✓ AirPlay Fails if Auto-Lock is Not DisabledThe big strongpoint of this app is that you can watch the shows with it. For an app to do what it is primarily designed for is expected. The worst flaw of this app is that in order to watch a show using AirPlay you need to turn off Auto-Lock in display settings. I have no idea how this hasn’t been fixed. I turn off Auto-Lock to watch shows with my Apple TV and then turn it back on when I am finished. This should be easily fixable with an update. Several people write off that bugs like this are to be expected because it’s a free app. I don’t feel it’s at all free with the number of ads I have to view when watching shows through the app. Someone is getting the ad revenue. I’m just stating that I would be more inclined to watch more if they fixed this feature..Version: 2.0.25
✓ The ads?!?!The ads are this are very annoying and hard to put up with. I can’t watch my favorite show because ads pop up every five minutes or so and they last normally 2 minutes. It’s frustrating, and I lost my spot in my tv show when I go to check my texts, and I go back and before I can get to my place I have to watch ads just to get back where I’m at and once I do that I have to watch more ads, I gave it a 1 star because the ads are just that bad, otherwise the app is good but the ads are the worse and it says a lot. ✓ CW Seed App Ok Except for a few issuesThe app has lots of tv shows that will leave you entertained. The only issue I’ve run into is it keeps saying “Error: Playback has stalled out.” A few minutes into the show. I will exit out the app and resume the episode and I would play for a few minutes and then I would get the same message again . If that problem could get fixed the app would be so much better than it is now..Version: 2.0.12
✓ No landscape, repeat ads, insanity...Insanity this update(???) was released. 12.9” iPad 30+ times same headache commercial among the others all the same made my head ache really bad... insanity you guys can get away with this, making promises of delivering so many ads in so little time and we pay the price by ending up getting way more repeat ads then we should since you don’t have enough viewers right? Thanks for the literal torture served with my show on this HIDEOUS albeit at least BARE minimal functional design which is delivered in portrait mode..? ✓ Update lost 2 good things...bring them back.The CW Seed App just updated. It looks good and the app seems to work better. It has not frozen or crashed as the old version did. Two this to improve!!! 1) while the video is playing I can't check my basic phone information any more! Time? Battery charge? Wifi connection? Previously I could touch the screen and all the info would appear for a second or two. Bring that back. 2). The color/value of the white background looks nice but the episode synopses are light gray and a much smaller font. Light gray on white is not enough contrast. Make it easier to read..Version: 2.0.3
✓ Started ok... But then went badI have has the app for a while but never used it untill now because I say an ad for a show that looked good. I went on the app and started watching. It was fine at first, kind of annoying that everytime I left the app in the middle of an episode he app would be unresponsive when I went back in, but that was an easy fix. Swipe out of the app and then go back in and click continue on the episode. Well around the fourth time it happened in the first episode the first show I started to watch the app crashed and wouldn't let me go into the app. I tried to delete and redownload it but I still can't get into the app. So I don't really know what to do except write this review soooooooo......Version: 2.0.12
✓ It’s ok, not greatIf you don’t mind getting partial seasons or shows, it’s an ok app. If you don’t mind that you have no language choice, again, ok app. If you really want to see the entire show, be able to specify your language choice so you can understand everything, then don’t use this app. Pixelation is heavy! More like watching Minecraft than a tv show or movie. This part is fairly new, started after last update to app, dropped one star from me for this. If they don’t fix it soon, will lose another star. Don’t expect much from help center or developers because they don’t seem to care much, just want it up and out to earn their ad money. Yup, lost another star, down to 3 now. June 23, just 7 weeks after top bit and still no fixes on how to save irt from where you were watching if you have to quit. Must start episode over or just skip it and move along. Problems are slow to repair, no response from developers still. Could drop another star or just remove app if it doesn’t get repaired to consumer needs fo viewing. CC should be an option to choose, not to remove. Every show every time, CC is on autoplay instead of something you can add if needed. To turn it off you need to double tap the CC if you can find it, it’s not always out in the open. Down one more star, now sits at two..Version: 2.0.25
✓ App in portrait mode only on an iPad?I am just trying this app on the ipad. The app launches in portrait mode only but the shows are in landscape. Seems a bit odd. Developers should certainly realize that iPads are often on stands or keyboard folios in landscape mode making it rather inconvenient to switch back and forth between landscape and portrait mode. Having an app recognize landscape mode for the actual shows but not to view available shows .. well that is just an odd oversight or more odd design choice. So far everything else seems fine. Fix the portrait mode to allow app to launch in landscape..Version: 2.0.22
✓ New version is awful!Obnoxious sound/intro will blast through your phone’s speakers every time you open the app even if by accident. They’ve also made it so much harder to find whichever show you were watching and I can’t for the life of me find past season 1 on anything now so while I was in the middle of season 2 for a show it appears as though that season and the following season have been removed. If I search for the show I get a few episodes in season 4 but nothing in order and nothing from season 2 so essentially it is now impossible to watch a show from start to end..Version: 2.0.0
✓ Buggy, Awful to Use. Just the worst.Hands down the worst app I’ve ever had to use to watch a show. The app frequently (as in 5+ times in an episode) will skip back, ahead, or start over at the beginning of the episode all together. After starting over multiple times at the beginning when you’re 40 minutes into a show, it makes sitting through all the repetitive commercials that much more unbearable. If you are casting it via a chrome cast, expect the app to stop your show or close the app altogether - it’s SO fun. This app was *barely* worth the torture of using it to be able to watch 2 seasons of Pushing Daisies. I will not keep this app around to waste my time..Version: 2.0.15
✓ GlitchesThe Apple TV app has some really annoying glitches. After a commercial it will take you back to scenes you’ve already watched by restarting after the wrong commercial. And to make things even more annoying it won’t let you fast forward to get to the correct spot. You have to kill the app and then go back in and find your spot and then rewatch the commercials you just finished. I’m not sure if it’s just Nikita doing this or all the shows but someone needs to pay attention to the coding and fix it..Version: 2.5.1
✓ This app is hollowThere is almost nothing on this app that is worth Of today. So far, the only shows I’ve enjoyed on this app are the Blade series and “Saving the Human Race.” Add some other stuff, because the other CW app barely has anything either. I remember when the second Flash season was coming out, this app had the original 1990’s Flash, and I enjoyed every minute of the Pilot episode. But after a while, you just got rid of it. I never had a chance to finish the rest of the show. So many great shows have been taken off this app, and it’s really quite sad considering how great it once was. It would be great to see CW put back some of their oldies onto this app..Version: 2.0.9
✓ Needs more...I love the shows the CW/CW seed app has but it needs to be more personalized. I have to dig for the show I was watching the night before. There is no “continue watching” list which makes it difficult to remember where I left off. There is also no customization on programs that you’re interested in based off what you watch. I have to dig through lots of shows. Become more like Netflix in your setup and I’ll give you 5 stars..Version: 2.0.9
✓ Simply does not work.Alright, I was a big fan of this app a few months ago. I used it a lot and loved that I could watch great shows for free. But with this most recent update, I can no longer watch ANYTHING as the shows will not load. When I go to watch something it displays a loading screen for about 30 seconds and then an alert pops up that the “playback has stalled out”. I’ve tried every single show, multiple times and it happens every single time, rendering this app completely useless. No, there is no problem with my network connection. It’s the app. I’m not complaining about the design or anything. I’m asking simply that you please make this app actually do the simple task it claims to do. ✓ Great app, but glitchy!This may be my first time writing a review for an app! I enjoy this app because I really wanted to watch all the seasons of Whose Line is it Anyways. There are "commercial" (ads) breaks as if you're watching a program on tv. That might be how they pay for the app in keeping it running. Not sure! As long as you remember the season you are in, it'll show you where you left off last from the specific season that you choose. I would say that I am glad I can watch the show here, but I really don't like that it glitches often. I'll watch something and then pause and it'll say stream error. Sometimes I can't go back or even watch the episode because there is an upload problem. ((I also came back to edit this review because I have been looking for the the "TAPIOCAAAAA!" clip for a while now and thought I was on the right episode. Apparently CWceed has a list of missing episodes. This is just an F Y I !)) If those problems would be fixed I'd give it a 5star! Overall a great app..Version: 1.14.0
✓ AnnoyingWow! I use to love this app but now it is glitchy. Okay, I get that we have to watch the commercials but they freeze just before the show comes back on or I get an error message which closes the episode. I’m right back on the episode section screen. When I click on it it asks if I want to start over or resume. I click resume but it only works half the time. I am sent back to the episode selection screen or I get another playback error... or the app completely crashes. Takes forever to watch one episode. This app really needs some help!.Version: 2.0.13
✓ Can’t even watch 1 episode start to finishThis app blows. It glitches, or starts over randomly or won’t even load period. I’ve been trying to show my daughter the secret circle and since you can’t buy it anywhere this is literally the only place to watch it. So we’ve tried for the last 2 weeks and have only made it to episode 4 and have been trying the last hour and a half to get through. We still haven’t finished and have tried to restart the episode 5 times before giving up. I HATE this app and wish they would do anything about these issues.Version: 2.0.13
✓ Can’t watch.So I thought the app is great. unfortunately it isn’t, sorry. I can’t watch a single movie/series witch is unexpected tbh. I tried restarting the app but it always loads. ✓ Awww Come On You Guys You Still Can Do Better!!!Okay you fixed some of the old other issues. Thank you, I liked the old version of the CW Seed. You had something for everyone Heroes, Cartoons, Drama etc., etc. and some shows had more than one season. Which made it great to look forward to. Example, I have finished season 1 of “Birds of Prey” How/When can I view season 2 and so on? I just started watch the first episode of Forever at 13:02 I got an error message “The stream timed out” this usually happens when I try to rewatch a show. I guess I was wrong. This is beginning to be a major bug!!! I give you two stars, I’ll gladly change this if/when you fix these things. I watch this on my iPhone 6 with iOS 12.1.4..Version: 2.0.11
✓ Was 5 stars but...I was binging Ghost Whisperer, and I went to go download the app on my moms iPad since I know she loves the show as well. After downloading I go to search for the show, and cannot find it. This seems weird to me, since I had watched it just recently on mine. So I look on my iPad and it isn’t there, either, which probably means they took it off. This makes me sad, since I was super into the show, because I had watched this show when I was younger and I had loved it then and now. That was the only show I watched on the app, although there are others I could check out. Maybe keep the shows on permanently, if you put them on. I loved it while it lasted, though!!.Version: 2.0.24
✓ Commercials are necessary but....I am watching via the Apple TV app and about 50 percent of the time after a commercial break the feed stalls, and I get to watch another batch of commercials before continuing with the show I am watching. If I am lucky the show comes back on, but if not the app errors and won’t let me watch the same episode until I restart the app and the Apple TV itself. It is not isolated to one Apple TV but both my current and past generation as well..Version: 2.0.12
✓ Not User FriendlyGreat app in terms of the number of shows. So far on the TV series I am viewing, adverts come at reasonable intervals, much like live commercial television. What confounds me is finding a watch list or favorite show list and sending feedback. I also had the devil of a time figuring out how to enable closed captioning (fortunately for me, so did many, many others, so that answer appears in the Q&A). The “settings” do not have user tools. When I watch an episode of a series, I don’t see a way to either halt autoplay of the next or return to the series’ page. Would be nice for this app to display a few of the standard features other free streaming services provide that allows viewers to customize their experience..Version: 2.5.1
✓ Lots of glitches with the ads.Any thing that happens (alarms, calls, pause the do do something) that stops an ad then you have to close the app and reopen. Then you go back to where you were the last time it happened instead of where you were. So then you are Watching the ads multiple times. ✓ WHAT DID YOU DO?!?!What in the fresh h e double hockey sticks did you guys do to this app? The new design is atrocious and doesn’t even work! The look is simplistic, not streamlined, and looks far worse and less professional than the former design. It doesn’t work in landscape mode, at least not while you’re in the menu stage, which is a baffling choice. Choosing seasons is not intuitive. There’s no air dates next to the episodes which is frustrating when you’re trying to figure out where you left off or which is a brand new episode. BEST OF ALL THE APP RESET EVERY FRICKING EPISODE SO THAT YOU CAN’T RESUME EPISODES IF YOU STARTED THEM ON THE OTHER VERSION OR KNOW WHICH EPISODES YOU ALREADY WATCHED. Oh joy! I TRIED to watch an episode and it crashed at the first commercial break and now it crashes every time I reopen the app and try to resume. Awesome work on this app you guys. ✓ Love it but a few issuesI’m so in love with the free streaming of some old favorites. I seriously use it daily. My biggest issue is that it doesn’t save history or show all of the shows that are on the app. I am hoping for a fix there soon but as for right now, I’m getting to watch for free so I can handle having to remember what episode I am on and search specifically for my shows. ✓ Missing standard featureI’ve got no problems with the content or basic functions, the ads are even ok. It’s less intrusive than regular television. The only problem keeping it from five stars is the lack of a “keep watching” feature. You have to find the show, then find the right episode every time you open the app. Given the annoyance factor, this was worth a two star drop in my opinion..Version: 2.0.17
✓ Good app, but...The ads are extremely annoying, though I understand why they are there. Also, the app keeps stopping during the ads. The screen would pause and the buffer circle would pop up.. sometimes it would start back up after a long time, but other times the screen would go black and error would show. ✓ THE GLITCHES 😠Right, first of all, great selections of shows! Only problem is I can never bloody watch them! I can get part way through the episode, and then it stops working and buffers for hours. I know it’s not the internet, because it’s done it in several other places with different WiFi points. I know it’s not my phone, because it does the same thing on other devices. And the cellular data use makes no difference either. Therefore, I find myself at a loss. I’ve been really enjoying the shows (the parts I can get to at least) but I’m wondering if the effort is worth it..Version: 1.14.0
✓ CW Seed app Fire TVThe app buffers all the time during commercials never during the episode viewing. The buffering many times takes minutes so all breaks for commercials takes many times longer to get through. Not internet speed issue since episodes never buffer. Not other apps in the background causing issues since the episodes play fine without any pause for buffering. This app gets average to poor reviews and yes some good ones way back when newer so why doesn’t the developer do something about?.Version: 2.0.20
✓ Not the best made appNew to this app. The selection of shows is great but thats about where the good things end. Its not the most friendly app. It doesnt have a section of shows your currently watching . So every time i want to watch a show i have to search for it. ✓ Need more works!Every time my show goes on commercial break, as it was getting back to the show it skipped 15 sec ahead so I had to rewind it twice. Since it’s 10 second rewind, it took me to the commercial and the commercial started over ugh then I prayed that it went to the opening of the show. This happens 3-5 times each show and I have 6 shows. One time it skipped to few min in like whoa hold up did i miss something. It is annoying for sure. That’s why last year I waited until Netflix got them. I wanted to see if this changed, and it still hasn’t. Bummer..Version: 2.0.20
✓ Crashing app needs fixingApp would be good if they maintained and FIXED the broken parts. Doesn’t consistently work. I keep trying to play a video, but the app crashes once I click on the video. Looks like it will play, but never loads and crashes. It worked several days ago, so not sure why it’s not now. This normally happens when you stop in the middle of a video and try to resume it later. The video just crashes the app. So if you’re planning on watching something, make sure you reserve time to watch it or keep the app open with the video on pause. Otherwise be prepared to not have access to the video again. I refuse to watch the rest of The Secret Circle until I get thru that one episode..Version: 2.0.0
✓ Mad.Im lowkey just mad they took away the secret circle I spent so many hours watching it just to find out it they stopped working on it and the only way to continue that story is to read it. Then even then the series and book is a whole different story so id have to read all of the book and deal with the confusion of 2 different plots going on in my mind. And i know im not the only one that was bummed because the secret circle ended especially with that twist at the end. I want to finish the story even 8 years later..Version: 2.0.25
