Kids App Qustodio for Positive User Reviews

Not that badSome kids right reviews on this app about how bad it is and how they hate it because it’s a parental control app. Being a kid on this app I don’t mind it in fact it never really bothers me. It’s a great app for parents to help monitor there kids safety and make sure they aren’t doing bad things. However I’d give this app a 5 star review but the thing holding me back is that when this app is installed on your phone you cannot be on the newest update and have this app work the right way. This app is designed for a older version and will always put you back around 2 updates at a time. That’s the only problem I have with this app other then that i don’t care if I have a time limit or that I can’t go on some website in fact I’m great full. Just know you’ll never be on the new update. Coming from a valid 15 y/o.Version: 182.3.1

Good value for money.Has proven a reliable way of keeping us all safe online. Good value for money. Highly recommended..Version: 180.6.14

Easy to useHowever, shame that I paid for the feature (Calls and SMS) and I later found out it is not available for iPhone. This should be written somewhere in bold before the purchase screen! Rest of the software seem to work fine..Version: 180.37.0

I actually like itOk, hear me out. I know a lot of kids and teens don’t like this app because it invades privacy, but I actually enjoy it. Or at least I enjoy the way my mom uses it. I know some kids parents do use it to invade privacy and I’m really sorry if that’s happening to you. I’m lucky enough that my mom really listens to me and we came up with a good compromise. I was a little worried about being outed, but I came out to my mom and she was ok with it. I got into a really bad relationship last year and ended up getting peer pressured and bullied into really bad stuff. My mom had no idea what was going on, and I ended up digging myself into a really deep hole for over six months. Me and my mom decided together to get a parental app and she chose this one. She uses it to monitor my screen time, my location, and what websites I go on. It has improved my relationship with her and I feel grateful. I hate that some peoples parents use this app in bad ways. I think it’s not the actual app, but the way that parents use it that’s the issue. For example, I have friends with the same app that absolutely hate it, but I have no problem with it, and in fact I enjoy it. I feel safer and more secure, and it’s opened up for better communication between me and my mom. Thank you! :) -a non-binary, pansexual 15 y.o..Version: 181.12.2

Love it but would be good to have better location tracking on iPhoneMostly a great app. The only 2 flaws being it doesn’t track location on iPhones and it doesn’t allow my kids to watch Netflix or Stan from iPhones as the VPN is blocked. It would also be great to be able to read and monitor messages - sms, Skype and WhatsApp - as well as social media..Version: 180.36.0

Thank you for finding my perfect soulmate! There I was, sitting at my desk in my dorm room, pondering my life choices when suddenly, the sky opened up and a bean fell in front of me. He opened his mouth and spoke to me in a melodious voice. He told me to download the Qustodio app promising it would change my life forever, my wildest dreams fulfilled! I followed his demands excitedly I could not wait. I opened the app and bam, beans by the hundreds spilled out. They were all jumping around when one bean in specific caught my eye. She was beautiful, my ideal soulmate. We decided to elope, and soon after we bore 2 little beans of our own. Here we are today sitting in Elon Musk’s basement waiting for or daily meal. Thank you Qustodio team for finding my perfect soulmate!.Version: 182.6.2

Love it.This is perfect for our family. Able to control it all from the App. Thanks Qustudio..Version: 180.28.0

Keep kids out of wrong pathHelps your kids stay on track and focused and away from inappropriate stuff.Version: 181.2.6

FantasticThis is great. I love the reports and that I can specifically and easily block apps or sites for my children. Easy to use and practical. Also love being able to block online activity at certain times (usually during the night)..Version: 180.28.0

Great for iPhonesBoth my kids have iPhones and it’s great for them - you can see their activity in detail and you can limit their screen time. Much better than other apps I’ve tried!.Version: 180.31.6

MrsI actually quite like it. I use it to control how long both of my girls are on their phones and which of their apps take more time than the others. I can easily ask them to put phones down remotely and they will..Version: 180.43.0

Best by far!!!!Best parental control app ever...and I’ve tried them all. So many features and so easy to use. Best of all, it’s not expensive like the others..Version: 180.33.0

BrilliantBest in it class. Simple to use and control!.Version: 180.28.0

I HATE ITHello, The reason why I hate this app because my Aunty bought it, SHE CAN CONTROL ANYTHING, before I moved in with her I had lots of freedom on my phone and I never did anything wrong at all! When I moved in with her she put on another app called family zone it caused a lot of problems and I hated it, after she discovered this app and I hate it to death (not saying I hate the company) but as a teenager and 13 I feel like I should be able to communicate everyday with my friends, not even my friends have parental controls anymore, even she has it on my school laptop which is stupid because I have to wait till 10:30 til it lets me on the godamn internet, even my health teacher was like wth. You see my school starts at 8:55 and I have to wait nearly 2 hours!! I don’t recommend this app at all but if your kid is not trustworthy understandable.Version: 182.5.1

Advice (That you don’t need to take if you don’t want to).A lot of people say this app is garbage, terrible, ruining their social life. I understand that this can be a joke or an overreaction but It’s getting out of hand. People are lying and explaining that their lives have been ruined but I believe that they are just mad. Kids who are 10,11,12 and 13 have been lying saying that they are 16,17,18 and 19 And sometimes they are joking but sometimes they are genuinely annoyed and mad. I just want to say that your parents aren’t ruining your life, they are merely trying to keep you outside and active because from experience staying inside all day or even just 3 hours is unhealthy and you should listen to them. so no your parents aren’t bad people they are good people.Version: 182.2.0

GoodEven though it can be annoying sometimes, I like knowing that all of my content is filtered and that it blocks websites that are unsafe..Version: 182.5.1

Works but does cause issuesWe've been using Qustodio Premium for 2 years and have also experienced trouble with VPN slowing down game rate and making some things unusable, but over time we've figured out work arounds. Basically no one can offer 100% filtering and fast VPN for all apps and all devices -- simply just doesn't exist -- but this is pretty close and does what it's designed to do. There is no way i could monitor screen time for my teen every day, by myself, and this tool gives me the option to extend or reduce overall screen time plus individua time on each app, which has been useful now that school is 100% online. Developers should keep working on this tho ... it's very close but still troublesome. A couple of the sites my kid's school uses for new distance learning were blocked for porn. I got the notice and "allowed" them so no problem now, but there is some troubleshooting required to get this to work 100%. Also, my kid uses to be able to see how much time he had left, but for some reason that stopped..Version: 180.55.2

AGGGGGI am very angry right now, not because this app because I spent 10 minutes typing a review and my sister spammed me and I lost it all. To put it short I agree with why my parents did this. You may think I am weird but just listen. Most kids said it’s a invasion of privacy, lol. If it is then why should your parents trust u lol. So you don’t want your parents to see something makes it worse you just said you don’t want them to see what u are doing like your doing something bad lol. Some said it ruins family’s. It can. But my parents blocked some of there stuff too. With there internet providers. And they have time limits too. So parents please set a example it makes kids feel like u can’t trust them find the middle ground man. It is your parents divide, room, house, food, air, atmosphere…. Lol jk but it is there stuff they let you use it man. I used to hate the app. I used to hack it when I was 8. Then I saw things u can’t unsee. Sooooo…… it’s for the best but it can make life worse so maybe don’t ask your parents to take it off compromise 😀and discuss it with them as Qustodio asked please it’s for the best. “Sorry But u did say it’s a invasion of privacy I am a teen I know what that means”😎😎😎😎😎😎.Version: 181.7.1

Very effective as long as kids don't disable itIt works very well and is easy to use. Would be better if you could prevent the kids from disabling the management option, so need to be prepared to manage your kid accordingly..Version: 180.17.6

The summaries are very user friendlySo far, so good. It has been 2 weeks since we started using this app. My 16 yr old son agreed to it at first, as he was getting mostly Cs and a D in school and was caught vaping in school. He is in a Fine Arts Bording School and attends a public school for academics. I started out with too much restriction, limiting him to one hr of screen time per day. He rebelled by promptly disabling the app. The message got through, though and he began self monitoring and got caught up with school work. We put the app back on his phone and he has agreed to monitoring with no restrictions for one week and discussing his usage. After 1 more week, we will set new restrictions, probably a limit of 3 hours per day with incentives to earn extra time and penalties for not having schoolwork done or getting to school late. The app summaries are easy to understand and give a quick easy and detailed description of use..Version: 180.37.0

Good all rounderHave had this app a few months now for a 15 and 11 year old. Has some issues with location bugs but love the you tube access and sms function (can be downloaded directly from their website) have swapped from Kaspersky safe kids with no regrets x.Version: 180.50.0

QustodioGreat app.Version: 180.17.4

Great appThis app is great! One little improvement I would suggest is for time limits to a category of groups. So this allows children to choose when they would “play games” but set a time limit on the total time spent on games. This is available in the iOS settings but would be nice to have it under Qustodio..Version: 180.50.0

Qustodio Oct 2019Bought the 5 devices contract but hadn’t put it on the kids phones as their Samsung’s were too old. I then read the reviews and got a refund without trying it. I have now bought iPhones for them and it works wonderfully at the moment. Viewing Texts/calls and panic button doesn’t work with iPhones yet though, but as I can lock the pin and they can’t change it I can pick up their phones and view when I want to..Version: 180.33.3

Works really well with the kids IPhonesDoes everything I need. I even know where my kids are! And can instantly check if they’re online..Version: 180.33.3

QuestionHi Just wanted to say that I love this app and I believe this is capable of making kids safer. One problem I am experiencing is it’s using a very huge amount of my mobile data do you mind tweaking the amount it uses. Thanks.Version: 182.3.1

Foster carerIt highly recommend this app. Took me a little while to realise that I could block and unblock individual apps at a touch of a button. Perfect when you’ve had to watch endless shots of TIK TOKS. You also have the option to shut device down in time for dinner and turn on again when you choose. It gives you total control. There is a small delay before action sets in, around five minutes I think..Version: 180.47.1

Fantastic product!!I’ve had this program for almost 2 years now and ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It’s been such a miracle worker. Once it’s set up on your devices you can set up and shut down any program you want in seconds. My daughter does online High School out of Phoenix. At first her being on her laptop was a HUGE a problem. She wanted to be on anything but school. I set Qustodio up on her laptop, downloaded the app to my iPhone and no more anything that could waste her time or distract her. She used to be able to get on anything on the Internet. Pictures etc. on her computer or laptop. (She’s used both.) Things I’ve never even dreamed of to do instead of her work!! This girl is creative. With this app I can shut down anything she has been on in her history or currently doing right then. It keeps track of page, window, etc. they go on. That only scratches the surface of what this AMAZING program can do. I just can’t say enough GOOD about it. If you want to keep your kids safe you need this program for their protection and your piece of mind. I say it’s right up there with Apple’s "Family Sharing Screen time Protection" 💖.Version: 180.37.0

Works well and good features even in free modeHave used this app for a few months now to filter content and access times for my 11 year old son. I particularly like the way you can set up restrictions just for my son whilst other pc / iPad users are unaffected. Content was not so much of an issue with my son but time spent on devices was. The thing I love about this app is how you can customise access times as well as content. Getting my son to do his homework when he came in from school was a nightmare as he wanted to go straight on his iPad, not now - I have blocked access for 1.5 hours after he comes home so knowing access is blocked he simply gets on with his homework. If he finishes early you can always access the phone app and unblock the access. I also use it to enforce strict on and off times at bedtime and on weekends e.g. no access before school and no access before a certain time at weekends otherwise he would be on technology 24/7. The web filtering and content access controls are also excellent allowing different types of content to be blocked/allowed. I have tested them and they seem to work very well. Finally I like the daily emails and alert function which allows me to monitor how long my son is on his technology and also what he has done and what he has surfed for. I have used premium when it was offered free but to be honest I find the free version more than enough for what I need..Version: 180.33.3

Excellent productWas told about this app after upgrading my daughters phone, and it’s brilliant. I’m able to track my daughters whereabouts, view her searches, what app as she uses and control her screen time. There are a few minor faults that need fixing but I’m sure Qustodio will sort it..Version: 180.41.0

HateRuined my life.Version: 182.7.2

Must have appInstalled easily. Am able to check what the kids are viewing, block sites that are unsafe, and am reasonably confident that they are as safe as possible while on the web. Highly recommend.Version: 180.33.0

Good solutionI’m a parent. I installed this after a failed attempt at using TrendMicro piece of junk and overpriced solution. I gave my pre-teen a MacBook to do homework and research for his personal fun projects. He also likes to keep up with news. But the rest of the Internet is no place for a child. So Qustodio came to be very useful. I use the web filtering and time restrictions. I also leveraged the parental controls in the Mac to reduce app usage. The app controls in Qustodio were giving me mixed results. But the most powerful way is to use them both. Let’s say block the AppStore in the Mac, that still allows from one extra minute in the OS, then block the app in Qustodio as well, that works beautifully!! No extra minute. I also get very detailed reports of the child’s activity both online as well as in apps. My son and I have very good communication and he did not know technology without restrictions, so we have very little drama. Talk to your child and technology controls will work. I also have a “bug hunting reward program” going on with him. If he finds ways to break/hack the controls and tell me before getting caught, he is rewarded. I might have to step up the controls after that, but we discuss this openly. I also have lifted controls or time restrictions when he proves to behave responsibly. Control your children’s internet activity, but love them first..Version: 180.45.0

Good, but still needs improvementIt is basically a good app. The location service is a bit hit and miss and it also appears to be heavy on the battery. For the VPN, for us being based in Australia it doesn’t allow streaming services which is a bit of a pain..Version: 180.44.0

BrilliantIt works really well, for my 11 year old. I am able to control how long she spends on her phone and what she can access It immediately notifys me when she had been denied access or been sent something inappropriate and been blocked Brilliant , that it gives her independence but I can still monitor it as well.Version: 180.48.1
