✓ Total WarIf you played total war on the Pc like the first Shogun: Total War and the most recent (2017) Warhammer II, you're going to do fine in this game. Like the Medieval Total War I you are controlling a nation in the medieval time and you are managing another kingdom and army. There is also vikings in this game which allows you to have viking units for battle. I know I know there are some "catches" in order to get those good quality units but its all about strategy and patience. Total war on PC players and new players to these types of games you should know the drill: Watch your resources Be patient Spend gold when you REALLY need too Don't rage because this game is self-paced Learn the game to your preference, learn as you play. (New people i suggest you really understand the tutorial) If you want to pay money for gold, im not going to stop you from trying to be a "God" in this game but have fun and be patient..Version: 1.3

✓ Good FunThis game is fun but it is not a Total war game, and not all that similar to Total war battles: Shogun. You quite quickly advance through the game at the start but will eventually grind to a stop. The battle system is also impressive and the wait between battles will disappear quickly. However... It is a "pay to win" game and your starting gold (the currency which is almost impossible to receive without paying) will rapidly be spent even if strictly ration your use of it. ✓ Great conquest game!Combat takes some practice but is very RTS. Combat went from being difficult to being one of my favorite systems. It's all about charging, using buffs, swapping troops (spears against cavalry) and unit abilities. There are a ton of units. You can pay gold to unlock them or do it in-game for free via crafting. Gold is not easy to get but is not required. You do however get free gold in-game. This game is gorgeous and the city management is fun, customized and complex enough to keep it interesting. ✓ Addicting!I love the game thus far. It’s a little difficult learning what is what but trial and error wins the day. The trial and error doesn’t destroy you either. For example not knowing how to battle and you get wiped out will only cause you to wait 5 min for your troops to heal and then your back at it. Their are also a few tutorial videos online now so that’s awesome. I would have given it five stars but you have to connect online every time and I wish I could offline mode with it as my job takes me away from a connection. Awesomely addictive though!.Version: 1.3

✓ Different but GoodFans of total war will notice this is pretty different from the classic total war experience. The only similarity I found are the battle animations. Battles are a little lackluster, which is why I gave this game only 4 stars. There is some strategy to battles, but nothing compared to the series. The city builder aspect is actually the highlight of this game. Water flows, and you can change the terrain to influence the water. You need it for irrigation, but if your not careful you can flood your town. If the combat was a little more interesting, this would define toy be a 5 star too game for me..Version: 1.3

✓ I hate the gold coinsThe game is amazing the fighting is awesome but the one thing that is isn’t great is the gold coins. I understand that they want you use real money to buy gold but using gold coins to heal hours troops is a little absurd but at the same time the money to heal your troops should come out of the economy of silver coins not gold. Also if you do want to use gold coins for most of the things in the game then put some missions in their that will be able to give you some coins that’s all I have to say..Version: 1.3

One is that when people block up rivers it completely messes up the flow of every one of your resources and makes most ports completely useless. Sometimes the battles skip altogether and immediately fails the battle no matter the difficulty. The tactical options for battles are interesting and finding a good battle plan that works for most situations is satisfying. You get quite attached to your units, seeing them become stronger as you go. Coming back each day and gathering resources and gradually upgrading your realm remains engrossing. I haven't given 5 stars for a few reasons. 1) yes they want you to buy gold and I did in the early days, but now I have "put in the hours" I think they could be a bit more generous especially as once you hit max level there is no substitute reward for Xp. 2) giving some preset slots for army set ups would improve things. ✓ Veteran reviewFirst thoughts: really cool game. Love the whole concept of the hexagons and how you can really work to create an economy. There’s more to ruling a kingdom than war, and this game perfectly illustrates that. I have a couple of suggestions. 1) make it so that it’s a gentle transition of seasons, instead of abrupt. It would be cool to have some weather, because we really don’t have much of any weather in the game. 2) make it less time to gather resources and upgrade or make things a whole lot cheaper to build or upgrade. For serious gamers this is the perfect game, but for those who don’t have time to spend hours a day on here grinding away it can be quite a slog. Take em or leave em. I think that this game’s perfection can be raised even higher by; doing a online 2 v 2 battle and you can invite your friends to join you in duels menu or something and attack another duo. You guys should also start people off for free with some gold about 200 gold; because I know from my experience that gold is pretty hard to get if you can’t buy it especially with ten year olds like me who don’t have a credit card or gift cards on a iPad or a phone. ✓ Lots of fun to be hadI got into this game when I was looking for something to keep coming back to, I have enjoyed the battles and strategy within them, as well as, a satisfying progression throughout the game with challenges posed as well. The only reason this rating is not a five star, would be due to my feeling that this game would be better with even more multiplayer aspects, aside from the duels mode and friendly duels. ✓ Amazing Game, Just One ProblemI am a giant total war fan, having most of the franchise since Shogun 2, so a Mobile version of these games was an amazing idea. I like the way you can really transform your realm and customize your leader and your banner. This game is a definite must-have. I only have one problem, that after the most recent update, some buttons were very slow to respond, and a couple times I had to quit and come back to the game. ✓ The ability to choose in fights !!Every game (similar to this game) has a battle section that we get to decide how to do a certain action. But I never found a that allows you to choose a particular type of soldier and then : swap positions, attack front or rear enemy group, choose when to charge for maximum damage, etc. Even choose which type of soldier you want and in what order on the field. That alone makes it worth a try. For example, we can put all archers in the back row and make them attack the enemies archers, make them attack the front line or even make one archer group attack back while the other attack the front. Or don’t add any archers but only swordsman . All the choices makes it challenging and fun for each battle so earning income is not a task..Version: 1.3

✓ Different and worth the tryI loved the total war series on pc so it makes sense to give the mobile game a try. It’s definitely different than other strategy games and even has a significant difference than the PC total war games. Which I enjoy and can get behind. I’ve got to be honest, I’d much rather like to have seen the Roman era or even a Greek/spartan era of this game but they went with the Medieval era which is still fun and enjoyable. ✓ Should add ADs tab to get a couple free goldThis game is freaking awesome. It’s a bit difficult at first but as you get better it gets easier and upgrade your troops. You don’t really have to worry about other players coming in and destroying your castle and taking all your resources you spent real money on. There are Viking invaders but you can fight them off or even pay them off. You still have PvP but you can choose to PvP or not it’s not forced on you. My only recommendation is to have a tab for watching videos for some free gold. You can find gold randomly in mine exploration things but it’s very small amounts and buy cool stuff takes a lot of gold.Version: 1.3

First, it takes ages to get gold, and while I disagree with people who say you have to pay, it would make it a lot easier. It would be nice if it could be properly updated more often. Remember Super Mario Brothers? Developers have just become more savvy. There is virtually no way to progress in this game without using some real money. One need not break the bank but unless you have all the time in the world to collect resources, you aren’t going to progress fast enough, especially since attention spans are so small these days. How much real money should you spend? I’m not into telling people what they should do so do what YOU want and what is reasonable within your budget. This game is a marathon not a sprint. There are plenty of huge egos in the gaming world and addiction is rampant. No need to go bankrupt playing video games. My suggestions: Spend money on developing blacksmiths, taverns, sheep, cattle, farms, and quarry and fishing areas which will give you a steady flow of income. Then start developing your troops so that you can start winning battles and get more resources. Avoid trying to build too many walls and aesthetics since nobody really cares what your town looks like. Avoid greed and sloth and you’ll do fine. 😎.Version: 1.3

The duelling function is frustrating though, as the sever is unreliable and you end up watching your army get killed without the ability to do anything because the sever has lost connection. It makes getting up the ranks a bit of a lottery and sticking to the the lower reward vs computer battles might be for the best if you want to avoid fail rage..Version: 1.3

Love the control over everything, it's not like clash of clans where you build your empire while being constantly attacked, its all simulated against an AI and you decide when you want to fight in a battle. ✓ Very uniqueI have been looking around for unique new games and this is definitely one of my favorites! It allows you to build your castles however and where ever you want, gather resources wherever and however you want, fight whenever and however you want it’s basically completely up to you. You can even raise and lower the ground and change the flow or rivers to better grow your crops and there seasons each with its own pros and cons. I haven’t seen a game like this and I’ve been loving it! It’s not fast paced and doesn’t require any purchases to progress unless you just want to speed it up. I have made it to all 6 areas and I haven’t spent any real money so it’s very possible to be good at this game without paying. I would suggest this game to anybody who wants a strategy game that you can control more of! My only request would be to add more areas!.Version: 1.3
✓ Great concept. Needs work.When I first saw this game was from Sega, I had to get it. Plus I love city building games. And I'm very hopeful for it. It needs a LOT of work, and I'd probably list everything, but that would be way too long. I just hope someone on their end is doing it... ✓ Cool GameReally great game with beautiful graphics and interesting advancement system. You gain territories and build out multiple towns and castles. Only current negative is that there are in app purchases which I despise. You manage quite well in the beginning but I could imagine this becoming an issue when you try to be competitive later on..Version: 1.3

✓ An interesting turn for the Total War franchiseIt's nice to see Creative Assembly go down different routes for their Total War series, this one in particular being quite unique. It's a lot more similar to an RTS game like Age of Empires (in a good way) but it still feels like any other Total War game. The game looks good, the battles are quite interesting (although much more linear than other Total War games), the building mechanics are quite interesting, and there's a lot to do on the game. One thing to mention though is that resource collecting is a bit of a grind, especially the stone mining, but that can be somewhat fixed when using other in-game resources to speed up the process. ✓ I like the game but having issuesI’ve been playing this game for a couple of years and it worked nicely and it was fun but recently it won’t let me into the game, it freezes on a loading screen before I even get into the game. ✓ MCOLMOI like the game, although I play it sporadically, but in recent weeks that I have not worked, I have been participating in Viking tracking competitions, in which you have to make a number of shipments per week and you have to invest many hours to be able to reach the First places, this week I bought the great fleet for 50 gold in the game and up to 4 hours ago I made 290 shipments of 20 silver, 100 food, 20 stone and 100 wood; But now I get that the winner is someone who made only 140 shipments of the same materials, so I lost hours connected to make 290 shipments, I honestly do not understand it. Can be played solo or against human players, and the rare thing is that with patience this can be played without gold with decent satisfaction.
