Than they ask you to either pay or play a mini challenge to get on. It is only after level 6 (I believe), that you have to make a decision about the in app purchase. Even I played it when my kids went to bed , finally $14.99 for the whole game / kit to unlock the 4 or 5 levels remaining , was so disappointed that it ended the way it did !!!
