✓ Enterprise Car Share Leading the wayWe have always had a car until three years ago when ours let us down on a long journey. We decided to live without owning as a trial only. We opted for enterprise car share because in foreign and domestic travel enterprise car rental never let us down including when our car broke down 500 miles from home. We have never looked back. For errands we use car share and on longer trips use enterprise rental. We have never looked back thanks to enterprise and any time we need a car we jump into well maintained vehicles and focus on the errand or holiday and not have to worry if we will get there . ✓ Best out of all the car sharing appsI’m not an employee, and not a bot. This is the best car sharing service out of them all. Especially Zipcar. The gas cards are always full, vehicles clean for the most part. As long as you have a good payment history with them, the service is above par. ✓ Very good unlessGreat system once you get used to it, and I’ve always had great support from the back office during a booking. But there was one time I hired a van to pick up something I’d bought on eBay and it got cancelled as they’d had to remove the vehicle. I got a single phone call from an unknown number which I didn’t manage to pick up, then had to deal with an emergency solution on the day. A few more calls until I picked up, a text message and an email would have been an appropriately belt-and-braces, customer-focused solution. Enterprise, hire even more people!.Version: 3.9.1

Any app that communicates with a satellite in OUTER SPACE, syncs with a server, and instantly updates on your phone is always going to be a little slow. But it’s a heck of a lot faster than calling them on the phone. It doesn’t feel any slower to me than the website. Seems simple, logically thought out, everything I need is right at my fingertips. If I need to call in, the phone numbers are right where they should be. Under 'MY FUEL RECEIPTS', there’a a camera app for entering then (if the credit card option fails as it sometimes does)—that’s cool!. ✓ Going carless but not!Decided not to buy a car after my last one died as I prefer not to contribute to climate change. I live in town and buses are fine. If I need to move or pick up stuff I plan it so I can do a few things at the same time. If I want a couple if days away it’s only £30 a day. No parking is a big Phew! ✓ A great service hobbled by lockdownI loved the car club, there WAS always a well maintained clean eco friendly car available at a price that saves me money vs taxi. About one third cost. Perfect for school run, shopping, local trips. Not competitive for longer trips. Always got the reserved parking spot near home. Last year it cost me around £500 instead of the cost of keeping a car all to myself estimate £1,500. BUT lockdown regulations mean car must be sanitised by professionals between each hire. So they must allow 24 hours between bookings. Hence I now cannot book when I need it 4 out of 5 times I try. Hence I am considering cancelling my £60 per year. I renewed last month cos lockdown was supposed to be over. I can only either memberships decline so much that booking become available again. Or maybe Enterprise should refund a part of the annual fee. I guess they got a chunky government grant to tide them over. They should share it..Version: 2.32.0

I joined City Car Club when my camper was in for major repairs and then, when the camper died, I didn’t bother with a replacement vehicle, because a car club vehicle round the corner in its own parking space is so much more convenient. And cheaper. But the admin, and implementation of the app is infuriating. Enterprise took MONTHS and many requests to replace a card. The app continually needs to be logged into, despite me ticking ‘stay logged in’ and using fingerprint ID. Enterprise changed my PIN without telling me, and then swore they couldn’t have done it. ✓ Deceptive business practiceCars are always shown as available until you got to book them and then they are not available. What is the point of having a filter to select available cars if they are not actually available to hire. It just deceives anyone interested in signing up into thinking they might be able to hire a car when in fact they can’t. On telephoning I was told to add the covid cleaning period time onto the time that I want the car for so that I can see the cars that are actually available and then search again for only the time that I want the car for and book that. Adding the cleaning period onto the time I want sounds like something a computer should do. After all when I go to actually book it can calculate that it’s not available so why have it calculate correctly on payment but not on search. The danger of losing someone that might sign up I’m guessing..Version: 2.32.0
✓ Errors With No ExplanationI’ve tried to reserve vehicles on the app and was given a vague “Reservation cannot be created” error. ✓ Better than zipcarKey takeaway: it is better than zipcar My thoughts... The set up was fairly quick. I did it from my laptop in the evening, called the next morning to see if it had been approved. It hadn't but the guy pushed it through and approved on the phone. I went in, picked up my card and they politely explained how to use the service. The manager of the store did a great job keep his team organized as it was a really busy day. So far I have rented from them 3 times. I've rented a Ford Focus, Cadillac CTS and Dodge caravan. All to meet different needs. All were cheaper than ZipCar. My only complaint is they don't have vehicles in the parking garage in my building. Zipcar has 3 of them, so it is more convenient than Enterprise. However, I'm not going to pay an extra $5 an hour to avoid walking 2 blocks to pick up the car. I was a bit confused with the way the car started as it was a keyless automatic hybrid, so a basic, “fools guide“ to starting the car would have been good. With rental cars you can ask questions before you drive away. Also I am a bit concerned about turning up to collect my Car Club car out of Office hours and it being damaged so it is unsafe to drive and also if the cars interior is dirty. ✓ Filling petrol and cleanlinessThe convenience of a car club is huge for us. We have decided to change our habits, and walk or use public transport more. So when we do need a car (because of inconvenient public transport), the car club makes life much easier. It also forces us to walk sensible distances. We would end up using the car club much more if it had the flexibility of dropping off the car at locations other than the one we picked it up from. For shorter distances, taxis seem to be cheaper and more convenient. The cars are sometimes very dirty. Almost impossible to contact the helpdesk outside office hours which isn’t helpful when you are having issues however the biggest issue I have is with the billing. it’s almost impossible to work out what a rental will cost and the cost indicated in the app bears no real reflection of the final costs. There are so many extras that seem to be added at random including a £400 late fee when the car was clearly returned on time. And I just have a feeling that it’s going to be a hassle to get this money returned. ✓ ExperienceI like enterprise car club, because renting car instantly helped me soo many times. However, I find the reservation process annoying and I think it could be improved. I feel like enterprise lives in a world where everyone does everything on time. For example, if someone rents a car from 12-16 and something happens at 16 o’clock, which will result in a delay of me returning the car by unspecified amount. Sometimes, I cannot extend it, because someone else booked the same car from 16 o’clock. This isn’t fair for me as the person driving the car and it isn't fair for the person who booked the car. I think there is an easy fix. Person renting a car at 16 shouldn’t be able to fully book the car yet, they should probably get a notification saying “due to the small gap time between person returning the car and you booking the car, the car may be late and may be extended by the driver driving the car.” And if the current driver is late and he/she wants to extend his ride, everyone should be able to do that without calling anyone and once the driver returns the car, the other driver should get notifications stating that your car ready to pick up. I like enterprise a great deal, but sometimes this app is just sloppy..Version: 2.30.0
