Pocket Sergeant - Police Guide for Positive User Reviews

👌🏼This app has been extremely useful to me even as a PCSO. If you're unsure of something you can search & find it within seconds on the app. It has also helped me massively with my studying for the CKP! Definitely worth it for 99p a month..Version: 2.5.2

Top appFor those within the police this app is truly fantastic. It contains all the legislation and powers you could possibly need in a handy, easily accessible database. Yes, it does have a 99p per month subscription but that is truly worth it. The app is continually updated in line with changes within the law. This is unlike other law apps I have seen that are out of date. The reference library is especially useful with documents such as gravity matrix, PACE codes, charging guidance, and crime recording standards to name but a few. If you're on the front line this is the most useful app you can have. Don't be put of with 99p a month that you won't notice!.Version: 2.5.2

This App is Very helpful and has not let me down. This is one of the best apps (if not the best) I have come across on UK law and enforcement, it is well lied out, and has not let me down. Has a Youth Support Worker working with Young People in the local community I alway get asked question’s about the law and their right and what may happen to them. This app allows me to give good information to Young People and their Carers which I have used many of a time when asked a question. This app helps the Young People to make informed choices sometime not the right one, but they are endowed with the knowledge of what may happen to them it the do make the wrong choice. Also I feel this app allows me to empower Young People, Carers with good knowledge and information. It has help take incidents up to the next reporting level when it was needed. Thank You PocketSgt..Version: 2.5.2

Seriously?Absolutely love the App. I purchased it during training and have used it everyday since - it is what it says on the tin. When the inevitable time came that the App would require subscription, the users were warned WELL in advance and the reasons why were fully explained. 99p for full access, continuous updates and support and even the ability to suggest items in future updates - absolute no brainer. For the few saying they will now go elsewhere... Where exactly? This is the only legal database worth having that you can actually navigate around!.Version: 2.5.4

BrilliantUse it every week, and great to see it updated regularly. Yes PVH has more content, but this is a million times easier and quicker to use ‘on a job’. Worth 99p a month, can’t even buy a cup of coffee for that these days. Can’t believe people moan about the price for something that constantly kept up to date. * lost a star as its very buggy of late..Version: 2.5.9

Highly recommendBought this as I often need to have a means of quick reference to legalisation and it’s almost impossible to remember all of it! (Plus it came highly recommend by a lot of my colleagues ) It’s simple to use, quick, regularly updated and includes everything you need to know to go about your daily policing role. Yes there’s the PNLD if your sat at a computer but if your out and about it’s no use. Can’t recommend enough. Best few quid I’ve spent!.Version: 2.5.4

App not workingThe new update is not opening the app. App is not working when trying to renew the subscription it gets stuck on update..Version: 28.0

Well worth it.I had this app and then changed to an alternative when the subscription was introduced. I soon reverted back to pocket Sgt! The alternative was poor by comparison, as it held probably a third of the information on here. I use this app most days and find the information more concise and the app is far quicker and easier to use than PNLD. The offence codes are a godsend! Love it!.Version: 2.5.2

Really useful and informative 🚓I've been using the app for a while now and it's packed with useful information and points to prove. I find the checklists very handy and the standard mnemonics help to refresh your knowledge. It's definitely worth subscribing to at least thank the owner for all the hard work they have put into this app. Make this your go to app! 🚔.Version: 2.5.2

Neat little AppThis is a great app. Easy to use and getting better all of the time. I initially felt annoyed that I had to pay a monthly subscription but for what you get 99p is nothing and well worth the money for the updates that you get. I often refer to the app whilst in work just to clarify a point. Really useful having the CCCJ codes to hand..Version: 2.5.4

Happy to pay subs for the serviceI have used this app since I became a police officer and have found it invaluable in my day-to-day role as a frontline officer. The sheer volume of legislation, useful contacts and checklists are invaluable helping me to do my job properly and efficiently. The paltry sum of £4 one off + £1 per month is less than the Queen gets off me most days. Thanks to the developer for continuing this service and taking steps to make it better..Version: 2.5.2

Great App worth the costGreat little app this. If you need just a little bit a help on the law as we all do it is really helpful just to get your phone out and search the relevant legislation you need. It seemed a no brained to sign up for the subscription- it will only lead to a better more through app. Fantastic Work keep it up.Version: 2.5.2

Easy to useIve not started in the police yet but knowing this app exists and it will help me when im doing my degree has put my mind at rest. Just having a quick look at it, its easy to navigate and i love the cake fines section 😂.Version: 6.0

Must HaveThis app is excellent for new probationers, seasoned bobbies on the countdown to retirement, and all those in between. Legislation updates and new features always spot on. Well worth the subscription..Version: 20.0

Great app but very disappointed with the new subscriptionAs said I think this is a very good app and is extremely detailed. However I'm very disappointed to see a monthly subscription introduced after so long. I appreciate that it costs money to produce you'd think you'd be covered by the fact you'd paid for the app to begin with..Version: 2.5.2

Seems great so farAs a probationer this seems to be a really helpful reference, and I can see myself using it frequently in the future. I'm mostly using it to revise my definitions whilst out and about, and for this alone it's brilliant. It's great value for money considering the printed equivalent from Blackstones will set you back £25! And I find this much easier and quicker to access the information I require. I'm not subscribing yet, but I would consider it should the need arise..Version: 2.5.4

Good app but......every time I load the app, it wants me to sign into itunes then it wants me to subscribe. I then have to say I want to subscribe for it to give me a pop up thats says I have subscribed. Its really frustrating as often when using this I am in a ‘dynamic’ situation! The other frustrating thing is that before you can use the app it makes you update it (in app not app store). Some CJ codes are missing. Other than that this app is cracking and I feel its worth the 99p a month. If I was a probationer then more so. Even as a 10 yr skipper I cant know everything😀.Version: 2.5.9

Fantastic app - you don't get anything for freeIn the modern world, everyone wants everything for free. How do they expect people to invest time and effort into creating an application like this and then give it away for free?! I'm more than happy with the 99p subscription. It's so useful to have at hand. At the end of the day, it's being used on a £700 phone. What's 99p?.Version: 2.5.2

Great app butI have subscribed and the money comes out my account every month but when I open the app it keeps saying “SUBSCRIBE” so I don’t know if my subscription is active or not? But they still take the money..Version: 2.5.15

Great App - I use it daily. This is a brilliant app, it’s constantly updated and easy to use. It is amazing how many people seem to begrudge 99p a month subscription for what is effectively a portable and searchable black stone book. Support a small company with the right ethos and give this app a go!.Version: 6.0

SuperbFantastic app which is just getting better and better. Content has vastly increased and improved since subscriptions were brought in and seems to be updates most times I fire it up. Must have app for anyone in the police, it’s a great little tool to look to when considering offences, looking up wordings/offence codes and even great as a little aid for those 4am statements on a nightshift when your brain no longer functions correctly. The checklists are great and would like to see this area expanded. Keep up the good work!.Version: 2.5.4

A handy toolVery handy to have when you need to check your powers. I would recommend this app to anyone within the service. I’ve read a few of the negative reviews and am totally astonished at how tight my colleagues are. 99p it’s no big deal, most things are subscriptions these days and still works out cheaper than buying a hard copy each year from blackstones. Might stop you starting in a “dumb cop gets owned” you tube video..Version: 2.5.7

FantasticAs I am looking to join the police, learning the law is a pretty good place to start. PocketSgt is a very nice simple app not bucket loads of writing and complicated words (like on the internet) Great app and happy to pay for the subscription! Keep up the good work guys..Version: 2.5.2

Fantastic AppI normally do not write any review but this app is brilliant. I am an police officer and I use this app on a daily basis. As we get older our knowledge get rusty but with this app no problem at all. I have had many other app so far this one is the best..Version: 2.5.4

Let DownHi I love the app and have been a subscriber since day 1. I’m disappointed though that one can only get in touch with developers via social media. Since I have NO social media, I can’t get in touch...they should make an email address available at the very least. Having said that, I think it’s important to also mention the need to have an app that opens quickly for fast referencing/referencing on the go. I think that bit is vital actually. The current opening/loading time is way too slow...for comparison, the time it took to load before the changes/new app was ideal... Thanks Daniel.Version: 5.0

Fantastic App!Thank you for this wonderful app. For those complaining about the subscription model, the creator of the app has told people time and time again that he retired as an officer to focus on this app and to help up and coming and experienced officers to remember things they would forget and only for 99p! You can buy an ice cream which is gone in 50 seconds for that much let alone an app which gives you endless resources and information. Thank you..Version: 2.5.2

Spot on!I love this App, it’s ideal to have it hand when required at the touch of a button. There’s always a time where your not near a computer for PNLD and you need some assistance with points to prove or the charging codes. No gripes from me, happy to pay 99p per month..Version: 2.5.2

Must have for new pc’sAs a new pc this was fantiastic! Definitely helped when building files for court and knowing what to expect when asking supervision for a charging decision. Well worth the small subscription!.Version: 17.0

Brilliant AppThis is an excellent App and very easy to refer to out in the street or at the station when you need to quickly check legislation. Keep up the excellent work!.Version: 34.0

Build a bridge and get over it.Yes, you had to shell out £3.99 (2 cheap coffees) for an app and God forbid now you need to pay £0.99 a month. After reading the reviews shaming the developer and calling him greedy the only person looking like a mug is you. IMHO, this app is fantastic, it's well built, has ongoing support and updates. Definitely worth the money..Version: 2.5.2

Very Useful! Well worth the cost of a cheeseburger once a month..Great tool. Recently applied the monthly subscription cost, I believe it is great value for money. I'm using it regularly both on shift and off, many times in the parade room it has been used to answer questions between different officers when working through enquiries. It has all the important points you need day to day..Version: 2.5.2

Re-reviewI’ve downloaded this some time ago, prior to the subscription! The app is updated regularly and issues that arise are quickly rectified. The app has served me well and has provided all the help and definitions I’ve needed. The subscription is not something I want to pay for every month but I will do this every other month! Download!.Version: 2.5.8

Brilliant app but one concern….you have removed infrequently used tabs…how do you know which tabs are/are not being used? The privacy policy states that no data is being collected by the developer! Both statements cannot be true..Version: 42.0

Good for reference but has its issues. The app is excellent for quick reviewing but has its issues. Some of the searching for legislation on the side alphabet is a little mixed up and every time I go to search for anything on the top bar, it crashes and closes down so you have to flick all the way through..Version: 2.5.5

Subscription should not be reminded each time you log inDecent app but each time you open it, it continually asks for a subscription. If users want to subscription for 99p then they will. Being bombarded constantly isn't the way to "sell" an app. You can argue about updated legislation etc etc and keeping app updated however that shouldn't mean I have to keep seeing a reminder to subscribe. I've already paid £4 for it. Either make it a subscription app or a direct one-time payment app.Version: 20.0

Great AppAs a student police officer I use pocket sergeant everyday and it is very useful and helpful. Pocket sergeant is extremely useful not only when at a job but also as a general guide. I would recommend this app to everyone..Version: 2.5.6
