✓ Really useful app that does reduce wasteA good app that allows you use your camera to scan barcodes, for you to add to the list of what you have, which identifies some things but not all. Love the way that you can sort it in either date order or alphabetic order. As you use items and take it off your storage area, place is it in a shopping list. The only thing is if you’ve got two packets of something it will put both packets as you use it on your shopping list as separate items. The database needs extending more, so the barcode scanning is more efficient. The shopping list needs improving so that you do not get multiples of the same item. Also really annoying that you have to go back out of the barcode scanning /add item area to choose a separate storage e.g. fridge or pantry. Would be much more useful if you could select that as an option the same as it does for date expiry. Good for menu planning as well and keeping track of things that get lost at the back of the fridge/freezer. Also a slight problem syncing between devices e.g. tablet and smartphone. Has the potential to be a very useful app once these little minor niggles have been sorted out..Version: 4.9.2
✓ This app is the BEST!I really discovered this app looking for a way to track the food in my house currently, but I LOVE the “no waste” feature! I felt like I wasting a lot of food and want to do better about that to save money. And this app made it SO easy! ✓ Actively updated app, but clunky UIWhat separates this app from its competitors, for me, is the fact that it is being actively updated by its developers. I think this is excellent, so great job to the developers who didn’t abandon this :) The app’s UI is a bit clunky though. I wish it was more compact and menus/settings required less taps to access. ✓ No wasteI have used this app for awhile and generally have liked it. I went to check my inventory and have been locked out of some locations. I paid a one time price for access to 3 pantries, 3 freezers, 3 refrigerators. Without any notice the app has switched to a subscription and locked me out of seeing most of my inventory. This is an unfair business practice and I would not buy any app from this developer. It’s sneaky and malicious. After emailing with the developer this problem has been resolved satisfactorily. ✓ Excellent softwareMy family uses this app to track our food in our different refrigerators and freezers. The app helps us plan our meals much easier, and know what we need to buy at the store in a pinch. We purchased Pro soon after downloading, the barcode scanner is robust and having multiple inventories was very helpful. As far as I can tell, the app is unique in its features, UI, and function for food inventory. It’s the only one that kept a proper inventory when we were searching. Been a user for a long time now, the latest versions (late 2020, early 2021) are even better and more functional. ✓ Surprisingly impressed!After many years of throwing out food, buying things we already had, etc. my wife and I decided to look for something to help manage this, and settled on NoWaste. It’s still early days but a few things have impressed me so far - very easy to sync across devices, now the kids have access and can see how many hotdogs we have before they decide how many pals to invite round. Barcode scanning has a very high rate in the UK. I had visions of a very low hit rate but it’s up around 90%. Very flexible in terms of recording packet sizes, weights, etc. Also very easy, using the 4 predefined expiry date periods, to update a product once open. For example it may have 6 until use by, but once open must be consumed within two weeks, so simply update the expiration to 2 weeks from current date using the 2 week button. Overall, really impressed and if we keep it up to date it will definitely make a difference to the way we shop and eat!!! Maybe I haven’t found this yet, but a few ideas ... Search by category - only show a certain category Access detail of expired/eaten items - even for last 6 months Query “close to expiry” across all fridge/freezer/pantry - to see everything nearing expiry rather than wait for individual notifications..Version: 4.5.5

I was starting to write the contents down and thought I would have a look to see if there was an app to do this. I was very impressed with this app and really like the barcode function. ✓ Brilliant ideaMy wife and I both love to cook and entertain - so we have a huge inventory of foods, spices and baking and cooking products. Knowing where items were, between multiple fridges and pantries was just as big a problem as knowing what we actually had around and was available for today’s impulsive recipe choice. NO WASTE is well on the way to making our life in the kitchen much easier. NO WASTE IS A BRILLIANT APP! While time and patience are needed for initial organization, bar code scanning and data input the resulting knowledge of what we have and where it is - is FANTASTIC. ✓ Love the app, very usefulIt’s been now two months that I’m using this app and I can happily confirm that it works. I had many times been forced to throw expired food in the bin since I’ve missed their expiry date. Sure maybe it’s a very easy thing for some people to remember all the dates and have everything under control but I definitely found that this app was the solution for me. Since I’m working long hours recently and within Covid-19 pandemic situation this app has become a number one tool to ensure I’m using all the food in time causing me to do less shopping thus reducing my risk of catching the virus. I’ve noticed a very easy channel of communication via email with the developer who takes tour feedback and works on the reported bugs and improvements which is always great to see in the app you’re using really often. ✓ Excellent for tracking freezer goodsI make a lot of meals and freeze them down so very useful to see what’s available without taking everything out. Have tried various paper options for this in the past but lose them. Have got the paid version so I can down load info for meal planning. ✓ Wish There Were More LocationsI did a lot of searching and this seems to be the best app for pantry organization. There are 3 locations ; freezer, fridge and pantry. Each location has only 3 sub-locations. I wish they were unlimited or at least way more than 3. ✓ Loving this so farI love knowing what food products I have available in each area. this is especially helpful since we produce and preserve a lot of our own food. We use chest freezers and it is easy to forget what is in the bottom of them or when it may expire. Just one suggestion could weights of product be selected differently, so many of the tinned, bottled and packaged products do not finish on 00 grams and 50 gms eg 65 or 375 etc. in our case what we preserve especially does not fall into 00 or 50 gm categories. ✓ Brilliant appThis is a lovely app and I have tried a few, it’s adaptive, intuitive and easy to use. I have 3 freezers and am currently just using it for the freezers but I will add in larder and fridge. I have just upgraded from four to five stars. Originally I had problems with matching to iPhone but working great now. I’m so organised now and saving money. ✓ I like itI like the concept, it’s well designed, not expensive (I upgraded), and I was excited to use it! So I scanned about 20 items in my pantry, went through and edited categories and amounts, and then clicked “add all” and the app crashed and went I went back in none of the stuff I added saved. It probably only took about 5 to 10 minutes to do, but it was tedious and I was too frustrated to do it again. I probably could scan each item individually but then it would be even more tedious. Also: when you click “add all” and it actually does work, you get a message saying something like “added!” You’re supposed to click “ok” but no matter how many times you do the message won’t go away. Lastly: there isn’t an icon for oils. I use oils. In spite of all of this, I do like the app, so I’ll keep it and hope for bug fixes..Version: 5.2.2

I’d love the option to colour code, I often find it hard to differentiate between groups, so if I could make meat red or fish blue, it would help soooo much! ✓ Great app but scan database fail for AustraliaI’ve been using this app for probably a year and scan/enter after a grocery shop, especially for refrigerated perishables. The scan database for Australia used to work but in recent months it fails to lookup anything new that I haven’t bought previously so I end up having to manually enter the food product. ✓ Helpful App, Great SupportI downloaded the app to try it out. I tried several others but they each had something that wasn’t quite what I was looking for. This app has some flexibility that allows you to get a handle on your inventory. Though it may not be prefect for everyone as we all have a different idea on what we need an app to do. In my opinion it is close to what most of us need from this type of app. Now that being said I did have a slight issue when upgrading to pro, which I like the ability to send to CSV by the way. It was having trouble upgrading, I sent an email advising of my issue and had a response in 24 hrs and the issue was resolved within 48 hrs. ✓ Great app with great potentialThis app is has all the main features I am looking for and then some. - meal planning option - shopping list - pantry (freezer, fridge and pantry) I have few issues with this app which is why it got 4 stars. 1. It seems to sync after every single change made. If I have my data off it just keeps waiting to update. I wish syncing would be done on the opening and closing of the app with a manual option to sync on demand. 2. Also there is no prompt on the sign out feature. I touched it and I immediately got signed out. I wish there was a prompt for this. What I wish this app had: - allowing item price as well as tax percent. ✓ Great app! Could become very popular with some workIf you’re looking to get this app, I would go ahead! It’s really great to track all your food items. I’ve just recently downloaded this app, and from what I can see it’s pretty great. Most of the bad reviews on here are pretty old and have been fixed already. A few tips I have for the developers are: - Add more categories!!! I find it a bit funny that you have a category for “Chocolate creme” (which basically means Nutella)but not for something as simple as baking ingredients or sauce. Some of the categories are a bit too specific as well, like flour. People usually don’t have multiple types of flour at once. - Maybe make there be a way to eat some of a product but not all? For example, if I have 5 packages I could just check it off and it will move down to 4 packages or something. Keep working on this app! ✓ Highly Recommend!!!This has almost everything I am looking for in a pantry tracking app. You can add categories (fridge, freezer, pantry, ect), type of packaging, weight, and even where it is! The expiration date is customizable and there are rings next to each item showing how close to expiration it is. Very easy to use and perfectly simple (without all the unnecessary clutter other apps add). This is a genius solution to tracking and reducing waste in my home and across the world. The only suggestion to make this app better would be to type in the weight/ quantity rather than selecting the set number. This would help for the 1.5lb packages. ✓ Good. Needs more featuresThere is an issue when if you’re scanning barcodes and your phone goes to sleep, the camera will be frozen when you unlock your phone.
