✓ A lot of fun but too easyThe game doesn’t match you up against players based on your ability or level. Just matches you up with any random person. Atm 90% of my races are against brand new players when I’ve played 200 races! Win the race by at least 15 seconds every time! And if you back out of the race without playing it due to the quality of opposition you get given a loss. Very frustrating. Tournaments in which you have to be a certain level to play would be so much more ideal. Id rather not race at all if I’m racing a player with 0 XP. Will be deleting soon if nothing is solved in this regard..Version: 1.2.0
✓ Needs a lot of workThe game appears to originally have been a micro transaction based game but has had that removed to be on Apple Arcade. As such certain mechanics now make little sense and it feels like a bit of a grind to level up your cars and wisps as presumably it would encourage purchases. It has promise and it’s fun for play for a few minutes but needs some serious tweaking to match the quality of a lot of the other games on this service. There’s also an issue where the Game Center achievements constantly pop up over and over again every time you restart the game..Version: 1.0.1

✓ The controls aren’t so great.Hey. I saw this game on arcade and thought it would be good, but I deleted it 5 minutes after. The reason is because the controls aren’t so great. I’m fine with them but when I steer the character just bumps into walls and the sensitivity is garbage. I know sensitivity is adjustable so I adjusted it, but it still wasn’t good! In my opinion you shouldn’t get the game but if you are fine with the controls then download it. But other than that, this game is amazing! That’s why I am rating it 2 stars instead of one. ✓ Full of cheatersThis game blatantly allows cheaters, or avoids patching the issue. A majority of the time when against an opponent that doesn't have a generic name like "yellow stoat", the rival is somehow able to withstand being hit with three consecutive shots from the crimson eagle, or any other projectile. And I've had issues where I'm suddenly hit yet there's no notification of who it was. And every time I suspect they're cheating, I will witness the rival player disappearing and reappearing way out in front. And even if we're racing with the same character, they somehow will manage to be so far out ahead, that it's impossible to even catch up. The only thing I can do is quit the game and restart until I find a generic bot to race against, because that's the only way to have fun, removing any necessity or desire to move up in rank. ✓ No PlayersConsidering this is listed as one of the top games in Apple Arcade there are very few people playing it. 95% of the time I get to race an AI controlled version of myself, then when I do get to race a real person it always seems to be one of a handful of players. ✓ Has potential but....I had high hopes for this on an iOS device as it was coming to Apple Arcade. I have this on the Switch, love it and have played it until my fingers get sore many times. I knew it wouldn’t be as good as the switch version but was still looking forward to playing it on my phone or iPad. Alas, it’s just a poorly made port of the game. It’s obviously just a free to play game that’s had the IAP purchase taken out. Also just because it’s on iOS doesn’t mean we need racing games to be auto accelerate. There’s slow down and frame rate issues throughout the game. I’m using an 10s Max so this type of game shouldn’t have any troubles. ✓ Connection Constantly dropping outThis would be a great game however it’s very buggy and constantly drops its connection resulting in not being able to finish the race and losing everything. It’s seemed to always drop out on the final lap - which is super annoying when you are in first place only to end up ‘did not finish’ The developers need to fix this so that this game maintains a stable connection..Version: 2.0.0
✓ Disappointing controlsThe steering is by a switch left or right, so even with a controller with an analogue joystick, there is no steering. Also although a “racing game” there is no accelerator or brake. I could not see how to launch the wisp using the controller. It’s annoying to have to touch the iPad screen while using the controller (Nimbus +). Although the instructions say it supports XBox One controllers, it does not support the Elite Series 2, at least not on MacBook Pro. Just a few proper written instructions would help..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Unbelievably poorly consideredThis game seems to absolutely be what was going to be a Mario Kart Tour-style free-to-play in-app-purchase fest which got changed to an unpaid game at the last minute. The progression system is absurdly punitive and for some reason your player level is increased not by *playing the game* but by levelling up wisps (your on-track abilities) by collecting enough cards, gained through a weird daily rotating gachapon system. It seems like there’s some decent mechanics underneath, the racing is vaguely presentable, but let down by a terrible online experience which will either see your opponent careening ahead or vice versa. Matches which feel competitive are in the minority. This isn’t helped by the fact that tracks you can play on are directly tied to your “league” which means most matches take place on the same two tracks everyone who’s only just started have. Ultimately, a full-featured console-style racer this ain’t. At least you’re not forced to pay for the upgrades, but you do unfortunately have to play the bad game to do so..Version: 1.2.0

✓ It’s good, but....I downloaded the game relatively recently. Initially I found it really fun, reminding me of games such as Mario kart and other sonic racing games on the wii. The overall concept of the game is great however playing it for longer I began to realise how, seemingly, lazily the game had been made. I constantly get put up against players who are way to low or high in compared to skill rating, making the experience really boring in both cases. There are dozens of issues with UI, and general bugs, when upgrading wisps, cars, winning races challenges and events. Numerous bugs occurs during races, like telling me I’ve won (when I haven't) and telling me the race will end in ‘x’ seconds (due to the rival team already finishing) when I’m in first place. Overall, as I said before, it’s a good game concept, but it’s execution, at this stage, is pretty poor, especially when you consider you have to subscribe to a premium service to access the game and it’s been made by one of the biggest gaming industries in the world..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Lots of bugsThis game is fun but is quite repetitive to say the least. What’s more frustrating is that it is super glitchy and filled with bugs; I especially noticed this when I ranked up. For example: I reached 3900 and had won several matches but somehow found myself back to 3859 as I was upgrading wisps. Speaking of which as I was beating the challenges it actually did NOT give me the rewards (and glitched out) three times in a row. ✓ Version 1.3.0 is a Buggy MessDuring the first race after update, I got the fairly common "Lost connection to server" error and lost the race trophies, as if I had lost the race. Something’s gone wrong with what looks like frame rate. It looks jerky now, like the frame rate is lower. On Apple TV, it prevents fast-user switching. I’ve never seen an app do that before. Double-press the Home button. The interface appears, and it can’t be swiped. This developer consistently fails to address basic bugs, making the playing of this game frustrating and I’m considering cancelling Apple Arcade as a result. The new interface, which eliminates the circular "cursor", is a big step up in usability. That’s all I like about the new version..Version: 1.3.0

✓ Promising but lots of issuesGame looks promising, but in its current state it’s a little rough around the edges. Every time you start it up you receive all of the Game Center notifications that you’ve ever gotten, it’s gets intense. Both my phone and iPad get incredibly hot after just 5-10 minutes of playtime, and the battery drains pretty fast (latest iPad Pro and iPhone XS Max, so it’s not my hardware, just poorly optimized for performance) Playing in portrait mode is a great idea, but nearly impossible on the iPhone. The car takes up so much real estate that you can’t see anything beside or ahead of you (zooming out would fix this issue). Portrait is fine on the iPad. That said, love the idea and will definitely edit my review as these issues get resolved.Version: 1.0.1
✓ Great in theory, just good in realityIt’s fun a concept but it needs more polish in general. The touch steering mechanics are decent and you can adjust sensitivity but the positioning is all wrong. You have to steer from the centre of the display, and it’s very annoying to reach when in landscape mode with a large display. And landscape doesn’t rotate automatically, it’s a manual setting you have to find amongst the small text and indicators..Version: 1.0.1

I got this game for my 6 year old and I have restrictions in place to not allow online games with everyone, just with friends. It’s a shame that this game forces a child to play online with random people in order to enjoy this game. If I choose a setting it should be respected, especially that the game is marked as 4+. ✓ Needs More Modes!I think this plays brilliantly (using left/right controls, not the wheel), is fun and super-addictive. I get the odd crash on the menu screens (iPad Pro), but otherwise play is very fluid. I just wish there were more modes... There’s a good variety of tracks, but because these beginners haven’t unlocked them, I get stuck racing the first three or four 90% of the time. ✓ Did you even test on iPhone 11?On iPhones with the notch, the menu cuts off at the top where the notch is, so it’s impossible to see some info. And the home indicator overlaps with some stuff at the bottom of the screen, making it difficult to see it. I also encountered a bug when I first searched for a race after completing the tutorial. I got stuck searching for a race for over 5 minutes with the Cancel button greyed out so I couldn’t retry. I had to force close the app to fix it..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Wiped all progressThe latest update which happened today wiped ALL progress and achievements so I’m back to square one after a few months hard work! Time to move onto another Apple Arcade game now. Very disappointing from the software testers and distributors. Update ***** My profile now seems to have magically returned. However there’s still lots of bugs that haven’t been fixed: When you are holding the Magenta Rhythm wisp you cannot steer as your character just moves in a straight line! Also while holding this wisp you cannot release unless you press the release button about 20 times! The above is also seen sometimes with the blue cube wisp - everything seems unresponsive. After about 5 races everything just slooooows down with very jerky graphics and I’m running on an iPhone 11Pro Max. The phone gets extremely warm too so you have to kill the App and restart every 5 races or so. Update******* Still lots of bugs. The biggest one being is when you’re winning a race and suddenly your wisp won’t fire you just keep driving around for minutes without the race finishing. Once you start a new race you realised you’ve been deducted a large number of points from your previous race even though you won! Update again!! You can no longer redeem prizes. The screen is corrupt and as you access it the App crashes. Good racing game but heavily strewn with bugs and glitches.Version: 1.3.1
