✓ App disappears when trying to import GPXI just downloaded and paid for one year $4.99. Tried to import a GPX file (the main reason I purchased the app) and the app disappears. Using an iPhone SE (current generation) software version 13.5.1. Please fix this issue or refund my money..Version: 4.08

✓ Poor and expensiveThe old 'Trails' app of a few years ago was far better and running costs were free, no subscription required. . Kml files were created which would automatically boot up GoogleEarth which WAS brilliant. The map rendering was far better than the spidery background you have with this app and the colours and format have obviously not been created by a map lover or a logical mind. ✓ Does not work with Apple Watch 3 GPSI just spent four days in Zion Park hiking and was excited to use the app. Do not download or use this app. The mileage and elevation tracking are grossly off. For a 7-mike hike, the app recorded 20.8 miles! For 1,400 feet in elevation gain, it recorded 2,800 feet in gain. I contacted Trails support, sent both days worth of tracking data from their app and they simply said they cannot resolve and told me to request a refund from the Apple App Store. I wrote this I hoped that it might save someone the trouble I just went through as well as the disappointment of not being able to track a few epic hikes. UPDATE: Trails responded to my reviewing claiming I did erratic zig zagging causing the error. Any person who hikes inclines at altitude knows this is the norm - they’re called switchbacks. If an app cannot track someone cl moving switchbacks then it should never claim to be a Trails app..Version: 4.01

✓ No heart rate from Apple Watch 3Heart rate not displayed on Apple Watch 3, so deleted. Too bad as I paid for 3 months premium. No big loss. The lights for HR measurement on Watch were on, but value not displayed. Just a blank line. ✓ No Server? Abandoned? …Was Favorite Trail App(February 8th, ‘24) I Would give a full 5-Star review if it still…worked? Never had an app I loved and used so often take such a nosedive. I have used, and Greatly enjoyed this app for years. But the development team seemed to vanish or simply abandon their app. I am a software developer myself, and It does make me slightly angry to be honest. At this point, the app should obviously be taken down, but there in lies the problem…I have over 3 years worth of trails, maps, recordings, special and memorable trips, etc. and more within the app’s Servers. (Which on the app, it has said for well over a year now…that, “The servers can not be accessed: Check your internet connection and try again, or email for support” -_- It would be really unfortunate to lose all that acquired Data. PLEASE RESPOND OR PROVIDE A WAY TO TRANSFER MY DATA TO LITERALLY ANYTHHING ELSE. The App seems to still be “functioning”(ish)…but no access to servers and no help when requested. ✓ Crippled without subscriptionI have been a user of the original Trails app for many years. So I was very happy to hear of the new version. The first thing I did was import all my old tracks into the new app. That worked great. However, now I can't record any new trails because the new app is limited to 5 trails with the free version. The only way to create more trails is to pay $1.99 for a six month subscription. I would have been happy to pay more than that for a pro version, but I'm not interested in an app that will stop working properly if I stop paying. Very disappointed..Version: 1.0

✓ Weak support--great potentialGreat app. Wish this app had more Apple watch functionality. It's basically just used as a remote control. It could rival the Garmin Fenix if the track was displayed on the watch. Downloaded maps disappear the day after they are loaded. I was excited to use it on a hiking trip and disappointed when the map I downloaded was not there when I needed it. I've contacted support twice. Still no response. ✓ DisappointedIt's a good app. I found it easy to use for a variety of activities. Logs a lot of cool data as you would expect an app like this to do. Yesterday when I got to a trailhead I discovered that this app has a subscription model when you reach five saved trails. I didn't have any service so this app loses out. I wish there had been a warning once I got to four saved trails. Not everyone reads the app description and this was an inconvenient surprise in an area where there was no cell coverage..Version: 1.12

✓ AbandonedThis used to be my favorite cycling and hiking tracking app but this developer has basically abandoned it. Unacceptable for a subscription app. I can’t figure out how to get navigation working even though it’s a listed feature. This app makes me so sad because the UI is so much better than every other app for this purpose but if it’s basically abandoned then it’s not really a practical solution..Version: 4.09

✓ Good app but could be greatI have used Trails every weekend for the last year. It's the best i have found so far but has some very annoying shortcomings. Map Labels are very small (almost unreadable on iphone 6) and size is not configurable. Add text size setting and an easy way to see it magnified further such as touch and hold over text. Downloaded Offline map area is too small. I use this every week and need to change the offline area every week just for different parts of White Mountain Natl Forest. I had to create a repeating calendar reminder on Fridays to remind me to download appropriate map area while i have wifi. The following is an enhancement rather than an issue: Allow a destination and route along known trails to be selected and show remaining distance and time based on average (since start) and recent progress (last 15 or 30 min) speed..Version: 1.29

So I did and it’s been 12 hours now without a response on a weekday. The other good reviews are spot on, but they’re all using Pro features. ✓ Irritating but still a good appI paid $3.99 in 2012 for Trails, loved it, and did occasional tracks. Suddenly that version of Trails does not work (for example, not possible to export gpx files any more). Why do I have to pay again, for the new version of Trails? ✓ Maybe I'm just slow, but...Ok, this app follows your track wonderfully, and also has a great feature of automatically ending when you reach your starting point (I can't tell you how many times my run made great time on Runkeeper when I also included my drive home in the car after finishing). But, there's something a little weird about the tracks. I do the same run a couple times a week. If I call this a new track each time, I have to resave it and rename it from scratch each time, which is annoying. When I noticed you could download tracks, I realized the "tracks" are probably set pathways, meaning that you should be able to save or download one, and then run it repeatedly. Only when I try to do this, there appears to be no way to restart as a new "run" on the track in question. You can call it a new segment, but then times and distances just keep adding up, like one long run. It really should be organized with persistent tracks, which can be done repeatedly as individual runs. Maybe I'm just missing it....Version: 1.13

I have superb 4G coverage on my mobile device but it takes in excess of 5 minutes to pinpoint my location and, more often than not, requires the app to be opened and closed on several occasions. ✓ Good app. Just one big criticism.This app is good, it does exactly what it says and works very smoothly and accurate. However i have one criticism and for me it's a big one. In order to use it with the maps offline you have to buy the premium version. The maps that are used do not belong to the developer and the memory i want to store it on my phone with does not also, so WHY would i want to pay for something that should be free and something that already belongs to me, respectively. ✓ Used to love this app....This was a great app! I used it religiously for years to track all of my hiking. It’s VERY unfortunate there hasn’t been an app update in 2 years. I just renewed my membership for a year and purchased the newest Apple Watch. Now the Trails app isn’t available to download on my new watch (Apple watch series 5). Most likely because of no app update. Now I have to stop using. Yes, I could use it directly from my phone, but that doesn’t serve a purpose to me, as I record heart rate along hikes, bike rides, etc. Cya later Trails.
