✓ Monophonic tones that grew on me DRAMATICALLY!I was a huge fan of Klevgrand's early FX's apps, which were small-footprint, affordable AudioBus/IAA inserts that twisted, morphed, and warped your sound in different ways. So, when they put out Enkl (a synth app!), I clicked "Buy" immediately and assumed I would love it. But that wasn't the case immediately. Part of the issue was that I knew even less about synths back then - many of the popular iOS synths are polyphonic, and I didn't understand the benefits of mono synths and how oscillator stacking can lead to rich, thick leads and bass tones. Then I started playing around with some affordable hardware monophonic synthesizers (such as the Arturia MicroBrute and Volca Bass), and gained a better understanding of synthesis in general. When I revisited Enkl, I appreciated it on a much higher level. Enkl is obviously a digital app, but sounds to me almost like a piece of vintage analog hardware. The interface is very...blue...but is actually laid out intelligently and makes things very easy to program. And the presets that come with the app are some of the most inventive and useful that come to mind in an iOS synth. It's been several month since an update, so I would like to see Klevgrand continue to work on Enkl, but it's a terrific mono synth that performs well even on some of the slower devices. 5 stars..HouseOfHomuthVersion: 1.0

✓ If Hendrix used an iPad....Yeah, it's got his star spangled strat in here. Beautiful mono synth, very capable, deep etc all kinds of manipulations and sonic shenanigans yo. It's my present numero uno. I use most of Klevgrands appstruments. But - as with Kluvert, Røverb and Vandelay, Enkl does have it's unwanted glitches. For example crashing in Aum AND Modstep, and even in stand alone mode. Maybe I'm feeding them too much high octane.... plus them little buttons to swipe on Delay, and Swap are far too fiddly. Bloody hell Klevgr you're not making instruments out of wood...this is 2017. This is a remarkable synth otherwise..SmilesncubesVersion: 1.1.2

✓ This is a very cool little synth...not for everyone, not Analog!This developer is on the cutting edge in so many ways it defies description. The interfaces come across like innovative kids' toys, and then you start playing with them, and you feel like a kid discovering weird possibilities of sound design you could never come up with without such a tactile, endlessly tweakable and beautifully simple playing field. Enkl will likely never go down as anyone's favourite virtual instrument; the sounds are probably too geeky and electronic for that to happen. But for a couple bucks, it is a brilliant little sonic invention that will keep you guessing from one tweak to the next what it will do next..Twirling ErlingVersion: 1.1.1

✓ Deceptively simple looking x blow-your-hair-back sounding.My personal experience with Klevgrand is that they make my Dream apps - the ones I’d fantasize in a “wouldn’t it be amazing if you could…” way. Enkl is as powerful as it is cute. As with all Klevgrand offerings the UI is thing of beauty and a joy to use. 5 minutes in with Enkl and I was all smiles and head-nodding making ultrafat bass patches and rude blips.
