. Keep rockin the local news coverage!!.Version: 3.2.52

Denver Post onlineI loved reading the paper version of the Post but, with climate change and sustainability, I made the switch to online. Took a few weeks to let go of the ritual of the paper, now my IPad has taken its spot. It’s easy to read and save articles..Version: 3.5.08

Online paperAfter years of enjoying my news delivered to my home in the form of a morning paper at door, I gave the on line paper a chance. I have successfully adapted and now enjoy the Denver Post just as much daily whether in town or away..Version: 3.5.08

Love my digital newspaper!I love that this digital format of newspaper allows the reader to either read the article as if holding the newspaper or tapping on the article and seeing the entire article without having to flip pages. The Denver Post keeps meKnowledgeable about what is going on in Colorado, our country and our planet..Version: 3.2.59

Great App!Love getting up early and having the news at my fingertips. Don't have to go outside to fetch the paper. And no matter the weather, the news is available. In addition, the cost of the online Denver Post is significantly less than the paper version..Version: 3.5.08

Love seeing the full page layoutBeing able to see how the paper is laid out is a big part of understanding how editors prioritize the news. This app allows me to easily follow a story when clicking on it, but also judge the importance of the story by seeing where it’s placed within the paper. I get a more comprehensive look at the news and feel like I’m getting the same experience I loved when I used to received my paper copy..Version: 3.5.08

DP digitalStill miss my physical paper, but living in the mountains it is the only way to get the news first before 6am... I do like the layout of the app and the controls it afforded us. Jumping froward or back to a given section is easy. Not sure if it is my tablet or app, but sometimes after zooming in or out it takes awhile to refocus, minor stuff really. If that the worst of it, my day is just fine..Version: 3.2.52

New version is niceI still enjoy this version of the paper! The newest version was hard to get used to but I really like it now! The ability to read an entire story without flipping back and forth is great! It is so much more enjoyable than the web version! Thanks so much for keeping this version!.Version: 3.3.14

Denver Post daily digitalI like that the colored highlight feature brings up the complete article without regard to which page(s) it appears on in the printed version. And, of course, when highlighted, the article can be enlarged to a comfortable level for a reader’s vision..Version: 3.3.14

Going downhill fastIf I had a choice to read the Denver Post in another reader I would. The current version only lets you look back, but once you have passed a date hope you never want to look at that paper. I am only able to read the current paper on a daly bases. After two weeks I can look at all back issues again. I also have noticed that the picture sometimes will shrink up when you zoom in..Version: 3.2.46

Denver Post Replica is the best!In the 60s, I would sit in the floor reading the RMN as I folded the papers for my three routes. I loved reading the News from cover to cover, often stuffing “inserts” (Sunday comics and/or advertising). Then after baseball-basketball-football practice I’d go home and share sections with my dad while reading the Post. As a rifleman in Vietnam my dad would send me his DP and I was able to enjoy keeping up with Denver. Years later, as I rode light rail, I would again read the RMN, mostly because the DP layout wouldn’t be conducive to crowds and elbow room. Then wanting to conserve paper, I found DP Replica. Wow! I really love having the ability to read it anywhere. ¡Perfecto! Thank you, Hawk.Version: 3.5.08

Convenient newsI’ve been enjoying reading my news in the Post each morning digitally. Using my iPad I can easily turn pages and increase the font size when necessary. The new format has been much better as I can easily navigate through the news. I still look forward to my paper edition on the weekend..Version: 3.2.49

GenerallyThe paper presents news in a factual model. The coverage is a good blend national and international news. The neighborhood news is broad and covers most city/ county events and activities. Sports coverage of local teams and special events is balanced and Reflects the spirt of home teams. Perspective sometimes lacks Coverage and opinion from both sides of an issue. But it is a good form for people to express views on current issues. I think the paper could do more with employment and job posting. It needs to be refreshed. The home section presents local and national trends in life style and food. The coverage is fair ,but needs more exposure to areas outside of Denver .people would be interested if you featured a different town or city each week. Thank you.Version: 3.3.14

Better than many othersExcept for the full page furniture ads, it’s really nice to feel like you are paging through a “real “ newspaper instead of reading a blog, like so many of the other news apps. Also, enlarging and shrinking articles to read on screen works flawlessly. I hate how other apps flip you into text mode when you tap on an article. I highly recommend using a 12-inch tablet and an easel or music stand, so you can read the paper while eating breakfast, just like the old days..Version: 3.2.52

App UpgradeIt’s difficult to believe you consider this latest version of the digital DP to be an upgrade. Rule # 1 in business: Never make it difficult for your customers to do business with you. I subscribe to several digital versions of print media. DP’s digital product is easily the worst It’s gotten better, or maybe I’m just getting use to it, but I am slowly being won over..Version: 3.5.08

You Blew ItTo put it succinctly, your recent ‘UPDATE(?)’ of your DP app is a loser! The old app worked just fine. In fact I sent a recommendation to the LA Times to your the previous version of your app as a model for them to improve theirs. As it stands now, your updated(?) app takes me to your Welcome Page (with 3-options); and when I select the <app> option it takes me to the App Store; then gives me one option to <open> your DP app; when I select <open>, it takes me back to the Welcome Page and the same 3-options. I’ve repeated this cycle several times daily and then I give up. To help your website designer, I will reduce the size of your databaseI - won’t be renewing my subscription! Ps: I’ll be surprised if this review read by someone who gives a ‘rip’!.Version: 3.5.05

Denver Post App Easy to UseIt’s true I miss the feel of the newspaper in my hands everyday but the Denver Post App is a great solution to read the daily news. It took me a couple days to master navigation but once you do … reading the post is something to look forward to each day. TV news does a fair job but you get much more in the post..Version: 3.5.05

OnlineI was resistant to going online for REAL news for a long time, but am glad that I finally joined the 21st century. My ‘paper’ never gets buried in the snow and I can make the print as large as I want. A few of the updates have made it more cumbersome but that’s okay..Version: 3.5.08
