Great so far but one addition would make it perfectBeen using this app now for a few days and find it works very well. I’m torn between my Fitbit app because it integrates my music in app. I would like to see my iTunes music control integrated in the app so I don’t have to flip between apps. Otherwise, great product!.Version: 4.06

Great app, great supportGreat app, great support! When I first got this I accidentally loaded a faulty GPX file. I asked support what was up – they said send them the file, which they proceeded to fix and send back within an hour. Can't beat that! The app itself has everything you could ask for, is easy to operate, doesn't use that much battery, and is very affordable. I'm a happy customer..Version: 2.11

Superb app!Love it, worth every penny!.Version: 1.35

Love this appI downloaded this app when I got my Apple watch. It does exactly what I want it to do. Don't have to get my phone out when I'm walking to see how far I've done - just glance at my watch. And then when I'm back home I can see more details on my phone. When I messaged the developers with an issue I had with the measurement units on my watch the replied quickly to say it was being addressed, and then they emailed me again to say the new update had fixed the issue. Couldn't have asked for better service..Version: 2.12

DelightfulGreat. Affordable, simple but powerful. This app packs a lot of useful functions, like scrolling graphs and elevation views, into a beautiful and easy to use package. The (very cheap) subscription model insures that the app developers will be able to continually update the app. I would be very excited to see iPad and Mac version that all sync to an iCloud Drive folder (instead of import/export) so as to keep all my tracks in a single, easily accessible location. I have tried many, many GPS apps and this might be my favorite..Version: 1.02

Good for meI've tried just about every app like this and thought I found a couple. The time, milage, speed are right close to my watch. I like the interface I enjoy riding (which I'vr done a great deal). Not a racer but not one that rides a few mikes either. For medical issues I was homebond for 20 months. Ny encoligest last month recommended riding in s stationary bike. Told her no way was I peddling know where. Didn't want je on a two wheel as my boned are brittle. Mentioned a recumbent trike, she like thst idea so I brought one. aI want to lose the weight gained. Added to that I moved to because of the dr I was given(VA), so I'm not real familiar with the area. Won't ride main Streets, so anther issue. THIS app gived me speed(graft) distance, heart rate (graft), average speed, distance. I understand many others do basically the same but this is presented grafically in a way thst others are not. This is the first time I was able to set a pace and better abke to manage it without looking at my watch witch is a distraction at times. This will be the first app of its type that I will contribute to the Dev. Remember we have different needs, this app meets MY needs, then some.Version: 4.09

This app shines!Got this for logging trails in remote areas of Colorado. Maaaaaan, this thing is solid!! It has worked flawlessly for the last year in areas where cell service is nonexistent. Works in the background too and doesn't interfere with any other functions. Opted for the 'pro' level to be able to export and share saved routes. For 5 bucks a year, no automatic renewal nonsense and great customer support (read: directly answered a concern here in the ratings ) you can't go wrong!.Version: 2.13

Great tool as a geotrackerFrom time to time the geolocation is off by many meters but most of the time it works well when hiking in the Rockies. Pro account is worth the money for the given map resolution. Great option to export to google earth and other formats..Version: 1.13

Thank you for making this amazing app available.I have been using the pro version of this app for more than 5 years without any issues on my iPhones. For those of you that complained about the subscription fees was unbelievable. For less than a cup of coffee you get all the pro features for an entire year and if your worried about updates, all I can say is if it ain’t broken, you don’t need to fix it. Thank you. Awesome app..Version: 4.09

Brilliant AppI do a lot of solo motorcycle riding, this app has been great, no crashes and does exactly what it says. Paid for the three month subscription but will definitely upgrade to the twelve. Good work guys keep it up..Version: 1.23.1

A must have appI couldn't live without this app! It's very rewarding to see your efforts plotted out on a map after a long hike. I've just upgraded to pro, well worth the small cost!.Version: 1.15

Fantastic app! Finally found an app that tracks everything well including inline skating and I can overlay charts to review heart rate, pace distance etc! If I could customise metrics displayed on Apple Watch a little more it would be perfect. Great app thanks!.Version: 4.02

Feature packed GPX tracking appReally love this app and despite looking have found nothing that is as comprehensive. My only (very minor) complaint is that recently there seems to be a bug that has crept in. I find that after shutting off the app on my iPhone, the Watch app sometimes stays on and won't turn off unless I reboot the watch..Version: 3.0

Perfect for meI am using this app for more than 7 years EXCELLENT working every where Just love ❤️ Richard.Version: 4.09

Stellar ProductI've been using Trails for the past 2 years to record my hiking and backpacking trips. I haven't found a better, free, product available on the app store since I installed Trails. I use Trails online and offline and it works great for both. Last weekend on a backpacking trip, I recorded 9 miles of trails over the course of 5 hours and the app only used 20% of the phone's battery. With some small adjustments, plus airplane mode, tracking wilderness trails is easy and efficient. On longer trips I usually bring a backup USB battery charger and I almost never have to use it because this app is so efficient. To date I've tracked 200 trails and about 500 miles with the Trails app!.Version: 2.13

It does what it shouldI have been using the Trails app for about seven years. Recently the Trails app stopped working with the latest iOS. I was forced to buy the app in it’s new form and in so doing all of my other hiking data was trapped in the old unsupported app. I wrote an email to customer help and believe it or not, I actually was helped. It wasn’t a simple solution, but they walked me through it and stuck with it over an exchange of approximately 10 emails. These people really do support their app. I couldn’t be happier to have not lost all of that data. The new app is way better than the old one and has much better graphics. I think it’s money well spent for the Trails pro.Version: 4.03

Amazing abandoned appWithout a very affordable subscription, this app has limited utility. Abandoned, but still not outdated. Wish it had lasted longer. RIP.Version: 4.09

Go for it!I love this app. It is a great addition to the Apple watch, and works very well as a trail running app for the watch. I live in the mountains and run with it almost everyday. I have been very impressed with the balance this app finds, between having a clean interface, and having a good depth of features. I love the options given in run on the watch, and then the detailed stats you can get afterwards on the phone. Having Elevation gain is a great feature and seems relatively accurate. I also love the great web display when sharing routes or tracks with others. All in all, this is a very nice app for outdoor sports, and i would recommend it for serious runners, not just people who do light jogs. Lastly, the support i have had with this app has been fantastic. I had a few questions and comments, and they were promptly answered with good feedback. If anyone is wondering if this is worth the subscription, it certainly is, go for it!.Version: 3.01

Feature-packet and really goodA great navigation app for walking, hiking, and cycling; being able to store detailed maps offline, follow publicly available trails, create & share new ones, track progress as well as altitude, speed, etc, and take photos along the way makes this app a great companion for all outdoorsy people..Version: 1.13

Good App for Mountain BikingFirst I'd like to say the negative reviews below have nothing to do with the apps functionality. It's someone who doesn't want to pay for the Pro version (which really isn't required) and user error. In terms of functionality this app is actually really good! It provides a ton of information for a plethora of activities and is easy on your devices battery life. It pairs very well with an Apple Watch and I enjoy getting a detailed report of my ride. If you enjoy being outdoors hiking, biking, canoeing, or even just exploring, give this app a shot. It will only get better the more people use it and provide feedback..Version: 2.11

Was brilliant but seem no longer supportedI used to love this app and pay for the yearly pro licence. However not been able to renew my pro licence since it expired in 2021.. Hopefully support will oneday return. That’s the trouble with a yearly licence, if the developer packs it in you can’t even keep running the old version until you get something better. A more expensive lifetime licence at least you keep use of that version..Version: 4.09

Download, you won’t regret itTrails is a great app for tracking all your hikes. I have been using it for several years now and they have really improved the app. I would suggest upgrading to the pro version as it’s reasonably priced and you can download very detailed maps for those hikes without any cell service. The companion app for the apple watch is great too..Version: 4.0

GoodThe only thing I don’t understand is what the hell are track points? There are no calories.Version: 4.06

A Versatile AppThis is a nice app. I primarily use it for hiking. It has some nice features. It integrates with the camera to save pics along your hike track. Also works with Ihealth. Very reliable data collector and with latest update allows for full backup to iCloud. Maps are a little lackluster but downloads can be done which allow full use without being in cell coverage..Version: 1.28

Simply the best :)Simply the best map app so far - happy days :).Version: 2.14

Best of its kindI have tried out just about every tracking app in the App Store and Trails is quickly becoming my go-to. The other apps have had reliability or battery issues, or offered a less elegant review and sharing experience. Trails seems to excel with all those issues and more. Take the pro option - it is cheap and sans subscription I believe. Another advantage for the user..Version: 2.11

Brilliant hike assistantI have been using this for a couple of years now - both on regular trails and those less well visited. It is a superb tool while hiking and for post-hike-analysis (I have been able to use the trail results to plot new trail data on OpenStreetMap). The App lost some functionality in 2019, but the latest version has addressed those issues. I give this App a high rating because i trust it, and it gets me home with the data I need..Version: 4.09

Excellent app.Works a treat. Very, very pleased with the app. I would really like an iPad version please..Version: 4.06

Nice route trackerIt's a good app that plots your routes on a map with lots of details about speed, altitude, pace etc. I think the duration needs adjusting so the timer is paused when you go to continue on from a previous segment otherwise it adds that time you are not using the app onto the duration.Version: 1.15

Good, long overdue updates; new bug; still a missing featureAfter a multi-year delay (unconscionable for a subscription-based app), the recent 4.07 and 4.08 updates fixed a bunch of misc issues. Response is *much* snappier. Even with my 400+ tracks, bringing up the list of all of them is almost instantaneous instead of a multi-second slog. And starting a new track is also much faster and no longer seems to lead sometimes to a completely black app screen. So overall, great updates. But they introduced a new bug. The Trails widget on the Today View now tries to handle dark mode (which I use), but Trails' black text is not readable in that mode. And Trails still lacks the important ability to do a bulk upload of all tracks as individual GPX files. Uploading them one at a time via the app's web UI is excruciatingly slow, and any tracks with certain special characters have to be renamed manually. An iOS update sometime in the last year or so enhanced the Health app to include GPX files that apps like Trails supply to it, but only a fraction of them arrive, and Trails' track names aren't included in the uploaded filenames. So the Health app's upload feature isn't a sufficient workaround for not having a bulk upload feature in Trails. Before these recent updates, I was actively looking for a replacement for Trails, which appeared to be an abandoned, subscription app. With this update, it's back to 4 stars for me. Bulk track upload would make it 5 stars..Version: 4.08

Love this app!!!I spend a lot of time in the mountains all year round and have tried a number of different apps but this one definitely works the best whether I be hiking or skiing. I love that you can set it to stop recording when you get back to your starting point, as I sometimes forget. It provides a ton of helpful info about each outing from elevation gain to average speed. It can even use an offline map. There are lots of great features to this app. It has become one of my most used apps. Thanks for creating such a fabulous program!.Version: 1.23.1

Best outdoor GPS app I've foundTrails is a superb application. You can import GPX files from many sources, and download sections of openstreetmaps for offline use. I've been following these GPX trails / this app for the last 4 months cycling and it has been excellent..Version: 1.35

Accurate, reliable, feature richI used the app on a couple of hikes and bike rides (the longest was over 10 hrs and I still had 25% battery left on an iPhone 6 plus). The recording was very reliable and accurate (in contrast to some other apps I tried). It has tons of useful features and shows relevant statistics. I especially like the fact that it doesn't require to sign up for some membership. Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.31

I like this appThis app is great but it would be even better if I could plan my route in advance on the map. Great value for money..Version: 2.13

Using Pro and it's Great AppI started with free version and decided to go for the pro. I don't remember what I felt the pro app would give me, that I needed, but the price is low. Anyway, I'm an old guy and lost a lot of my walking and cycling strength. Admittedly, due to laziness. I've been trying to walk often, gradually increasing the length. Living in Las Vegas that usually doesn't work in summer where temperatures are usually over 100 F and go up to 115 F or so. Then I swim, but the rest of year I like to walk and to keep track of all walks to see how I'm doing and to keep motivated. Added Note: I'm still walking and now up to a slow mile without rest. I combine this with physical therapy and the helps.Version: 2.11

Fantastic App !I paid Pro for the detailed statistics and graphs! Looking forward to more statistics , for example, summary for each time periods and maps based altitude! (Currently it's GPS based which not accurate all the time!).Version: 2.12

Excellent appThis is by far the best tracking app I've used. It starts up quickly, doesn't slow down my phone, has great charts and graphs that break down your trips and a neat option to stop tracking once you return to your starting point. All in all a solid app..Version: 1.26

This is a great app.I have been using Trails since the very old days… the first iteration lacked a few things… but that was a LONG time ago. This app is great now. It does exactly what I want it to do, very reliably. Felix gave me great tech support in a timely manner and it is even better now! I highly recommend!.Version: 1.04

Nearly FlawlessI love this app. The interface is clean and intuitive. The subscription fee is VERY reasonable. You can easily add photos, waypoints, notes, etc. during hikes, or after the fact. Trails is a great app for outdoor adventures! With a few small improvements, I'd give it 5 stars: 1. It would be excellent if they added an iPad version. 2. I'd like to see an easy way to sync between devices. 3. For imported tracks (GPX), it would be nice if they showed up in the activity categories (e.g. "Hiking" or "Biking"), not just under "Imported Tracks". 4. Make it easier to switch map types. This is easy while recording, but when not recording, you have to navigate through the app settings. 5. Add a route-planning feature..Version: 3.01

Great appI love this app used many times for hiking trips. Works great. With internet or not. Just download the Section you are hiking be for you leave. I used this app on 6 hour hike with internet and listened to my playlist on i-phone. Sill had 20% power when back a car..Version: 1.31

Great app!Awesome app! One thing I did notice was that if you don't completely close the app every session it will not write the information to the Health app. I did a test run for 0.1 miles and it wrote it to Health but then I went on a 5.4 mile bike ride and it didn't write it. Quitting the app every session is a solution to this. Overall great app!.Version: 1.01

Great training appI use this app every other day on my 10 mile walking route through town. It seems to poll the GPS more often than other similar apps, giving a more accurate and detailed route. It also lets you review your pace, barometric pressure, etc. throughout the route using color coding. Overall a great training app. Can be used without a subscription, but it will only hold five workouts at a time if you do that. I just erase the oldest and record a new one. Of course if you want all your stats you'll want to subscribe..Version: 4.02

MrBest app in the world.Version: 3.02

Love the GPS track export featureVery useful for one off recording of your runs or skates. On the paid version you can load external GPX to follow that route too!.Version: 2.11

Fantastic ApplicationI use this for my bike rides to track my distance, speeds, pace and whatnot. I payed 4.99 for a year of Trails Pro, and it has turned out to be an amazing purchase. I highly recommend this app to runners, walkers, hikers, cyclists and more out there. Although I love it, it's not perfect, hence the four star rating, although exceptionally close. A must-download!!!.Version: 1.32

Good GPS appIt can import heart rate data from Health, too (make sure you can see the data in Health before you finish the run). Strava export would be nice!.Version: 1.13

Easy and functionalVery happy with the app and also how simple the watch app works. Happy with purchase.Version: 4.01

Best appThis truly is an exceptional app. It allows you to very simply record your trail, see all sorts of useful data about your trail records (such as speed, length, elevation profile, etc), and with a click of two you can email the trail to yourself do you can open and view the track in Google Earth. It is exceptionally easy to use, reliable, and best of all it is free! This is probably the best app I have (and I have a lot!). The developers deserve a ton of credit - well done..Version: 2.1

EasyInstalled the app and pressed start. Ended up with all you would expect and a bit more. Suggest learning to use the offline maps feature as the app can be hard on limited mobile data plans..Version: 1.28

Perfect for Offline Adventures!I don't understand the negative reviews of this app. Why does everyone expect that all apps and features are free these days? This app is amazing and I gladly pay for this service/product. Use it all the time on my hikes, runs, motorbike rides, you name it. I've tried a number of gps apps and this one is by far the best one out there. I had been hunting around for a long time to find an app that allows waypoint tracking to offline maps. Trails has a number of maps to choose from and with the OSM maps, I was able to download the area I was planning the trip for, save some waypoints and away you go! Love it! Excellent customer support too..Version: 2.01

Slickest GPS Recorder for iOSTrails is the best designed and most functional of all GPS tracking apps I've tried. Unlike other cheapskate reviewers, I find it is well worth the price for continuing to support independent developers making such useful apps. Keep up the good work!.Version: 1.14

Very nice and Easy to use2018 Been using Trails regularly for about three years now and find it incredibly useful whether when riding my bike for exercise, horseback riding, to review performance when sailing, to keep track of long road trips or even recording a boat sea trial. Has all the features needed and very reliable. 2015 I have only installed this app recently and used it a couple of times while horseback riding Works great, stable, good features Only gripe is that it cannot be installed on my iPad to view tracks. This is the first time I come across an app which simply doesn't show up in the App Store on my iPad whether by searching, looking at purchased apps (both iPhone or iPad only). Even when searching using publishers name../. Too bad it would be nice to review a ride on a big screen.Version: 4.06

Perfect application!!!Very good application!!! I tried them all and this one is the best, easy to use with full options. Great with iwatch only!!! Mike.Version: 2.11

Easy to use. Packed with features.Great app. Easy to use. Packed with features. Good price. Can easily download maps for offline use; also, different map styles available, including topographical. Easy to import/export and share with friends..Version: 4.06

ExcellentThis is a brilliant app it does what you want just try it its perfect You can see were you have been on a really informative map brilliant.Version: 4.06

Lots to like here!I found a lot to like with this app. I wanted a tracking app so I could geotag my photos: adding GPS coordinates to my travel photos so I would know where they were taken. Trails allows me to export the track file (email, Dropbox, iCloud…) so I can import it to my computer. Using a separate app (Lightroom) I can use the date and time from each photo, and the track log, to geotag the photos. I can also import the track into Google’s MyMaps to have a permanent record of that trip (hiking, biking, or by car). Trails also imports biking distances directly into the iPhone health app, so I can see how far I rode each week, months, etc. Yeah. Very useful..Version: 4.09

Gets more intuitive with each updateI love this app. I now have a complete inventory of my hikes and bike rides over the last couple of years. And all without internet access..Version: 3.01

Go to app...For hiking and running. Excellent GPS mapping and stat collection, very user friendly and un cluttered. Would love to see a few improvements: Total elevations count, not just top to bottom once. If you hike up 300 ft 3 times in the same hike, you would get 900ft total gain... Also, a larger area to download offline maps, the selection area is so small!.Version: 1.34

Great appI love the way it automatically stops when you get back to where you started. The amount of times I’ve driven home and forgotten to stop a workout is a bit embarrassing 😳.Version: 3.02

The best I've tried so far..and I've tried a lot. I use this app specifically for walking, it's very intuitive and the iwatch app displays exactly what I need. I did have a problem where (in the UK) the watch only displayed km but I contacted their support (who got back to me within minutes!) and this has been fixed in this version. If you're looking for a Trails app, I'd definitely give this one a go..Version: 2.12

Just what I neded for tracking hikesHave used the app extensively for a year now, tracking each hike long or short. Has been great even during hikes to follow and select the right trail. Very satisfied with the relative accuracy and will last up to seven hours before killing your phone. Only improvement I'd like to see is make text on maps bigger so my old eyes can read it!.Version: 3.01

Wonderful and reliableI love this app so much. I've been using it for over a year and it's always been super reliable and awesome. It shows you your speed and the altitude changes, which I love so much. The only thing it's missing is something to tell me approximately how many calories I burned! But other than that, it's the best app ever! Highly recommend..Version: 1.29

Excellente application!

Best App Out ThereThis is by far the best outdoor activity tracking app available in the App Store..Version: 3.0

Robust, reasonably pricedGreat app. I use it mostly for hiking and it's useful for navigating--finding small trails that aren't blazed. This app has tons of features and is reasonably priced. The support documentation could be a little more detailed, explaining, for example, the on-map features like the three versions of the arrowhead. I'd like to have the ability to add an alert when I reach a predetermined point on a map..Version: 1.31

I love this app !The only thing I would prefer would be to being able to provide trails that are missing on the maps After receiving the developed answer to my comment I raised my evaluation to 5 starts since my request was not of their resort I'm using this app mainly for hiking, I have tried all kind of applications and was a fan of my Garmin Oregon 650 to keep track and follow all my hikes but since I discovered this app, my GPS stays in my backpack as an emergency backup.Version: 2.13

Amazing AppI tried a bunch of much more expensive apps and this one is by far the most user friendly and - while I can't speak to the accuracy of the other apps - Trials is incredibly accurate. Works without any cell connection and allows you to set waypoints so it's virtually impossible to get lost. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.15

Excellent for all outdoor activities!I like the fact that YOU decide what to do with your activity info. and don’t have to sign up or agree to share with third parties. I think the price for Pro annually is very reasonable. Keep up the good work!.Version: 4.06

Like it...Great App which does the simple things well. Looked at others which try to be too clever and only get the user confused..Version: 1.15
