Total War Battles: KINGDOM for Negative User Reviews

Many variables to considerGreat game just bit slow re arranging town so one can get enough resources within 1 castle precinct to build another , lots of relocating buildings-time , the battles strategy is blocky and I’m having bit of difficulty controlling battalions ( but I’m not a massive gamer) great game variety though.Version: 1.4

Stuck in a loopIt’s too easy to get stuck in a loop that you can’t get out of. I want to connect to my 2nd watchtower but by messing around with the rivers and dams etc. the tower is flooded. There’s no way out and no way to restart. Game over and out. The lack of instructions create this type of problem. There are many reviewers with feedback on no information on peasants and craftsmen. How to fill a ship from a distant colony etc etc. It’s very confusing at times with no clear way forward until you hit a point where you can’t get out of. Then you’re permanently stuck..Version: 1.3

Doesn't work on iPad 3 :(And i was quite keen to try it.Version: 1.0

Thrilled initially, getting bored now.I was thrilled to find this as I love the Total War series and was debating buying Total War: Rome on the iPad. However I started this and thought it was great. That was until I'd been through the tutorial and realised I knew little about what various buildings did, benefits of peasants versus craftsmen, how to expand etc. I haven't bought gold because I don't like buying my way through a game. However it's becoming apparent that you have to if you want to succeed. Even at early points in the game, buying units costs 400 gold and as a starter I have earned my way to about 30.... This game is very badly balanced but has real potential. I truly hope they redress this mercenary approach and make this game playable. 2 stars because it is a well crafted game, much better than all the other castle/empire building games out there..Version: 1.3

No Available ServerI love the game, it’s great but I haven’t been able to login in for over a day now because the servers are down. Like I understand maintenance but for a day, that’s a little ridiculous. Please fix so I can give a higher rating..Version: 1.3

This games dueling systemIt is horrendous you verse up people who spend tons of money to have tier 3 special units when you only have tier 1 units the game has overpowered abilities for these special units. it’s basically a pay 2 win in duels..Version: 1.3

Everything is flooded, alwaysIt's your typical Pay-2-Win town builder, with two main exceptions. One, it's got a really solid combat system. You'd hope as much, given that it carries the Total War brand. Two, the water changes every couple of days, wrecks your stuff and wastes your time and money. You can fill dams, if the terrain height allows and if the dam can avoid bursting for eight hours... and you can raise the terrain so you can fill the dams... except when you can't, because the other terrain isn't high enough, and you can't raise that terrain because... uh..Version: 1.3

Piece of CrapHonestly it was quite fun up to an extent but once you hit a certain point, you need to win missions, quests, or duels for silver and stone. 90% of the time you find someone with one more piece of artillery than you, so even if you play the beginning of the battle correctly and have several more squads remaining than your enemy, you'll still lose because your squads will just sit there waiting for the enemy, getting hammered by the artillery you can't destroy. I lost a battle when it was 5 squads on 1 and I even taunted his last squad (which was swordsmen) to my calvary for an extra damage bonus. Well for some reason, even with two archer squads firing into the squad fight, his swordsmen lasted more than a minute and still beat my calvary even though I started with more in my squad. While that fight was going, my four other squads got killed by artillery. Clearly, the dueling and battling system needs to be balanced a bit more..Version: 1.3

Plz helpThe game is amazing and I don’t have anything against it but right after I spent real money the game won’t let me start battles it just says “you’re army is still fighting a duel”. Plz fix or if not can you refund my purchase.l.Version: 1.3

Too buggyIt’s so annoying how the app itself is so slow. It takes minutes for me to perform even the simplest of actions. And battles are even worse. I start the battle and instead of scanning my army and my opponent, it just freezes and looks at some troop raising their sword in the air endlessly then when I restart the app, it says I lost the battle and all the gold I spent to heal the troops and buy battle support is gone. It’s so frustrating.Version: 1.3

Stay away! When you first play this game, you actually think it’s nice: the music, the graphics, the immersion, the control over your kingdom. You soon realize that everything is designed to take the money out of your pockets. This actually is a very well made pay to win game from an experienced game corporation that is designed to progressively make you addict and want to spend 3$, then 30$, then 300$... As for me, I just decided to quit before that happens. If this game was a 1 time purchase, if the in-game progression was faster (gathering ressources takes days of real life time unless you buy them), then the game concept could be fun. But then again, this is not what the game was designed for. What a shame Sega! It is not different from a casino taking advantage of people that have a predisposition to addiction. DO yourself a favor: stay away from that game..Version: 1.3

Network is terrible.I love the game and the graphics of it but it come with your network that gives you full bars to end up getting kicked for low connection. I’m the one who had full bars playing this game and every time I play this game it will not work or play. I get kicked off the game for having low connection even though I’m next to my WiFi like 1 foot away from it and I still have low connection. Please fix this network problem it’s really killing the game..Version: 1.3

Looks beautiful but progress slowAs a fan of TW games on PC this was a must play for me, and visually speaking I was not disappointed. The detail in both the map and combat visuals surpass nearly everything else I've played on iOS. Likewise I love the scenes prior to combat. The major downside, and it is major, is that the progress timers of your building, harvests, troop recruitment etc are excruciatingly long, unless your willing to spend real dollars on gold in order to complete your orders. I have literally found myself sitting for extended periods watching these timers, and because of this have removed the game. My preference by far would have been for this game to release as a premium pay once title..Version: 1.0

Great but needs tweaksThe reassure collecting like mines are very annoying as they take about 15 min a peice and give you 10 resource but when you go to sleep for 8 hours you still only get 10 resources making resource collection near impossible for me let alone someone who has a job. The banner creator also needs to give access to all items and add more colours like black and the positioning of the crest from the 3 are a little off. The game will no longer work as it's saying there's no servers.Version: 1.3

So much potentialGood game, few things I disliked. One, I found the battle mechanics a little restrictive and clunky. Especially the fact that I can’t order more than one of my units to attack the same unit at the same time, instead they just stand and watch if they’ve killed the army they were fighting. More like the dawn of titans combat would be better. The castle building and kingdom upgrading and expanding is great. It was an ok tutorial, I was a little lost in the beginning but later caught on. Overall 3/5 when such a vital part to the game (battle) is not enjoyable. With a few tweaks to that I would give a 5/5. Again, strongly recommend taking notes from dawn of titans battling..Version: 1.3

Garbage game, but I can’t stopThe game is too slow. It takes 2 to 5 days to gather enough materials to craft a weapon, and another 12hrs to craft a weapon, only to find out it is scrap metal, and you need to craft again to up level it to usefulness. There are multiple levels to a weapon, so it’s probably 3 months before i can up level the weapon to max. Not to mention that each unit can have a weapon, a shield, armor, plus it looks like you can have three accessories. So to fully equip one unit at max item level, you’re looking at 12-18 months of work for one unit of the 9 units you can field. I keep coming back to the game though...I even spent money on it. I’d rather pay $40 for a full game instead of the pay to play garbage..Version: 1.4

It’s funThe game is fun but the resources take forever to farm and you only get 10 it takes forever to level anything up.Version: 1.3

Please upgrade serversI’m not sure why this very fun game hasn’t been updated in years. But at the very least Sega needs to upgrade servers so I’m not losing the connection *in the middle* of a battle. Very frustrating. The game is hard. I like that. But it needs to be possible..Version: 1.3

Spears better than arrows?OK - love the game and patience and strategy really pays off in terms of building your enjoyment...but in what world do soldiers manage to throw endless volleys of spears the full length of the battlefield? Its the most devastating weapon on offer so the fact that these javelin throwers get 2-3 volleys away right at the start of every battle; with amazing accuracy and before your own longbow-men manage to return fire (at a much slower rate) - is a serious and grossly inaccurate mis-balance that the developers need to correct. Right, I’m off to sack all my troops and replace them with javelin chuckers. See you at the top of the league table....Version: 1.3

Continuously the same problemsGone are the fun days of Command and Conquer. These games are here to money grab and you just find yourself continuously solving the same problems over and over again. Writers of these games will never be able to compare themselves to those of Command and Conquer..Version: 1.3

Boring and incredibly hardThis game looks good. That’s where it stops being impressive. It’s unbelievably slow from the very beginning. Like almost everything takes hours to even days to happen. The battles are unrealistically hard. Easy battles are harder than the challenging ones even if you spend gold. And you’ll need to spend a lot to move forward. To take even the second area you have to gather amazing amounts of resources that unless you sit and watch constantly will take you weeks. The duels match you with impossible opponents. I’ve given it two stars but that really a bit optimistic.Version: 1.3

I want so bad to give this a good reviewI absolutely love the style of game. Very civilizationesque. The biggest issue is the battles. AI is algorithmic and increases difficulty as you grow. This means NEVER getting past challenging levels. Given there are easy, medium, and hard, the AI should stay consistent so you can slowly build and work up to harder levels, but the way it is that will not happen which completely kills the incentive to play. The more I play, the less interesting it becomes. I think this game was released too early. Didnt work out the throttling..Version: 1.4.1

Pay to winIt’s a good game for the most part, but once you get to a certain point it gets way too difficult to win battles without better troops and getting better troops is a very tedious process unless you’re willing to spend money on the gold. I’ve played it for a few months now and all the battles say they’re easy or normal difficulty but they’re all obviously out of my league. Maybe if it were easier to get higher tier troops and they give experience for winning easy battles. Other than that all the other aspects like the season effects are really good and I like how you have to earn more land..Version: 1.3

A dark pattern filled game disgustingly designed to make you spend $The pvp matches are 110% one sided u less your will to invest hundreds of dollars to buy a max level top tier army. The game is self sucks as well you can make 0 progress in the main story as you need to spend about 100-150$ for each of the 6 areas un Ses you plan on playing for the next 7 years to save up enough to be able to think about buying an expansion. All other 5 star reviews have been bought and paid for by the devs or are fake account mates with the specific Intentions of boosting this game ratings.Version: 1.3

Combat is terribleThis is an average game made worse by a combat system that I haven't managed to figure out in the several months since it was released. I keep trying to come back to it in the hope that a patch will have improved it, but it still stinks after all this time. Here's how the fighting works: you pick your combat units and an optional boost, start the battle, and order your army around while they're getting murdered by your opponent. You have several options for getting murdered, but you'll have to figure out what they are because the documentation for the game is miserable. Avoid this one..Version: 1.3

ResourcesOne of the best game out there, stunning graphics, great concepts but the resources takes too much time to grow, and to upgrade something it needs huge resources.Version: 1.4.1

Huge waste of timeThis game uses the tactic of frustration to get you to spend money. They have programmed the game to frustrate you so you have to spend money to win. They lead you to believe you can invest time instead of money but then magically your attempts fail. The lack of documentation and online help is also very frustrating. Crafting is a complete waste of time. After 5 cycles, and using 500 craft materials the process fails and leaves me with nothing. You can’t start over and you don’t know what you’re doing wrong because there’s no documentation so you just fumble around and it’s a huge waste of time..Version: 1.3

Nothing newYou have built a great game and now it sits in the closet with no new updates and new ideas on how to generate a decent income off it. What a waist of effort, get creative and grow your asset!.Version: 1.3

Battles won’t loadI love this game and I have played it on both computer and phone. However I recently got a new phone and I downloaded this again to pick up where I left off. But whenever I try to load a battle it shows the battle loading screen for a few seconds then goes back to the normal loading screen then back to my kingdom where I am informed that my army has been defeated without ever stepping on the field. I have never had this problem before. Can someone pls tell me what is going on??!!!.Version: 1.3

TerribleThis game is so frustrating. The battle when you interact with other users lags so bad! You can’t charge or use your bows and arrows because of the lag. Why even have the online stuff if it doesn’t work!? Need to fix that.Version: 1.3

Should be called Total Blacksmith; not Total WarI've gone up to 3 stars for this. The game is addictive and plays well. However, there is little skill involved in winning battles. It's about putting in time and money to progress. You can easily spend £50 and not be the best. There's only so much you can do tactically. In reality, the game is determined by how much time and money you put into it. Originally I gave this two stars with the review below... If you like building and collecting wood then this game is ok. But it isn't total war. It baffles me why they haven't just ported the original shogun... It would be awesome... You could draw your troops over the battle field with the touch screen. The battles in this are nowhere near total war. They are one dimensional and boring. You can't flank or head for higher ground or anything remotely creative. The building of your castles etc is done well enough. But I want Total War not Total Farmer..Version: 1.3

IPhone X /XSNeeds to be optimized for iPhone X or XS screens..Version: 1.3

Not so goodAt the beginning the game is interesting but as you progress, battles are almost impossible to win without paying for upgrades. And there is a big problem with servers. Really hard to play because you get disconnect most of the time..Version: 1.3

Go buy Rome total war mobileOkay so I thought I’d try this game and it’s just a cash grab just buy Rome total war mobile that game is wayyyyy better.Version: 1.3

Cannot connectTough game to figure out and I soon as I do and start getting somewhere the game no longer connects and there is no update to resolve I won’t waste any more time on anything you dimwits produce.Version: 1.3

Keeps resettingI have played this game extensively now and have spent a fair bit doing so. Whilst it’s a very enjoyable game it has an infuriating glitch - it keeps resetting itself. You build up your duelling rank to level 7 which takes a lot of time, effort and coin - only to log in the next day and find you’ve been reset as a level 17! I’ve also had issues with church pledging being reset. I made 11 pledges (these help to speed up your orders in battle) and cost 5000 of each resource a pop; again only to find its been reset to zero. This is the only downside to a great app but it’s a pretty sizeable issue especially when you’re paying to progress. Please resolve!!.Version: 1.3

OkGame is ok in general, combat could work more fluidly, giving more freedom to move troops around but is ok.Version: 1.0

Good gameThe game is good, but very slow at resource collecting and the battle strategy is somewhat monotonous. Good game to pass time but overall not a game I would put time into as it's very slow and not very rewarding. I have played every total war game to date and this is nowhere near the pinnacle of what total war is about. I have decided not to play after 3 days so its a good indication to how slow and monotonous this game actually is, it's boring and time consuming and nowhere near the effort and time it takes to lvl up 1 building its painstaking and as I would best describe it as monotonous..Version: 1.3

So Much PromiseTotal War Kingdoms: This game has all the hallmarks of a classic pocket medieval builder. With nice graphics, reasonably deep production systems and a simple combat mechanic it should be a hit. Having spent a fair amount of time on it I really wanted to like it, but unfortunately there are some flaws under the hood and these let the game down and ultimately make for a frustrating experience amongst the many great ideas. Key Issues: 1) Frequent serious crashes and hanging plague the game. Given the age of the title this is really disappointing. Dueling is particularly hexed and seems to not work more than it does. 2) Poor help. The usual hover style help and explanations within dialogue boxes are sadly missing. The developers website also has scant useful content. Eventually you stumble through it, but why make it so hard to get to grips with the basic mechanics? 3) Gold which is the key accelerator in the game is very hard to get and offers only very modest benefits. I understand it is a free game and the developers need to make a buck, but its not balanced enough to make putting cash in worthwhile. If it was bug free I would prefer to pay upfront and release the pay to play pressure. Worth having a play, but a shadow of what it should be..Version: 1.3

Good game, pretty difficultI know how some people really enjoy difficult games that challenge your mind and such. I personally love these kind of games, but this game is a little TOO difficult. I absolutely love everything about it except for the fact that missions become impossible to beat after you reached level 20 or so. I don't play duels anymore because the generator puts me up against people who already have the best troops of every class while I'm still using swordmen and basic archers. The missions were pretty balanced as far as difficulty up until I reached level 20 or so. Then I wasn't even able to win in easy-labeled missions. If the devs could tone the difficulty of the ai down and fix the duel generator, I have absolutely no problem with rating a 5 star. Every other aspect of the game is amazing. But until the previously stated problems are fixed, this rating remains 3 stars..Version: 1.3

Ruined by flooding. This is supposed to be a strategy game but you spend way too much time trying to deal with flooding. Even when you think you've got it beat the dams you have built burst. A totally unnecessary feature that ruins what would otherwise be an enjoyable feature. Get rid of it. Update 24 August 2016 Now the water keeps turning off all together so all your crops die! Really frustrating and puts me off playing..Version: 1.3

What are developers doingSeriously, to many faults. Have a building built in 10 secs, yet 10 mins to pull down. Growth of peasants compared to retirement in workshop ratio unbalanced. Limit on certain buildings within a castle puts game play in super low speed, yet combat play is super fast, and what’s with the cool down action timer in combat play, troops get slaughtered because you have to wait for the CD to tell troops what to do. Logging into the game every 15 min or 1 hr just to collect pittyful amount of rss, is non rewarding and a waste of time. This game needs an overhaul on its timers and overall balancing.Version: 1.3

Great gameThis is a great game on the whole, but it is all aimed at making you spend real money in order to progress, for example it gives you battles and goals to reach, but in order to do so you need to upgrade you troops all of which costs gold which you have to buy. You can upgrade them without it but for an upgrade of 1 unit you need 231xp and you get roughly 3xp per battle, and after each battle you need to wait on average 10 mins, you work out how long it takes. Better armour weapons and shields etc all gold so again you are never going to achieve most of the goals as they are too hard without all the upgrades. Please please total war, reduce these cost I would rather buy the game than have to keep pumping more and more into it. Just out of interest I refuse to buy in game purchases, and if the games becomes too hard I just delete it so many ppl do, so you are losing player base by trying to make ppl pay and pay..Version: 1.3

This sucks. This game sucks because it keeps crashing and making me start over again if I were you don’t play this game!!!.Version: 1.3

KingdomsOk, but the in app purchases are much too expensive. Watch it around the kids. And the latest update has washed the colours out on my iPad. Almost unplayable now..Version: 1.4

Overrated, expensive and buggyOn the face of it, this looked good, a Total War game on the ipad. In reality it is promising but actually frustrating and a bit crap. The really bad news is that it crashes - a lot on iOS. What’s more annoying is that if it crashes eith after you have actually won a battle, or even before you start, you automatically lose, which means you have to pay to heal your troops, and you have to do this with gold which you have to pay for in real money. That’s right - we actually have to pay for bad coding, which is utterly unacceptable. It happened to me 4 times today, and I lost a duel I won by a mile - as in no units lost at all, but because the game hung and had to be restarted, it was classed as a loss. Battle mechanics are simplistic to the point of being crude and inflexible. This isn’t a battle game, it’s a management game with some crude battles built in. Next, its built so you pretty much have to pay to play to get on, otherwise you get stuck. There are lots of other free games which don’t require this. Its fine to pay to advance faster, and if you enjoy something, its not a problem. Not so here. The payments you have to make mean that you can’t play for free. Fix the glitches, rebalance the earnings system (you simply can’t earn enough gold to keep fighting) and it would be pretty good. For now, don’t be fooled by the great reviews. Its buggy, and its pay to play, and you in effect pay for the bugs. Unforgivable..Version: 1.3

Phone overheatsMy phone over heats after playing this game for 10 minutes.Version: 1.4.1

KingdomLove the game.Version: 1.3

More like total rubbish.I originally gave 4 stars and mentioned it was a decent enough freemium game. After upgrading my army quite a bit, the missions (basically the largest source of resource income aside for waiting many hours) have now become impossible, or yield no benefit. This game is full of promise, but fails to deliver unless you are willing to pay through the nose for it. Yet another psychological manipulator to make millions through subscription rather than a one time payment like buying a game in the good old days..Version: 1.3

OK but very slow with limited battle optionsAfter having seen Total War videos on the PC I thought at last a game i can play on my ipad that will take me back to the days of Age of Empires. Unfortunately, it is not what i would call intuitive with some relationships between buildings and items - tavern, what does replacing peasants or craftsman do? what happens to the craftsmen and how do you assign them? Now so e may be able to answer those questions but it should be intuitive so i do t. we'd to ask. Also the constant having to make the wood cutters fell trees and the farmers farm, why don't they just do it automatically? As the map becomes more revealed it will be a pain to keep going back and get them to repeat. What is it with gold? can't get any, can only spend it. Ranking up is impossible unless you can gather enough resources which takes forever. Then there are the battles, hmmmm, crap, you cannot freely move troops about, you cannot easily change orders - very limited at best - how do you retreat and allow other troops to engage? If this can be done it is not intuitive. I really wish that Age of Empires was available on ipad as it was on PC and I would be happy to pay for it as I would know what I was getting..Version: 1.3

Don't Bother Unless your cashed upGreat start to the game but it won't be long before your villages are pounded by enemy's bigger than you and they will sit there for days just destroying building after building and there is nothing you can do about it...just deleted my account for that reason...Good Luck big spenders !!!.Version: 1.3

Good game.....butThis is a good game but minor improvements could make it great. It is extremely slow to gather and build up resources. Frustratingly so. The time it takes for craftsmen/peasants to appear is also too slow even with bonuses. Lastly why can we not delete accounts and start again? If you want to start again you have to use a different email! Ridiculous..Version: 1.3

Could have been so good?Slow, impossible to upgrade troops to a defendable level without hundreds of gold? Only way to get gold is to buy it! You get 1 gold per day and 10 or 20 completing difficult tasks from the system? Seriously guys? It will take me nearly a year to get the basic troops??? From that point of view it's a poor show. This could have been epic? Disappointed!.Version: 1.3

Too hard if you don’t payOverall a decent game, but it is hard to learn how to play. The advisor shows up in the very beginning and you are on your own. The duel system match is horrible. Also it is almost impossible to get gold if you don’t pay and gold is the only way to buy advanced troops. You will stuck with level 1 units without gold and it is impossible to even finish quests. So if you don’t want to pay, you may play fine for a few days then have to give up like me. Too bad.Version: 1.4.1

It's a solid gameIt's a solid game. Connectivity issues with duelling have been the only issue..Version: 1.3

It’s okThe gameplay has great graphics, and easy controls. The city building is fun and easy to develop, plus it’s impossible to become broke of money. The combat battles needs a major overhaul. It’s very unbalanced and difficult to manage the units. The computer AI units are always overpowered compared to yours. It’s easy to fight on easy mode except when you’re facing 4 waves of units (12 units total) compared to your maxed out army of 7 units. medium difficulty should be labeled hard, and hard should be labeled impossible. Overall the game is slow so have patience, and the battles are frustrating..Version: 1.3

Total war battles kingdomI got this game because I’m quite into strategic games and love war games. For a iOS platform I thought it was pretty good, nice graphics and when I started to play I got the hang of it real quick. But to my dismay after having spent £3.99 which is not a great amount of money to help me along my merry medieval way the 2nd time I went to play the game or engine collapsed and I had to delete the game and if I want to play this game again I have to reinstall the game and start again thus losing my progress and money. Will I be playing this game again, I THINK NOT!.Version: 1.3

100% pay to playI have played and loved almost all of the Total War games. But this game is the exception. I have spent way to much real money on this game and in order to advance I will need to buy more gold. I have given this game over a month and building and fighting is some what fun until you stop paying for gold. Most "in game purchase" games allows you to advance, all be it slow, with out paying or just paying every now and then but this game dose not follow that philosophy. The biggest draw, for me, to the total war games are the massive battles and the ability of the player to use real to life battle tactics. To read about Roman history and use what you learned on the virtual battlefield. But this waste of time and money has very little to NO strategy in the battles and the building portion of the game offers nothing more than any other game. If you want to pay over $100 to an app on your phone that has nothing new to offer and absolutely no strategy in battle than this game is for you. If that scenario is not applying to you I would suggest you skip this game..Version: 1.3

Everything was fine until you changed the user agreement.Like the title says the game was great then you updated the user agreement the day before I wrote this and now the screen looks like you messed up the gamma settings and I play only on my phone I don’t have a laptop for this dull game. So I have no way of changing the settings half the stuff on the screen is now whites out or unable to see it, you can’t see symbols on buttons and it looks like the Sahara desert sun is blazing the land, I have submitted a ticket to SEGA but don’t count on getting a reply. I wonder who owns SEGA it was pretty sneaking seeming to update the user agreement I read it and your just selling our information to 3rd parties for marketing. That’s continued disgusting behavior. I’ve spent a good deal of time on this game especially since COVID has us not able to do much. Now I’m convinced something dishonorable is up as you have jacked up the whole experience. I’m awaiting a reply from SEGA if any and of course will amend this review if you fix the problems you caused that never existed the entire time I’ve been playing..Version: 1.4

Audio doesn't workNo game audio when using Bluetooth headphones, audio from all other apps works..Version: 1.3

Very Buggy On IOS, Pay To Play, DisappointingHuge fan of Total War series, but this one is designed to waste your time and/or money. I spent a good amount of hours on it to make sure I know what I’m talking about. The Map: *Progress is excruciatingly slow, super hard to get gold unless you spend real $$$ and that won’t get you too far. Nothing special strategy wise, mostly mindless screen tapping. *Bug gets you randomly kicked out of your account *Viking outposts are a chance to battle on economics strategy with other people, except that AFTER SPENDING TENS OF HOURS TO MAKE #1 YOUR SCORE IS GONE AND ALL PROGRESS IS LOST! The Battles: *Battles are VERY basic compared to the original game, but that wouldn’t be too bad if you didn’t *GET KICKED OUT OF THE BATTLE due to BUG and lose without being able to take part in it, which makes Duels even more frustrating. *Super hard to win a duel or Battle Quests without buying advanced units (or crafting, which takes so much time and resources that you might die of old age by the time that’s done) and then you’re not out of the woods yet because you have to build Xp, which is another long and arduous journey. Conclusion: This game is just a scam banking on the original Total War nostalgia. Don’t waste your time and money on it, instead of entertainment you get frustration!.Version: 1.3

Total war.... nopeIt’s ok but it’s not free to play and it’s not total war..... why? Well there’s no ( maybe a small amount)strategy involved it’s simple send em in and hope for the best, you can’t swap units from the front ranks to the rear as the enemy gets close,At some point your units (free ones) will be utterly slaughtered unless you spend for the better units.... you’ll then need to spend to lvl them up you’ll then need to spend to upgrade there equipment.... can get very expensive..... is it fun hell yes! Is it total war .... no if you want a total war game go for total war Rome or tw..barbarians (when they finally get it to work on the iPhone).Version: 1.3

The worst “strategy” game everWhat a shocker! Here is unbeatable formation: First line 3 shield bearing units, 2 line 2 Viking hunters and crossbow and 2 archers at the back. Viking hunters are the most powerful unit as they make horse units useless just as any nonshield unit. Make sure to first destroy enemy archers witch your archers and hunters first. This is a very poorly designed battle concept. Do not waste your time and money!.Version: 1.3

Need some workI would suggest that they allow you to reset your account to the start with all the golden coins that you purchased, not the ones earned. Thus allowing you to restrategize. Just like any other total war game on PC. It’s a very complexed game to just give you one chance to get it right. Other than that, I would say it’s a addicting game. I have gotten to a point where I’m stuck because I jacked up the entire terrain. It’s look more like water world. So it looks like my total war kingdom days are coming to an end. With what I spent I could have bought me two new total war games. Darn it. Lol.Version: 1.3

This game stops at some pointThis game stops at some high level when I sign on as a beginner it works but on my current level which is around 50 does not work.Version: 1.3

Not iPhone 4 SupportedBig fan of the desktop games. Downloaded it here. Not the same thing. More like the old Age of Empires (collect wood, grain, stone, etc) I really dislike 'tutorials' that get you to level 5 inside the first 10 minutes. Combat is not intuitive. It's just line up armies and watch them go. Very little to do other than target archers and charge the foot soldiers and mounted units at the right moment. No strategy to it. There's the usual 'pay to buy game gold' option that I always skip. Slippery slope right there, and this is a past time not an investment. And each time I log in there's been flooding with no obvious way to drain marshes even after putting dams back in. I've resorted to building roads then deleting them to turn back into useable ground. Bit silly really. Yes it's England; yes it rains. But come on, this is supposed to be fun. Good but not great..Version: 1.3

Server issueWhere are the servers for this game, I’m just getting hooked and I’m SOL because there aren’t any servers around?.Version: 1.3

Total war KingdomIf you like to spend money, this is the game for you, otherwise it takes forever to do anything!.Version: 1.3

If you're bored and need a new gamePros: Good graphics and if you lose a battle, your troops respawn and heal back up. Also if you lose a battle you don't lose resources.👌🏻 Cons: Not many troops to recruit or train. The real good ones you have to craft (which isn't available till level 21) or purchase with gold. Then there's 4 selection boosts at the beginning of every battle. Of course cost gold. My last one is the reward system is so bad. No real prize after whopping an enemy. Overall it's like any other total war. The AI army can micro manage better than yours and can have the same kind of troops..Version: 1.3

Money grabbingJust another Jone that tries to make you pay massive amounts to get anywhere in the game. Says castles aren't when they are connected when they are so you can’t progress in the game. Can’t beat enemies without spending big money. Trash.Version: 1.4.1

Clickbaited gameTypical ad game you see, fighting is overly clickbaited, trashmaster 3000 this is.Version: 1.3

Could be improvedLike so many players total war on pc is bloody fantastic to play we're total war on phone is bloody less entertaining but still keeps ye playing still a bit tricky to master the game play but as the longer you play the more you learn so will rate this game a 3 star nothing less and nothing more.Version: 1.3

Good gameI’ve been playing this game for some time now and it’s a good game but there’s a few things that couldn’t make this game more enjoyable like where you can build your castle I understand you wanna keep the castle next to the water but that make your castle building option very limited and for a game like this to be limited in where you could build your castle make the game fun for a few minutes out the day ..2 facial feat are not important in a game like this cause but when it comes to the army that fights its should be but you’ll probably won’t be able to tell if the army have good facial feat if the graphics aren’t good ..3 need lot of TLC when it gets that you’ll have your 5 stars and that’s a promise.Version: 1.3

In app purchasesGood game but after so long it gets to the point where you can't win battles without spending money to upgrade. Drains battery faster than most games..Version: 1.3

Irritating pay to win break from the usual creative assembly geniusI've loved the total war PC games for a long time. But this app is... frustrating. The kingdom building system is good fun but the battles feature is beyond irritating. It's nigh impossible to train a second army because all of the missions are scaled only to your strongest troops so you just have to send new troops to slaughter until they've slowly grinders out enough xp to be vaguely useful. And then there's the PVP system. The most clearly pay-to-win system I've ever come upon. There is no pairing based on level whatsoever. At level seventeen with an army of 1 star troops I constantly get paired up against level 15s with soldiers that they clearly bought and there's no way I can even compete, or even win two battles in a row unless I purchase gold with my own money..Version: 1.3

It’s good, but very different than old PC versionIt’s a good game, but it’s not the one you can find on PC. Specially battles are more basic , also you have to deal with season and that can be annoying as time past, also prepare yourself to spend a quite amount of real cash if you want to achieve goals more quickly.Version: 1.4

DuelsMy very first duel that I tried to fight, the game disconnected me before the battlefield even loaded. My troops were already set up in a perfect counter to the enemy's, but when the game disconnected me it let the other player do what he wanted as if he was fighting an NPC that couldn't move and coordinate troops - he wrecked me because the game forced me to crash. It wouldn't even let me spectate the duel or fight other battles after it crashed until that fight had ended. Fix your issues, SEGA. EDIT: Now it's telling me my connection is one circle out of like ten. My connection is fine. 3/3 wifi bars. My ping is 40-50 on any other game. FIX YOUR SERVERS. I live on the east coast, I should have some of the best connections in the world. GET SOME INTERNATIONAL/REGIONAL SERVERS AND START BEING INCLUSIVE OF ALL PLAYERS, NOT JUST THOSE THAT LIVE NEAR YOUR HEADQUARTERS. SECOND EDIT: I've fought a series of duels now, and increased my dueling rank to 17 with two medals. About 30-40% of the time, my game crashes when I attempt to connect to a duel, and it sends me back to my Kingdom's landscaping screen while leaving my army uncommanded in the duel. Very disappointing, won't be spending money on this game. Worth the download but not the cash..Version: 1.3

Frustrating to playI like some aspects of this game, the battle strategy is fun to figure out, the graphics are nice, but I am very frustrated by the terraforming and the slow gathering of resource. It is a little trial-and-error damming rivers and lowering land and because resource is so slow to obtain you can lose a lot of buildings from flooding without being able to undo your action or modify the land fast enough..Version: 1.3

Wait what?In app purchase :/.Version: 1.3

Huge fan of total war, but this was disappointingI love the total war franchise, so when I saw this game I got really excited, just to find out it was nothing like the rest of their work. The terrain features of this game are aweful, trying to sculpt the land is tedious, and makes no sense. The battles have very little actual tactics or control of troops, leading to a more lottery style feel of the battles, especially when compared to the other titles of the franchise. I find it hard to believe that they couldn't just update older games like Rome total war to play in phone or ipad, strangely games like that would almost be better with touch screen than they were with a mouse.Version: 1.3

P2W + Decent GameThe upsides: Unique mobile game mechanics with a slow pace. Pretty good unity variety. Really fun battles (When the AI or opponent aren’t using OP gold only units) Gold-units can be crafted with a blacksmith. Seasons and multiple ways to acquire resources. Speeding stuff up doesn’t cost gold. The downsides: HEAVY P2W mechanics. Gold = Instant win against most players. Gold to change seasons, gold to buy 60-75% of the available units, and gold to give yourself absurd powerups pre-battle. The crafting costs for the gold-only units are absurd. Like, holy moly. 100 crafting resources? That’s a hefty amount for a single unit. Cosmetics for your character portrait and your banner? Gold. It tends to heat up my mobile device far quicker than anything else. Overall rating: Pretty fun if you don’t pay to win. Gold needs to become FAR more accessible OR needs to be less of a need in order to win in duels. Maybe even cut out of the duels entirely. An ability to have blacksmiths make gold, but take a lot longer, would be desirable..Version: 1.3

IT'S A TRICK!!This 'game' is modern day theft. It's designed so that you can only collect resource if you're permanently sat on it and the moment you log off you can be raided or disasters strike your towns, such as floods. In addition the only way to progress is to spend A LOT of money. I spent 13 quid and it disappeared in 2 days and I only upgraded 3 units. If you want to play the long game and not spend money then you have to sit playing the same challenges to raise tiny amounts of resource. I'd predict several years of continuous gameplay to get anywhere. Why oh why can developers not just make a good game at a fixed price without trying to rob every penny from you and prevent you from being able to put the game down for a day without being penalised.....Version: 1.3

Every timeEvery time I downloaded this game and press play it says I do not have the right requirements for this game what dos it mean why can't I just play.Version: 1.3

Not bad, but a lot of ‘admin’ for player and battle logic not realistic.Any ‘strategy’ aspect fades quickly as you get into game; it becomes “build resources” and “fight set piece battles” that artificially increase in enemy strength as you do. Worse is the game has too much Admin...designed to keep you coming back all the time...to hopefully spend real money on buying gold. A ‘supreme commander’ would not be managing everything, he would have at least “administrators” who can be given orders (priorities)... but that games design does not pressure you back as often, while ensuring your resources will force you to. The battles look nice with some simple concepts, but is generally not realistic. Very little “tactics”...at best a rock paper scissors thinking. And units behave illogically. Charging your Infantry versus charging cavalry on open ground is real world suicide, yet that charging is often critical to your combat being successful. Then we can have a large unit, after destroying enemy to its front, wait twiddling its thumbs (even with exposed enemy flanks in view) while a friendly unit fighting that exposed enemy is destroyed, all the while being pounded with arrows or artillery. When the friend is finally defeated, our waiting unit then magically wakes up to move IN FRONT of that victorious enemy unit to fight them front on? And in the ‘big game’, after conquering all 6 territories (note battle success may make little difference to gaining them) there is no real challenge left but more of the same battles against ever stronger enemies as you get stronger... calling them duels with anyone in system matching you to. Battles look good but are simpler than checkers in logic, and with little chance for tactics. Have enjoyed the game, but getting so tedious in the admin will now move on..Version: 1.3

Don’t downloadThis game looks really good when you see the ad,BUT DON’T BE FOOLED, once you get like 30 minuets into the game it gets really boring, the only way to lvl up fast is with gold and the cost money. This game is just a waste of time and energy, don’t download it.I have no idea how this is editors choice. The only reason why i put 2 stars and not 1 is because the battles are pretty fun, but other then that this game is really bad and boring.Version: 1.3
